Star Gazing

Nighttime was one of Layla's favorite time of the day. She normally spent most of the day sleeping after her morning run. She always enjoyed nighttime since her parents would take her out star gazing. The stars always shined brightly and formed many odd shapes that her mother pointed out.

Layla had found herself wandering along the shores of Whisper Beach. It was her first time here since she had joined the pack and wondered what it was like. Back were she lived, she was used to calm flowing rivers and creeks. Never once had she seen what the ocean looked like but she heard stories from her mother. The ocean is a place with huge waves of water and many kinds of fish. Layla was so excited to be seeing it for the first time.

As she padded along, she could feel the cool sand under her toes and the breeze of the ocean through her hair. She giggled a bit as the feathers she hung from her hair tickled her neck a bit. She then came into view of the ocean. It was so beautiful. From that instant she loved the ocean. She then looked to the sky to see all the stars. She took her spot in the sand and stared to the sky, looking for some of the shapes her mother showed her before.

Wonder walked along the shores of Whisper beach. She walked slowly looking out at the ocean. It was beautiful. Wonder had seen the ocean only once or twice before and she had never been so close. It wasn’t that she couldn’t get to it, she had simply never traveled that way. She preferred open prairies and hilly cliffs. She had thought about traveling to the ocean when she had been a loner but something had always caught her attention before she could get there and turned her away. Now looking out at the massive body of water she wished she had not waited to become part of a pack to see something so beautiful. And the night only made it more extraordinary.
She stopped and lifted her head to the wind and smelled another wolf, one of her pack members that she hadn’t met yet. Her tail swayed back and forth. She loved meeting new wolves. She quickened to a trot until the wolf was in sight. The wolf was sitting in the sand and starring up at the stars. The dark made it hard to see exactly what she looked like. She paused a little ways away and suddenly was a little shy. Uncertainly she said ”hello”

Sorry for the wait. Was working to get this done. WC: 258 {SHORT D:}

The stars danced beautifully in the sky. Tonight was mystcal indeed. As Layla adjusted her feathers in her hair, she welcomed the evening breeze through her hair. As she turned her orbs to the sky, she thought of when she was just a pup. She remembered the many nights she spent with her mother and father gazing up to the stars. As she sat there, she closed her eyes and imaged that they were there with her and looking to the stars with her. It was truly amazing that she still missed them even now as an older and mature wolf.

As Layla took in a breath, she caught the scent of a pack mate. She moved hergazed around until the wind brought the wolf’s greeting to her ears. She looked over to see the wolf in her view. From what she could see at a distance, this wolf was a she wolf and quite brown. She smiled and locked her gaze on the she wolf. She seemed a bit shy so why not make a new friend while she had the chance. Layla waved to the she wolf and beckoned her to come over. ”Hello to you as well. You’re new to the pack aren’t you? Why don’t you come join me? I’m just gazing at the stars.” Hopefully that was enough to have the she wolf come over. Should she come over, Layla would smile to her and wag her tail. ”I’m actually fairly new to the pack as well. My name is Layla. What’s your’s?”
