Skye was happy today. It was the beginning of fall - she could feel it - but also the beginning of winter. She knew it'd be harder for the pack to find food, but she hoped the winter-growing berries she'd found would be enough to sustain them. Besides, she knew of some deer and caribou that lived in the winter, and the larger predators - such as bears - would be hibernating, rather than eating their food. It would be a good winter - the time suggested it should be freezing, but it was a nice temperature today. Besides, her warm, thickened winter fur warmed her enough for the chilly days to come.
And that town she and Shaw had found - that would certainly provide excellent shelter for the pack, if they wished to reside there for the winter. The houses had something called 'fireplaces' - a small, covered area where you could put a fire. It was safe - the fire wouldn't escape - but it would provide warmth to come. And the smoke went out through something she thought was called a chinemmy - but she couldn't be sure.
She sat under a tree several hundred yards away from the Cercatori d'Arte borders. She was beginning to stray further from her pack - before, she hadn't wanted to leave it unsupervised, but she was sure Shawchert and the rest of them could handle themselves well. She chuckled at the thought and stretched out her legs on the grass, her hands tucked underneath her head, ready for the day to come.
