+3 OOC: <3 Niro gonna feel awkward heh and we can post date this fr tomorrow if you want to, that way it doesn’t clash with your thread you have today ^^

Niro had been healed well enough now, and he wanted to visit his daughters who he’d only seen once, it hurt that he couldn’t see them every day, but with the bitch… and her eagerness to keep him from moving to Dahlia, he was not to be blamed, the traveling was quite a distance, but instead of changing forms, which was still rather dangerous as his leg wasn’t fully healed, he wasn’t going to ride a unicorn, it was still a new thing to him, so he walked, it was a good long distance from where he lived, but that mattered little to him. He was going to see his daughters one way or another. The distance he did travel was already hurting his leg, but he did what he could to ignore the pain. He tried making Marahute stay in the miracle’s pack, but she refused, and he had never caged her for any reason other than on a dangerous hunt. She stayed overhead flying, like a protector of the sky, looking out for any danger that was to befall him or her or anyone she cared about. He wondered how much she really could see. He had to snap out of that daydream, this was not a falconry trip it was all for his little girls. His heart clenched at that thought and he continued limping towards Dahlia

He neared the borders of Dahlia, but he wasn’t going to enter them, not when others were sure to dislike him for doing a deed and leaving one with children to take care of by herself, but it wasn’t like he didn’t offer to help, and it angered him so much that he wasn’t going to be the father to these girls like he was suppose to. He moved around the border, not entirely sure exactly where they lived. He found his way out near the vineyard, and then gave a howl, a song he had not had to do ever, calling out for his daughters, telling them he was here. He’d move across the borders after at least one f them came… if they came… he wouldn’t be surprised if they all hated him. He hated himself for not being able to be there for them.

Poor Niro. <3 451 words...

Poppy was always up for a good play-fight with her sisters. She could be a very rough little puppy when she felt like it, which was the case on this somewhat cold November day. They had been having fun near the orchids that were located close to the Victorian house for the past few hours now and, let me tell you, Foxglove didn't stand a chance with the russet-colored pup bouncing and pouncing about, her sharp teeth grabbing at ears and a tail, causing her litter mate to yelp. Magnolia had already taken off in order to do something a little less physical and soon enough Foxglove would be doing the same. Poppy was just hardcore like that.

It was when a howl caught the young one's attention that she lost her focus, resulting in her being squished under Foxglove's weight. "Listen!" Poppy exclaimed, curiosity getting the best of her. Shrugging Foxglove off of her little body, Poppy made a bee line toward the howl, her senses on full alert. She knew this was her father yet as she skedaddled, she didn't really feel that pang of hurt that always seemed to make her heart ache when she thought about him.

As far as her father was concerned, Poppy didn't have a lot to say. She had only thought about him a few times over the past month she'd known of his existence and to be honest, she had trained herself to keep him away from her mind. It was less painful that way. She had only met him once when their Mama had taken them all the way to his pack. Since then he hadn't even come to visit, and their mother hadn't mentioned him. She felt as though he didn't want to be around her and the others and that didn't feel good.

When she reached a point where Niro Takekuro was visible, standing on the other side of the Slytherin territory, she came to an abrupt halt behind a tower, glancing back to find that Foxglove hadn't fallowed. She was all by herself, staring at the person that should be her Daddy; he was but a stranger to her.

Mustering up the courage and hoping that her Mama wouldn't be mad at her for doing what she was about to do, the curious little thing slowly made her way toward Niro, her head lowered slightly. "Hi, Mr. Niro, sir." she mumbled uneasily. What else was she supposed to say? She still had no idea why he was here, or what he wanted to do... in her mind, he hated her and would rather she didn't exist. It was a tad bit surprising that she'd made the run here in the first place.

+3 OOC: Hehehe <3

Niro saw the puppy running towards him, it was Poppy, he made it a note to at least remember who was who, it did show that he cared though he was not around he smiled, but as he thought the pup was still a bit shy and she hid behind a tower. She was scared of him, and it broke his heart to see it, he was about to tear up but he told himself to be strong, his smile grew as she came closer. Her address to him was quite formal and it made him feel like he was a visiting uncle… ‘this isn’t how it’s suppose to be.’ Niro thought to himself, his insides were burning while on the outside he laid a mask over the heartbroken wolf he was.

Hello Poppy. I came to visit, I would have come sooner… but … my leg was displeased by the thought of a long journey until now.

He patted his leg, which twinged a little, but he ignored it, he looked around to see if his other girls were around but it seemed the only one who cared enough to come was Poppy. ‘They might be busy’ he thought trying to make himself feel better. He moved closer, not sure what to do himself.

Are your sisters around or did you come alone?

He’d hoped that their mother would at least escort them. And thinking of the dangers that could possibly be lurking he looked around, but the only thing he saw besides Poppy was Marahute flying high up, she wasn’t about to come down and investigate just yet. It made Niro happy, a bird of giant squid would make a puppy rightfully run. He wasn’t sure he liked the idea of the puppy coming from their home to him, and he felt his protective urge to make sure he stayed with her until she got home. But this was his visit, and he’d stay for a while.

I repeat, poor Niro. <3 353 words...

At two months old, nobody could possibly expect a young pup to have the ability to read emotions properly, not to mention understand them the way adult wolves did. Then again, the wolf in question was a stone-hard mask of neutrality, which meant it was an even harder feat for Poppy to even try to know what he was thinking. On the other hand, her own emotions were crystal clear, as though she was the glass and the cool liquid inside was her bubbling emotions. A part of her, the largest part, felt uneasy and confused, as though anything could happen and she wouldn't have her Mama to protect her. Another part of her was curious, filled with a million and one questions that would most likely never get answered. The smallest part was filled with an ache that only an absent father could create.

So he had come to visit her? That in itself made the young pup raise her head in curiosity, blue eyes meeting green for a fraction of a second before she chickened out and looked away again, her eyes busying themselves on the hand that was patting his leg.

"What happened to it?" she asked before having the chance to stop herself. She had a habit of being nosy; asking other wolves questions that should be best kept alone. They do say curiosity killed the cat and one day Poppy was most likely going to understand just what that saying meant. For now however, she was merely an innocent, knowledge-hungry russet wolf, wanting to learn everything there was to know about this amazing world she had the opportunity to be born in.

Where were Magnolia and Foxglove? As if expecting them to turn up, Poppy glanced behind her before turning to face him again. "Magnolia is with Mama and I thought Foxglove was fallowing me earlier... but she wasn't. She's 'pobly hiding. She does that a lot." she informed him, deciding that maybe if she told him a little about her sisters, he would want to be around them more. She wanted him to want to stay here forever with her...

+3 OOC: Now I don’t want him to leave ; ;

Niro’s heart melted just looking at the girl, though she didn’t resemble him at all, she was still his, he was sure of it, it made him feel bad seeing the mixture of emotions on the puppie’s face, most of it was apprehension. A question came to her lips and he smiled, he’d broken through a little, he knelt and showed her the scar at his knee where Alaine had sewed it. It was now nothing more than a festering scar.

I was hunting moose with my packmates, and the moose tossed me in the air with its head, and broke my leg.

He wasn’t about to scare her more with his missing finger though, which was now invisible in his fist. It seemed like it was contagious when she looked this way and that for her sisters because Niro did as well. Though he was disappointed, but at least he got to see one of his daughters, maybe he’ll get to see the other two soon enough. At least he hoped.

Well I hope I didn’t scare foxglove.

He said, he took a tentative step forward. And knelt down.

Do you have any favorite games you like to play?

He said, a small smile on his face, though in his head he was mumbling about how he’d know all of this if he were allowed to live with them… or at least close to them. He was debating on becoming a loner and haunting the outskirts of Dahlia, but he needed his pack, it was secure, and comfortable. He couldn’t just stand out alone, though his children were worth it, he was just too much of a chicken to do it. What was most important was he get his time with his daughters as much as he can while still having his duties in his pack.

Poppy had never really seen anyone hurting before, not to mention actual wounds and fresh scars. Of course she had spent hours play-fighting with her sisters and had won most of the childish fights, but it had never really been pain they'd felt. A nibble here and a scratch there was nothing compared to the scar she was seeing on Niro's knee. It had definitely picked at her interest however, and as he spoke, he had her full attention. A lot of wolves had a habit of doing that these days - she loved listening to stories and having a chance at knowing a tad more about something.

"I hope you and your packmates taught that moose a lesson!" Poppy exclaimed as she bounced slightly, "When we don't behave, Mama gives us a little punishment and that's how we learn our lesson. That's just because we're puppies though... once we're big... Mr. Soul - he's our leader - can give us big punishments if we do bad things!" she explained, her tone taking on a wise, all-knowing tone as though what she was saying was the most important thing in the world. To her, maybe it was. The shear fact that a stranger was listening to what she had to say was definitely important to her. She felt important.

Poppy shook her head. "Everything scares Foxglove! She's a big scared-y cat!" she giggled, feeling unusually chatty all of a sudden. Sure there were obviously still those thoughts lurking in the back of her mind, unpleasant thoughts mind you, but she had since convinced herself that if she acted like herself, he would see how adorable she was and want to stick around more.

It was a shame Foxglove and Magnolia weren't here however. Niro was a stranger to all three of the Monroe girls, but for some reason Poppy was probably the one who was going to have the hardest time with all of this. Foxglove was scared now, but it had probably been the howl... And Magnolia? Well, she had probably been too busy to respond; either that or Mama had stopped her altogether. Not that Poppy believed her Mama would want to do that, but it was possible, right?

Niro was smiling now, though, and Poppy realized he had taken a step toward her. She wasn't moving though; it was as if her four paws were stuck to the earthy ground.

"Well..." she trailed off, thinking of games she liked to play with her sisters. There were a lot of things they did together, but her two all-time favorite games would definitely have to be play-fighting and tag. She was a very fast runner, but unfortunately in that area, she wasn't the best. "I was winning at play-fighting with my sister before you came!" she informed him.

+3 OOC: awrrrr so cuuute :3

Niro listened to her explain that if she did something bad she would get punished, just like her sisters. though it was the way of life around here he wouldn’t smile at such a thing, though in his heart he thought it was cute the way she was talking.

Yes I think that moose got what it had coming for it.

he failed to mention they’d started it all, but for good reasons… food, but he considered the puppy still too young to understand the meat that she ate… was she eating meat yet? He didn’t know, it all came from the animals they hunted.

I guess it’s all the more reason to be good though huh? I wouldn’t want to see you punished.

He added quickly, this time a smile crept along his face. he knew he’d never be able to punish something so small and cute… then again he had never been with them for a long period of time.

Maybe you can teach Foxglove to be brave like you are. I’m glad you came, I really did miss all of you.

He said, his voice was sincere and he knew that he’d probably be breaking the poor girls heart when he left, he wished he could turn into his wolf as he felt awkward kneeling, but it was still too dangerous on his leg. It would have been much easier if he could just change and be just what his daughter was to make things less awkward. He chuckled at her comment about winning a fight with Foxglove.

I wish I could have seen that, you’re a strong girl huh? How about this, I can bring you back home and you can tell me all about it? I’ll still visit though.

He said having no intentions of leaving his daughters for a little while at the least.

Although she hadn't been drinking her mother's milk for about a week or so at this point, she was still somewhat oblivious as to just what she was eating. She knew that meat came from animals and that it was caught by other wolves from her pack, but what she had never grasped was the fact that these animals were being chased and killed before it was bestowed in front of her for consumption. As far as she was concerned, meat was like her mother's milk - the animals offered it to her pack-mates and they gladly took it as their source of food. There was nothing wrong with that, now was there?

Poppy was looking forward to hunting however; it seemed as though it could be a lot of fun. She had overheard a few wolves talking about it the other day and they definitely seemed excited after coming back with some fresh meat!

"I don't get punished often; I'm a good puppy! Maggie and Foxglove are too!" the two-month old said cheerfully; the smile that had appeared on his face made her own wolfy smile stretch the corners of her mouth in return.

Teach Foxglove how to be brave? Poppy was a patient wolf, but she wasn't that patient! She shook her furry head however, showing him that indeed she'd try to do just that. Maybe that way, the next time Niro came - would he come? - Foxglove would tag along! Poppy hoped he'd come back... "You missed us?" she added curiously, her face scrunched up in a confused expression as she looked up at him.

"Well... now that you're leg is feeling better you're going to come more often, right?" she asked, unsure as to how Mama would feel about that. To be honest, she was certain her mother had missed Niro and that his presence here at Dahlia would make the older Monroe wolf happy; as much as it would make Niro's daughters happy.

It had surely never occured to the russet Monroe daughter that her Mama and Niro weren't together for a reason... and that chances were slim - non-existent, actually - that they'd ever be a real family. Niro had a home in his pack, wherever that was, and Mama lived here with Aunt Pippa and everyone else, yet somehow Poppy wasn't going to believe any of the facts.

Oh, telling Niro about her fight (play, of course) with Foxglove sounded like a great idea but she wasn't entirely sure if him bringing her all the way home to the Victorian house near the orchards was a good plan. "Uh... okay." she said a little timidly, her chatty mood seeming to seep out of her all of a sudden. "My home is that way." she informed him as her head twisted slightly toward the direction she'd gotten here from.

Niro smiled at her comment of being a good puppy, he had no doubts that she was, and it was good to hear it, though he knew puppies knowledge of being good wasn’t always that perfect.

I’m glad, being good makes for happy mommies and daddies, know what else is good? Making others laugh and smile.

He’d never been the best at that but Orin had and he could see the difference when she walked n the room, and the feeling of making someone happy was possibly one of the best he’d had, as though he couldn’t make one laugh he could make them feel good. He saw the little smile crease her face and this was one of those moments. At her astonished comment he couldn’t help but choke up, it took him a second before he could clear his feelings before he could answer

I missed every single one of you,

He said, wanting to add more but he didn’t want to worry the puppy. He wanted her to be happy on this visit. He never wanted his puppies to hate him ever and even though his ideas of when he had puppies were much different he still wanted to be with them as much as possible.
Yes I will come much more often, as often as I can.

Niro promised, he was sure to keep that promise as well as he could. He had no doubts that just from this visit he’d be back in a few weeks or so. Then seeing the eagle flying lower now, he turned to Poppy.

Do you like birds?

He asked curiously, as he stood and started limping in the direction Poppy pointed to. He knew that her mother didn’t want him to live in the lands, but he had rights to see the children he had conceived. She shouldn’t be angry about it, he’d made it clear that he would visit them.

Urgh, sorry for the wait. 415 words...

This was just all so awkward for the russet puppy! One second she felt shy and a little heartbroken, whereas the next she felt chatty and smiley toward Niro, her father. It was an odd combination that made Poppy feel strange... She didn't like it all that much, to be perfectly honest. Perhaps the fact that Niro was here right now and that he actually seemed to want a relationship with Poppy and her sisters would make it worth the while, though. Only time would really tell.

"Making people laugh is fun!" she agreed excitedly. Poppy loved making people laugh, that was true. It definitely did make her feel good and as she stood there on all fours, she couldn't help but wonder if he was a funny wolf, too.

Poppy had already deducted that he was a nice one, considering he hadn't completely abandoned her just yet, but he hadn't been too funny at this point and that made Poppy wonder what he was keeping hidden from her. She wanted to know him! Everything about him! Sure it didn't really feel like it right now, but her was her father and she... she wanted him to be her daddy.

Poppy did notice the slight bit of emotion slip up from under that stone mask of his when she asked if he'd missed his three daughters, but it wasn't anything she believed deserved her attention. The fact that he had missed them was enough to make her grin. "Well." she stated as-a-matter-of-factly, "I missed you too and I think Foxglove and Magnolia did too!" So they hadn't exactly missed him considering they'd never really gotten a chance to know him, but they missed the idea of not having a father present in their lives. To Poppy though, the two were the same thing.

Did Poppy like birds? The question was a little random, and the russet wolf wasn't sure what to make of it. Birds were fun to chase, at least the smaller ones that were too afraid to chase her back but in general they weren't bad.

"Birds are fun! A few days ago I saw one flying above my home! I don't know the name... it was all black!" she informed him. Maybe he could tell her the name of the black bird she'd seen? It wasn't too big, but it made a loud 'CAW' sound!" she said, trying her best to imitate the bird call and failing quite miserably might I add.

+3 ooc: <3 it’s all good Big Grin sorry for the craptastic post ; ;

He was glad that she thought that, he did too but he wasn’t the type of wolf who really was funny, that was Orin’s job, not his, he’d always been the serious one, the one who had to keep him and his sister out of trouble. He was only able to get a joke in here or there that was worth any laughs.

Well my sister always makes me laugh, I suppose it’s a bit harder for me to do that, never did come naturally to me, but it makes me happy when I do make someone laugh.

He admitted, not sure of why he was admitting it, maybe he didn’t want to seem false, though he didn’t want to seem like the boring type, he still played games, and he was sure she’d know a few… even if he only knew the ones he and his sister made, as well as the pirates game that Amaranth had him play with her when she was younger. He caught himself as she spoke again, this time ready for a wave that would come, but he caught it and was able to give her a sad… or was it happy?... smile.

Oh, I see, well I think you met a crow, they love to eat left overs from our own meals… well if we ever leave any. I have someone I’d like to introduce to you though… she’s quite a bit bigger than a crow though, but she won’t hurt you, on my honor.

He said giving her a reassuring smile, and as if by command the large golden eagle landed right on Niro’s shoulder, a little harder than normal, but his smile never faltered. He looked up at the large fledgling.

This is Marahute, she’s a golden eagle… I’ve had her since she was an egg, this small.

He said cupping his hands, to show Poppy what he meant… he hoped that she wasn’t too frightened of the bird, he’d send her away if she was, he would rather spend the time with his daughter, no matter how much he loved his job, his family always came first.

I train them.

He said proudly, though he didn’t really give her an explanation as to what he trained her for, he was sure that would come in due time, he wanted her to understand that the bird wasn’t going to eat her first.
