The end of all things

here it is...

The clouds hung low to the earth today, the happiness that had filled the male earlier in the year had given way to a bored, meandering life that he wasn’t enjoying. The male somehow knew what it was, why he was like this, unfulfilled and dull. Layla had been a brief gift to his mind before he was left to think of free life again. The behemoth sat there in the house that was now just a shadow of it’s former self, drinking from a bottle. Saluce wasn’t drunk by any means, it’d take several more bottles of wine but today he just wanted to drown out the emotions in him. His mate wasn’t what he wanted anymore, even before the stillbirth when they had spontaneously grown bitter toward each other he wondered if it was all just due to two young adults not fully understanding the moment.

Her sword laid on the table beside him along with the necklace she had given him. It was finished but the meaning; the heart behind it was gone. Saluce couldn’t reason out anymore when he had come to this conclusion. Had it been after the still birth? Was he blaming her for their children’s lifeless forms? Some part of him didn’t want to think such thoughts, it wasn’t her fault for that and he couldn’t ever blame her for that. A long sigh escaped his lips as he waited for the inevitable confrontation with her. Knowing it wouldn’t go well, knowing he’d have to leave Dahlia for awhile until the both of them could come to a hesitant understanding between each other. Saluce was done, he was leaving her, she could have the house, and everything in it if she wanted it, he just wanted to be done with their fling, the ties to a life he had rushed into without thinking it through.

Saluce sat in the chair, a note wouldn’t be enough, he’d be a man and tell her to her face at least. Although it would break his heart to see how she took it. Some part of him loved her but knew it wasn’t enough, he’d end this fiasco now before the two of them grew more bitter, or had children to make it harder.

Poor Layla Sad. WC: 312 {3 points}

Layla had spent a bit more time than usual in her herb room since it seemed wolves were getting hurt left and right. She sighed as she was placing her herbs into some boxes. She was counting them and taking down some notes. She wanted to leave them in the boxes so she could arrange them. Winter meant that spring was on the way and she would soon be able to plant her own garden. She was so happy and it seemed like her depression was slipping away. It had been a while since the terrible miscarriage and she was eager to have a second go. She wanted nothing more then produce some healthy offspring for her mate. Perhaps they would bring some more joy into their life. The mistress smiled as she decided to check on her mate. She left her herb room and headed out to where he was sitting.

Layla found him sitting in the chair with her finished sword on the table. She was so excited to see that he had finally finished it, but there was something wrong with the behemoth himself. She looked over to him as he was sighing. The mistress tried to look into his eyes and see what he was feeling. There seemed to be a look of sadness in his eyes. Was there something wrong with him? The black and white she wolf took to his side and whined as she folded her ears down. ”Are you alright love? Is something wrong?” She tried to think of what could have been wrong with him. He seemed healthy so there was no way he could be sick. She was so worried about him. She had no idea that he was about to break her heart. ”Love?” She folded her tail around her legs as she waited to hear what he had to say.

Her form arrived even as he continued to dread seeing her again. Eyes listlessly looked at her as she came to him. It would be so easy to lie again, to tell her nothing was wrong, live the lie. So easy to tell himself he could love those eyes of hers again. But nothing in him held those feelings anymore. Only emptiness. The arrival of Layla was met with almost a reaction akin to someone with the plague. Saluce slipped from the seat and her embrace almost automaticly. Link severed, connection gone he was no longer here at all anymore.

“I’m leaving” he spoke, turning to look at the face that had held his thoughts for so long, the dark mockingbird of his addiction so long ago but yet so recent. But then it was fueled by instinct, the fire that had burned in him for her was just a product of hormones flooding his senses, causing a natural reaction within the core of his being. Take away the drug and he was left without any feelings for her. Which wasn’t actually the case, he cared for her, just didn’t “love” her. Layla would turn out to be a great mother someday, mother many healthy pups into dahlia, and whomever her mate was then would be lucky to have her.

“I’ve made my mind up Layla, and our relationship just isn’t going to work” the next part was said to make sure she understood what he meant. Leaving yes he was, leaving the pack for a few weeks but that wasn’t what he meant, he was leaving her and the sooner he told her the better the both of them would be.

Layla still couldn’t figure out what was wrong with Saluce. He had never been this way with her before and she wondered if something terrible had happened to him. She tried to think back to some of the other events that had happened in the past few days. She couldn’t think of anything that might have made him upset aside from the hunt where Gideon had made the simple mistake of not being in the right form. Figuring that this was why he was upset, she began to gently rub his back. ”Are you still upset with Gideon? Don’t worry about it love. It was just one hunt. I’m sure he’ll get better in time.” The mistress then sat back and bit and took the sword from off the table. She was eager to change the subject to something to try and bring his mood back. She smiled as she ran her fingers gently across the metal part of the blade. ”You did a wonderful job on this sword love. I love it and thank you.” The black and white she wolf leaned forward to give him a kiss on the cheek before she looked over the sword some more. It was beautiful in every way. She was so happy to finally receive the sword from her mate. She couldn’t wait until she would be able to try it out; although, she didn’t know when she would ever actually use the sword. She didn’t seem to have any enemies and there hadn’t been really any wild animal attacks since the bear attacks she had encountered. Even though she didn’t really see a need for it, she would carry it around just in case she would ever need it when she left the house.

Layla’s attention turned back to her mate when he finally spoke to her. He was leaving? Perhaps he was heading out somewhere and would be back later. She nodded to him to ask where he was going, but then he continued. He was trying to get the point across that he would be leaving her. He didn’t want to be her mate anymore and he was leaving. The mistress couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Why would he want to leave her? Did she do something to upset him so much that he would really break off their relationship? Did this all stem back to her miscarriage? Was that where she went wrong? She didn’t like this. The black and white she wolf began to move into a state of denile. Her mate wouldn’t leave her like this. She remembered him saying she was the one he wanted to have a family with. She got up and set the sword down at her feet before she began to move over towards him. She wrapped her arms around him as she closed her eyes. ”This is just a joke right? You’re just trying to scare me or something right? You love me don’t you?” She rubbed her head gently on his chest as she folded her ears down. ”You know I love you don’t you?”

My Last post in this thread

Apparently she wouldn’t let this go easily. His resolve wavered a bit as her form came to his, the familiar sensations against his form, of the women he had convinced himself that he had loved once, then convinced himself that he didn’t now, he just wondered if this was all some silly joke he was playing on himself. But his form moved with the solid nature of a unstoppable force, the muscles of his hands and arms moving in to remove the foreign form from his being. She was rightfully becoming hysterical but he was done and he had to see this act through.

“It’s no joke, no game, I’m leaving Layla.” He said softly again with a solid resolve, form devoid of emotion. Devoid of caring, his form began to move yet again, the door swinging open as the grey form of the behemoth stepped out into the atmosphere. He didn’t want to become hostile but if she chose to follow him still he’d continue to have to drive home this point again.

“Do not follow me” was his only word of warning, he’d not strike her but he wasn’t exactly in the mood to continue childish endeavors.

sorry for the wait. We can close this now. SSWM: 722

Layla looked up to the male as he removed her from holding him. She could not understand what was going on. There was no way he could have been telling the truth. Why would he leave her now? They were in love so why would he all of a sudden just want to leave her. The longer she looked over the male, the more she could feel her heart sink and tears form in her eyes. There was no way. The mistress kept lying to herself in her mind that all of this was just a dream. She was sure that soon this would all be over and she would wake up in bed, cuddling close in his arms. She even tried to pinch herself as she stood there staring at him. She was not waking up and the tears began to fall down her eyes. This was real. He was really going to leave her. She stayed silent even as he spoke to her, telling her that this was not a joke and that he really was leaving. The black and white she wolf watched as he moved to the door. So he was just going to abandon her here at his home? She watched as he told her not to follow him and left. The she wolf was frozen in place as she tried to comprehend what just happened. Her heart was bleeding on the inside. Her heart was broken and she could feel herself crying a river.

Layla fell onto her knees as the door hung open and she stared out into the snow. She fell onto the ground, breaking into tears and crying her heart out. She wondered if her former mate could even hear the pain she was in. She held herself as her cheeks became rosy red with pain. After a while, the mistress passed out on the floor, feeling herself drifting into a dream. She could see herself there with Saluce. He was standing right in front of her, being his loving self and holding her close. Just then, he moved his hand to her chest and stabbed her right in the heart. He pulled out the bleeding organ as the mistress’ lifeless body fell to the ground. With her last moments, she looked over to the red eyed behemoth as he stabbed his claws into her heart and laughing. At that moment, the black and white she wolf woke from her nightmare. She looked around the house, the behemoth was no where in sight. She went back to crying but pulled herself off the ground. There was nothing but painful memories here. She knew she could no longer stay here in this house. She would have to pack up all her things and find a new home.

Layla slowly made her way to her herb room and began to pack all of her herbs into the box she had used to bring them here in the first place. She was going to have to fit everything into this box so she didn’t have to make so many trips back to this hell hole. She raced up to the bedroom and grabbed her clothes before heading back to the herb room. She packed them into the box and tried to close it up the best she could. The mistress took one last look at the room before she left and looked to the sword sitting on the table. She knew Saluce had made the sword for her, though she was not sure if she wanted to take it or not. The black and white she wolf eventually picked up the sword and headed out into the cold. The male was no where in sight, though that was a good thing. She did not want him around to remind her of the broken heart he had just given her. The she wolf moved to the back of the house to get her only companion now, her horse. She carried her box of things and trusted that the horse would follow her. She then walked away from the house, not even taking a moment to look back. As she disappeared into the lifeless wood, she wondered where she could go. She didn’t want to be alone. She shivered as she tried to think of where to go.
