I want to see the look in her eyes,
when her body parts ways with life.
Kezia Havok
_____Awake. She was still awake. Rolling over on the bed she'd claimed for the evening, annoyance gracing delicate features, Kezia finally rose and moved to the window. Pushing up the frame with the dull creak of aged wood and rusted hinges, a breeze rolled in smelling of the coming spring and tussled her dark hair. Leaning against the frame, gold eyes sought out the horizon, seeing the darkness tainted by hues of pink and gold in the east. A fluttering of wings and the gentle cooing of pigeons greeted her senses, and head twisted around, seeing a few of the birds perched on the building's outside ledge. Already, it was proving to be a nice day out, with hardly a cloud marring the heavens and the weather less then freezing. Plucking a feather from the bricks, she released it into the air, watching it spiral to the street below before turning away, making her way downstairs and outside into the cool of the morning. The air smelled fresh and new, with daylight just beginning to dawn in the distance.
_____Leaping on top the frame of an abandoned car, she dipped her head upside down and peered at the interior—blood rushing to her head from the angle she was perched at. Claws scrapping against the metal surface, she suddenly slunk, snake-like in through an open window where she landed into a tangled pile in the car's back seat. Uprighting herself, Kezia remained where she was, peering out through the windows to see if another soul walked the dark streets. But she was alone. Not even a rat scurried through the remnants of the fallen society. Slipping between the passenger and driver's seats, she-wolf seated herself in the front seat and examined the car's interior. Claws gripping the wheel, girl vaguely knew of the machine's purpose, but not how to activate it. Muzzle lowering, she sniffed the plastic-scented surfaces, jumping visibly when her nose greeted with the automobile's horn, causing it to release a sound that echoed painfully through the quiet city.
_____Head still ringing with the noise, fangs bared and fur bristling, wolfess allowed herself to calm down a moment before continuing her exploration once again, ducking down to examine the floor of the car. Invisible from where she was to the outside, senses remained alert on her surroundings, to ensure no one would sneak up on her trapped within this metal cage constructed by the humans.
