Exploration of a new Beginning

Ooc: alrighty, im gonna try this one out Wink /center>

The territory of Anathma seemed to go on forever for Nyx. Only a few days ago she was accepted into the pack and was still finding her way around. Naniko had accepted her quickly, and Nyx was beginning to understand why. The pack was small, therefore she had not meet any of the other pack members yet. Recently, She had picked up a few mixed scents which headed towards the mountains. She decided to follow the scents as it lead her on a zigzagging trail through the rocks. She walked nimbily in her optime form, twitching her ears to catch any sounds the would indicate if there where others nearby. Only silence with the wind howling meet her ears. The night sky was her only company casting shadow's from the peaks and rocks.

For a young female she was still quiet petite and it didn't look as if she would get any taller, so she remained in her optime form to see over the larger rocks. Yet even that didn't provide much help to her. Nyx's eyes where green which seemed to have almost an iridescent them making them appear yellow and gold. The wind picked up messing with her black fur with hints of golden and red. Her feather earring seemed as it if wanted to take flight with the winds' strength and her necklace of labradorite seemed to be heavy on her neck. She made these herself and held no desire to remove them even though the wind nagged. A leather belt around her small waist included an ivory knife carved with intricate designs and hints of the same stone around her neck, labradorite, and small pack and another pouch filled with a few tumbled stones. Everything on her seemed to be getting heavy from the cold air. Nyx was not yet used to this coldness, but loved the when the snow began to fall.

Her feet meet the rocks as she continued over them, still no signs of any others. Her body tired of her desire to follow these scents. Climbing upon a larger rock and sat upon it, crossing her legs. A little break would prove to be a good idea perhaps. The wind seemed to die down a little as she began to relax on the rock. Howling seemed like an appealing idea suddenly. She could make her presence known now that she was apart of the pack. Lifting her head to the night sky she parted her lips and released a vibration though her throat, and deep within her body. It was almost meditative as it echoed through her and upon the mountain peaks. In it was a greeting, stating that she was new and invited anyone to join her.

Nightime was usually a time to sleep, but Teddy Stone was not a good sleeper. It was logic enough to say that therefore he would not be sleeping, and logic would be right. Although the twilight had fallen a few hours ago, sooner than the summer months by far, the twilight male was still awake. He was never really one to relax and sleeping was the ulitmate relaxation for anyone. So he was not in his den like most were. Instead he was outside in the snow, exploring. Teddy was not a very light hearted wolf and exploring was something that was now taken as a serious job, where before it was a novelty. Though the young man had not been in the lands long he already knew most of his pack lands and the surronding areas. He'd explored the borders of Inferni once or twice although he'd never met anyone out there.

Blue eyes were studying the mountain-range, wondering how on earth he'd managed to cross over from the other side. Gazing up over the mountains reminded the young man of his family, of his brother whom he used to be so close to. Lochlan had attacked Theodore when he'd caught his older brother in bed with one of the packs females that Lochlan had his eye on. It hadnt been anything serious, but the younger brother had felt it apt to attack his older brother. Though Teddy was more skilled and powerful than his brother, his parents had taken Lochlan's side. Though neither of them attacked him, he felt like it was certainly his time to go. He probably would never see his brother again.

A howl broke through his trip down memory lane and he shook his head as if to get rid of the cobwebs there. Who cares if his brother hated him? Certainly not him. Blue eyes were eager now to find out whom had called out and after a few minutes searching amoung the rocks he spotted a twinkle of yellow. He made out an optime form sat cross legged and he wandered up the rocks towards her. He was calm this evening and he met her with a charming smile.

”Good evening miss. I'm Teddy Stone.”

He offered, deciding to sit beside her rather than stand over her. She looked very similar to him in coat colour- black, although she appeared to be highlighted with different colours where he was pure. She also appeared to have green eyes where his were blue.

Ooc: sorry it took me a little while to get back to you! <3

Nyx let her gaze wander around the mountains, surveying whatever was out there. The sight was rather pretty as the sun was gone and the night was out, moonlight descending it's light upon the rocks, filling it with highlights and shadows. Her howl ended it's echoing leaving her with a void like feeling. She was getting used to being on her own after her parent's died and she barley escaped those who had killed them. All that blood, it almost made her shiver, but she suppressed it. Remembering that she was happy to now be apart of a pack, she wanted to put it behind her.. Still that feeling was under her skin, a bit of emptiness. She wanted to fight it, to taunt it away. Everything had to get better, she just knew it and needed to change her attitude towards things. Then, maybe things would turn around for her. Just then, she heard something moving upon the rocks and turned her head towards it, still cross legged upon the rock. She only saw blue eyes looking out to her steadily approaching in the darkness. A optime wolf form emerged forth, a dark furred male male. Completely black, much darker than her own fur with tints of red and gold. Nyx felt his clam aura and then saw his friendly smile. This male was much taller than her in his optime form. He was very toned and strong from the looks of hours of training, probably a warrior, she noted as she watched him. He then sat down beside and greeted her. She was happy to have company and accepted his friendly attitude and greeting readily with her own. "Good evening sir, I'm Nyx de Jinx, it's nice to meet you," Nyx said sweetly with a smile swept across her face.

ooc;; sorry for the wait!

Blue eyes could see enough in the darkness to know that she was of similar colour to him. He wasn't pure black though- his hands and feet were bleached pale white as was the thin strip of white on his forehead. Still, these small amounts of white were never enough to give him away in the twilight and for this he was glad. He was calm tonight, an emotion that never really came to him. He was almost always filled with energy, whether that be angry energy or purposeful energy, it was always energy of some kind. But the lack of sleep and the evening air calmed the angry mans soul, even if it was just for a little while. Blue eyes glanced back at the woman as she spoke and he allowed a slick smile to spread across his lips.

”Its nice to meet you Nyx.”

He murmered softly before allowing his gaze to search the skies. His father had made sure that any creative thoughts in his sons heads had been beaten out of them before they were old enough to voice them. He had told his sons that there was nothing in the sky excpet burning balls of gas that twinkled in the evening. And the moon was nothing more than a celestial rock, illuminated by the sun in the day and reflecting it back at night. Teddy had therefore never sat and gazed up at the stars, wondering what was out there. His father had told him that there was nothing, and therefore his father was correct. So he instead looked at the stars, thinking on how they were big balls of gas instead of the twinkling souls of lost loved ones, or some other sentimental meaning. He looked back to earth and the female next to him reclaimed his attention.

”What're you doing out here alone? Don't you know there are big bad wolves around these parts?”

He was, of course, talking about himself. He was not a nice person, not now and not ever. It was her luck this evening that he was not his usual flirty self. She would be at his mercy if he decided that she should be targeted. And besides, his goal of sleeping with all the females in Anathema was looking pretty dismal right now, considering that Demi was the only one under his belt.

Ooc: thanks alright! happy holidays and new year!

"It's nice to meet you as well Teddy."She quietly. Eyes adjusting to the shifting from day to night, she saw that his coat was not completely black . White areas adorned areas of him, but he was still mostly black such as herself. Black was the color of the night, to be disguised. She enjoyed the color, it helped her to blend in with the shadows and the night. Keeping out of harm and when she was on the hunt. She could feel his strong energy of calmness as he sat next to her. For, she herself was calm as well. As he lifted his head to look at the sky, she did so herself, enjoying the beauty of it all. As if to bath in the moonlight and stars themselves twinkling with their individual light millions of miles away. She remembered what her mother said, how everything is all connected, all one. Looking at the stars and moon made her feel small, yet as her she said, connected to it all. Without the moon, the tide would be nonexistent and earth's rotation would not be balanced. Therefore the moon and earth share a connection as do all creatures on the earth. Suddenly as he spoke, she was pulled from her own thoughts. Big bad wolves eh?

She couldn't help but give a chuckle at the comment of the big bad wolves part. She hadn't meet many vicious wolves but the ones that she did encounter where the ones that killed her parents. She was lucky to escape them for they had almost taken her life as well. If she did happen to encounter any, she would fight them.

" So I've been told of them. I've been traveling alone for quiet some time but recently I've been accepted into Anathema. "

She also couldn't help but notice that his comment was some what of a taunt. Perhaps he wasn't as calm as she felt he was. Never the less, Nyx would hold her ground, hoping that the calmness she felt earlier would not escape into being defensive or aggressive. She liked to be neither.

She returned his formality of the phrase and he gave a soft smile. In all honesty there was rarely a smile on the young warrior's face- a scowl was the default setting. He had been conditioned to filter out the 'soft' feelings in his emotional repetoire. His default emotion was usually casual indifference and he often swift between indifference and disinterest. He never got excited, except when horny, and he almost never smile. The small smile he offered Nyx was a certain formality also- it wasn't genuine and it didnt reach his eyes. But it was there none the less and he knew he was trying. Like with his encounter with Attila- all he'd really wanted to do was bite him or tear his head from his shoulders but he had forced himself to be pleasent, kind of.

She retaliated on his comment about big bad wolves and he gave a silky chuckle in her direction. This was also a rare occurance and Teddy could feel sleep deprivation at the back of his mind. He heard her mention that she had been alone and it almost catipulted him back to his year as a loner. He had left after a nasty fight with Lochlan and decided to live on his own for a while. He had survived easily but he had still been on his own. No-one is ever truely a hermit in the canine world- wolves are pack animals and a wolf without a pack eventually withers and dies. So even though Teddy was strong he had needed a pack more than he cared to admit. Blue eyes glanced back down to Nyx and he nodded at her.

”I was alone too. And then Naniko found me and convinced me to be a founding member of Anathema.”

He stated. Teddy was never one to really reveal his feelings and he wasnt about to admit to a pratical stranger that despite being part of a pack he still felt alone. He didnt have friends, per say and the only person he really talked to was Demi and she was a little firecracker in herself. Sometimes he just couldnt deal with it. So despite being part of a pack, he was still very much alone.

Ooc goes here

The wind had died down quite a bit now and the night still twinkled it's stars for the wolves. Nyx stole a glance at Teddy's eyes. Though his eyes stayed the same in almost - it seemed to her an icy way, she saw the smile on his mouth. She believed that eyes where the windows of the soul, emotions played across them at times or remain hard as stone. Nyx often found herself to judge their personality and soul by their eyes this way. His where unrevealing and almost cold. But, Nyx appreciated his smile and in turn gave him a genuine smile with soft light in her eyes. To her, Teddy seemed to be a decent wolf of the Anathema pack, whom she thought, might eventually be a friend. The tension from the comment before dissolved when he gave a laugh. Nyx was glade to bring laughter in others, she hadn't heard it's sound since the death of her pack and the joining of another. She knew that she had to join this pack rather than be alone. Traveling by herself she heard no voice but her own within her, and there was rarely laughter in that. She could have probably survived alone but as canine, her deep instinct told her that she needed a pack. With the laughter, she felt as felt less isolated. Nyx was in awe that Teddy had been one of the founding members of Anathema, even though it was such a new pack. The fact that he was also a loner like herself made her feel like she had more of a connection with this wolf then she realized. To be in your own thoughts, focusing on survival, living from day to day. Nyx nodded to this comment of his. "A loner as well? ", she said closing her eyes for a second remembering her travels. Reopening them to meet his blue gaze with her own yellow green she said, " It was thoughtful of Naniko to include you in being a founding member. " . Then she added, " It's not an easy life to be without a pack, you must feel that it is better this way. Do you not? " She tilted her head a little in question as her feather earring fluttered a bit in the light wind. Since he had been a founding member, he probably would not fee lonely, she figured. Or at least less lonely then before, without a pack, with nothing.

Unlike Nyx's experiance of being a loner, Teddy had rather enjoyed his near-year on his own. Although he had to admit that he was never truely alone. He didnt travel with anyone but his impressive armory but there had always been people along the way. There had always been another man to pick a fight with, there had always been a little harlot shaking her tail end his way. So despite the fact that he had denounced his place at his fathers pack and left at the end of a brutal fight with his own brother, the young warrior had never really been alone. Of course, he was not a thinker, he was an acter and therefore he did not spend hours walking and thinking about all the wrong things in his life. Optimistic in those days he had always just lived in the moment, eating when he was hungry, resting when he was tired. It was a simpler existance than this one. Black ears perked once more as her soft comment.

”Yeah, for about a year. But I was never really alone- there was always someone out there to... talk to.”

His cryptic smile reached his eyes this time, even if it wasnt the right smile she was looking for. Blue eyes caught yellow as she reopened her lids. She was simple in looks but there was a raw beauty to her that he hadnt noticed before. Like she didn't need to be flirty and charming to be pretty. However Teddy had his libido firmly clamped down this evening and instead turned his eyes to the stars. He had always been told there was nothing up there, in fact any creative thoughts had been squashed in the boys. Ears caught the comment about Naniko. In all honesty there would be no way Teddy would have been here if Naniko had been male. But he had trusted the woman from the very moment she had decided to put away her poisoned tipped dagger and talked to him on the floor.

”Well we nearly killed each other the first time round, but I guess that made me trust her enough to join her pack.”

His voice was fluid, no pauses or hesitations. She had spoken once more and Teddy paused to consider it. There was something about being on ones own that had made Teddy feel empowered. He only had to think about himself and about what he needed. He only had to look after himself and look after his own back. But then he thought about the fulfillment he had felt on protecting Anathema. He thought about how, sometimes he didnt have anyone to help him and he'd gotten hurt. Anathema was his backup, his safety net should he fall. He gave a soft nod to the dark female.

”I used to think I was fine on my own... But Anathema has showed me that I like protecting other's, not just myself.”

He offered back at her, a small smile playing his lips. His voice had become fluid and smooth, his charming nature pushing through despite his lack of interest in the female beside him. Sexually at least.

ooc: I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner! I have midterms these weeks.

Nyx recalled the past, when she was a loner. She didn't mind the alone part, but being a social creature, she enjoyed the company of others. Though in her own time and space she was able to let her mind wander more with less distraction. To find inspiration to create and exploring the land and perhaps meeting a few others. Though after her pack was killed, she became cautious. True to her name, she stuck to traveling and hunting at night. Mostly keeping to the shadows for protection, she traveled to Souls. Is was as if she felt more of a kinship to the moon rather then the sun as well. Taught the skills of survival she executed them well after the pack was killed. Her parents had told her about Souls, and about different packs. All in all, Nyx enjoyed pack life and was grateful for the protection of a pack and a home to call her own.

She picked up on his comment."We never are truly alone ," She said with a slim smile on her lips. Suddenly, flashes of the past played upon the recess of her mind. "Once my pack was killed in war, I had managed to escape and find Anathema," She heard herself saying. She hadn't told anyone in Anathema yet about this, not even Naniko. The past was the past, Nyx was one who would rather not dwell upon it, reliving sadness. She wanted to live in the now, exploring the life around her, not the death behind her. She felt somewhat comfortable with Teddy beside her, even though she wasn't entire sure of him. She didn't mind him at all.

As Nyx reopened her eyes yellow green eyes, they meet blue. She felt something behind those eyes, yet it wasn't readable on his face at all, even though she had meet a smile. It dissipated when Teddy turned his face to the night once again. It really was a beautiful night, clear with th fresh scent of winter. She cast her glance to the sights around them, outcroppings of the rocks- the mountain terrain. Everything was covered in a layer of snow. Nyx found it beautiful, especially how the moon reflected upon it, illuminating the snowy landscape. A small gust of wind ruffled her dark fur and her feather earring fluttered softly in it. She lifted her hand to keep it steady until the wind slowed.

"That's an odd way to find trust, almost killing each other," She could imagine Teddy and Naniko fighting. He was such a large strong wolf, Nyx couldn't imagine many others challenging him. Naniko, could be tough as well and she was large and strong , especially for a female. It must have been a fierce battle. He kept talking and she nodded to his comment on protecting Anathema, instead of being alone. She felt herself smiling again. She'd been smiling a lot tonight, she was grateful for it and enjoyed Teddy's company."I understand. It is good that you have a pack to protect" It was truly good that he had found his niche. She hoped to find hers in the crafstmen tier. Creating was her passion, she knew that could bring a lot to the pack if she was able to get into the tier. Her jewelry making, carving small things, making leather packs; there was a lot to bring.

She was distracted in her own thoughts until she looked back to Teddy. There was a change in his voice and tone, fluid and smooth. She noticed how handsome Teddy was, snapping back to reality she gave him a smile. Nyx really wasn't much a a flirtatious girl. She was almost a year and hadn't had much experience in these matters. Of course she had encounters but she usually ignored them. If she liked anyone, she felt that it was easier to be herself then pretend to be something that she was not.

Teddy didnt exactly know what to think of the woman in front of him. She was new to Anathema and therefore may not have really picked up on their ways. But she also seemed like a very abstract person. Someone who saw the world in a completely different way. She was interesting to say the least and when she spoke it appeared that she had a world of weight on her shoulders. She spoke very briefly about how her pack was killed before she came to Anathema. Although Teddy and his brother had been beaten for most of their youth, at least he was mostly certain his father and mother were still alive. And there was no way his brother would allow someone to kill him. The only way Lochlan was going was in his sleep, at a very old age. And that was the only way Teddy would have it too.

"I'm sorry about your pack... But at least you have family again."

In a rare moment of compassion for another being other than himself, Teddy offered a small condolence to the black wolf. Although they weren't close-knit right now, they were all joined by blood. Even if it was just a little of their blood connected through Naniko or Azalea, it was better than nothing at all. Family would always be welcome at their door and they would need to acceptance ceremony to get in again. He gave a soft snort as Nyx commented on his and Naniko's relationship. It was an odd one, but Teddy liked it that way. They werent normal and that made him happy that she was his leader. She was also an abstract person, one that certainly should not be messed with.

"I had just called her pretty at the time, so it was fair play to her."

He reasoned with a soft chuckle. This comment also wouldnt make sense to the new female, but it made sense to him. Or at least, it made sense to him now. Teddy perved on anyone and Naniko was obviously a woman who didnt trust males. When he had looked her up and down and made his standard complimentary comment about her, she had flipped. And her poisoned daggers had been close at hand. It would have been anyone call. She smiled softly and brought her yellow eyes up to meet his own blue. She was a nice female, just no where near consideration for a lay. And since that was mostly what Teddy thought about, this was what he considered now. She spoke once more and he nodded.

"And I enjoy it all the better because its my choice to do so."

He commented, leaving it a little cryptical. He wouldnt tell her why but she could guess all the same. The moon jumped out at him from its high point and the young warrior almost snorted. The moon was a thing of pure science, as were the stars. It was a shame the blonde pup couldnt come round to his way of thinking. Or at least, his fathers way of thinking.
