SSWM question

I might just be being really blonde but I was wondering if someone could answer this question for me;;

Does the SSWM have to start with all new threads on the 1st January or can I start with existing threads and start my post count from 1st January onward?

Does that make any sense?

The post is what matters, not the thread. :3 So, no, absolutely not -- all posts made in your current threads after the first will count for SSWM and there is no need to count only new threads. ^^; Just make sure you use the posted button or a similar method to link directly to the post. :3

would i still be able to do the contest even if i'm going on vacation for a week in january? ;;

You can start at any point in January. It doesn't matter as long as all words are posted in January.

If you're familiar with NaNoWriMo, I've known lots of people who've gotten late starts or floundered at the beginning, and then came back really strong for the final stretch. :3
