9. i. There were so many memories here. The first time she had visited the lake had been exciting – it was then that she’d had a bit of experience with some real flirting. His name had been… Gem? Something along those lines – and the girl who had accompanied them, Camilla, had been quite interesting as well. Lyris grinned, proud to be able to say that she had memories. It felt good to have been somewhere for so long, and to have no plans to leave anytime soon.
Spring was finally here – she knew for sure, for the rose bushes already had tiny green buds. In only a few weeks, they would open up and show their bright, happy faces to the world again. Sadly, she’d have to wait till then to breath their pretty scent. She paused at the lakeside, humming merrily to herself – though it was no song in particular. She had even more inspiration to sing and hum since her encounter with the lovely Jasper Citrine, and her happy mood let her do this as often as she wished.
ii. The unpleasant memory of Chute d'Eau Peak was surely starting to fade. She had met up with Tarika on her last visit - a good day. He hadn't been around much lately, and she was getting concerned... truthfully, she hadn't seen him for a long time. The possibility that what they had together was fading away made her heart heavy. She tried not to think about it as she scaled the cliff side, made slippery by melting snow.
Once she was at the height of the waterslide, she saw something that nearly caused her heart to stop. A pretty female was balancing on a makeshift boat, just starting to slide down! Immediately Lyris recalled going down the slide without any boat, and how painful it had been. Maybe this girl was trying to commit suicide. But she was smiling, and looked like she was having the time of her life. She must not know how dangerous the water was! On land, Lyris ran alongside the girl, shouting worriedly at her as she did so. "Hey, do you need help? Are you okay? That's really... dangerous!"
iii. She soon decided that it was very unpleasant to walk in the slush; before long, she found herself damp halfway up her legs. She had also seen many marshes in her lifetime, and now she regretted trying to satisfy her curiosity about this one. Her initial appreciation of its beauty had waned, and now she was ready to go home. However, her attention was diverted to the silhouette of a swarthy canine, and she paused while he spoke. The first thing that came to mind was the question of what on earth a dog was doing here in the middle of winter. It was an odd thing to see, rather spontaneous, she’d say – but he was a striking creature, his coat the color of pitch and his eyes a soft chocolate.
She may have replied to his greeting, but they were approached by another canine, a wolf this time. He had strikingly gold eyes and a coat of many different colors, a wide contrast to the dog also among them. River nodded once, letting that serve as a greeting for the both of them. "Hello. This is a dreary place, hmm?" She felt she may as well get a conversation going, even if it did turn out to be slightly cynical.
Yeah, kinda a strange way to give y'all examples, but I was feeling energetic.
