The winds of change had once again arrived for her. No matter how long she stayed away it seemed that Phoenix was the home she would return to time and time again. There was just no other alternative. This was where she was meant to stay and that was it. The black goddess moved swiftly through the trees of the southern forests as she made her way to the location of Phoenix Valley with great haste in order to see Jefferson and the others again. She missed them greatly and hoped that they would remember her from the time that she had been gone. Angel could feel the tension as she got closer to Phoenix Valley with memories flooding her mind.

The most prominent memory she had was when Ty and Pendez defended her against Bruton who had raped her that night. She felt terrible because she did not defend herself well enough to be prepared for something like that, especially when she should have told Jefferson in the first place. Not only did she put herself in danger but she put her members in danger as well. It was wrong of her not to say anything and her time away from Phoenix told her enough and helped her to grow. As she neared the borders her body stood in the light in her normal wolf form. Her body had become more muscular since the last time the pack had seen her and at the same time more slender too. Though she had gained muscle she lost weight by being used to running so her legs carried more muscle than normal. Tilting her head to the skies her ears pinned to her skull and she announced a howl to the world mainly to the Phoenix Valley members of her return.

Angel had come home.

The morning could not have been more quiet these days. Angel had been hunting all morning on a herd of paranoid elk that had also been recently hunted on it seemed like. Perhaps one of the packs to the west. She could smell the very fear from them in her nostrils and for three hours already she had stalked them in her feral form. Her body had become greatly sore from all of the work she had put into it already and every little noise that sprung into the air made it hurt worse for the fear of losing her target entirely. Her target was a bull elk with a massive leg injury. It had claws dug in to the skin like knives. Some one in their secondary form she assumed from the size of it. As she snaked her way closer she avoided any way to alert the herd of her presence as much as possible even tasting the wind to guess its direction. So long as she stayed down wind of them she would be fine. The herd didn't stop for a second as they continued their walking pace of uncertainty. They also ate on the move as Angel continued to watch them. It was finally that the breeze shifted and her scent soon moved towards the herd. Cursing to herself she watched as the herd soon picked up the scent and reacted accordingly. They shifted their direction south and began to move swiftly away with all the ruckus in the world that could be created. Angel was quick to follow.

The woman knew she would not have to do much with the injured bull elk. His injury made it snow he could not move as swiftly as he could before. He eyed Angel behind him and called out to the others to keep running as he did the unthinkable. He turned and faced his pursuer. Angel scoffed to this and then she too dodged left to go around his flank and he followed with a swipe of his antlers. She knew it would be difficult to get a paw on him with the large set of antlers he had and he reared up hesitantly feeling the pain in his leg. Angel knew if she could get around him on the other side to make the injury worse she could possibly trip him up and make it easier for the kill. Shifting to her larger middle form she snarled at the elk who still held fast against her and began to charge with his heavy limp at her. She dodged to the left again and knocked him sideways with a slash of her paw and finally she came down on his throat and snapped it ending its life. Sighing she knew her kill was hers and she would eat of it as she wanted and pull the rest of it back for the pack.

With the leather from the elk she had she had been drying it out the last day or two to make decent blankets out of it. When winters came sometimes her fur wasn't enough to keep her warm so she made clothing out of the leather and used them for protection against the elements. Though some found it funny to wear clothing she did not if it meant her survival in the least. Plus for some reason it helped to mask her scent so that in turn also made it easier. She pulled at the insides of other animals that she had recently killed for her ever popular jerky she made every now and then. Her pack mates used to enjoy it so much so she was constantly making it. As the meat cooked over the fire she began to put on her glaze for it which was an oil made from certain herbs and spices she found. Once the glaze was on brushed by her horse hair wooden brush she had made, she got up to let it cook more.

Walking over to the horses she kept for her anti-venom uses she began to feed them the hay they got fed daily. Grain that she had collected from wheat and combined it with oats, which was one of their favorite treats, she placed them in the buckets they got fed in and they ate happily. Other than her pack mates the horses were her other friends that she was with from time to time. Daily she would take a different horse out to ride each morning so they got their exercise and they seemed to enjoy that. Sniffing the air she smelled her jerky and she looked over to see that it was almost done so then Angel quickly took it off the fire so she could dry it out in her smoker she made. It added the necessary jerky flavor she always liked made by cedar flakes. This would definitely be a treat for her tonight.
