Gentle blinking of eyes brought up the newest awakening of a daughter.

A very particular daughter, in fact, of a very particular pair of leaders.

Her pudgy body stirred from its huddled position on the floor of the roomy cave, and the gentle sounds of puppy life met her ears from her own self as it went. Sweet as always, she smiled at her sleeping brother and moved away from him, toward the entrance to the den, where she sat down to remain vigilant for the rest of the morning.

She may have been a sweetheart, but Talitha was certainly not born to be a pushover. Obedient was she, and yet strong-willed; stubborn when it came to all others but her father and her mother.

Most specifically her father, whom she adored like the sun in the sky and the sand under her feet.

Faolin was stretched out beside the two, hoping to grab a couple more moments of sleep before either Tali or Zeki had decided to wake her or her duties call. It was a tiring past couple of days and she had more things to do such as checking the borders a couple of times that day. With the wolves being so restless it was hard to predict whether they would already start fighting over territories. Inferni was strong right now, stronger than it had been at the death of Bleeding Souls. It was a good change and they were a powerful force not to be reckoned with. But, those thoughts escaped her mind at the moment as she was awoken from her sleep at the scuffle of paw steps on the cave floor. That was another thing, they would need new bedding and such. It was strange not sleeping in a bed and a house.

Her muzzle still rested on her paws and she opened her eyes slowly watching her daughter rise from the spot she was at and go towards the entrance of the cave. Faolin raised her muzzle expecting her to walk right out, but she did not and stopped to stare outside. A smile crept over her muzzle and she quietly rose to her feet trotting out towards her daughter, stepping over Ezekiel trying not to disturb the sleeping boy. Her tail wagged back and forth and she laid beside the youth.

"What are you thinking about, Tali?" she asked, chuckling lightly. Her muzzle turned and her tongue slipped out of her mouth giving a comforting lick to Talitha's back, smoothing out the fur that was ruffled from sleep. It was a big change for two small puppies, but they would get used to it. They were not attached to the lands of Inferni and their roots did not dig so deep within the sands like Faolin's had been. What if Segodi had come back in search for them and ended up finding nothing? Or, Nyika or Tedros. How she had missed them. Frowning slightly she dropped her head, turning back to face the outside air and closing her crimson orbs. It was so peaceful here and she hoped to get up and start exploring through the territory in a couple moments. Perhaps her and Talitha could take a walk while they let Ezekiel sleep. That would be a good idea, but she would hold off on it for now.

Home, she responded immediately to the question, eyes turning with her head as she looked upward to her mother.

Her tail thumped the sand as her forepaws thumped their own beat against it, a melody that was unknown to her, or at least physically. She made it up as it went along, or remembered it; one could not be entirely sure which it was. She would've hummed it if she was any good at humming, but in reality, the young girl wasn't much for the talent.

In her mind, a lark flew across the picture. Her hunter's instinct bade her follow it, but she stayed where she was, having answered her mother's question but not yet elaborated.

And anyway, she needed to stay here and take care of her family, like her dad did.

Wh'r' a'e we? she questioned, remembering having asked this one before, but not exactly recalling the answer. She would ask that question several times to come, at least until she got her bearings and forgot about Bleeding Souls. This place was definitely not the beach where she was born.

She knew she would never forget that place. Not without forcing herself, at least not in her heart.

Faolin frowned slightly as her daughter mentioned the word home. She had hoped it would not shake the little one's all too much with moving, but even they grew attached to their home by the beach back on Inferni. The ocean was not too far away, in fact you could reach it from their own territory, but it was a bit further than she liked it to have been. Her heart ached, she missed her home land and it seemed that it had taken a bit of a toll on her children. Talitha's tail moved back and forth at a slow wag and she smiled, shaking her head back and forth.

"I'm sorry darling, we can't go home. Inferni is no longer there," she sighed and her eyes fell to her paws again. Although, it would be nice to rebuild the future with this new reestablished Inferni. Everything was going well for them, they had large numbers, much larger than any of the other packs. Her ears perked up and she looked out following Talitha's gaze.

"Well, I don't know really, we are not really far, far away from our old home. This will be our new home from now on," she choked out, it was hard to admit that they would never be going back. Giving her head a shake she rose to her feet her muzzle dropping and licking the fur along her daughter's shoulders. "Let's say we go explore a bit!?" her head tilted to the side, red eyes looking down upon the young girl. She was already two months old, how time flew by. It felt like only the previous day that she had found out she was pregnant, after the entire mix up with Phoenix. She hoped he was okay, she hoped everyone was okay. It had been awhile since she had seen Jesile, she wondered where he had disappeared off to. Sighing she shook her head and turned back to Talitha, waiting for her answer.
She didn't put up much of a fuss when she learned that they weren't going back; it wasn't like this place was that much different than that place to the youngster. A minimal falling of her expression greeted the idea of never going back, but her attention didn't remain fixed on the much gentler beach they had left behind. Her mother's tongue against her shoulders washed away all thought of it, and she giggled girlishly, tail thwapping harder against her own sides as she listened.

'Kay, le's go! She was eager to get to know this new land, to perhaps forget about the other. Hastily, the girl turned on her big paws and went marching off in the random direction she had chosen, which was down the beach and in the direction of the tumbling ocean. She didn't even look back to see if her mother was following; silly mommy would just have to keep up, wouldn't she?
The gentle thwaping of her tail back and forth against her small body made Faolin smile. She let out a sigh realizing there really was not much to freak out about. This place was so different, yet so similar to Inferni. Maybe they could build another house down by the beach this time. Her tail followed the pace her daughter's tail did and she watched as she made her way out and onto the smooth rock face of the outside of the den. Crimson eyes watched her carefully for a couple moments, noting some things that were starting to alight them selves in Faolin's eyes. Realizing she was falling a bit behind she smiled and gave a short nod before following behind her at a slower pace so Talitha could lead them wherever she had wanted to go.

"Don't go too fast! I might not be able to keep up!" Faolin laughed quickly covering the distance that separated the two. They seemed to be heading towards the beach, a place Faolin had barely spent since they arrived. It reminded her too much of home and she felt sick every time she thought about how they had to leave. Everything was lost in the fire, except the important stuff. There were a few friends probably lost, but Faolin would not know for another long while. Once the pack's settled down, maybe they ran in the opposite direction. She sighed, wondering if she would ever see any of her old friend's again. Shaking her head she turned her attention back to Talitha, smiling and giving her a nudge with her wet black knows, jabbing the girl in the side and laughing playfully. She gave a nip to her ear before dashing off ahead at a pace Talitha could keep up with. Her tail wagged back and forth behind her as she waited to be captured.
Silly mom, of course she could keep up! In the world of children, Faolin was a veritable behemoth, and Talitha just the normal size. Even Ezekiel was a tiny bit bigger than her, but she had to keep in mind that he was a boy and that that was how it was supposed to work. Never had she questioned why it worked like that, but never had she found the compulsion to know more than that which she already did. Innocence, not ignorance, was bliss for her, and even if there was the element of ignorance about it all, she didn't need it to be so said. She was quite content to live the life she had now for the rest of... Forever.

C'mon, ma! Her paws churned the sand wildly in her rush down to the ocean, and she could only giggle uncontrollably when her mother came up beside her and poked her. She felt like the wind was going to lift her off her feet at any second, especially when she tried to urge her disproportionate puppy legs to carry her and her baby fat even faster after her mother. Her laughing grew louder as she ran, and a determined expression took up residence where confusion had been prior.

I'mma ge'shoo! she promised, rushing after her mother now with no thought any longer of the water.
Sorry for the wait. <3

Everything Faolin had felt. Every little worry she had thought imaginable, well, it all disappeared in these moments. Everything felt so perfect. So, right. Like, nothing could tear her away from this place. Nothing could tear her away from her family, Gabriel, Talitha, Ezekiel. Nobody would ever put harm on her family. Nothing would happen to them. Her heart swelled with pride as she grinned as Talitha piped up with a, c'mon ma!. Grinning wildly Faolin laughed as the girl started to chase her now, running down the beach, closer to the ocean. It was warmer weather now and the ocean was probably not that cold. Faolin turned as she was near the water, letting her paws run over the waves as they came up the beach. Splashing along noisily as she ran, turning her head back with her ears perked to see if Talitha had given up yet on chasing down her lanky mother.

She slowed her pace and spun around, but lost her foot and fell in the sand laughing as Talitha caught up. "Doesn't this remind you of home. There are times I forget we are away from our old lands," she commented, staring out over the ocean. She rolled on her back and stared at the ocean with her head upside down. Red eyes glowed in a motherly way as her warm gaze turned back to her daughter. Her tail wagged back and forth happily. These were the moment worth living for no matter what happened in her own life. Those memories would forever be stored and she would always make new ones. Nothing would take Talitha or Ezekiel away from her, nothing would destroy her perfect little family she had. Nothing would destroy her or put harm to anyone, any longer. Faolin promised herself that.
