Due to not being able to keep up with drama at home, along with not really catching hold of Davyn, this will be his last IC post, and I will resign to lurker status.
The wind caught his fur, whipping it back and forth. Davyn thought about shivering, then lost interest in that thought. He thought he had been doing really well here. But the storm had claimed the happiness that had been dwelling in his heart, frozen it solid, and shattered the ice that remained, leaving nothing but darkness.
Davyn stood at the edge of the cliff, holding the sketches that at one point in time had seemed so lifelike. Tears fell from his eyes as the cries of his family drifted on the wind. He knew it wasn’t really his family he heard, just the cries of the past that he would finally succumb to. He shook all over, and without a second thought, threw his arms out, letting the wind catch the sheaves of paper and scatter them to all corners of the world. It wasn’t like he was going to be needing the reminders of his past anyway.
He inhaled, sneezing at the cold that met his nose, and decided. The fates could do nothing to change his mind. He spread his arms wide, let the air catch him, holding his body in limbo, and Davyn’s mind drifted to the past once again, finally caught there for good. The memories spun in his mind as he tipped his weight forward.
Davyn’s eyes popped open as the feeling of weightlessness caught up to him, but he didn’t see the water or the rocks rushing to meet him. He saw his family, their accusing eyes, and he cried out, desperate to make the wrongs right, to take back everything he had or hadn’t done right for them. As the water closed over his head, he took one deep breath, letting the water fill his lungs as his vision darkened, knowing that there would be those that would miss him, but his decision had been made and fulfilled.
