sullen shadows

It shouldn't have grated on her nerves that the Sadiras had gathered back again into the old pack, though this time with a new name, but it did. Perhaps because none of them was a face she knew or once had loved, but instead of trying to find out more about them or venture towards their lands she turned the other way and had stalked deeper into the area of the dark forest that she'd claimed as home. In another form she'd sunken deeper into her shattered self, brooding over the past few years of her life and wondering if she'd ever track across these lands and find out just what had happened to her old packmates and family.. on the other hand she was afraid she didn't want to know.. just incase it was just another rock to shatter the slivers of her hollow heart.

The edge of her woods was always sunken in shadows, even when the meadow was blasting with sunlight, she didn't mind it at all though, it was just fitting. This day she was perched atop the boulder in the sunlight staring into the darkness and gloom of the woodlands. She was reminded of another place she use to do this, a place that was no more. The old boulder was probably still there, but she doubted anything else was. Tempted to return to the old lands and try and find something to cling to, but she couldn't. She had left the fire burn down her bridges and the temptation just wasn't worth it. No more could she travel those roads of happiness and heartbreak.

This was a new world and a new home, she was free... but she wasn't herself anymore. Someone new seemed to have inhabited the frame that once was the loving and happy being. Now dark thoughts and cruel voices seemed to tempt her away from the world. She was tired of everything she once knew, she wanted something different, something more...
