Recalling the salty scent of ocean air upon first approaching the borders of Dahlia, Alae and Kael wandered back to that very starting point, and a little bit further than they ventured the last time. Finding another roadway eroded and beginning to be covered with the overgrowth of the terrain, the Luperci and the owl hopped on the path to where it would lead. Last time, an old asphalt road like this led to an ancient metropolis by the name of Halifax. Knowing where there were roads, there were sure to be ancient human establishments either still standing or in ruins. Where there was ruins, there were valuable items to be found, no matter how much of it seemed to be scrap junk. This place seemed to be resourceful with it.

This road, however, remained to be stretching along the coastline for quite some time; not leading to anywhere in particular. Finding that they could walk (and fly, for the owl's sake) for miles more without running into anything meaningful, Alae and Kael came off the asphalt and descended down to the sandy smear of vacant beaches below. While the weather was progressively warmer due to Spring, but still too cold to even think about wading into shallow waters, the Dahlian Subordinate danced and strayed along the dampened sand of the surf. Kael soared further out from shore, becoming a rival of the pelicans, seagulls, and any other bird that claimed the skies over the Bay of Fundy as their own.

Coming upon a washed up eel, Alae was surprised to see this area inhabited eel of all oceanic species. Eel was considered a delicacy and difficult to catch near Ireland, and was considered an imported item. Picking up the remains, Alae decided to carry the slimy eel with her, seeing as how it could suffice as a meal for herself and Kael later on in the evening. Scourging the shoreline and several rocky areas near the surf, there was also an assortment of mussels upon the rocks to investigate. Even while she only had her leather-bound pack, Alae took to scavenging some mussels that would be useful for a meal later on. Seafood had always been a delicacy, and Alae would take advantage of taking what could be sought to enjoy on this clear skied afternoon.

Sorry, started writing this yesterday but didn’t finish till now Sad. I hope its not too long. You inspired me to be “semi-interesting too! :> WC-1300+

Compared to some of the days Jaden had experienced lately, today was a good one. No one had picked a fight with him yet. No coyotes or cougars annoyingly surprised him. Today was peaceful. The only thing threatening this nice day was Jaden’s mentality: he no longer had anything to live for. It was just as simple as that. He had no one to hunt any longer, no home to go back to or pack to call family. No one would care if he suddenly just up and disappeared. But he pushed those thoughts out of his mind. He wanted to have a good day today, and getting blue about life wouldn’t help.

The male had decided to take a stroll down the beach. Sand and ocean waves were comforting because they reminded him so much of Alaska. Many times had he walked down a beach or just sat on the sand and watched the sea while his mind mauled whatever drifted to his attention. Often now, those thoughts were of Alaska and his past and would sour the man’s mood if he found them today. So, he was walking with slow strides, body relaxed and eyes darting about for things to fill his mind besides his past.

Along the land locked edge of the beach there was a thin tree line. It was more broken then it would be naturally because of the road that cut it from the rest of the forestry. The trees were very much alive though, despite their scarcity and stood tall and green. Some came right up to the sand where their roots erupted from the shoreline as a testament to their will to survive.

They reminded Jaden of years before when he had first started his archery training. His uncle was the most skilled archer in their pack and had decided to pass his knowledge down to the amateur assassin. One exercise they practiced was climbing a tree and shooting at buzzards. Jaden recalled his uncle’s words, “When you can hit a bird in the sky, while maintaining you balance on a tree limb, no ground dwelling creature will stand a chance against your skill.” Perfecting the delicate art it took to do what his uncle expected took the dark red and black Optime almost two years of daily practice. Even then he was lucky to get one hit from every few shots. When climbing in a tree and balancing on limbs, you must also be relatively free of equipment. Only being able to take an arrow or two as ammunition with him at a time called for many times climbing up and down trees.

Instead of dwelling on his now dead uncle, Jaden rushed his mind forward and looked for a perfect archery tree. Each before him was in perfect proximity to seagulls for him to practice once more, but the ones he passed were not ideal of climbing. One he saw was almost all dead. Another had sharp bark and was surrounded by too-hard-to-fall-on-safely rocks. In truth, the thought of actually climbing a tree this day was an abstract idea, until he noticed the perfect maple tree.

It was colossal. The optime stopped all together and just looked up as it towered over him. The tree must have been almost eighty feet tall and grew well into the sandy beach. The only downside to it was a large dead section near the top. The maple looked like it might be beginning to die because of how far it had grown out into the sand. Larger roots erupted out of the sand and looked dead and rotten from the constant salty abuse of the sea. Many had been eaten away by animals or broken off in the tide. The root’s absents left a somewhat soft and sand area near the bottom.

Looking over his shoulder, Jaden noticed a few seagulls riding the thermals of the sea shore. First he thought,Why waist the time? I could get hurt and there is no real point to climbing that tree. He grimaced at the truth, but he could not pass up the tree. He needed to indulge in some recklessness every now and then, didn’t he? After looking at it for a second, he sighed and through down his satchel and shoulder strap. He drew his bow from the satchel and an arrow from his quiver before dragging them to the tree and leaving them near its trunk. Then, he shouldered the bow and with another sigh, jumped up and grabbed for his first hold on the thick maple branches.

Initially getting into the tree was always the difficult part, even for the well trained and somewhat strong Optime. Having to be careful with the sharp arrow head in his right hand just aided to the climb’s difficulty. Once he got past swinging his body onto the first branches though, climbing was considerably easier. Though the tree was over grown with lots of little sucker branches on its larger ones, the big ones were numerous and made great climbing holds. As he cleared ten feet past the first limbs, which were almost ten feet up already, he found a thick, six inch branch that had been split by snow fall. He gave it little attention and a wide birth, thinking to watch for more. He quickly began to encounter numerous other dead limbs as he approached the trees mid section. Soon there were more dead than living branches and the man began to slow his climb, not wanting to grab a branch that would break. His mind warned him to stop, but he ignored it for a minute or two before realizing there were no more living branches above him. Once he stopped, he realized even the one he stood on was dead. He decided it was strong enough to hold him anyway and that he had gotten high enough. He was only about forty feet up, but falling even that would be dangerous.

The view Jaden met at that height was breath taking. Sea stretched into the distance for an eternity and he had clear view of the gulls scavenging the beach bellow. Grinning, he took his bow in hand and armed it. The draw string made a stretching sound as he pulled the arrow back and looked for a victim.

The hunter was dead set on an eye level ‘gull, when another target caught his attention. Floating gracefully above the sand was an Owl! In broad daylight? Jaden wondered skeptically. He knew they were night creatures. Perhaps he is sick, and with that thought, he chose his prey. Owl feathers were very pretty and would make great tails for his arrows too.

Shifting the bow over to take aim at the owl, Jaden pushed his feet evenly out onto the single dead tree branch underneath him for balance. The branch flexed and there was a sudden and loud CRACK! The assassin looked down, “Damn,” he breathed before it gave. The arrow flew harmlessly into the ocean and the bow flew wildly free o the tree as he flailed his arms uselessly. Branches whipped painfully at his body . Some broke away as he passed through the tree. He felt his breath leave him as one particularly large branch caught him right in the groin. He winced and grabbed blindly at the branches for a hold, trying to slow his fall. Branch after branch broke under his weigh bruising his forearms and body. One branch finally did stop his descent, but only for a second. Looking up he saw the same split branch he had noticed on his assent and didn’t even bother cursing this time. He fell the last twenty feet and landed on his feet. He completed a roll to dull the impact, but could not slow his momentum quick enough to keep from eating the sand. He landed in the sand face first with a thud. For a second he just lay there in too much pain and shock to move. Then he slowly pushed himself up and spit out a mouth full of sand. He groaned and rolled onto his back, covered in sand and dazed.

Jaden does. "Jaden speaks." Jaden thinks.

Your post is wonderful! I love your inspiration, you wrote a really engaging post! Sorry mine can't rival your length. D: 500+

The white owl stood out as a sore thumb among the coastal region of Whisper Beach, amid seagulls and pelicans who even double took the sight of a snowy owl soaring through their realm. While the sea breeze was not unfamiliar to Kael during his and Alae's journey from Ireland to the lands of the western hemisphere (for the both of them did travel by boat at one point across the Atlantic), it was very dissimilar from his nocturnal flights in densely packed forests. Freedom was wispy, salty, and cool among the current of wind above the ocean. Expanding his wings as long as they could stretch in either direction, flight was effortless and almost likely a waltz in the sky. Kael's demeanor (although one could never really tell what his true demeanor was) was as casual as the ocean's day itself.

In the owl's peripheral vision, there was a streamlined object heading toward himself at a high velocity, but suddenly (and rather gracefully) shot down to be lost into the waves of the ocean. As soon as this object was witnessed, Kael didn't waste anytime to let the breeze turn his figure sharply, making himself soar into a swift direction downward. There was no bleating chirp or squawk to sound from Kael, as he promptly shifted his gliding back to shoreline. Not certain as to what the object was that attempted to aim for him, it was a certainty it was headed in his general direction, and it was presumed the ocean's skies weren't as safe as thought.

Right at that moment, Alae's ears swiveled back to the sudden commotion of sound. A heavy mass of something could only cause a rotten branch to snap as loudly as it did, and the mayhem the Luperci experienced on his descent down from his climb in a tree caused Alae's sky blue eyes to fly in the direction of the source of the sound. While the arrow shot into the sea was not witnessed by the Dahlian, she caught sight of the Luperci in mid-descent (rather painfully looking) tumbling down the tree to land smack onto his muzzle. Jaw falling agape, Alae gasped at the sight of the Luperci falling onto his face, which could have indirectly damaged his neck and spinal chord.

Dropping the slimy eel, the Subordinate immediately took to dashing over to the stranger, kicking up creamy sand behind in the process. Kael happened to catch sight of this as well, as he soared inland to where he perched rather flustered upon a tree not too far away from the accident site. Coming to a sandy halt, Alae nimbly fell to her knees to his side. He was covered in a sheen of black, with several patches of his fur looking like they were stained red with some sort of dye (Alae assumed the red patches were naturally white). Looking youthful, Alae didn't give a second thought as to what he was doing in the tree in the first place. There was an unidentifiable object not too far away, but she didn't concentrate on that, for her focus was upon any visible injuries the male held. Instantly she placed a (slimy!) palm upon his neck and collarbone for detection of any injuries. "Don't move." The Sidhe said in a demand, eyes roving about his physique. "What's absolutely hurting you the most?" Alae inquired, applying firm pressure in her fingertips across his collarbone.

Aww, I’m glad you liked it =). Quality over quantity! Since your post is awesome we can over look that it’s not amazingly long Wink Jaden has a nice gash on his ribs, and twisted his ankle, but has minor cuts and some nice bruises besides that. WC-500+

The world dimmed for only a second as Jaden’s mind nearly wavered into unconsciousness. His body ached at the abuse he had put it through and his mind crawled into a state similar to slow motion. His first indication of a stranger above him was a wonderful face. Dirty with earthy colors and lined with white, the female’s elegant looks and sent brushed against the man’s dull senses with delicate but affirmative power. The way she contrasted with the blue sky above was breath taking. The only parts of her not fighting the natural color were her beautiful blue eyes. “No,” Jaden mumbled and tried to sit up, “I’m still alive…”His weak attempt was halted with firm pressure on his chest. What he said was not an answer to her words, but more for reassuring himself. Her sudden appearance and beauty invoked the idea that an angle was above him, and thus that he had not survived the fall.

His mind began to clear quickly, but the next emotions Jaden felt were fear for his safety and slightly threatened by the forceful hand on his chest. Instinctually he reached for the dagger that regularly sat near his hip, but found only fur and not the cool handle of his weapon. It still lay sheathed under the maple tree with his satchel. Not having it meant he had to break this unwanted contact manually. With quick and firm speed Jaden grabbed the stranger’s wrist, ready to twist it into a painful hold. He hesitated at how her touch felt though. The way her fur clung to his because of the eel’s slime was enough for him to pause so his mind could clear up the rest of the way. Moments before, she had asked him a question but the Optime’s mind had not processed it yet. He turned his head and looked at her as if finally acknowledging she existed. The pretty features he read showed panic and worry, but he just watched. He said nothing, stopped breathing, and got lost in her eyes. They were such a wondrous blue.

Only a moment later, what she said computed into actual words and a question. Jaden breathed out and felt his body. With a clear mind now the pain was more definite then before. Most every part of him had come in contact with branches in the tree, but there was a relatively sharp, burning pain on his ribs closest to her. He tried to sit up again, but was protested by his own body this time. Relaxing a little bit in the sand, he reached over and felt the painful area on his ribs. “My back is sore—Mm,” he winced and drew his hand back. Blood showed faintly on his dark colored fingers. “But that hurts pretty bad.” He breathed and tried to sit up once more. He felt vulnerable in the position he was in now, but felt an odd will to listen to this strange female. Her presence spoke that she knew what she was doing and he watched her for some guidance, hoping she would tell him it wasn’t as bad as it felt.

Thanks for the heads up! 500+

The wounded male's declaration of life would have otherwise made Alae grin coquettishly, although his current state wasn't in a place or time for humor to show. Suddenly taking the weight of his words into consideration, Alae was fretful if he caused a concussion upon him by colliding with the Earth so unpleasantly. It was a possibility, and as the black and red male laid dazed for several moments, the Sidhe took the opportunity to lock gaze with him. His eyes challenged the depth of the ocean's blue, a deep navy difficult to resist from observing. Her own sky blue eyes were looking for dilation of his pupils beyond the beauty of his eyes, attempting to note any telltale signs that a strike to his head was likely from the distance he fell from the tree.

The Dahlian didn't pay any attention to little movement he did with his free hand, but in the next moment her wrist was suddenly seized swiftly by his grasp. Alae didn't gasp, but her arm suddenly went hard. Her breath stopped for that moment as well, taking little seeping streams into her nostrils, her eyes widening at his own. Her touch had been unwelcome in that moment, and Alae remained perfectly still as light and dark blue eyes clashed with one another. Among his eyes she observed the chiseled nature of his facial features; he was not old, but not necessarily young either. Remaining still as stone, he could easily sprain her wrist even in his wounded position. She did not do any more motions, not moving a single muscle until he realized her purpose.

He relaxed, which caused her tensed arm to relax only slightly. Attempting to sit up, Alae let him do what he wanted in free range of movement. Wary from his sudden seizure of her wrist, she didn't want to make anymore physical contact unless it was verbally warranted by him. Testing out his range of mobility, the Sidhe observed this while he felt his side for pain. Expressing back ache, his fingers revealed crimson that was hard to discern against the dark color of his coat, but her searching eyes could see the faint outline of a gash through his side. "You didn't fracture a rib, thankfully. Just a gash, but a deep one." Alae said, noting the tell-tale signs of such. If he had been in short of breath, severe pain, and coughing up blood, it would have been a different story. A gash was still just as painful, but thankfully flesh could scar and heal better than bone could. He was a fortunate one.

Alae had to get him to the ocean's edge immediately. Fortunately for him, salt water was a natural antiseptic to sterilize open wounds. Casting a glance over her shoulder, she judged their position in relation to the shoreline. While movement probably wasn't his first alternative, it was necessary in this situation. "I need to get you to the water, to sterilize your wound. I'll help you up." The Sidhe demanded of him, not giving room for any attentiveness. Despite how she was not aware of any other problems except for the gash and numerous scrapes suffered from the fall, she assumed he would suffice enough to get to the water to cleanse his wound, and then Alae could work from there. Standing up, her hand extended down to reach his own and pull him up, if needed.

Big GrinD Jaden is afraid of water! You are just so inspiring!<3 WC~800.

Glad to be in a less vulnerable position beneath the gaze of this kind female, Jaden listened to her assurance that he had not broken a rib. He knew this already, but nodded in acknowledgment anyway and said nothing. A year ago he had broken a rib and dislocated his shoulder when attacked by one of his angered pack mates. Thankfully he didn’t recognize either pain in him now. Having such sever injures usually again would mean his life was in more jeopardy than the assassin thought.

Jaden continued to monitor his body for new pains and strains as his new acquaintance thought of what to do. Her voice was urgent and left nearly no room for protest. It scared Jaden a little in all truth. If his injures were in fact not all that bad, what was her reason for using such a tone? Maybe simply because they were still strangers, but what if it was WORCE then if felt? What if my poor choice to climb that damn dead tree will permanently scare, or even kill me? Such thoughts clouded Jaden’s mind and distracted him from the idea that he might actually have to submerse himself in the ocean’s dark waves.

“Thank you,” Jaden said as the pretty optime offered him help and her hand. “I think I might have twisted my ankle.” He added as a small shock of pain protested his movement of it. He began to stand and took careful care not to pull over the other female. The male had a bigger build then her and felt it was necessary not to depend solely upon her to pull him up. He was also beginning to feel weak and the masculine part of him urged for some show of toughness. Using her for balance, he pushed himself up on his relatively uninjured leg, then stood and put pressure on the injured ankle. A small whine escaped the wolf when an unexpected sharp pain confirmed his twisted ankle. He stumbled a step or two into the other wolf and ended up having to catch himself on her. “Yes, that’s definitely twisted,” He said through clenched teeth and regained his balance as quickly as he could, a little embarrassed despite the pain.

The sea churned softly and lapped at the beach as Jaden limped toward the stranger’s wishes, trying to keep her close in case he lost his balance again. They didn’t have to travel far, but the male’s eyes never left the sand right at his feet. His teeth were clenched and he pushed himself to get to the water. Wind blew lightly off the water and stirred Jaden’s fur as they approached.

Unfortunately, Alea knew nothing about Jaden. Who he was and what he feared were completely unknown to her as well. If she had known him better, she would have thought twice about taking him into the water. The past that haunted Jaden’s dark eyes held terror he hid. First contact with the water was when he seized up. His good paw slipped into cold, ankle deep water that chilled him to the core. Images suddenly flashed to life in his eyes. A frozen pond in the Alaskan wilderness. Dark figures carrying a young pup against its will. The poor black and white lupus twisting and fighting its Optime captors: Ava Atka’s lead members wearing dark cloaks and offering no comfort to the terrified pup. The trees stood tall, dressed in the similarly emotionless skeleton of winter and looked on as a cruel ritual was reenacted on this innocent, young wolf. Suddenly, freezing cold air whip past the pup’s wet nose as it was tossed onto the ice. A cold, cracking impact followed by an even colder embrace. Then silence. Darkness. Deathly dark blue pulling at little limbs. Little claws scratching at the white that separated them from life-giving air. Jaden could see those little black claws so vividly. They were so helpless. They were so innocent. They were his.

The memory struck such a chilling fear into Jaden that he had not taken in anything for an unsure amount of time. The state of his still upset mind had prompted a reaction to the water the assassin had never felt so fully. He blinked his eyes and could see the cold blue that now sucked all the pride and strength from him. He was standing further in it, but whether he had stumbled or been ushered gently into it, he could not remember. He hoped the other wolf was close to finishing and looked for her. He had had nightmares so similar to this. If she was still near for his pleading eyes to find, what comfort it would provide to know he was not dreaming and alone.

-loves when good plots unfold on their own- <3 700+

When it came to wounds and lesions, even if they seemed insignificant, it was easy for anyone to be infected in this day and age. Alae studied the viruses that existed in the human world, and even back in the ancient times they were fairly abundant among humans; enough to where they were potential to kill the young and healthy. If the Luperci virus wasn't alone enough to be able to switch mere animals to have human like abilities (with homage to the humans making such a virus), it was essential for anyone to get treatment as soon as possible. There were no vaccines like there were from the past, all of which were outdated and dried up. There were some placebos that held significant value to them (as Alae had been studying upon the pills she could collect), but they themselves were a thing of the past. Reverting back to even the human ancestor's practices of herbal treatment was the best anyone could do, and there was a world of resources to be found around them besides herbs and plants. Thankfully the two were in the right location, at the right time by the presence of saltwater, nature's sterilizer.

Offering appreciation for pulling him to his feet, Alae said nothing as he monitored the rest of his body. It was also easier for the Sidhe to detect anything obtrusive that might have been prodding from his physique. As any natural male would, he was much bigger in build and breadth than herself. While Alae still would contribute extra strength to carry him alongside her, he would still be a challenge nonetheless. Discovering pressure on one leg led to the uncovering of a twisted ankle, it was another indicator of distress. Trying to balance him accordingly, Alae placed a firm grip upon his waist and shoulders. "Easy. We'll take it slow." Alae murmured, as she helped guide the both of them to meddle to the shoreline. Thankfully it wasn't far in distance as it looked, as the icy waters slid softly up the sand from a wave. The ocean's water instantly numbed her feet and claw like toes, despite how they needed to wash his gash in freezing water.

The male seemed rather distant all of a sudden, captured in his own little world as Alae scooped up saltwater and splashed it over his incision. It might have felt odd for anyone else, especially a female to be running her palms and fingers over a stranger's torso, but she sanitized the wound like she was sterilizing a flustered child when they were hurt. She was gentle, and sterilized as quick as possible without any added pressure. It seemed like the blood at the injury site was beginning to slow the more water that was applied, but Alae attempted to take a little time with cleaning it as thoroughly as possible, despite how she didn't know of the male's fear of water. However, the distant nature his facade displayed was something she noticed, and began to wonder if perhaps he was sea sick, or sick overall. "Are you feeling any other distress? Sick to your stomach, maybe?" Alae commented, finishing up on cleansing his torso as best as she could, and then applying the back of her cold hand to his forehead to test for any sudden hike in temperature.

The freezing saltwater was a good applier upon his twisted ankle, as there was no such thing as icepacks in this world; killing two birds with one stone. It was probably best to keep his twisted ankle in the water a little bit longer, so the cold would reduce any swelling. "It'd be best to keep your ankle in the ocean a little longer to compress the injury, but if you'd like, we can sit you down by the shoreline where your ankle would still have contact. Or, apply a cold ocean's rock upon it. Are you alright?" Alae then asked, noticing the hollowness of his features. Of course, nobody would be alright after a fall like that, but there seemed to be something else ailing him. She could only do as best as she could with reading his external features, but anything internal had to be vocalized by him.

The cold on Jaden’s torso was even more deathly chilling then it had been on his paws. He felt the female’s hands on his body too, gently washing the nice gash he had acquired during his fall. He would have questioned why she was so willing to help but as he stood and felt the irrational fear from his memories her motives seemed less important. She was surely kind and he attributed it to that and pushed his mind back to slowing his racing heart.

Her touch took his attention again as she reached up and felt his forehead. “No… No I’m alright,” He breathed in response. His stomach was a little uneasy because of stress, but nothing worth complaining about. Every instinct in his body urged him to jump to land and be dry, and that was simply all that ailed him. He was desperately trying to keep calm. When she suggested longer exposure to the water, he wouldn’t have it. “I have herbs that will help the swelling but I would like to sit. There is no need to let either of us stand this cold water any longer.” He kept his voice steady and took her cold hand with a warm and genital grip. Trying to usher her toward the shore despite his injured leg, he sent a well faked smile to the female. “What kind of a male would I be to let such a beautiful wolf freeze?”

It took only a few painful steps to reach the edge of the water and only a few more to be safe from the waves. Once they found dry sand, the Alaskan released the other wolf’s delicate hand and sat awkwardly on the soft surface. He hoped he had warmed her cool grip, but was truly more relieved to be out of the water.

Now that he was sat down free to rest, he did. Only a few minutes passed while the male let his paws regain their feeling and his heart slow. He didn’t wait long to speak to his heroin. “You didn’t have to do that.” He said, looking to her and rubbing the bruises on his forearms. “I can’t say I would have helped a complete stranger with as much care.” He paused and watched for a reaction to his words, “But thank you. My name is Jaden, it’s very nice to meet you.”

Any other might have left the tree meanderer for dead, or would have left him unnoticed. It was his fortunate and chance alone to be in the company of a healer from the Dahlian soil, and Alae tended to make the best of every situation possible. There was certainly no real need to help another that wasn't of Dahlian rank, or someone who was a complete stranger, but everything in nature deserved some sort of tribute or helping hand to prosper and grow. Every Luperci specie, no matter how dark their heart and souls were, deserved to be nurtured in this world while they were still alive.

Voicing his concern that he was well enough alright (and Alae assuming he was still just a little shaken up from his fall), there was no need from him to be in the cold ocean's water any longer than they were. Alae wouldn't attest to that, for she was able to clean his gash enough so the saltwater could do its magic upon sterilizing his wound. At the sound of him having herbs on him that could assist further with healing, Alae was compelled to know just what herbs he possessed, and if he himself was familiar with medicinal herbs in general. "If you say so. I am still applying a cold rock from the ocean to your ankle, it needs a little more time for the cold to compress it." The Sidhe would deal with leaving the waters as the male led them both out of the surf, but not before recovering a smooth rock from the sands in order for him to keep it in place on his ankle a little bit longer. Meandering to the shore, there was a coquettish smile to cross her agouti muzzle at the male's quip. "Unlike most others, I can deal with a little cold to my paws." Alae reassured, keeping her smile to herself while they met the sandy beach again.

Standing above the male as he sat down to regain his bearings again on where exactly they were, he expressed how her efforts weren't necessary for his benefit. Crossing her arms, one of her brows quirked up at him. "Oh? Next time I'll remember to leave you for dead, then." Alae responded, but her voice was full of good natured sarcasm, and her smile was a devious one showing play. She silently extended her hand with the smooth rock she obtained, hinting for him to take it and apply it to his ankle while it was still cold. Offering his gratitude then, Alae nodded in silence with her smile still bearing. "I'm Alae. It's nice to meet you as well Jaden, though I wish our meet would have been a little more formal than you falling from a tree." Alae said, which made her wonder some other things in that moment. "What kind of herbs do you have exactly? And what were you doing in that tree in the first place?" Alae inquired, falling then to her knees in a graceful seated position like a child eager to listen to a story to be told by Jaden.

Jaden's going to be like O.o Your owl?=) WotD+1 (anneal)WC-500+

Sitting in the sand was a welcomed relief from standing on his injured ankle. Jaden rubbed the appendage gingerly for a moment until Alae spoke. “I’ll have to be careful around you then.” He grinned back at her, taking the sea stone and enjoying her sarcasm and playful smile. Sand clung to the still wet fur around his ankle and the male softly brushed some of it off before applying the cool rock to his injury.

While he nursed the ankle, Alae stood above him and introduced herself, saying she would have rather met on better terms. “Believe me,” he chuckled with a slight shake of his head, “I’m sorry we had to meet like that too.” He sighed and was about to say more when Alae sat gracefully in front of him, brining her beauty and questions back down to his level. “I usually carry around as many herbs as I can carry, but the winter and my recent travels have caused my supplies to dwindle…” he trailed off as he suddenly realized he wasn’t wearing his satchel. With a questioning glance at the cruel maple, he saw his leather backpack sitting at its trunk and remembered he had removed it before his assent. “I also have had no time to collect more. But, I have some dried witch hazel left that should help the swelling.” Another wonder crossed the Optimes mind when he looked to Alae again and determined an answer to the last piece of her question. He had been shooting birds, but were had his bow flown off to in the fall? Jaden looked past Alae a little bit and searched the sand hopefully, praying the hand carved weapon hadn’t gotten caught in the tree and had survived the fall. Jaden didn’t have the skills or knowledge on how to anneal a flexible metal suitable for bow making, so the weapon was only wood. It was sturdy though, and had lasted him almost two full years of continuous use. To lose it would be like losing a friend for the Alaskan assassin.

His eyes thankfully fell upon the tool where it lay being lapped at by the surf. The bow didn’t look like it was in any imminent danger of floating out to sea though, so Jaden decided against going to collect it. He wanted to just stay seated and talk to Alae for a few minutes. Her company was nice and he enjoyed her attitude this far. “I was shooting at birds. It is part of my archery training,” Jaden admitted and pictured how foolish he must have looked falling from his chosen perch. He also remembered what his target had been and decided to mention the odd owl to her. “I nearly shot an owl, actually. What great decoration those beautiful feathers would have been, but I had to fall out of that damn tree,” He sighed disappointed and oblivious, “The poor beast was out flying at these hours of the day. I think it might be sick because it has odd behavior for an animal of the night, don’t you think?”

Noting future caution in a playful manner, the Sidhe only grinned. Wishing the two would have met on more formal terms, it wasn't every now and then one got an interesting encounter. "Well, you can say it's certainly better than the boring 'hello, how are you doing today?' encounter." It wasn't that Alae didn't like to meet new individuals, but sometimes life had to be shaken up, and keep you on your toes. Today would certainly forever be a memory Jaden and Alae would remember down the road, and laugh about. Listening as Jaden explained the shortage of herbs from the past season, Alae could certainly relate to that. From her travels from Ireland, to across the Atlantic, to this new continent, it had been difficult along the way to find medicinal herbs. Noting the witch hazel Jaden still possessed, Alae nodded. "I know what you mean. My travels up to this point have been difficult in finding medicinal herbs, but I'm beginning to discover if you look hard enough in the neutral territories, there's some good ones to find." On her travels she passed Pennyroyals, Agrimonies, Bloodroots, and Skullcaps just to name a few, all of which could do wonders.

Intrigued to know Jaden practiced archery, it reminded her of one of Alae's brothers who attempted to do the same. Archery seemed to be an impressive skill, one that took quite some time to master. It suddenly made sense to the Sidhe when knowing Jaden was up that high in a tree to shoot arrows, and found his aim was actually at the birds soaring above the surf. In particular, Jaden had his navy blue eyes on an owl of all coastal birds (which wasn't a coastal bird at all!) Alae blinked, and could feel her heart suddenly leap in skipping a beat. For a moment her sky blue eyes trailed along the beach, searching for her pale hued friend, until she was quickly relieved to see Kael perched in the distance. While it was hard to denote what expression the owl was wearing, it probably wasn't a good one, especially after swooping past an arrow that attempted to impale him.

The whole scenario suddenly made perfect sense, and it was no doubt that in an archer's goal was to obtain beautiful feathers from a bird who was really out of its environment. "You mean that owl over there?" Alae spoke, motioning her muzzle to Kael. "That owl… is actually my companion friend. Kael." It came out a little strange, due to the fact that owls were nocturnal and forest dwellers. "He's… been with me since Ireland. I found him awhile back. I do agree, it is odd. I would have expected him to tire traveling with me, but for some reason… he is peculiar, and keeps up." Alae shrugged lightly to this.

Sorry, my muse flew away for a day =( Words-400+

The sand was beginning to be a pain in Jaden’s Optime tail as he sat and spoke to Alae. It clung unforgiving to every section of thick black fur on the man’s body. Still holding the almost warm now sea stone to his ankle, Jaden attempted to brush away a spot of sand that had somehow managed to stick to his abdomen, opposite of the large tree caused gash. His movement was in vain though because his hands were also now covered in sand too. With a huff, he brought up his uninjured knee and used it as a chin rest so he watched Alae speak attentively.

Alae spoke of how she too had difficulty finding herbs during her travels as of late. “I’ll keep that in mind when I find time to look,” Jaden said with a smile. His eyes gazed at her warmly and explored the nice, natural hues of the fur along her mane. He suddenly felt somewhat boring with only his black and red coloring. “So you are a healer then?” He asked idly, “That or you’re good at guessing how to treat an injured wolf.”

When Alae told about her owl and motioned to it, Jaden broke his curious gaze and found his former target. The owl was perched in a nearby tree. “Yeah, that owl,” he breathed feeling a little bad for almost killing her friend. Alae’s account of the creature’s behavior did sound a bit odd, but her remark about why it continued to follow her made Jaden smile again, “Peculiar?” He laughed, his eyes still trained on the owl, “I don’t think there is anything peculiar about it, especially if you’ve been as kind to him as you have to me.” He looked back at her and leaned back on his hands. It was beginning to get uncomfortable, having to hunch forward and apply the sea stone to his ankle, so he stretched his shoulders and set the rock down for a second. It was beginning to warm from his body heat anyway. “I’m sorry for shooting at your friend and I’m glad I missed.” He said honestly and then asked her a question, “You said since Ireland? Where is that? I knew you were too interesting to be from around here.” Faraway places interested the Alaskan quite a bit. He had met more than one Russian, and a few European canines, but never someone from a place called Ireland.

Jaden does. "Jaden speaks." Jaden thinks.

No worries, I am full of finals this week so both my muse & activity is going to taper off some. O_x 300+

Feeling the dark navy of Jaden's eyes rove freely across her, Alae kept her sincere grin as Jaden questioned the integrity of her healing abilities. She never really considered herself as an official practitioner of healing amongst Luperci, for there was never really no professional title ever attached to her name. "Yes and no. Yes in the ability that I've been taught over my maturity, and no for the fact I don't hold an official title of such in Dahlia." Perhaps someday Alae would aspire to become Dahlia's healer, but then again there was another high ranked individual who had been aiming for that co-rank long before Alae stepped presence there. "What about yourself? I heard you had witch hazel, so you must have some medicinal knowledge yourself?" Alae asked in rebuttal, tilting her head slightly in question.

Jaden was an interesting Luperci based on physicality. With dark fur veiling most of his form, Alae idly wondered why select areas of his lighter pelt across his chest was dyed a deep crimson. She assumed there was a special symbolism behind such a thing, and hopefully the mystery of such would come out later in conversation. Coming back to the topic of Kael, the owl hobbled a little more closer to the Luperci, but kept his cautious distance. Kael seemed to stare right back at Jaden, almost accusingly for attempting to spear him with his arrow. Alae assured herself that he was just fine; he always looked wide eyed anyway, and sort of stoic in appearance. Alae shrugged once more. "I've done what I could to help him survive. He doesn't need me anymore, but sticks around for the ride. I'm sure our encounter was just as interesting for him, even though it doesn't look like it. Seems like he's got daggers for eyes in your direction." Alae chuckled in a light manner.

Jaden was sincere in apologizing for attempting to capture Kael via arrow, and Alae nodded in acknowledging silence to this. Bringing up the topic of Ireland, it was a topic that often made a soft pang of hurt swell in her heart. As much as she missed her homeland, then again, it was an experience and adventure to travel. "Ireland is across the sea, the great Atlantic. Endless fields of rolling greens, and a rich human history." Alae said in brief explanation, and then chuckled once again. "Too interesting to be from here? I disagree with that, considering I've met you here, and things have been very interesting so far." Alae said, continuing. "Are you originally from these parts too?" She was just as curious in knowing where Jaden originated from.

I know what you mean. I should be studying too. Oh well I guess =) Words-600+

“An official title?” Jaden asked when she mentioned Dahlia de Mia. Knowing she was from that particular pack was an interesting fact. Conor, who Jaden assumed still was the Alpha of Dahlia, had saved his life on his first venture into the territory. The Alaskan had come very close to having his life taken by a particularly large assassin from who had followed him all the way from Uva Atka. His former pack had sent two others who Jaden had killed before reaching the land, but the later attacker had ended up being too much for him. Conor distracted the brute long enough for Jaden to put an arrow in him. He still felt he owed the Dahlia Alpha his life. “I didn’t know you were from a local pack.” He said with a little astonishment. “I’ve met your alpha, I believe. Conor saved my life not but a few months ago.”

Remembering that he still had a debt of sorts to Dahlia gave Jaden a sudden reason for living. Perhaps he could ask to be part of their pack? He really hadn’t thought of joining a local pack, but after meeting two of the members of Dahlia and having both give selfless aid to him, it was clear which he wanted to be a part of. He continued to maul over these new found thoughts while he listened.

Alae asked of his experience with medicinal knowledge and Jaden felt inclined to give a somewhat humble answer. “I only know enough to patch myself up when I do dumb things like fall out of a tree or get trampled by deer.” He laughed and added, Or after getting in the occasional fight. to himself. Their conversation was going pleasantly and Jaden felt there was no need to reveal that he could be a rather violent person if provoked. He had left the life of killing behind and hopped soon to end his seemingly every-other-day altercations with other canines. “I can wrap my injuries and make tea, but other than that I am reasonably inexperienced.”

Jaden sat up strait as Alae drew his attention back to her owl. It seemed to be sort of interested in them now and was watching the Alaskan with wide, dark eyes. Alae’s remark about Kael’s dagger-like stare made Jaden tilt his head and look at the owl oddly. When he did, Kael bounced his head up and down for a second and repeated the gesture. His gaze felt rather scrutinizing with those unblinking dark eyes. “You don’t think he’d try for revenge, do you?” Jaden chuckled. “Those little talons look dangerous.” The owl didn’t look dangerous, but the darker optime had never observed one at close range. He was completely oblivious on how to read its features.

The Ocean let off a cool breeze that blew refreshingly against Jaden’s torso and stirred Alae’s fur, pushing her pleasant scent in a strong wave through the air. She explained briefly about her birth place with enough words to make it sound rather interesting. A rich human history was a put off for Jaden because he had mixed feelings about them, but the way she described it besides that indicated that she still held her home in the highest regard. It made the Alaskan wonder why she was here and not there. He loved his home too, but he couldn’t go back without having to kill his entire pack. Chances are they would kill him first. “I’m not necessarily from around here. I’ve come from Alaska. The climate there is much the same and so is the natural plant and wild life. I didn’t have to cross the sea, thankfully.” He said in response to her kind words. “Alae, if you don’t mind me asking,” He said this because he would probably not tell her why he was here and not in Alaska. It usually didn't go over well to tell someone you are an accused killer and rapist. “Why did you come here? You sound like you really like your home?”

Jaden does. "Jaden speaks." Jaden thinks.

Nodding in acknowledgment of Dahlia de Mai, Alae quirked an earthy hued brow when Jaden mentioned Conor. Conor had done a valiant task for Jaden for saving his life at some point in the past, but unfortunately Conor was no more in Dahlia de Mai. The Sidhe was unaware of what reaction Jaden would cause when hearing Conor stepped down from his position as Alpha, but went ahead to lightly inform him anyway of such. "Mm, Conor is no more. That is, of being Alpha of Dahlia. Our Alpha now is Nayru. I'm not quite certain what really happened to Conor, as I arrived in Dahlia right after Nayru's promotion. I'm sorry." Alae apologized at the end, wishing to know more, but Conor's stepping down was but a brief topic at the recent pack meeting that didn't go into in-depth detail. Perhaps Conor was out saving other's lives as he did so bravely with Jaden's.

If only Alae could have heard Jaden's thoughts about Dahlia de Mai, she would have persuaded him to do so. However, Jaden indulged on what medicinal knowledge he knew, and Alae grinned at the mental image of seeing Jaden hoarded by a line of rampant deer charging straight for him. "You know, the funny part is I could definitely see that happening with you." Alae said with amusement, laughing softly. There was no comment made upon occasional fighting, for fighting seemed essential enough in this day and age for survival. Other little basic things helped Jaden along the way to patch and mend wounds and scrapes, and Alae shook her head in disagreement. "Nonsense. Even the smallest tip of knowledge can get you a long way. You're ahead of the curve than most others I know." Which was true, for many didn't take the time to delve into the benefits of what plants and certain wrapping techniques could do to make all the difference in healing.

Alae didn't think there was a bad, delicate bone in Kael for revenge, and she smirked and shook her head. "Revenge upon a rodent would seem most likely." She said, watching as Kael was beginning to hobble over and was actually in a close enough distance to both of them. His movement veered more toward Alae, but kept his stare upon Jaden. It seemed like he was growing comfortable with his presence, but not quite. The sudden ocean breeze felt rejuvenating, as Alae took a deep breath of the salty air as it ran through her earthy toned fur. Jaden revealed his origins from Alaska, a place far North than this continent. Alae listened with interest, noting that Alaska held some same qualities as here. It didn't seem to be too far, in which Alae thought it would be pleasant to explore and visit Alaska someday on travel. "Sounds like a future trip to Alaska would be in the stars, then. I've always wondered what was up farther North." Alae said thoughtfully, more to herself. Jaden then inquired why Alae came here. Silent for a moment, she mulled over her reasoning and came to a conclusion. "Wanderlust." It was as simple as that, as Alae then laughed. "I wish there was more of a reason, but really, that's it. Pure wanderlust for exploration." There was no other reason really, and she would have continued on if Dahlia didn't seem so settling in itself.

Sorry for being sOOooOO late =( Words-800+

Jaden’s ears flattened when Alae reveled to him that Conor had left Dahlia de Mia. He looked away as he took this in. Conor was gone, and with him the only reason for Jaden to stay in this territory. He still owed the man his life but because Alae didn’t have knowledge of where he had gone it seemed Conor’s where about might not be common knowledge. The former assassin was a proud luperci and the fact that he would probably never be able to repay his debt now thoroughly disappointed him. Perhaps he could still approach the new Alpha and offer his alliance, if only to repay the entire pack for what their former leader had done. Jaden had little to offer besides being a soldier, but it would be something. Or maybe he would just let them alone and find his way out of ‘Souls. Right when things seemed to be going somewhere, they were stopped dead and Jaden was left unsure of his future once again. “It isn’t your problem or a problem you caused so no need to apologize.” He said with an unsteady and disappointed smile. “But It is a shame you lost such a great leader.”

Jaden thought about Conor for a long moment before Alea’s remark about him being run down by deer brought the optime out of his concentration. He chuckled in response and again took appreciative notice of Alae’s delicate laugh. It hadn’t been as funny when it actually happened, but Jaden grinned again as he thought about it.

The Sea stone the Alaskan had been using to compress his ankle was finally warm. He had stopped putting it on the injury a just a second ago, but now when he realized he should be reapplying the cool rock, it was too late. With a sigh he tossed it away from him, making a small crater and sending the soft sand flying. He looked to Kael before standing up and hoped he hadn’t startled the magnificent creature. It still seemed to be edging toward them, bit by bit, but definitely more in Alae’s direction. Satisfied Kael wasn’t too disconcerted about him standing up Jaden drew in his sore legs under him and stood shakily. “I’m glad he is somewhat gentle then.” He breathed and stretched his back. A few pops could be heard and Jaden sighed when he felt how stiff his body was. Great, He thought, that’s going to hurt tomorrow.

The beach was peaceful despite all that had already taken place on it. Jaden’s dark eyes scanned the sand for his bow again. He wanted to gather his things before he got too comfortable. In his condition he wanted to just sit for a long time. With his bow and satchel still resting in their different places it would be difficult to rest knowing they could just suddenly disappear if a thief or curious animal decided to snatch them up. Alae would most likely stop such a pest from taking the injured man’s things. She didn’t seem the type to be deceitful. But he also knew she had come out here for other reasons besides to just sit and talk to him, which is what she continued to do now. She complimented his knowledge of healing and to that he said, “Thank you,” with a smile. As he turned to go gather his supplies Alae also said she might like to visit Alaska in the future. This made him stop in mid-limp and he spun back to her quickly, just about tell her not to EVER go there. But he stopped with his maw open in a distressed way and just smiled awkwardly. He remembered he hadn’t explained to her why he had really left Alaska. Who he used to be was deeply rooted in the evil group of assassins who ruled that area. But he couldn’t just be silent. If Alae actually went to Alaska, god knows what those fowl murders would do to her. She wasn’t tundra wolf and her earthy hues practically screamed that. Uva Atka would most likely kill, enslave, or do worse her if she wandered to close to their territory. Most would just do the one of the first choices but a few of the pack members Jaden knew would take advantage of such a pretty wolf if no one was around to stop them. “Alaska is quite full of shady characters,” he said eventually. “That’s why I left. It would be better for you to avoid the place I think. It is nothing different from here anyway. I traveled from there didn't even see anything of consequence on the way.”

When Alae answered his question with the word ‘wonder lust’, Jaden smiled. What a nice term. It told a lot about the femme. “In that case, I hope you don’t plan on leaving too soon. It would be a shame if you just disappeared beyond the sea one day.” He smiled at her before turning to collect his bow and satchel. He tried not to limp too badly but the pain was still fresh and he wasn’t too sure of how best to use his injured paw.

Jaden does. "Jaden speaks." Jaden thinks.

... and I'm sorry for mine. O_x 300+

Wishing she could have elaborated further on why Conor stepped down from leadership, the Sidhe noticed the motions of Jaden's ears flattening at the news. It caused her glance to stray away to something else in the sand, for there was a little feeling of guilt felt for being the bearer of bad news (which Alae didn't necessarily handle well in other company). She could only aspire Conor's resignation was for the better, wherever he left to. Expressing how Conor's decision wasn't her fault and shouldn't have apologized, Alae only nodded in silence and understanding. Apparently Conor was a great leader for Dahlia de Mai, and it made her silently wonder why such a great leader would leave something behind so suddenly. "I can only say I wish I could have known him beforehand since you speak so highly of him. But, I have trust in Nayru. She is a strong woman." To be female and take leadership of a pack was highly admirable to Alae. Most leadership positions where she came from were usually occupied by males, so a female was uncommon, but it spoke many measures in confidence and strength.

Onto lighter conversation, Kael felt the need to edge away from Jaden when he rose to his two feet. Alae smiled gently and nodded. "Yeah, he's still as cautious as ever. But we're both learning how each other work." Kael might have gained trust in Alae, but that didn't mean it was there entirely. Alae allowed Jaden to stand up on his own will, letting him work on finding his own balance and comfort. It seemed like he was in search of the arrow he shot, and Alae let him on his way to find it without interruption. It seemed like Jaden was about to say something, but stopped himself, to which Alae quirked a brow and tilted her head in silent question. She wasn't about to ask why as Jaden went to go fetch his bow, but suddenly reason came from him. Alaska was a shady place, nothing was fairly unique. While everywhere different had something unique to offer, Jaden's words seemed to heed a great deal of caution. "If you insist, then I'll pass that for elsewhere." Alae said. Deep down it would probably be in her spirit to wander there anyway, but would now have reason to be extra cautious about visiting Alaska.

Upon leaving too soon from this continent, Alae confidently shook her head. "I doubt it. I'll stay for awhile. Dahlia seems to be a perfect refuge for now; a place I feel content in at the moment. I'm sure you've visited Conor there before?" Alae questioned, further implying whether Jaden knew some things of Dahlia through means of Conor.

OoC: Feel free to end it however. I might be able to do one more post because I finally bought a new comp ^__^ your choice. I’m sorry about my erratic posting lately (or lack thereof) thanks for dealing with me! =) Words- 600+

There is a feeling of power that comes with holding a deadly weapon. That power is only multiplied so many more times when the wielder has training to make a deadly weapon even more lethal. The wolfess Jaden had in his company didn’t seem at all dangerous and he felt even in a fight he would easily overpower her (as a trained killer must judge everyone in this way), but a deep comfort was felt by the injured brute as he shouldered his weapon and limped back toward Alae.

She continued to speak of Conor: the former leader of Dahlia de Mai whom she never had a chance to answer to. It seemed odd to Jaden that the new leader of Dahlia was now female. In Uva Atka’s Alaskan territory this would have never happened. They believed females were only to be mothers and care takers, as there god instructed. Despite his attempts to consciously divert all his beliefs away from that religion he still judged Dahlia and all the pack’s wolves negatively for having a female leader. It was a natural reaction; no thought, no debate, just a few lost points in Jaden’s book. A debt was a debt though, the Alaskan figured, and he knew the few lost points for having Nayru as a leader wouldn’t change or effect his final decision on what to do about this news.

“It’s a shame you never met him, but I’m sure any Dahlian wolf would make a great leader. Any of the ones I’ve met thus far anyway,” said Jaden kindly. Alea then commented on her slightly skittish companion in response to his observation. He nodded politely back and when she also said she would avoid Alaska, the dark male thanked her. “You won’t be missing anything. I promise,” He added and suddenly found himself wondering just how much his promise meant to Alea. He guessed it wasn’t much. They were still only strangers.

After a moment or two of limping form where his weapon had fallen, Jaden was standing in front of Alae. She still sat in a graceful position that the male knew would hurt if he attempted. The Alaskan put his good foot forward and offered his hand to her. Another natural instinct when it came to dealing with females was to be polite. After his first inspection of her slender and attractive hourglass figure, it was plainly obvious Alea weighed less then Jaden with his more chiseled and think, masculine luperci figure. Even with his injured ankle the man was sure he could pull her to her feet. His footing was careful. It would be awfully embarrassing if Alea pulled him over onto her. Much more so if he dropped her.

“What is a real shame is that I never got the chance to see Conor within Dahlia before his disappearance,” Jaden answered, “But I had wanted to. Perhaps I will stop by and howl at the borders before I find reason to leave the area.” Jaden didn’t let on that he was contemplating joining Dahlia de Mai. He wasn’t sure of his choice and it would be pointless to give Alea false information should he just decide to leave. “But for now I should go. All this excitement has gotten me hungry and I’m eager to attempt hunting with my injured paw.” Time would tell just how much damage the wound would cause. Jaden was a good shot with his bow, but one shot kills on deer were difficult to make. Unless he could score one, he would be stuck eating small game for a good month or so. But that was unimportant. The man hated pity so he just smiled at Alea and tried to look sure of himself. “You’ll listen for me should I come a’ howlin’?”

I really do appreciate you taking the time to finish this for us. <3 It was a great thread, and we'll definitely have to thread again once Jaden (possibly?) makes it into DdM. Wink I'll go ahead and archive this! 530

Even from her own culture of the Sidhe back in Ireland, a female leader was never heard of. Females always held some sort of shaman position; horticulturalists, herbalists, anything dealing with the medical and spiritual realm. Females in the Sidhe were powerful in their own right, perhaps even more so than the leaders themselves… but a female as a leader was never heard of. It was always the elite, elderly, and males of their pack holds that took charge of such a thing. Alae herself might have held some doubt in Nayru's position, but then again there was a strange sense of respect to also come forth from it. Nayru seemed level headed enough for the position, and didn't seem like it was passed down to her because she was the next in line to receive. Jaden still spoke in high regards of this Conor, and Alae could only nod in acknowledgement to his words. His great leadership would forever be a mystery to the Sidhe.

Extending his grasp out to her own, Alae smiled in the courtesy of such as she was lifted to two feet swiftly. Promising that Alaska had nothing to offer, Alae silently disagreed with such a thing. There was always something fascinating about venturing through a new environment, even if it didn't have any tools to benefit or take along. The scenery enough would make her content, and by the way Jaden spoke of such, it only made her more curious to go and take an adventure there sometime later in the season of this year. Jaden expressed that he was physically able enough to continue on with his meandering, and this meant the marker their encounter would be short lived upon this day. Understanding this, there was several more scouting along the shoreline Alae wanted to do with Kael before departing back to the borders of Dahlia. Her sky blue eyes gave him a once over more, checking to see if Jaden was indeed fit to wander off on his own without her assistance. "If you say you're able to continue on, I'll trust you." Alae remarked, giving the benefit of the doubt.

With their encounter coming to a close, Jaden reminded her that he would appear at the borders of Dahlia in the not so distant future, and Alae eagerly nodded to his request. "Of course I will. I just hope you don't fall out of anymore trees in the meanwhile." There was a smirk written on her muzzle, but one in good humor. Glad to have gained a new acquaintance upon this continent of Nova Scotia, Alae figured it was time to return to her scavenging along the shorelines. "Please take care of yourself Jaden. A pleasure to meet you, as interesting as it was." Her smile broadened even more, as she began to turn around, offering a wave of her hand. "Until next time Jaden, safe travels." Her farewell was light and simple as the sea breeze, as Alae strutted off back to where she had been looking for coastal artifacts along the shoreline. Kael gave a sideways look to Jaden before lifting off and soaring to meet up with Alae.
