I AM NOT OKAY

Table & Coding © Hickey; Set just after Bastion gets his marking since he would need something to cover it when away from Salsola?; 732 words

I DON'T PRETEND TO BE

It was with an eagerness of a child that he had made the trip to the ruined city. The trip involved a lot of the young male running ahead only to have to wait impatiently, foot tapping included, for the other male to catch up once more. It was through spread word that he had learned of the ruined city. And of course since he was traveling so far away from their new home he simply had to have Janos with him. Besides, the other was experienced with clothing where he wasn't. And well he had been given the warning to keep his mark covered. Janos used a garment to keep his own mark covered so he figured that he should do the same. He could think of no other way to hide it, not that he was keen on having to wear such heavy articles. Or at least Janos's coat felt heavy on his shoulders when the other would wrap him in it when he got cold.

Bastion made his way through the rubble and decay. He wasn't exactly sure just what it was that he was looking for. All he knew was that he needed something that would fit over the mark that had been placed on his hip. it also had to be something that he would take comfort in wearing. Of course it would take a bit to achieve that effect since he wasn't used to wearing clothing at all. He just needed something light weight that he could forget that he even had on. And well, he had Janos here to help him find just that.

Progress was eventually made into the remains of someone's house. He cared little for the ruined artifacts. All he knew was that this place had similar architecture and the buildings in the village and that was why they were chosen for a first stop. The male rummaged around the first room that was entered but found nothing of particular value and interest to him. Though from that front room he made his way on up the stairs. He figured to start high and then work his way lower. Or Janos could check out the lower level for himself if he wanted to.

Or at least that had been the thought on his mind until he had entered a bedroom and found a strange artifact contained within a box beneath the bed. Of course he had entered the room and rummaged around a bit before he had gotten onto his knees to check beneath the bed. Within a large box in the closet he had found himself a hat to place on his head. The hat had ear holes already cut out, little did he know that they were actually panties and what he thought were ear holes were actually leg holes. It was after he had acquired his hat that he had checked beneath the bed and found what he had found. "Puppy! Come here!" He called out, uncertain of just where the other was since he was still down on his knees and peering into the box. He figured that Janos would know just what the ribbed adult toy was. Bastion's mind figured it was something used for fishing since he was in a box and the fishermen where he had been born kept their stuff in boxes and well, Janos used to fish from what he had heard. The youth's fingers ran over the cylindrical object with the domed head. He figured that if it was for fishing then Janos could use it. After all the older male was often the one providing food for the both of them.

He waited on the other male to respond to his beckoning, knowing without a doubt that the other would do whatever it was that he wanted him to do. But while he waited the boy licked at the phallic toy, trying to figure out for himself why the fish would want to try and eat this. He didn't understand it. It didn't really taste like food. But fish were stupid anyways, at least in Bastion's opinion they were. Why would they really swim towards metal things to get themselves captured if they were smart? The small male ended up sticking the toy in his mouth to chew on it and try to get some sort of taste out of it.

WC: 660 - Incredibly late fail post, sorry hun >.<

Since the pairs departure from the land of thorns, he’d been constantly alert; one scarred hand wrapped around his blade, ready for any potential danger, for it would seem that Salsola had not been welcomed by others with open arms and the family generally didn’t welcome others all that much either. Considering this, it seemed that such precaution would be necessary and the Russo male had wished that he and the cherub proceed with caution as they moved outside of their pack lands; surely another would see them as easy pickings now that they were in the open and may take advantage of the situation to attack. The Arbiters caution was not stemmed from fear of not being able to fend of whatever came their way, no, he feared that the cherub he accompanied would be displeased with any delay in their trip.

Yet, the child-like Bastion seemed ever eager to move with little care about the world surrounding them, ever impatient about the Russo’s slow pace. Each time he fell behind his smaller companion, he would see the other waiting impatiently in a adorable manner; which did little to encourage him to up his pace. After a much, elongated trip, their travels took them to a neighbour hood in which was a mere reminder of the fallen human civilization. Choosing the nearest one, the pair entered and began to venture around the building in search of suitable clothing.

Initially, he followed the cherub into the first room, but when the other chose to go upstairs he continued to venture around the downstairs areas. Ducking through a low doorway, he entered a tiled room that he could only guess was the area in which the humans both kept and prepared. At his entry he heard a suddenly movement, as if he had startled many … things. Seeking the source of the sound, he bent down and opened a lower cupboard. Inside, bundled into one of the corners were several small rat kits, hiding behind the starved corpse of their mother. Judging from their size, he’d have guessed them to be around 4 weeks old, yet if they have been starving they could have been older.

Remembering his times where only small animals were his companions, he mentally formed the sentence in low speech before he spoke it, attempting to express to the small creatures that he meant them no harm. Four pairs of small eyes turned from frantic to a cautious curiosity, unsure if his messaged had been conveyed he spoke to convey safety and offering them a home. Cautiously, a black one with odd eyes stepped bravely forward to sniff at his hand and was soon followed by the other three. The Russo male hadn’t intended to pick up four young rats to care for, but if he had left them he knew they’d die and surely rats could have their use?

With the small kits securely placed in his coat pocket he continued to search the lower floors until the voice of the cherub called to him. Slowly, he picked his way through the surrounding rubble so that he could return to his master’s side and answer his call. Finding a path through the debris of decay, he made his way up the broken stair case and was by the others side in a short moment.

Although his ability to scent was poor, he figured out the room in which the other was in and begun to turn into the room. “Basti..” the words were cut short as the Russo male assessed the situation before him; the young Arbiter had female human underwear upon his head, pink and covered in thrills and within his mouth was what the scarred male was sure to be a human ‘sex toy’ and beside the cherub, in the boy were even more of such toys. Momentarily lost for words, he simply froze in the doorway, mouth half open as if to speak.

I AM NOT OKAY

I DON'T PRETEND TO BE

Bastion only had minimal knowledge of human artifacts. Of course where he grew up they tended to relate more to fishing than things contained within a household. But that is why he had Janos with him. The older male knew much more than he did. But that would also be because his puppy had been exposed to many more things than the small boy had been. Still he was learning a small bit at a time. Especially since he had Janos with him in order to correct him on the things that he had gotten wrong and to teach him other things that he didn't know. Like the proper use of clothing would most certainly be one of those things that the larger male would be forced to teach.

Bastion had been about to call the other male again since he had no idea what was keeping the other from being at his side just as soon as he had called for him. But the sound of his name, or his partially spoken name really, had the words never leaving his tongue. The annoyance that he had started to feel at having to call for the other twice quickly dissipated. Once he spotted the other in the doorway the youth grinned happily around the toy in his mouth and waved his puppy on into the room. He had no idea why the other was just standing in the doorway and stared at him the way that he did.

The boy reached up to pull the toy from his mouth. Of course once it was out he ended up holding it out for Janos to take and examine. "Look, found fish food." He had no idea what the proper name was for the odd shaped things that attracted the fish. He simply figured that since the fish tried to eat it then it had to be some sort of food. "Tastes yucky. You try." Yes, he didn't like the taste of it and yet he still desired that Janos should taste it for himself. "Why fish eat it?" The question came out as Bastion tilted his head to stare curiously up at Janos. He expected the older male to know the answer to every question that he should ever have.
