Flying Is Fun Until You Fall

Cassie walked by the edge of the river. Slightly depressed. She had been at Sable Et Rivages for two days. She had never been to concerned at her loneliness for most of her life until now. Sighing and trying to hold back tears, she picked up her bow and decided to try to hunt to take her mind off things. Suffering from migraines from her drinking last night, the light pained her eyes. Standing up straight on her two legs, she looked around. Her hangover reminded her over and over of Barrett.

They were up in the night drinking alcohol. She remembered the burn on her foot and she swore she could still taste the fish he cooked her. They then after romped like puppies playing tag. She then had a friend. He had curled up around her and told her good night. She remembered the panic she felt if he was going to leave. Sure enough, he left before morning. She had packed up her stuff into her pack and walked away not looking back she thought she wouldn't care. But they were coming back to haunt her now. She walked here thinking she could start new.

Walking in optime was painful. The burn mark still remained on her foot, the scar was already appearing. The fur was burned away to a bald patch. She didn't bother shifting because she could only shift to lupine. Shifting to Secui was painful for some weird reason. She stopped trying long ago. Lifting her bow and loading an arrow, she scanned the area for any prey. She had fine hunting arrows tipped with deadly blades. Hearing movement and smelling a hare, she aimed to the spot in the bushes where the movement came from. Making sure she was right with the location, she fired.

Hitting the small creature in the ribs, piercing the lungs she ran over to retrieve it. Picking up the hare by it's long ears, she brougt it back to her "camp". Setting it down on a rock and examining the small brown pelt, she had an idea. She wanted to make boots for her feet. The pads of her toes were throbbing from walking. Skinning itquickly and putting the meat away in her bag, she lay down with her head in her hands and she felt like crying but no tears came. She felt bad. She ran her fingers through her red hair wondering what to do.

Juna pushed his way through the undergrowth, following a scent. His blue-gray fur was shaggy and matted, and he stunk. His paws were scraped and left a small trail of blood where ever he walked. He flicked his ears and tail to keep pesky flies away. After walking for a bit, he found the site of a killing. The dirt was torn up, and blood and rabbit fur were scattered among the foliage. He sniffed the air, then took off running in the direction it came from.

He stopped short, crouching down below some ferns, when he saw a beautiful russet female sitting alone. He pondered the situation, before quietly stepping into view. Excuse me... He murmered, looking at the female with soft green eyes. Are you all right? Such a lovely creature shouldn't be sad. he attempted to cheer her up.

Looking up from where she sat, she saw the male. I'm okay I guess, a hangover and a broken heart She mumbled to him. Looking at the river in front of them blankly. Her headache was killing her, but her heartache even more so. She looked up and stood up, looking in her bag and finding her bottles of liquor, she looked at the labels, the old priceless eighty year old wine in the palms of her hands. She wasn't going to drink it, oh no. She riled back her right arm and threw them one by one into the river. Won't be needing these no more.

Looking back at the male, she said I'm Cassie. She hoped he didn't think much of her wasting wine. She simply didn't need it. Smiling at him and studying his features. Her headache was pounding and severely hurting. Last night's activities came back to bite her. She didn't care if his fur was matted and bloody. She wanted someone to talk to.

She sat back down tracing her bow's curves lightly with her index finger, she didn't know what more to say. She sighed and looked up at him again not sure what to say. She took out her cloak and wrapped it around herself. She smelled the rabbit in her bag but didn't bother taking it out to eat.

He smiled softly, knowing he had to be gentle. Cassie seemed fragile and bruised, though not visibly. He could see the pain in fatigue in her eyes, and could easily sympathize. He moved slightly closer, and sat down, beginning to groom the mud out of his fur. He wanted to give the female a little time to rest peacefully, with only the rushing of the river and the birdsong intruding upon the silence.

A few moments later he looked up, green eyes studying the russet female. She was short, but muscular and looked as if she would be lethal in battle. Her eyes were a striking aburn, with a honey like glaze. She looked about a year older that himself, but Juna was used to that. He was mature for his age, due to the trials and tribulations he'd gone through in such a short time. Then Juna noticed something that struck him, and mad his mood fall a bit. She looked just like Holo.

He sighed, trying to push the thought from his mind, and smiled sympathetically. I'm a good listener, if you want to talk He offered, wondering about Cassies current heart broken state, but not wanting to be pushy.
