Prowling silently through the snowy forest, Fara stalked the large elk just a few yards ahead of her. The elk was large, larger than Fara. The smell it gave off was warm, much different than the cold air that stung Fara's nose. It grazed peacefully, unaware of the danger to come. Fara slowly put one foot in front of the other, pacing herself. For she knew it all would be worth this great reward.
Fara bent downwards her front torso, took a quick step forward and - SNAP! A twig broke under her hairy black paw, surely telling her position to the beast. Ignoring the mistake, she pounced at the great beast, only to be smashed into a tree by the elk’s massive hooves. The impact knocked the wind out of her, and her body hurt. Her head spun - how could she have made such a mistake?
The elk bolted through the trees, and into the rocks on a nearby hill. Fara forced herself up, even though her body was begging her not to, and chased after the grand prize. Luckily for her, the elk was getting weary already. It was slowing down a bit, and she could tell that its legs were shaky. It turned a sharp corner, Fara followed reluctantly. Then suddenly out of nowhere, jaws wrapped around her neck painfully, and she was caught much by surprise. She looked over her shoulder, it was that damned grey wolf…

A snow white wolf stumbled frantically out of the foliage. The smell of manure lingered in the air. The young she-wolf looked back to the dense green at the sound of a growl in the distance. She hurried her-self along at quick pace, trying to hide any evidence that she was there. After a few minutes of this, she came across a trampled barbed wire fence.
She smelt the same stink but stronger now "Well, I am hungry and there maybe, just maybe be sheep left even if all the humans are gone," she thought. Fara slowly made her way through the fence, keeping a keen eye for trouble. The barbs cut the pads of her paws, she grimaced in pain. Just as she was over the barbed wire, she heard a growl from behind her. Immediately her mind told her to to "run." The large grey wolf burst towards her, he was about twice her size. She still had the advantage because she was younger and faster, much faster than him. He chased her through the field winding in and out of small bushes and trees sprouting in the field. Then a rumble started, getting louder by the second.
The two kept running, never tiring and never slowing. Fara noticed a hilltop that she could lose him over, looking over the top she saw the most amazing sight. Hundreds of massive buffalo stampeding towards her, suddenly realizing the danger she was in Fara whipped around and sped back to the fence with the gray on her tail...

“Get out, NOW!” barked a large, muscular grey wolf.
“I was born here and I’ll die here,” replied Fara defiantly. As she breathed in the frigid winter air stung her sensitive nose. The grey wolf growled menacingly, his massive jaws more than visible. Fara stepped forward, her hackles raised! The two wolves stood silently, in the snow filled landscape. The fozen wind battered them with everything it had. Any sign of vegatation would soon be swallowed up by a mountain of snow and ice. This was her home and she wasn't going to leave without a fight!

Cheers of approval came from the crowd gathered round the icy wasteland in a tight circle. Short yips and grunt’s sounded as the grey rushed forward. Fara stood her ground, starring into his eyes as if she knew what he was thinking. He body slammed her with all his force; she crumbled beneath the 100-pound beast. They landed with a thud. Fara wriggled out from under the grey wolf, his soft thick fur rubbed against hers. It smelled of trapped dirt and dead grass.

Fara clawed at his snout, he shot back with a nip on her front left paw. The pain ripped through her whenever she stepped on it. She felt anger rising up inside, she barked ferociously and leapt at him…

I think these are much better than the last ones I even got help from a mentour

Welcome to 'Souls!

Congratulations! You've been accepted into the craziest bunch of roleplayers on the vast Internet! We encourage you to keep checking out our information; you can find a wealth of it on the RP Guide. Don't feel pressured to read it all at once -- the guide is a huge resource and is meant to be used as a reference.

If You've Joined the Game As a...
  • ... Loner, do begin considering which of the packs you'd like to join. Survival as a Loner is less realistic -- wolves and other canines are generally social creatures, preferring to live in a pack structure!
  • ... IC pack joiner, you can now begin posting -- you may start your IC pack joining thread whenever you're ready. Make sure you check the pack information to see if the leadership requires anything extra from you!
  • ... OOC pack joiner, the leader still has to respond here before you can start roleplaying -- don't worry, though; if you're rejected from the pack you'll be titled as a Loner, and you're free to pursue other packs or the same one later.
Post-Joining Process
Mandatory:
  • Make an In Character post within five days. Post a thread request to get started, or consider starting or replying to an open thread.
  • Please let us know in the Absentee Thread if you plan to be absent for more than four days.
  • Keep reading! While there's only a minimum of three topics you have to read to join the game, we provide a wealth of information for a reason -- we expect players to read and reference this material often while they roleplay at 'Souls.
Preferred:
  • If you're leaving us, please try to let us know in the Player Updates forum. There is no penalty for leaving; you're free to re-join at any time later.
Still Need a Bit of Help?

Post any questions you may have in the Questions and Help forum. Check the FAQ first, though! The Mentors can assist you with writing, roleplaying, and understanding 'Souls concepts. Failing all else, contact a staff member.

If you need help getting adjusted to your pack, you should talk to your pack leader! They can help you to understand the pack's rank system and how to get a better rank, as well as direct you to plots, potential thread partners, and active members of the pack who may be interested in engaging you.
