Prowling silently through the snowy forest, Fara stalked the large elk just a few yards ahead of her. The elk was large, larger than Fara. The smell it gave off was warm, much different than the cold air that stung Fara's nose. It grazed peacefully, unaware of the danger to come. Fara slowly put one foot in front of the other, pacing herself. For she knew it all would be worth this great reward.
Fara bent downwards her front torso, took a quick step forward and - SNAP! A twig broke under her hairy black paw, surely telling her position to the beast. Ignoring the mistake, she pounced at the great beast, only to be smashed into a tree by the elk’s massive hooves. The impact knocked the wind out of her, and her body hurt. Her head spun - how could she have made such a mistake?
The elk bolted through the trees, and into the rocks on a nearby hill. Fara forced herself up, even though her body was begging her not to, and chased after the grand prize. Luckily for her, the elk was getting weary already. It was slowing down a bit, and she could tell that its legs were shaky. It turned a sharp corner, Fara followed reluctantly. Then suddenly out of nowhere, jaws wrapped around her neck painfully, and she was caught much by surprise. She looked over her shoulder, it was that damned grey wolf…

The female had decided to take a walk in the forest; she had left her pups at home with a friend of hers, sure that they would have a good time with the friend while Skye herself went out to relax for a moment. The guilt of losing Nathaniel was still with her - she almost hated herself for falling asleep that day, even though she knew that she had fallen asleep with all her pups in her arms. It was too easy for Nathaniel to struggle out of his mother's sleepy grip and wander off with this strange man... Bangle stayed gone for weeks, and she knew that he wasn't any closer to finding their son than she had been upon waking up that day.

She sighed, walking along the forest, when she suddenly scented elk - looking around, bemused, she spotted the beast. It seemed tired and weak, walking up a slope; she then saw a wolf behind it, about to pounce. Skye almost congratulated the girl on her catch when suddenly, a gray jaw reached out and grasped the girl by the neck.

Skye's next moves were in a panic; she raced towards the girl with her dagger, the weapon that she never left home without, and slashed at the gray wolf, attempting to free the girl from his grip.
