A white sliver scurried across unclaimed ground towards Ichika no Ho-en territory. The odd eyed lady stud gracefully in her optime form. She seemed to be carved of white stone in the blue starlight. Aurora climbed silently up a slanted hill and flopped down on it's soft cool grass. Her mismatched eyes looked up at the bright stars. Their shapes were outline with the light mist of the summer night. the sparkling lights made her think of the times she looked up at the desert sky and saw red dust that once danced in the heavens. Aurora's mind trailed of to her days in the desert. The painful memories of El Paso made a lump in her throat. The white lady looked up at the calm sky to stare at the ivory moon. The comforting smile pushed the pain out of her mind. Soon sleep's sweet dreams carried her away toward the morning’s light.
The sun's first rays of light woke Aurora to the beauty of a Canadian morning. The soft pink that stretched across the sky faded into the left over blues of the night. The golden sun light tinted the delicate lady's thick fur an of white hue.
“This place is beautiful! So filled with hope. I'm sure I'll love it here.” The odd-eyed lady said to her self.
Aurora rummaged through her worn leather knapsack making the bottom a jumbled mess amidst her search. Her tail thumped as she pulled an ivory comb out of the knapsack. She spent a few minutes gently working out tangles that has formed over night. Hoping she looked presentable the white lady made her way towards Ichika no ho-en grounds.
The smell of pack filled Aurora's coal colored nose as she came to the end of her journey. The white lady stopped at what she assumed was the pack border. She raised her mismatched eyes to the shining morning sun and let her soprano howl role trough the land.

The horses snorts were something of a soothing sound to the male. It was still early in Ichika and although he'd travelled through the night to get back home, the male felt alert and awake. The horses needed a place to stay and he'd taken them to the barn to set settled in. Unfortunately Arete hadnt wanted to leave him and he'd had a bit of trouble putting her into the stall with the larger, and calmer, Hermes. In the end he'd shut the door from the outside and picked the little filly up before placing her on the other side of the closed door. She'd given a whinny before settling down to drink and eat. He was sure he would be up here quite a lot, getting to know the two horses that appeared to need him. But he had other things to do today, not least to show Eclipse around the apartment building they would all be moving in to tomorrow. The agouti male was plagued with doubts, but he tried to hide them and push on. It was then that a howl broke through the lands for the second time that day. And now Saul had the basics of what was going down in these joining processes. With a clear mind of the process Razekiel had performed on his cousin, Saul took off towards the borders,

It took him less time than he first thought it would and he arrived with a smile on his face. He knew it was important to appear friendly and happy to joining loners, but it was also a near constant expression on the young males face. He came to a stop a few hundreds yards away before speaking boldly. "Welcome, friend, to Ichika no Ho-en. How may I help you?" He asked, and while it was clear to him that she was seeking a home, she might have other reasons for being at Ichika's borders. He tried to inject some of Razekiel's laid back and charming nature into his own words and he felt the effects straight away. Green eyes turned towards her mismatched, reminding him of his Aunt Bris. He wasnt yet comfortable complimenting strangers as Razekiel was, but he was getting there at least.

The delicate lady had not been standing long before the tawny gray figure of a young wolf walked towards her. He Greeted her in a friendly manner that relaxed Aurora. She smiled eagerly and replied to his question.
“ Hello, my name Aurora Etoiles and I would like to join your pack ” the alabaster lady replied.
Her long tail thumped against her legs joyously at the thought of being in a pack once more. She recalled the days of her early puppy hood. How lovely it was in a pack. All its member were a like big happy family. All working together for the good of the pack. However it was rare that Aurora felt that way in her previous pack. Her sister's jealousy and hurtful lies severed her relationship with several pack members. Her envy finally uprooted her once quiet life.
Aurora's odd-eyed gaze had not seen an easy life, but now it would all change for the better. This was a new pack where she could care for her fellow pack mates and work of the well being of her pack. Hope was rising like the glorious day time star.

He noticed her smile and was pleased by it. It wasnt often that the male met a particularly unhappy wolf, although he'd met plenty of sad or angry ones. Those moods could be changed easily though, and it was rare he ever saw a wolf that was truely unhappy with his or her life. To be returned the smile that he had given out was a lift to his spirits- he hadnt known what the saying had meant when it spoke of smiling at somebodies is the worlds greatest pleasure. But for the moment, Saul was filled with joy for finding a friendly wolf at the borders. She was a pure white with mismatched eyes and Saul couldnt help but compare her to his Aunt Bris. They looked very similar, that was certain. She spoke and Saul allowed cinnamon backed ears to flash forward. Her name was Aurora Etoiles, which had a nice ring to it, a sweet name. He didnt know the female by personality, but her name was nice enough. Still, one could never judge by the others name and Saul nodded softly to her request to join Ichika.

"My name is Saul Stormbringer, its a pleasure to meet you."

He returned the greeting with a swish of his tail. Still early morning, and having travelled through the night, Saul surpressed a yawn by coughing softly to the side of himself. He shook his head and turned back with an apologetic look on his face, accompanied with a soft "Excuse me." Distraction over, the male rolled his shoulders and constructed his thoughts. He needed to know where she'd come from and if she'd commited any crimes, what her strengths were and what job she would like within the pack. They were the basics. Then the Creed and the task. Simple, almost.

"Could you tell me where you've come from, Aurora? Where are your family?" He asked pleasently, before his expression turned just a touch more serious. "Have you commited any crimes in your life?" He asked, tail swished once back and forth before he waited for her answer.

Saul's question was a typical thing to ask a joiner, but still it conjured up bad feelings. She ceased to wag her long tail and her lovely smile faded into a neutral expression. The past was not something Aurora found easy to talk about, but if she wanted to join a pack it was necessary. Might as well get on with it she thought. Reluctantly the white lady searched for an answer to the green eyed wolf's question.

“ I was born in the far south a nomadic pack where I spent most of my puppy hood. I was blamed for murder and exiled from the pack lands. I traveled hear to start a new life and to try to forget my past.”

The white lady paused as she searched her mind for any possible crime she could have committed. Her soft smile returned and her tail patted against her legs. This was something she could smile about. Aurora had been taught to be honest and taught that crimes were not to be tolerated. She dipped her head towards Saul respectively and continued to answer.

“I have not committed any crimes in my lifetime.” The odd eyed lady flicked her tail gently to the right as she finished her last word.

She felt herself climb closer to joining a pack with every word or action. Her tail slowed to a gentle pace. Aurora offered Saul a joyful toothy grin. She was just so happy it was hard to keep her joy in. Aurora felt like singing or humming but keep silent as she awaited his answer

He noticed her dropped expression and tried to remain pleasent and happy. He knew exactly what it meant to bring up the past, often painful. If someone asked him where he came from now, he would only tell them as much as being in Dahlia for most of his life. It was too painful to bring up the events that led to the Stormbringer brood being bought up in Dahlia. So as he expression dropped, Saul allowed his tail to sway softly in the breeze, his ears and eyes alert and bright. It was going to be hard for her, but unfortunately it was necessary. Ichikan lifestyle's were, quite obviously, very different than most and it was sometimes hard to discern whether or not a wolf would suit the lifestyle. He had found out only a few hours ago that Saluce had once again left. At least this time he'd left a note, which he intended to read shortly, explaining his absence. It was a kick in the teeth, but not wholly unexpected. Saluce was a warrior and a leader, two things he could never really be in Ichika.

Cinnamon backed ears flashed forward as she began to speak. Ears flashed against his head however as she told him why she was here. Framed for committing murder. It was a serious accusation indeed and for the moment, the agouti male didnt know how to process it. However, keen green eyes saw the soft smile and the swing of her tail return to his second question. Confusion marred his handsome face until she spoke, proclaiming she had not commited a crime in her life. She spoke with such conviction and honesty that Saul felt sorry for having doubted her. His own smile returned, ears and eyes retaining their alert and interested expression. He dipped his head in return before offering words.

"A shame such an awful crime was pinned on you, but I believe you have not commited such a crime. All is forgiven, Miss Aurora" There was just one or two more questions he needed to know before he could proceed to the Creed and Initiation task. "What skills do you have that will benefit Ichika, and the rest of Nova Scotia? We are a family, one unit made of many skills. What can you offer us?" He asked in a kind and gentle manner. There was always room for her, always room for someone to be welcomed in. But he wanted to know what she was interested in before he accepted her into Ichika.

She had an abundance of skills and could contribute to the pack by searing her knowledge but she did not think she would be completely happy doing teaching. She felt she did not have the patience, However she was a skilled healer and her travels had only sharped her skills. She would be quite happy contributing to the pack by healing or caring for others. Along with her human skills her healing talents would be worth mentioning to Saul. Aurora brushed the thick strands of her alabaster main away from her eyes as she spoke.

“ I can read and wight in English, Spanish, and French. I also know some sparse German. I have some mathematics . But I am a skilled healer. I believe I can serve Ichika no Ho-en best using this skill”

Aurora paused wondering if they already had a healer. A pack medic was an important position and may already be occupied by another wolf. She Pondered possibilities for a while finally deciding a pup keeper would be a lovely second choice. She had always had a a love for puppies. Their young innocence and boundless curiosity drew her to them, and they were drawn to her.

“I understand the position of healer is important and may be taken, and if that be the case I wouldn't mind being a pup keeper.”

The female launched into what she could do, and Saul was pleased to find that she was enthusiastic about her skills. One of the worst parts about a joining process was showing off what you could do, when all you really wanted was a nice quiet acceptance into the pack. Still, she was good at languages and he was surprised when she mentioned German. The image of a dark haired pup came into his mind, Verloren. She would probably be overjoyed that there was another in the pack who could speak her home tongue. He wondered about whether he should point Aurora in the direction of the young female, but figured he would leave it up to fate. If the two were meant to meet each other, they would. Saul was pleasently happy to find that the female specialised in healing. Saul had first aimed for the position she was going for now, and while Nayru had offered him the prestige rank that oversaw all of the Herold rank alongside Alae, he was pleased that there was another to share the joys of healing with him. He nodded softly however, as she conceeded to make a second decision.

"As far as I am aware, our healer position is open."

He reasurred her, tail swishing back and forth with a grin upon his lips. He could see that she would make a good member of Ichika, as long as she contributed to the health and propsperity of the pack. Green eyes settled on her mismatched eyes. "Please repeat after me, Aurora. I am a Etoiles, I am an Ichikan. I seek love in my heart, knowledge in my mind, and wisdom in my spirit. I will love my fellow Ichikans and know them as family to the fullest I can; I will devote myself to my duties and learn from my work and the work of others; I will try my best to embrace all walks of life, faith and love. I understand that if I devote myself to love, knowledge and wisdom I will learn my path to true personal happiness, and find my place in the circle of life." He spoke slowly, remembering the words Razekiel had spoken only a few hours before. She spoke with him, repeating each sentence as it came.

"Welcome to Ichika, Aurora. For your acceptance to be complete, you must undertake an initiation task to prove that you are dedicated to Ichika. This must be completed with another member of Ichika, the more the merrier." He paused for a moment, before deciding on her task. "I would like you to swim out to Naiades Lighthouse and retrieve a rock." He offered with a sage nod of his head. Smiling softly, the male stretched. "I shall leave you to explore your new home- but don't forget, the task must be completed soon, and with another member of the pack" He offered as parting words before he turned and moved off, back into Ichika.

Welcome and congratulations! You are now free to begin posting as a pack member, even if your joiner thread is not yet completed.

Your first task as a member of Ichika no Ho-en is to create a thread within the InH subforum performing the Initiation Task as directed by the Ichikan who accepted your character. This thread must be within the Ichika no Ho-en subforum and must have at least one other InH member within it. Feel free to create an all-welcome thread, and refer to the link given above or to the leaders in PM if you have any questions! Smile

Of course, there's plenty more to do, too!:

Look through the Ichika territories for interesting environments and scenarios to create threads in.
Your character has been titled as a Dai-In, but if your activity is consistently good, they can be promoted up into the Specialized tier of ranks, where your character will have a job that is theirs and theirs alone for the entire pack. Take some time and look through the Specialized rank listings and get a feel for where your character might fit for when that time comes!
Glance through the pack game and get a feel for what you can post about that will earn your points towards things like icons, titles, player-drawn art and more!
If you haven't yet, take some time to thoroughly read through Ichika no Ho-en's culture and policies pages so you may get a better feel of how the pack works and what you may or may not want to aim for with your character.

IC:Aurora was pleased to hear that the position of healer was open. She let her tail spring alive with a life of it's own. A flash of memory creep in between her thoughts like red sand blowing in to a agar door. Memories of the sisters relentless taunts and her previous home made the present seem like a foggy dream. She thought about pinching her arm just to see if she wasn't asleep in some human house. She shook her snowy ruff and perked her ears towards Saul who was now speaking.

“I am a Etoiles, I am an Ichikan. I seek love in my heart, knowledge in my mind, and wisdom in my spirit. I will love my fellow Ichikans and know them as family to the fullest I can; I will devote myself to my duties and learn from my work and the work of others; I will try my best to embrace all walks of life, faith and love. I understand that if I devote myself to love, knowledge and wisdom I will learn my path to true personal happiness, and find my place in the circle of life.” Aurora repeated at the same time spoke the.

Aurora was listened carefully to the task that she was to complete and watched Saul walk away. Her expression was caught somewhere between wounder and amusement as she looked towards the pack lands. The words swim out to and light house did not make much sense to the white lady who had grown up in the dry desert. The idea was foreign and bewildering to her. Aurora's ever present smile quickly returned. She was looking forward to her new life in Ichika no Ho-en.
