Post 1:
What a day it had been. For a place called The Zero, this city would be one that forever stuck to the memory of Vendetta, and the rest of his friends. When the young wolf had heard of a place that was called The Zero, the young brown furred wolf had been expecting some empty, flat place. Not an old abandoned city with massive and tall structures. Yes, living within a pack that was constantly on the move had is rough moments, but here and now standing on top of this building looking out on the world, he felt a strong surge of several emotions pulse through his limbs. Standing here in this abandoned city was one of the greatest thrills that he’d had in his young life.

’What sort of thing builds and rules over such a place. It’s incredible.’

He turned to wolf dog next to him and gave a small chuckle of amusement. ”Dose it really matter?” then he turned to face out over the edge of the rooftop out into the city and yelled at the top of his voice ”Because we’re the kings of this place now!” Shortly aver that, the timber wolf on the other side of him began to howl out at the sitting sun in excitement and joy and before long all three where singing together, proclaiming themselves kings of the city that would no doubt serve as their temporary home. Then when Vendetta’s mother’s voice joined in, he turned around as well to see that she had joined them on the rooftop.

’Alright you three, you need to rest, we continue north tomorrow, and at a faster pace cause’ you’re old enough now for it.’

Without hesitation, Vendetta moved to the passage that lead back into the building, stopping only long enough to receive a tender lick on the ear from his mother, and then stopping just short of the doorway to see if the others would follow.

This plan hadn’t sat so well with the light brown wolf at first, but as time had passed it had grown on him once he’d learned that both the other two were going along with it. The concept of leaving the pack that he’d been with his whole life was a questionable one, but one that he would gladly go along with as long as the other two were on board with it. So he silently began to sneak around the sleeping figures of the pack. He stopped only for a moment to gaze at this mother, the wolf that had brought him into this world and gone out of her way to raise him on her own. After that one brief moment of acknowledgement, he continued until he was at the mouth of the cave that the group had taken refuge in for the night.

With one last look back he debated staying and leaving in his mind. All his life he’d spent in this pack, ever sense he was a pup. And now he was leaving, finally taking his life into his own paws. That first step out of that cave felt like nails being driven into his paw, but the step after that felt wonderful. And after walking a good solid distance he broke off into a run. Time to join the other two at the lake.

Once he arrived at their planned meeting place, he only exchanged a brief glance with them and slowed to a walk but didn’t stop. His words where swift and commanding, “If we are going to do this we have to keep moving for the rest of the night and all day tomorrow. When the parents wake they are going to freak majorly.” And he fixed a stern gaze on Sixx, “Especially your father, because your only half wolf.” He didn’t want for his words to be so harsh, but they had to be to get this group moving.

“Now I’m going north.”

The voice that escaped this wolf's maw truly caught Vendetta l by surprise. Though he did not show it on his face it was still there. At first glance she was a kind and gentle enough fea simply out for a morning walk. But this voice. It was stern and strict, straight and to the point. It was covered in that military feel. This was not very high on Vendetta’s list of valued traits, but that was simply once again because of his upbringing. He wasn't a highly military type of wolf, despite his many traits; military structure was not one of the things that made Vendetta Vendetta.

However, it wasn't his place to go around judging others, so he simply looked past the fea's voice. She questioned him before offering her name. He noticed that she didn't offer her whole name, and for some reason that struck a good note somewhere deep in Vendetta. Wolves out here, they didn't realize how valuable something as simple as a last name could be, and so when greeting others they'd go tell their full name. Vendetta'd been taught by the dark past he'd come from after leaving his birth pack the value of keeping hidden who you are.

So with a friendly natured tone he returned her greeting and answered. "Hello there Noelle, my name is Vendetta. And yes as a matter of fact, I was on a morning run. I do so every morning. You are of course welcome to join me." Most morning didn't turn out quite as eventful though. Two random strangers that where from seemingly opposite upbringings, and both heading north sharing a morning conversation. How fitting.

Welcome to 'Souls!

Congratulations! You've been accepted into the craziest bunch of roleplayers on the vast Internet! We encourage you to keep checking out our information; you can find a wealth of it on the RP Guide. Don't feel pressured to read it all at once -- the guide is a huge resource and is meant to be used as a reference.

If You've Joined the Game As a...
  • ... Loner, do begin considering which of the packs you'd like to join. Survival as a Loner is less realistic -- wolves and other canines are generally social creatures, preferring to live in a pack structure!
  • ... IC pack joiner, you can now begin posting -- you may start your IC pack joining thread whenever you're ready. Make sure you check the pack information to see if the leadership requires anything extra from you!
  • ... OOC pack joiner, the leader still has to respond here before you can start roleplaying -- don't worry, though; if you're rejected from the pack you'll be titled as a Loner, and you're free to pursue other packs or the same one later.
Post-Joining Process
Mandatory:
  • Make an In Character post within five days. Post a thread request to get started, or consider starting or replying to an open thread.
  • Please let us know in the Absentee Thread if you plan to be absent for more than four days.
  • Keep reading! While there's only a minimum of three topics you have to read to join the game, we provide a wealth of information for a reason -- we expect players to read and reference this material often while they roleplay at 'Souls.
Preferred:
  • If you're leaving us, please try to let us know in the Player Updates forum. There is no penalty for leaving; you're free to re-join at any time later.
Still Need a Bit of Help?

Post any questions you may have in the Questions and Help forum. Check the FAQ first, though! The Mentors can assist you with writing, roleplaying, and understanding 'Souls concepts. Failing all else, contact a staff member.

If you need help getting adjusted to your pack, you should talk to your pack leader! They can help you to understand the pack's rank system and how to get a better rank, as well as direct you to plots, potential thread partners, and active members of the pack who may be interested in engaging you.
