In the End - Linkin Park

So after all the traveling that Vendetta had dedicated to, all that going north and north and north, this is where he'd landed. He'd been with a pack for a fair time now, time enough to separate from those who he had departed with. Time enough to hear that a half wolf he'd once thought of as his brother had gotten himself killed. Long enough to learn that being a loner wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Time enough for the light brown wolf to stumble across this pack border, and this truly incredible tree.

It was a great towering tree, and its trunk was adorned with many paintings and carvings the likes of which Vendetta hadn't seen sense he'd left that great and old city called The Zero. That old city that, with any luck, still served as home to his mother. By now, Vendetta had realized that he didn't want to be a loner, a wanderer, a wolf that just moved from place to place with sense of belonging. And so for him the choice he faced here and now wasn't a hard one. He could ether turn and leave this land before he was noticed and go about his business, or he could call out and join a back.

After gazing at the massive tree for a few more moments, the wolf sat and raised his maw to the low hanging sun and sang out in the dull evening light. Here he was, ready for another pack. Ready to stop moving on with out direction.

Smile

The female prowled the border in a form she rarely graced; Secui. She wasn't sure why she was in her large, hulking version of the normal lupus form, but her thick fur and lean muscles adorned her body, and she felt quite strong, and quite good because of it; she had taken to practicing more fighting whenever she got the chance, and was stronger for it as well. She knew that some of the former members of Cercatori d'Arte didn't think of her as much of a leader, but she looked the part now, with her strong outward appearance and the glitter in her eye.

Her keener, larger ears picked up the howl that someone emitted from the Border Tree sooner than they would have if she were in her Optime form, so she raced with great speed towards the tree, feeling the wind rushing past her and feeling very alive. She skidded to a stop in front of the towering tree, its trunk thick and colorful with the paint she and her pack mates had splashed onto it, as well as the lettering "Cercatori d'Arte" she had written so long ago. In front of the tree, staring at it, was as wolf.

He was an average-sized wolf in a Lupus form - that, or he wasn't Luperci at all. His coat was brown, and he seemed to be tired, like he had been traveling too long; she had seen that on many people that came and went, and wondered if he was here to join, as so many of them were.

"Good afternoon," she said, glad that she wasn't in her Optime form - even if she was considerably larger than he in Secui form, she hated to be a bipedal while others were quadrupeds. "You are on the borders of Cercatori d'Arte, as you may have guessed from this tree. How may I help you?"

Wolf Like Me - TV on the Radio

There was a response rather quickly after Vendetta's call, which was more than delightful and at the same time kind of a bitter pill to swallow. A greeter was here now, there was no turning back beyond his point. But there was also the wolf that had come to greet him. She was much bigger than him, wight a thick main of hair and very nicely muscled limbs. She was an intimidating thing the likes of which Vendetta had never seen before. He'd been lucky enough, or rather unlucky, to avoid the Luperci his whole life up to this point.

After looking at her with a thought consumed face for a moment, he gave a respectful bow of his head. He wanted to keep to his manors, one because he was in fact a loner on pack land, and two because he didn't want to tangle with this wolf. "Greetings, wolf of Cercatori d'Arte. I am Vendetta, and I mean to join this pack." His voice was confident. He was glad to say those words. For some reason it was a weight off his shoulders. "That is, of course, if I am allowed. He added smoothly.

And then his dark yellow eyes once again fell back onto the over all figure of this creature before him. She wasn't like any of the dogs and mutts that he'd seen in his life. Her figure was with no doubt that of a wolf. But it was still unlike any wolf he'd ever seen before. He wanted to simply ask her straight out what she was, but that was worlds away from the topic at hand, and he wasn't sure how touchy she might be about the topic, so he simply held his tongue and waited for her to respond.

One of the first things she noticed about the man was that as he looked at her, it was with a look of deep thought, or perhaps awe, although he covered the emotions well. He didn't comment on his emotions, however, and he dipped his head in a sign of respect, asking if he would be able to join the pack. Skye had thought as much; the air of wanderlust and the loner-scent about him confirmed that he had been a loner before, possibly traveling great distances, but now wanted a home to stay in.

She didn't, however, want to be too eager in accepting him; she felt cautious at the moment. "I'm glad to hear it," she said, looking at him in the eye. "Before you call Cercatori d'Arte your home, could you tell me what skills you have that would benefit us, and perhaps a little about yourself?" The female used to not like to ask such questions, but she had learned that she had to - she held nothing against this loner, and felt that he was honest and hard-working, but she couldn't always be sure, and it was good to know a bit about someone who was joining. That way you knew your pack better - she also would like to know what rank to put this man in.

Smoke and Mirrors - RJD2

She seemed cautious, and that could have been more or less or Vendetta's own doing, what with the way he was eying her up. But he almost couldn't help it. All his life he'd aged knowing that the wolf was the most dominate of and canid animal, and yet here was the fea that easily had him out sized and out classed. She was unlike any canid animal he'd ever before beheld, and he wanted greatly to simply ask what she was. If she was some kind of greater wolf? Or even more than that. This was the first time that Vendetta had ever really encountered one of her kind.

The brown wolf donned a smile when she said that she was glad to hear that he wanted to join, but the typical question that followed next didn’t catch him by surprise. He’d been at this mother’s side more than once when she’d greeted new comers into the wandering pack that they’d lived in, though at the time he’d been little more than a young pup. He’d still been old enough to remember though. So with a moment’s thought his spoke honestly.

"Let me think... I'm a good hunter, but then again that comes with living alone don't it." He gave a chuckle at that thought, as it amused him for some reason he couldn't explain. Then he continued. "I suppose I could entertain too, if that counts as a skill." Then, for just a brief moment, he stopped to recall some of the many tales and songs he'd heard and seen in his travel. For a moment Vendetta became a tad nerves, even biting his lower lip just a tad. Seeing as he'd been born into his first pack, this was the first time he'd ever really had to join one, and it that wasn't enough to make one nerves, even just a little, then few things where.

don't worry bout it!

She eyed the smaller wolf appreciatively as he listed his skills - Galileo was quite a competent hunter, having done many small hunts, but she knew that one man couldn't hunt for the whole pack - he needed help, and it seemed that that help was sitting here in front of her. He then also stated that he was an entertainer - that also piqued Skye's interest, as most of the members she had at this point were craftsmen, builders, or traditional artisans - they hadn't had a performer, someone that could entertain them, in a while.

Her face transformed from the stern one she had had when she first met this wolf to a gentler one, one that she used when dealing with the members of the pack; she knew that he would be a good addition to Cercatori d'Arte. "Then welcome," she said warmly, stepping back as to allow him to walk into the territory, "to Cercatori d'Arte."

Gimme Shelter - Puddle of Mudd

The brown wolf tilted his head back and released a sigh of relief when her face softened and she welcomed him to the pack. Vendetta then brought his head back down in another bow of respect, so glad that he now had a place to call home. His voice carried a little more energy on it, a clear sign of his happiness that he'd been accepted into this pack, as he addressed the wolf in front of him. "Many thanks, wolf of the Cercatori d'Arte. This is like a breath of fresh air for me." Those words where a simple and easy way to put his gratitude.

Then, his eyes fell to his paws, and with a strange energy now in his body, he lifted his front paw and, taking a moment to think about what he was doing, stepped into the pack land that he'd just joined. It brought music to his head. This was new for him. He wasn't an all but care free pup in a loose pack with little more than a code tying it together. He was now a pack wolf, with pack laws to follow. And though that conversion might be tough, it was one he couldn't wait to start on.

His head turned slowly from the left to the right, taking in his new home for the first time. He worn a proud smile on his face, like he knew all along that he'd end up here. But after the wave of joy for joining a pack for the first time faded, he remembered his place. He was just a lowly peon, and this wolf before him was one of authority, or at least felt like one from her presence. Returning his gaze to her, he was again felled with wonder about her form. "Again, I thank you."
