Private for Jazper-face SmileSmile Set in Cottontail Valley, Soran likes it there XD Apologies for the rambly-ness, can't seem to get out of ramble mode at the moment XD

It was early evening, the evening star was hanging in the sky already, along with the moon, a half circle hanging in the sky, if one looked closely enough they would have been able to see the other half, shaded but present as the moon made it's may to being full once again. To the West the sun was setting, throwing up vibrant pinks and oranges into the darkening sky, the Eastern side of the sky was already dimming, becoming an ever deeper blue as the sun sank, giving the promise of an inky blackness fairly soon. The few clouds that drifted lazily across the sky were painted gold and blushed with pink as the sleepy sun's rays carressed them. The heavy orb itself was glowing a deep red, sinking slowly down over the horizon, making it appear as if the lands were tipping backwards to cover it, which was of course true, the turn of the Earth was what made the sun set, but it was a mind boggling thought. All around small animals were sniffing the air, most notably the rabbits, most active at this time, their little white tails flashing as the bounced amongst the tall grasses and flowers, now closing without the touch of the sun's rays to keep them open. Small birds sang a dusk chorus from surrounding trees, perhaps calling their young back to their nests, announcing that it would soon be time to sleep, that night was falling quickly and that it was time to be safe and up in the air, out of reach of any night time predators.

They could have, of course, been warning of the approach of Soran, the ebony fae was walking slowly, hitching her leather satchel up higher on her shoulder every few steps. Her eyes roamed the area, fixing on the rabbits, musing for a moment if it would be a good time to go hunting, but truth be toold there was no point, her satchel was filled with plenty of dried rabbit, enough to last her a few more day's journeying at the very least. Perhaps if she had been running lower on supplies then she would have considered hunting a couple of them, it would not have been a difficult task, they were too focused on eating, too sluggish with the promise of sleep in the not too distant future, they would have made fairly easy prey, but the ebony fae was never one to take something simply for greed, she had enough to eat her fill already, any more would be unnecessarily excessive. The ebony huntress would not worry any small creatures this evening. She would simply enjoy the coming night and complete the task that she had come here to complete.

The truth of the matter was that she was here to see Mati again, she had something for her, well at least she thought she did, something she would like. In the week that the dark lady had been gone, she had been collecting things, she had found a set of small paintbrushes and had instantly thought of her mottled brown granddaughter. She had decided that she would give them to her as a present, or perhaps even a peace offering, even if it all came to nothing she wanted her to have them, but she knew well enough not to expect much, she had never been one for attempting to buy love and she was not about to start now. Emerald eyes closed as the dark lady sniffed the air, checking that she had not yet crossed the pack's borders, even though she knew some of the members now, there were still many that she did not know, and she was not fool-hardy enough to tresspass and risk offending anyone, she needed others on her side in instances like this, if she wished to regain the affection of her granddaughter it would not do her well to manage to get herself banned from the packlands, she was unsure whether the reddish brown female would come looking for her if she did. In an instant the fragile relationship she had with her grandchild would be broken, perhaps for good.

The dark female reached out and touched one of the closed flowers as she thought about Mati, her thumb stroking it's folded petals as she looked at it, even in this dim light it showed itself as a beautiful, vrbrant red, no wonder there were so many artistic wolves in these lands, there was so much inspiration here, one simply had to look out of their window to see some scenery that just cried out to be painted. Soran wished momentarily that she had learnt to paint, captured some of the old land's beauty before it was taken away from it, but alas she had not and it was too late now, there was no point living in that regret. With that thought the dark female sat down, stretching her long legs out in front of herself, crossing one ankle over the other. She reached into her satchel and pulled out a small flask, taking a sip from it she relaxed for a moment, she would sit here for a while and enjoy the scenery and then she would cross the borders and call for Mati, she was certain that she was allowed a little rest first.

OOC: Ramble away XD

WC:300+

He had an idea, an idea he wanted to share with his Italian mate but she was nowhere to be found. It amazed him that Ghita could stay in the same lands as he did and yet stay out of his sight for the majority of the day. Perhaps the wild-hearted lady was simply good at keeping to herself. Yet he wished that she would come home early tonight so he could talk to her. There was nothing like cuddling at night, just before you fall asleep, and discussing your hopes a dreams with the one you loved.

For now he sat in a comfy chair reading a book about how Halifax use to be. Back before the wild plants over grew the buildings and the buildings collected dust it had been beautifully confusing. Humans seemed to all want to live in a crowded environment but they had managed, much like one very large pack living in a small area. Closing the book with a sigh he rose to his feet and moved towards the window, hoping he could catch a glimpse of her in the moonlight.

Squinting slightly a small growl began to form in his chest. There was a black figure out in the valley that he had not seen around and his instincts drove him downstairs and around back to check out the situation. As he approached he caught the scent of the wolf. Stopping suddenly he had to take another whiff to verify what he had just smelt. All at once his ears perked up and his tail dropped. “Soran?” he asked, as he stopped again slightly behind the older lady. The name he had pulled from his past, a burst of luck. They had met briefly when he was a young teenager but other than that it had just been the regular encounters around the territory before she left. Now he was much taller and broader, lined with muscle from years of running and sparring. He also wore clothing now in the form of beige shorts and an open powder blue dress shirt. “Haven’t seen you around these parts in a couple years.: He teased lightly.

WC: 1060 Oh good, I'm glad you don't mind Smile

The ebony lady was lost in thought completely, she was staring at the ground before her, watching the flowers dance with the breeze that blew around them in the dusky light with a slight smile. These lands were beautiful, oh how she had missed them, she had made these lands her home for a long time ago, she missed them in a way, they had been filled with good and bad memories, when she had left the bad had entirely eclipsed the good, tainting these lands for her, making her heart ache whenever she thought about them. That was why she had had left, she had to, her son had been so broken when she had left, he had asked her to end is life, the one thing the ebony lady could never have done for him, Soran would have walked over burning broken glass for Conri, but he had taken her devotion too far, the red boy asking his mother to kill him had been the last straw for her, despite what he had done, she could never had committed such a crime, it had brought terrible memories of Rokus back, and she had been entirely unable to cope. So the female had packed up and left the lands, not looking back for an instant, she had intended never to return. But eneviatably the pull had been too strong, this had been her home for far too long for her to simply forget it, her blood lived here, her kin. The lady's feet had happily found their own way back here without much guidance from her brain, they had walked on an automatic pilot back here, and she was happy that they had if she was honest. She had not realised how much she had missed these lands until she had returned, and she had already seen so many wolves who she considered family, her grandson, Taliesin, Noah, the blood of her former mates and of course her reddish brown granddaughter that she was waiting for here, she so hoped that she would come. Their last meeting had not gone well, the red girl had turned her back on her grandmother, and although Soran did not blame her it still hurt the ebony female deeply, she wanted to have a relationship with her, she knew that she did not deserve it, not after what had happened in the past, not after what Conri had done, afterall he had tainted the family in her grandchildren's eyes, but he was not his mother, just as she was not him. She hoped beyond all that her grandchildren would see that in time, that they would allow her to be a part of their lives, she did not expect miracles, she was not about to start handing out advice and kissing scraped knees better (for a start they were too old for that), but she wanted something, anything, just some chance of redemption.

The reverie was broken by the sound of someone speaking behind her, the ebony lady jumped, laeping to her feet as quickly as she could, scattering pieces of dried rabbit across the ground. The female was nervous, this was a male that knew her, but she could not place the voice, she was wary of males that knew her, afterall her track record with males was not good, although all the males she knew that had harmed her were now dead, but still, she was wary, especially as she was on packlands where she was now considered a stranger. Then again anyone who was about to force her from the lands would not have greeted her with her name she was guessing, afterall most would have just said "get out" if they did not recognise her, even Mati had almost said that, before realising who the dark lady was, and then she had said it even more forcefully, that was still a thorn in Soran's heart. The ebony lady turned slowly, her eyes roving across the ebony male before her, she knew him, there was something about him. It had been a long time since she had seen anyone, so perhaps he had only been young when she had last seen him. Her emerald eyes fixed on his gaze for a moment as her made a teasing comment about having not seen her for a couple of years. And then suddenly it hit the ebony female, she did know him indeed, it was her former lover's adopted son. She had not seen the obsidian male for a very long time, but it was most definately him."Jazper!" She declared, smiling at him as the realisation washed over her. He had grown, he was an adult now, not the lean teenager he had been, his shoulders much broader, he now gained a marking across one eye as well. Soran smiled, gazing at him, how odd it was to have found so many wolves who she once had known or should have known before she had left. She was amazeed at her luck, having seen so many familiar faces and so many friendly new ones.
"It has been too long, you've grown so much, I barely recognised you then for a moment." Soran said with a little chuckle, visably relaxing now she knew she was in no trouble, her tail lowering and wagging slightly as her shoulders drooped and her face relaxed into a proper smile.
"How have you been? I expect a lot must have happened?" The dark female asked, gesturing to his facial markings. She was very glad to have come across him, in fact she could barely believe her luck, she had caught up with so many of Deuce's family, it was wonderful, it made her feel as if her former mate was still in the lands, although she had left she still remained in Soran's heart, it nudged a reminder to the ebony fae with every beat, and at least now there were physical reminders as well, here they were, her children, dotted about the lands. She was so glad to know they had stayed, it gave her hope that perhaps her middle litter of children were about the place as well, or perhaps even Conri, she would probably be the only one who would be glad to see him, but she missed him so, she missed them all.

Her shock stopped the man in his tracks as he looked at the scattered bits of meat. It took the older lady to recognize him and in that awkward silence Jazper’s tail stilled. Maybe she didn’t know who he was? After all the last time they had seen each other was almost three years ago. It felt like that point of time was a world away form now. Suddenly her demeanor changed and he heard his own name. Tail resuming its wagging the large warrior quickly apologized, “Didn’t mean to startle you.” A guilty grin lined his muzzle.

As she relaxed his mind lowered it’s alerts and went back into the informal daily routine. He dwarfed his old acquaintance in both directions but still he regarded her with respect, knowing her to be a previous member of the territory. A look of confusion washed over his face as she motioned up at him. After a second he realized what she was pointing at, “Oh, This!?” He chuckled as he pointed to his own marking. He had received the sun tattoo around his left eye when he was about a year and a half, old news for him but Soran had left before then. “It’s old now. Just a little reminder of the stories my father use to tell me. He believed that there was a mighty wolf warrior named Fenris who brought the sun into the sky every day.” Smiling slightly as he thought of his parents he added, “I always wanted to be like Fenris when I was a kid.”

Taking a seat in the long grass he let a large hand pat the ground beside him in hopes that the dark lady would join him. “Tons has happened since you left. Even just for me personally.” Opening his shirt a little more the moonlight brought out the white scarring. Four large scratch marks traveled from his right shoulder all the way down to the opposite hip. “We had a bit of an incident with a bear a couple months ago.” Not wanting to dwell on that one event he began to ramble off other things, “I have two litters of my own with Savina’s sister Ghita. Two girls and three boys. The youngest are almost adults now. We had a really rough winter this year, got stormed in and that old barn got destroyed last year.” Catching himself going on he let his amber eyes fall on Soran’s greens. “What brings you back?”

It had been years since she was last in Crimson Dreams. In fact, it had been Twilight Vale back then and Naniko had yet to leave. People came and left all the time but it was rare that they would return and when they did they were usually looking for something. It was odd that Soran would come back after all of these years just to say hello. “Are you going to be joining the pack again?” It was possible that the wolfess had returned to the old lands and was in need of a home or maybe there was more.

WC: 1793?! Sorry I did even more rambling XD Smile

The female could not take her eyes off of the younger male, it was so funny to see so many changes in him. She had been having to get used to a lot of changes recently, Haven had become a broad shouldered tall male, he was no longer the small ball of fluff that had tripped over his words and his own paws; Mati had grown into a beautiful woman, knowing her own mind and not wanting anything to do with her dark grandmother, her son had become a murderer and Nani had changed in another way, there was something deeper there within her, something darker, the way she had spoken about raising "better pups this time" had raised alarm bells in Soran's mind, what had happened. So much had changed, packs had fallen, formed and joined together, there was so much to adjust to, it had been a shock to the ebony lady's system, she had not expected it to be the same as when she had left, she did not expect time to freeze as her feet crossed the borders away from the lands, but so much had changed, and it felt like it had all happened in the blink of an eye for the fae, time seemed to be speeding up now that she was older. It was true that a lot had changed within her own life as well, she had given birth to another litter of pups, Rain, Flavian, Florence and Kiwi were now all almost grown themselves, the fae had almost belonged to another pack, she had taken another mate and she had left that all behind, just as she had done these lands, though on far more amicable terms. It just seemed that all that had taken no time at all for the fae, thinking about how much had changed in a space of six short years was so odd to the fae, let alone the two that she had been gone. She realised that in her lifetime she had seen so many changes, wolves had grown, had their own pups, died, changed, committed crimes, been the noblest they could be, the old lands had burned away into falling ash and cinders and the wolves had relocated and found themselves new homes. So much had changed in her life she could not quite understand why she was having so much difficulty adjusting this time, perhaps it was that her pups had grown, her grandchildren too had grown and given her great grandchildren, maybe it was because it reminded her of her age. The sable female had never been one to feel her age at all, she was still sprightly and active, her mind as sharp as it had always been, but it was true that she was ageing just as everyone else did, she was nearly eight years old now, the small silver flecks along her scar line and in her mane were evidence of that, it would not be that long until she was an old lady, not in the grand scheme of things.

Still she smiled and even chuckled a little as the guilty smile crossed Jazper's face, she knew he had not meant to frighten her, it was simply that she was on edge after all the time she had been alone, a wanderer's life was always full of danger, excitement too, but one would always have to be on their guard against enemies and strangers, especially a lone female such as herself. It was taking her a little while to remember that in these lands she was safe, it was very slim of a chance that anyone she came across would mean her any harm. Well perhaps except for her grandchildren, but they did not mean her harm, they simply did not want her in their lives, which hurt her sufficiently, almost as if they had given her a physical wound.
"Don't worry about it Jazper, I'm just a little cautious nowadays, you never know who's lurking when you're travelling alone after all. I'm safe with you though I suppose, unless you have become and unrivalled ruffian in the time I have been gone?" She said, a chuckle escaping her lips, along with a teasing smile crossing them, she was glad to see him again, glad to have someone with whom she could share a joke or some well meaning teasing. The male then gestured to his eye, the lady liked the marking, she had often wondered about getting another tattoo across her own eye to cover the scar, but she had decided against it, her scar was a badge of honour, a sign that she had survived, to cover it would suggest she was ashamed of that part of her past, and she was far from that, the dark lady was proud of her own resilience.
"I see, it suits you, it's always nice to have a marking that you did not recieve at birth, I like them, it shows that you have your own individual personality I always think. And the story behind it is a good one. The fae smiled again at the male, her mind flashing momentarily to Lucifer, she had never been particuarly keen on the ebony male herself, even though he had been her first love's son, she had always found him tempestous and difficult to cope with, he had once even tried to stab her. She decided not to say anymore on the subject of Jazper's father, it seemed that he must have had a nicer, softer side in order to pass on marvellous stories to his children, but she was still distrustful of him and thought it better that she did not speak to much on the topic of him.

Jazper sat and Soran took the offer to sit beside him happily, stretching her long legs out before herself again, crossing them at her ankles, placing her arms behind her and resting her weight on the palms of her hands, she looked up to the sky for a moment, smiling at the darkness beginning to coat it, looking at the little pinpricks of light that glittered in the velvet canvass that they had been placed upon. She turned to look back at the male as he spoke again, she knew that tonnes had happened, but it seemed that there would be more for this male than most. He opened his shirt to reveal a scarred chest and the ebony fae gasped, they certainly put her own small scars into perspective, she had recieved nothing like that herself, being lucky enough to have avoided any attacks like that.
"My goodness! It looks as if the wounds were quite severe, are you alright now? They don't cause you any pain?" The female asked, her voice tinted with concern for the young male, she did not like the idea of anyone she considered kin being injured like that, especially someone that was related to Deuce, her former mate was still an idol in her own mind, she could not bear the idea of anyone who had had her affections lavished upon them being hurt in such a way, she could not bear the idea that it might hurt her pale lady.

Soon the topic changed to happier subjects though, it seemed as if the Marino clan was indeed here to stay, this made Soran smile, she was glad that Savina had found family and brought them here to help populate the lands, and two litters of pups? That in itself was shocking, but also delightful, so much had happened since the lady had left.
"My, my, everyone does seem to have been busy whilst I have been away, I keep meeting pups that are related to wolves I once knew well, it's funny how quickly time passes is it not?" She asked, although she already knew that for most parents it did feel like that, one moment you were holding a tiny bundle of puppy shaped fluff and looking away for just a moment you found yourself presented with a long limbed teenager. It was so startling how quickly time seemed to pass with children, it seemed only moments ago that Soran was walking around the Syemv house with Conri at her heels, listening to him yip happily and question everything and everyone they came across and now he was a grandfather, although she was certain he did not know it, his actions had driven him from the lands and now he had missed out on so much, like his dark mother. she listened again to the male as he spoke of the troubles that had faced the pack, her ears drooped, it was a shame that the old barn had gone, she had liked it there, she would miss it should she chose to come back here.

Then came the question that she had been expecting, why was she back here, the answer was simple, well there were two answers, she was back in the lands to seek out family and because the pull of her old life had been too much to bear; and she was here tonight because she wanted to see Mati again, to once again try to patch up their broken relationship.
"I came home because much has changed for me as well, I have had another litter of pups, they're living in a pack to the North of here, not within our lands though, they made me realise that I missed the other's in my family and my friends, my entire life here, this was my home for so long I cannot stay away from it it seems. So I came here seeking to regain some of my old life, and hopefully to find some family, I have already seen Haven and Mati, but I have yet to see Khaden or Dhalia, I do not suppose that either of them have been through here have they?" The lady first explained and then asked, she was careful not to mention Conri's name, there was too much bad blood between him and this pack to bring up her red boy, she did not want to make Jazper feel uncomfortable. In response to the male's other question she nodded, smiling at him slightly.
"I was thinking of coming back here eventually yes, but I have other things to do first, there are a few I must seek out before I choose a place to settle. Tell me, who is still here? Have the packmates changed must since I was last here?" She asked, smiling at the male, she could not help but be glad to see him again, it was nice to know he was still here and apparently doing very well for himself.

Smiling at Sorans joke Jazper nodded along, “It’s better to be safe than sorry I suppose.” It was strange to think about what he would be like if he was more like Lucifer, if his birth father’s values had not rubbed off on him and Lucifer had shown his true color and taught Jazper different. It was very possible that, given his unfortunate childhood, the friendly giant would have grown into a rather nasty piece of work. “Anyone who comes to Crimson Dreams is safe under my watch.” He chuckled with a wink, “No funny business here.” He accepted the compliment on his tattoo with a flattered smile. It was rare that he got to show off the tattoo as everyone in Crimson Dreams knew his face or had seen it around anyway. He had chosen the symbol with care; it was a part of who he was.

As he showed the dark lady his scars he began to frown slightly, remembering the accident and the miss commination. He hoped the bear had recovered after his near fatal blow. At Soran’s shock he brought his golden eyes to meet her greens once again and shrugged, “Some days it’ll burn a little but they’re almost fully healed now. We had a bit of a miss communication, it turns out the bear was a friend of a pup that use to live here but when I appeared Savina was being very violent and the bear was about to retaliate.“ Pausing he began to trace the scars with a finger, “I will always put my life at risk before I let someone's life be taken.” His words couldn’t be truer to his heart. Regardless of the accident he would always throw himself in dangers was for the benefit of others.

As the older lady began to explain why she had returned Jazper sat quietly, ears perked in her direction to show that he was listening. He was surprised to hear that she had another litter. In his mind she was old, much older than himself for she had been old when he was a pup. Maybe he would also have many more litters in his lifetime? The thought certainly was interesting, as it appeared to be difficult enough keeping track of five children. She spoke two names, one of which he recalled from his teenage years. “I’ve never heard of Dhalia sorry.” He admitting grudgingly, “Khaden left when we were still Twilight Vale. Went and joined up in that pack that was full of hippies…. something Hallow.” Recalling the last part of the pack name vaguely. “That pack broke up a long time ago though and I never heard from him again.” The midnight male felt bad for sharing such news with Soran, she was searching for them and he had no real answers.

To her final question he had a solid answer for though, “Wolves come and go of course. There aren't many originals are still here. There’s Savina, Anu, Kansas and myself. Ehno and Ghita, Savina’s siblings, came over form Italy a couple years back. Most of the younger members are our pups combined and recently we’ve had an influx of new members.” It was sad that most of the old member shad left but the few that had stayed had brought up a family in the pack.

Soran was smiling at the male, listening to him speak, what a funny situation she had found herself in, in another universe, where things had panned out differently, where other choices had been made she would have stayed with Deuce, they would probably still be mates even to this day, she would never have left and had her final litter of pups, but she would be sat here with her adopted son, she would be a grandmother to his children, it was a very strange thoughts for the ebony female, how different life could have been if things had worked out differently. Not that it made any difference to how Soran felt about the younger ebony male, he was kin to her in her mind, after all Deuce had loved him so much to adopt him, and so the ebony female would love him just as dearly, because her pale lover had loved him. She smiled at the male's reassurance about her being safe here, it would seem that he had become quite a guardian, she was proud of him, the role suited him, she had always thought of him as being destined for great things, this act of nobility and bravery by protecting his pack just proved that and reinforced the idea even further in her mind. The lithe female's ears twitched gently as she listened to him speak, they turned slightly to better catch what he was saying. He showed her his scars and spoke about what had happened, Soran's ears drooped slightly, she knew that Savina could be a vicious creature when she wanted to be, the dark leader had once confessed it to her in a conversation that was shared between the two a long time ago, but it was such a shame that Jazper had been injured because of it, and no doubt the bear was probably fairly injured as well, chances were a wound like the one the tattooed male had recieved would have come with retaliation for the bear as well. It would not have been taken lightly and no doubt the bear had been punished, that was a shame as well, the bear would have reacted against the attack, but if it was all part of a misunderstanding then it would not have deserved it, not really. Again Soran was proud of the jet male, he had taken a blow that was meant for his leader and he seemed to be proud of it, he was indeed a noble soul, putting himself at risk like that for the sake of another, to save them before they were injured severly or killed, it was indeed something that required a lot of bravery, the ebony female was astonished at how brave wolves could be when it was required of them.
"I see, it's such a shame when a misunderstanding turns ugly like that. Is Savina alright? And the bear? It was very brave of you to step in the way, I can see from here that they must have been quite serious wounds. I would offer you something for them, but as you said they're almost healed, there is not much point when they're at that stage. If only I had been here when it had first happened, I could have been of some use, I could have stitched the wounds at least. Although I suppose the pack would not have gone without a healer?" The jet female said, looking at the wound, it was true, she was fairly practiced at sewing wounds closed neatly, she had infact reattatched the tip of her own ear when it had been all but torn off. She wished she could have been here to help, although the scars looked like they had healed nicely and that there was no further risk of infection.

The female nodded slowly as Jazper said that he had never heard of Dhalia. She was expecting in a way, her red daughter had been a bit of a recluse, and then she had been infected with the addled thinking of her half brother, she had worshipped him and their psychopathic father, she had become severly unhinged, it was as if her evil father had taken over her. It was perhaps for the best that Jazper had never encountered her, she had been far from stable the last time the ebony female had seen her, which was not helped by the jet wolf laughing at her, she could not help it though, Dhalia believed so strongly that her father had loved her, her father had been an evil creature completely incapable of any feeling, let alone love. Soran could not help but laugh at her, she had hoped that by being cruel to her somehow her red girl would snap out of whatever spell it was that had a hold over her. It had not worked though, and she had not seen her red girl again, she missed her dearly though, despite her madness she was still her daughter, she wanted a chance to help the poor girl before she did something that she could not take back.
"It is probably for the best that you never met Dhalia actually, she was my daughter, Khaden's twin, the pair could not be more opposite, Dhalia was not... stable if I am honest, it is perhaps for the best that she left her brother and this pack alone." The female said, conceeding to wisdom, yes even though it did not help her find her it was for the best that she had not come back here, she might have caused trouble and then where would they be? The female nodded again as Jazper spoke of Khaden, so he had tried to branch out on his own, found another pack? Soran did not blame him, she herself was a victim of wandering feet, a lust for travel and adventure, for new experiences and friends, new challenges, it seemed to be something that she had passed along in her genes, something that was as natural to those who shared her blood as breathing was.
"Ah I see... it is a shame that you do not know where he is, I suppose then that is my trail cold here, all i can do is hope he comes home again, I always do so I do not see why he would not." The fae said, although it was difficult for her to hide the way her ears drooped with the sadness that he son was not here, she had been hoping beyond anything that he was, she needed to rebuild the long destroyed bridge between the pair of them, she needed his forgiveness to stop her feeling so guilty. Just to have known that he was alive and happy would have been enough, she hoped he was more than anything, wherever he was now.

So the pack had become more of a family affair had it? This did not surprise Soran, she had lived through the times of Chimera, when every second wolf in the pack had been a D'Angelo or a De Le Poer, it had always made her laugh, especially now it seemed that Naniko had lived up to her surname, on her fourth litter of pups, they had always been good wolves that Soran had been very fond of, but they were indeed prolific breeders. And of course for a time Syemv had been populated by Russos, the ebony fae was used to this sort of thing, when one found a mate within a pack and had pups it was usual for the pups to stay around as well, it made for a good united pack, when everyone was as close as to be related by blood anyway what harm did it do to actually be blood relatives? She nodded as the male spoke, the silver hoops in her left ear glittering in the dimming light as she did so.
"Ah I see, well that is marvellous, it must be lovely to have all of your family so close to you, well some of it at least. What else has happened? have you kept the old house?" The ebony fae asked, her voice now more questioning, the sadness gone from it again, curiosity was always good for stopping her dwelling too much on things that caused heartache.

He knew that it was by pure luck that he was still alive, the thickness and number of long slashes on his chest as a testament to this fact. He was unaware that Soran was a healer but was not surprised, she had always seemed to be a gentler soul to him as a pup and even now as they spoke he felt reassured by her presence. “We have a couple of brilliant healers.” A soft but proud smile remained plastered on his muzzle as he talked about Crimson Dreams. “Two of Savina’s daughters Cambria and Amata are both wonderful. Amata tended to me daily for weeks after the attack.” The attack had been a mistake and he was okay with that now. At first it had torn him up inside to know that he had almost brought death to one of the pups friends, as he was a very open and caring male, “Everyone is okay. The bear got medical attention while I was passed out. We were lucky to be on pack lands.” There was no telling if he would still be breathing if they had been any further away from the mansion.

It amused the dark wolf to hear Soran talk about her daughter in such a way. He was all too certain that many mothers had looked at their children and shaken their heads in annoyance and disappointment at their behavior. Sophia was certainly giving Jazper and Ghita a similar situation although she certainly wasn’t ‘unstable’. Her sadness was visible to the sensitive giant as he watched her ears droop slightly and he suddenly was hit with guilt. Khaden had been a nice guy and he should have stayed in touch, but it was too late for that now. The pack had remained mostly the same, never changing to much. “Yep we all live in the manor together. We made a cottage for goats and such out of the remains of Old Red. Other than that the land is basically the same. We seem to move at a slow pace here.” It was meant in the nicest of ways. Crimson Dreams was a place safe from harm and change, a haven from the rest of the rushed world.

Don't worry, I seem to be the queen of rambling XD I apologise for the wait on this, I have been super busy OOC at the moment :S WC:1040

The tall slender female listened as the male spoke, still worrying about his scars, he would have been in so much pain, she would have hated to have seen him like that, she cared for him as if he were family, his closeness to Deuce making him automatically so in her mind. She had loved his adopted mother more than anyone she had ever known, if the universe only gave wolves one big love in their lives then Deuce was hers, she had adored the pale female, they had been there for one another through the most horrid and the most wonderful times of their lives. Soran had been there at the birth of her eldest pups, just as Deuce had helped her bring Conri into the world. The pair of them, even now were bonded at the heart, Soran still felt the tug of the snowy female even here, a small pull at her heartstrings every now and again, she wondered often if Deuce felt the same, perhaps she did, the pull was almost physical for the ebony female, had she any clue where to even start looking for the pale lady she may have gone hunting for her by now, just to know she was safe and happy would be enough for the jet lady, even though she was unsure that Deuce still loved her, after all she had chosen Luicfer over her all that time ago. But then again the ebony male had been very jealous of his former step mother's relationship with Deuce, perhaps the pale female had indeed still loved her, the dark female supposed that she would never know now, now that the pale female seemed to have gone missing from the lands, there was nothing that she could do about it, perhaps if she were to come back then she would have her answer. Oh how she missed the pale female; the dark female spent a lot of time missing loved ones nowadays, her children, her grandchildren, old lovers, old friends, that had been why she had come back here, the hope that she could rekindle some of her old relationships was too strong for her, the pull of these old familiar lands being too tempting, and now she was here finding that so many she had known had moved on, but already she was finding those she considered family, perhaps her luck was changing.

The fae nodded as the male spoke of the healers of the pack, she was slightly shocked to hear that Savina had had pups, but she supposed that that was to be expected, she had been gone a long time, a lot must have happened in her absence.
"It is funny to think of Savina having children, it has been so long since I have last seen her of course, but it had never occured to me that she might have had children. Two of them are healers you say? Well I am glad that you had someone skilled to look after you, it would have killed Deuce to know that you were hurt, it is good to know that you recieved the best care possible." The ebony fae replied. The truth was it would have broken her own heart had the male passed away, she had known him when he had been small and had always held him in very high esteem, he was her kin, at least to her he was. She was genuinely glad that the pack had found itself a good pair of healers, they were needed when one started a pack, there needed to be someone there to help whenever someone got injured, and with the life the wolves lead it was natural that someone would find themselves wounded now and again. After all hunting large prey as packs did often had an element of danger within it, also the packs had not always been completely harmonious, Soran knew that better than most, sometimes fights broke out and someone would inevitably get hurt. This of course saddened the ebony female, but it was a fact of life, sometimes there were those that wanted to harm you, perhaps her scars would not be so visible had she had a healer nearby, that was part of the reason that she had taught herself some of the medical abilities that she had, they were limited and learnt from books, but she was confident that she could have helped had she been required.
"I am pleased that the bear was alright, I would have hated for a misunderstanding to have ended in a death, even though this is not my home anymore, a death on the packlands would have hurt you all I am sure, especially over a mistake." The female replied as the male spoke about the bear, stretching her lithe legs out momentarily before crossing them properly, moving to sit upright, taking the weight off of her wrists. SHe turned her ebony head back to the male, listening to him as he spoke. She was surprised to hear that the pack now kept goats, so much had changed since she had left, of course she had known that there were some small goats running about the place, some wild creatures that the wolves had occasionally hunted for prey, but to actually be farming them was a step she had not been expecting.
"I see, so much has changed since I left, how long has the pack been keeping goats? Do you use them solely for meat? Or do you use their fur and milk as well, the humans used to you know, they used to keep a breed of goat and make coats and the like from the fur that they sheared from them." The lady said, stopping when she realised that she was sounding a little like a teacher, her knowledge from books spilling out of her mouth freely.
"Tell me Jazper, have you seen any of your family? Your sister?" She asked, suddenly wondering what had become of Dierdre, she had been present at her birth after all, she felt that she should ask after her, make sure that she was alright and happy somewhere, even if it was not within the lands.

The Knight began to laugh at Soran’s comment on Savina having pups. To her it may seem like a far off idea but for Jazper, who had been around to see Savina’s first litter born, she was very suited to the mothering role. It must be odd, he thought, to come back to a pack years later and see all the changes. Life moved normal for him, both Savina and himself having two litters each, but to Soran time must have just skipped a large period. “She’s a very good mother. She’d do anything for her kids. They’re all very nice wolves, four daughters and two sons." Between the Marino ladies the two had added a total of eleven new wolves into the world, a large and impressive number of pups for two females and one family. Savina, as a wolf and leader, had always impressed the coal male.

Her mate Kansas had a strange relationship with Jazper though. Jazper being overly competitive and Kansas being sensitive had made for a fragile and interesting friendship to start with but after the other had reviled that he had slept with Naniko and Lucifer everything had spun out of control. The Knight was thinking about talking to the pale male again though, too much time had passed dwelling on Lucifer it seemed.

Nodding about the bear he added solemnly, “We’ve already experienced the loss of a young man that Savina was caring for over the winter. A joiner turned out to be a murderer.” Not willing to reveal too much information as he felt it was a personal pack experience he stopped there. “We also almost lost Savina’s daughter Artemis. She fell from the roof and was unconscious but breathing. Didn’t wake up for a long time.” Stopping himself he quickly changed the subject, answering her questions.

“The pack has been keeping goats for about a year. Ever since Old Red broke down. I don’t personally care for goat; prefer to catch my meat fair and square. I think most members eat them.” He wasn’t too sure why they kept the goats in the first place, he admitted that having livestock helped in the cold winter months but he was a predator, a wolf who enjoyed the hunt. As far as his family was concerned he hadn’t seen many of them floating around but he tried his best, “Noah and Tal are around in the other packs up north I believe. Tal has a son now.” He had met the boy very briefly before and had run into him again just the other day. “I haven’t seen Dierdre or Deuce in some time, let alone Lucifer.” He assumed Soran believed Dierdre to be his sister given Deuce adopting him. In his brain he still wasn’t sure what Dierdre was to him as she had been the one to adopt him originally.

Smile Apologies I appear to have rambled! XD WC: 1354

The sable female could not deny that everything seemed odd now, so much had happened in the time that she had been gone, for her it had felt like only a moment since she had left, although it was true that so much had happened to her as well, having another litter, living within another pack, taking another mate; it just had not really occured to her that the pack lands here would have moved on so swiftly without her. It was strange to be back, seeing how much those wolves that she had seen as just tiny pups had grown, Jazper in particular had sprouted up so quickly, in her mind he would have still been the small bundle of black fur that she had known. How strange it was that she remembered Savina as being the young female who had confessed her inner turmoils to the sable female when she was now a mother of six and the leader of the pack. She was a fine choice though, that Soran could not deny, she must be a good and fair leader if Jazper was so willing to follow her. The lady nodded as she listened to all of the troubles that had happened, a murderer had been let into the pack? This saddened the female deeply, although she knew that this sometimes could happen, it would not do to be distrustful of everyone that came to the borders, usually the trust was rewarded with loyalty and hard work, sometimes though it could be thrown back in the faces of the leaders, as had happened in this case, as had happened when Conri had been leader, he himself had betrayed his pack, his family and his mate all in one go, this still broke the ebony mother's heart everytime she thought of it. The female's velvet ears flattened to her skull with sadness as she thought of how Savina must have felt, the loss of a child was a terrible thing to endure, Soran herself had lost little Maeve when she had been only minutes old, she could not imagine losing a child that she had grown to know and love, a child that had it's own personality and habits, that must have been dreadful for the ebony leader of the pack. Ears swivelled and perked up once more as the male continued, speaking of something which could have been a second loss, a child had fallen off the roof? How on earth had she gotten up there in the first place? The sable lady's brow furrowed as she looked up at the jet Lictor, unable to comprehend how the child would have managed to get up there in the first place, the poor child though, such a fall would have been a terrible thing, especially for Savina, it must have been awful for her to have to fear losing a second child.
"What on earth was the child doing on the roof? And yes I have heard of that happening, I have read it in human books, sometimes the body shuts down in order to heal itself properly, she is very lucky, she could have died, or had so much damage done to her that she would not have been able to speak or walk again. That would have been terrible." The female replied, once again realising that she sounded like a teacher, she had read so many books in her time that sometimes the knowledge simply poured from her mouth without her really thinking about it.

The subject was changed away from the occurances in the pack quickly, allowing the female to stop her ears drooping with sorrow for them, it was a dreadful thing to hear, she hated the idea that anyone in the pack that had once been her home would have been injured or killed, she still cared deeply for the wolves that lived here, the ones that she knew anyway and hated to think of them suffering through any sorrow. She watched the male as he spoke of the goats, nodding along with his words, although her brow furrowed with confusion, she did not understand why they needed to keep goats, she herself was very like Jazper, she liked to hunt, to catch her prey wild and roaming free, rather than kept in a pen and slaughtered. The female had always and would always be a huntress, that was simply the end of that. She was glad that Jazper felt the same way, at least there seemed to be one other wolf who held the same opinions as she did, wanting to catch his own food, enjoying the thrill of the chase, after all the food was far less lacking than it had been in the past, even in the more harsh winter months there seemed to be enough prey to get by, the female understood that sometimes food was scarce and perhaps then the pack would need the goats then, but she herself had not experienced any hardship within the 'Souls lands. She looked up at the male again, her gaze meeting his.
"That mirrors my own opinions I will say, I would much prefer the thrill of the chase, catching my prey fair and square, not penning it in and killing it that way." The jet female replied. Jazper then spoke of his brothers, she nodded, she knew what had happened to them, having stumbled across them, quite by chance on her travels around the lands, in fact Jazper was actually one of the last male Rhiannons she had seen, she smiled at him then as he spoke of them, glad that he knew where they were, her own family was so divided that it was nice to see siblings that still kept in touch with one another and spoke to one another.
"I know this, I have already seen Noah and Talesin in the lands, I acidentally stumbled across them whilst I was walking. They have caught me up on a few of the things that have happened in the lands, it seems that Tal has had a rather dramatic time recently, I was so sorry to hear of his losses. He knew all about me, it seems that Deuce has told him a lot about me. Noah was a little unsure of who I am, I think I frightened him I must confess, when I realised who he was I hugged him, I think that shocked him a little. You have fine brothers there Jaz, do you see them often?" The female replied, a chuckle escaping her lips as she spoke of Noah, remembering how he had been so flustered when she had pulled him into a hug, she could not help herself, she had just been so pleased to see him. The stuttering grey male had already managed to worm his way into her affections, she was quite fond of him.

The male then spoke of Deuce and Dierdre, Soran nodded slowly as she looked at him, but she could not quite hide the sorrow in her eyes when he spoke of the pale female that had once been her mate, the sable lady missed her daily, missed everything about her, the way she looked, the way she spoke, how she smelt, everything. It still made her heart ache to think that she was far away somewhere, without her, when she should be with Soran, with her arms wrapped tightly around her.
"That is a shame, it would have been good to have seen Dierdre again, though you know she was never keen on me? She could not accept that Deuce was with me rather than Thanos you know, I was hoping to see her to see if she had warmed to me anymore than she had before. How long has it been since you last saw her?" She asked, carefully skirting around mentioning Deuce's name, her heart ached too much when she thought of her, she did not think she would manage to get the word past her lips without the tugging of her heart strings becoming too much to bear.
