Friendly hunt XD

Fast forward to the field where the deer are, if anyone wants to join they can play as if their character met up with Isk at the beginning and they fell into formation stalking the deer through the woods.

Iskata had raised her head back and sent the call out to the others of the pack, she was going hunting and she'd invited them to come along to. She watched as their shadowy figures moved closer. Normally she would have paused to speak to them all and see who was going to join her on the hunt, but not tonight. Her mind was filled with a million emotions and thoughts, the hunt was what she needed to rid her mind of the constant buzz. They all knew how to hunt, some better than others, but she didn't care how good or bad they were, they could join her if they wanted, but now she was off into the growing night to find her prey.

She'd explained to Kansas just the night before about what had happened, she'd wished that he would have joined Ember and her in the glen, but she respected his choice and she knew he was in good hands with Naniko. She smiled to herself at knowing that her children shared the protection that a pack afforded them. She'd been so uneasy since the day she'd out the deeds her nephew had done and had stood before the scene of the crime herself, the blood coating her fur from trying to falsely comfort her nephew while she figured out just what had happened. Nothing was going to be easy for a while, that much she knew, the rest she kept quiet except for those who needed to know.

She shook her head as she stood in the shadows on the edge of the meadow, trying to clear her mind of all the uneasy that was settling on her shoulders. She'd taken care of her children and knew they were safe now but it just seemed that knowing what was looming in the future was dead weight. She raised her nose to the air to catch the scent of the deer she'd been tracking as she prepared for the hunt, one of the few times she knew she could lose herself from all the struggles of life. Instinct was great for that.

The wolfess with the moonlight pelt had tracked the small herd of deer to a small meadow surrounded on all sides by the woodlands. She could hear the trickling of the creek that ran through the area as she raised her head up, catching sight of the buck as he stood watch over his herd. He was a constant guardian, but her scent was being carried away from him, making it seem like his world was worry free for the moment. Only for the moment though.

She was very nervous about being along on the hunt with the others, but was trying to cope with it as best as she could. She breathed in her nose and out her mouth, panting a little as she ran alongside her mother. Iskata had recently joined Labrynth Glen, something that she was really happy about. Ember was growing, but there were a lot of things that she needed a mother for, still. Extra hunting experience would help.

She was almost an opposite of the alabastor wolf that padded beside her, appearance-wise, but that didn't matter to her. She knew who her mother was and didn't need to be assured of it. Ember sat down quietly, looking at the herd of deer. It'd be hard to get one of them to separate from the rest, wouldn't it? She looked to Iskata, awaiting some sort of an instruction or sign.

Iskata smiled as her own shadow paced along beside her, the middle aged daughter was keeping up fantastically as they moved thorugh the forest stalking their prey. She turned for a moment to gaze at her daughter as she raced through the trees towards the field where the deer stood. Iskata had recently spoken to her daughter about hunting and the different ways to stalk their prey, she regretted having only spoken of the smaller prey and not of the larger ones that were normally taken down in pack hunts. Nodding at her daughter as the slowed towards the meadow she paused in the shadows and waited for the others to join them.

She turned towards Ember and smiled wide, quietly her words floated on the air, "We don't try for the strongest, single out the lame or elderly ones.. they are always slower than the rest. Sometimes the young ones fall behind too.. but not as often.."She smiled and titled her head towards the deer, moving forward slowly into the open.

She was really hungry, her stomach aching as she walked along. Ember had been hunting by herself for a while, but she'd gotten a slow start...she wasn't too good at it yet. So a lot of the time she wasn't able to get enough to tide her over until the next time. This hunt, if successful, would mean a feast for the young girl.

She listened to the wisdom that her mother spoke, nodding in understanding. It would probably be really dangerous to go after a healthy one...it could kick them stronger. "That makes sense"

Iskata smiled down at her daughter as she watched the deer before them. She could see the other packmembers moving though the trees and she nodded down at her daughter before whispering. "You move left, stay in the shadows.. try and get around the herd.. I'll drive them towards you.. " her eyes scanned the herd as she made to picking the perfect prey. Nodding to herself she nudged her daughter and tilted her head to the side towards the lone male haning on the outskirts of the herd. "Looks like he may have been injured in a rutting match.." the male seemed to have a hard time putting a lot of weight on his foreleg and Iskata smiled to herself as she watched him, he would be the one.

Eyes twinkling as she gazed down at Ember she smiled and licked her lips. "I'll lead him into you, we'll lay a trap for him.." they had got lucky this time, a young buck was the target, injured by another in the rutting matches over the harlem of females before them. She hoped this would be a bit of a fight, but still easy enough for Ember to learn a few things. "Now!" she hissed at Ember as she began to move away from her daughter, stalking towards the herd slow and steady.

It was hard to concentrate with so much running through her head at once. What if she messed up in front of her mother? She'd feel so stupid. She hoped that all of her lessons from Tristan would pay off...that she could actually be of some kind of help, here. She really wanted that.

She crouched down in the grass, waiting for Iskata to do something. She'd never done this before, and wasn't sure how it was supposed to work. When the wall of deer came toward her she watched them go by, not getting up out of her hiding place until they were all nearly passed her. The weakest one would be at the very end, wouldn't it?

As soon as her daughter had made it farther ahead into the shadows Iskata leapt out of the brush and stalked towards the herd. Everytime one would lift their head up from their grazing she would stop, as still as a mouse, waiting for them to assume all was well in their world once more before moving on. She came closer and closer to them until she was mere yards away. Suddenly with one powerful bunch from her haunches she flew into action and dashed snarling at the heels of the herd. Thrown into action the deer fled right towards the waiting grasp of her young daughter.

Snapping at the heels of the weak and elder deer she moved gracefully across the meadow, following the movement of the deer as she slowly gained on the weak and injured buck. One powerful launch and she fould herself digging into the flesh of his back, trying to grasp her jaws deep into his neck. The young deer still had some spirit and tried to buck the silver and gold wolfess off of his back. She had tried to plung her fangs into his neck at the same time and instead of a dead match target her teeth sunk into his shoulder as she tried to hold fast to the male as she caught the air between them as suddenly she was flying off his back and through the air.

Rolling as she landed the wolfess let out a grunt as she sat there winded for a moment before shaking the dirt from her pelt and tested her legs as she sprinted after the herd, watching with excited eyes as the wounded male began to limp worse than before, wounded from the front and back now she knew they'd have him soon enough.
