wind and wuthering

Kansas left the manor for the short walk that would lead him to the Windmill. The pale wolf was a bright, almost sunny streak amid the emerald of the flora around him as he sped north on limber paws. He still marveled that Liliana and her family had come to Crimson Dreams, when he had just met her a few weeks ago. With all that had happened since she had arrived, Kansas worried about the woman who had given his son and him a precious experience together with the young colt. Regardless of whether their deal came through, he felt he owed Liliana and her family a visit. They must be suffering too.

He arrived at the windmill where the Utinas stayed and paused in the front, gathering a few breaths of air to soothe his lungs from his hasty jog. The naturally-nervous man was also preparing himself to speak with those he barely knew. He shook himself off and stepped up to the door. In this form he had no way of knocking, so he simply raised himself up on the door and scratched gently with his paws. Lowering to the small front stoop again, he sniffed anxiously at the door, reassuring himself that those he sought were inside.

WC: 314 OOC: Yeah she's a little timid XD

Liliana was staying in today, the pups were with her, and she was just finishing tidying up. The two were getting antsy and wanted to go out, but the mother knew better. If she didn't get things clean now than there would be more of a mess to clean up later. She was picky about how she kept things clean and for some reason this old human habitat tended to clutter far more easily than her hut.... Oh she missed it so, and wished she were there now. She'd be out tending the animals right now. Here.... well there were a few to tend but they all had owners who took very good care of them. So it was hard for Liliana to find decent work, and she hated it because she always needed something to do.

The knock came to a surprise for her and the puppies were barking, just to say there was someone there. Liliana rolled her eyes at them and moved around them, trying to shush them. But she knew barking was a contagious thing for pups and they would stop when she opened the door. She promptly did to see Kansas behind it. Her heart stopped and she looked down. He was probably one of the more disappointed in her refuge here, his pack mates had been taken, he was probably here to take her children back to the pack.

“H-hello Kansas...”

She said, she was basically the opposite of the confident female that had greeted him and Silvano only weeks ago. She couldn't help it, after the beating, she was afraid anything bad could happen and the worst of it would be her children taken from her. She didn't know Kansas' intentions, but why else would he come to the windmill? She had done nothing to warrant a visit, at least she didn't think so.

This post smells like poop. :/

He swiftly pulled away from the door at the sound of yipping puppies from inside. Their voices were like bells chiming, a sound that comforted him and caused the beginnings of a smile. He did not know how many puppies Liliana had, but he hoped they were all well and unaffected by the chaos that surrounded them.

The door swung open, revealing the hybrid woman shadowed by her children. His smile bloomed fully then, though in his pale eyes there was sorrow. Despite his attempt to appear otherwise, Kansas stood before her tired and worn, and he was not surprised to hear similar changes in the woman's unsteady voice.

The spectral wolf continued to grin meekly as he spoke, sure to keep his words measured and calm. Hey, Liliana. Can... uh, can I come in? I wanted to make sure you and your puppies were... okay... Of course they were not okay, but at least they were unharmed. He was not totally confident in his ability to actually help her, but he would try.

WC:222OOC:

Liliana coudn’t tell the white man’s intentions when he asked to be let in, but Liliana whispered to her little brood to calm down before turning to Kansas, how could she refuse him? He had been so nice, and he was also the mate of the leader here, who could turn him down?

“Yes of course, come in.”

She said opening the door wider so that Kansas had room to come in. The place was meekly decorated, they were used to sitting on the floor in their own huts, and Liliana was never much of one to decorate. It was ok though, Nayati didn’t mind a simple place to live; especially when both were masters and just having pups, it was better that way. Liliana just got used to the idea of it, and she turned to Kansas.

“Do you need anything? I have some food, or water.”

She said, she wanted to at laest be a good enough host to one of the wolves that was....HOPEFULLY... allowing her to stay. The pups were sitting on their bed watching the two, but now as quiet as could be. Now that they saw the man from the doorway they were either satisfied or felt it was a bad idea to continue their barking.
