10. Character Profile:
a. Appearance – Blind could easily be mistaken for a black wolf, when in truth her pelt is actually a warm, dark brown. Bearing a distinct resemblance to her mother, Blind wears her monochromatic coat proudly, the sun and moonlight providing the only (and very slight) variations in color. Her eyes make up for this, however, being multi-colored: the left is a bone-chilling blue, while the right is a shimmering, golden yellow. The cause for this is unknown - both of her parents had brown eyes, as did her grandparents. But, in addition to her unusually kind disposition, this makes Blind stand out in a crowd.

If you look close enough, you might notice that Blind's left hind leg is a little shorter than her right. Though it's a minor physical oddity, it makes vigorous activity quite difficult for her. Her mother tried to be patient with her and teach her to target the weakest and slowest prey, but it wasn't long before big animals such as elk became too arduous to chase, her aching hips forcing her to revert to hunting smaller creatures. However, this is exactly how Blind discovered her insatiable appetite for rabbit, and she hasn't eaten much else since.

And no, Blind is not actually blind. Asking her how many paws you’re holding up is an easy way to set her off.
b. Biography - Blind knows nothing of her birth and very little of what followed because her past was hidden by her mother Rhia's shame and resentment toward her father. Her parents were both loners - that she did know - having met and mated by the generosity of Fate. They had four puppies; all but Blind died at a young age. Unfortunately, this is all Blind's mother would tell her about her supposed siblings. The question of her father, Limp, was answered with a short "He was crazy," and nothing more. Wandering from land to land, silence soon drove a wedge between the pup and her mother.

As time went on, Blind's mother grew to care less and less about herself, and eventually starved to death. At first Blind thought it was her fault, that maybe she had taken too much food during each meal. But it soon became apparent that Rhia was purposefully eating less and less. The young wolf wandered the borders of Nova Scotia, growing stronger as a result of the daily test of being a nomad, and constantly wonders about who she is and where she came from in addition to what might have become of her father.
c. Personality - Blind is humble, strong, and nothing short of forgiving. Holding a grudge is not in her nature, as her developed sweet spirit has since warmed the chilling rebellion that once existed in her adolescent heart. Blind has learned to respect each creature and its role in nature, and she came to realize that there might be a purpose for the things that happened in the past. This formed the foundation for her belief in an all-knowing God; what else could explain her feeble existence? Her loneliness has slowly morphed into a strong sense of independence and self-confidence, coming to insist that everyone has a place and is important to the cycle of life.

Something unusual about this lovely creature, however, is her adamant feelings against finding a mate. The motherly instinct inside her is nothing but a faint flicker - she wouldn't know if she loved pups because she's never had experience with them. Her mother raised her to believe that all males are a waste of time and can't be trusted, which suits her just fine - Blind is very happy depending on herself and herself alone to survive and be happy. Besides, trying to impress a guy is sometimes harder than it's worth anyway!

Welcome to 'Souls!

Congratulations! You've been accepted into the craziest bunch of roleplayers on the vast Internet! We encourage you to keep checking out our information; you can find a wealth of it on the RP Guide. Don't feel pressured to read it all at once -- the guide is a huge resource and is meant to be used as a reference.

If You've Joined the Game As a...
  • ... Loner, do begin considering which of the packs you'd like to join. Survival as a Loner is less realistic -- wolves and other canines are generally social creatures, preferring to live in a pack structure!
  • ... IC pack joiner, you can now begin posting -- you may start your IC pack joining thread whenever you're ready. Make sure you check the pack information to see if the leadership requires anything extra from you!
  • ... OOC pack joiner, the leader still has to respond here before you can start roleplaying -- don't worry, though; if you're rejected from the pack you'll be titled as a Loner, and you're free to pursue other packs or the same one later.
Post-Joining Process
Mandatory:
  • Make an In Character post within five days. Post a thread request to get started, or consider starting or replying to an open thread.
  • Please let us know in the Absentee Thread if you plan to be absent for more than four days.
  • Keep reading! While there's only a minimum of three topics you have to read to join the game, we provide a wealth of information for a reason -- we expect players to read and reference this material often while they roleplay at 'Souls.
Preferred:
  • If you're leaving us, please try to let us know in the Player Updates forum. There is no penalty for leaving; you're free to re-join at any time later.
Still Need a Bit of Help?

Post any questions you may have in the Questions and Help forum. Check the FAQ first, though! The Mentors can assist you with writing, roleplaying, and understanding 'Souls concepts. Failing all else, contact a staff member.

If you need help getting adjusted to your pack, you should talk to your pack leader! They can help you to understand the pack's rank system and how to get a better rank, as well as direct you to plots, potential thread partners, and active members of the pack who may be interested in engaging you.
