Light above the ground

+349 - Eeer, for anyone ^^; He's being all nature loving and watching the river like a right oddball o.o One or two people, no more please :3

The darkness was strange, something he hadn't yet adjusted to despite having spent a fair amount of time within the underground network of tunnels and caves. All around him he saw those who were completely at ease within the dark chambers, but more often than not he found himself on edge and a fair bit uncomfortable; paranoid that a tunnel would collapse on him, bury him alive, that he'd fall down some unknown crack and break a leg. It wasn't that he was being pessimistic; that was jut his luck, for he attracted trouble and bad luck like a moth to light. Yet some good had come out of choosing to join this pack, Anathema; he'd seen one of his nephews within the territory and found himself put at ease by the fact the grey coloured boy seemed happy enough. Trudging through the dark passages, he slowly made his way out into the light, instantly raising a hand to shield his eye from the seemingly blinding sun.

Time passed and eventually his eye adjusted, now taking in the land that surrounded him; trees, dirt and fallen leaves were things he was both familiar and comfortable with. Feeling more at ease now, he headed out to explore the lands above the caves, in hope of finding somewhere he could build a home or den, for he could not bare to live underground. Being under the sun and victim to the weathers whims was more his style. After a few hours, the sun now at it's peak, he had reached deep into Musquodoboit Valley, now following along it's most notable river, his mind elsewhere as he simply padded upon the rocks and dirt alongside the water, his ears listening to the sound of the running water. The lands above the caverns were peaceful, quite and lush, much more to his liking. Ahead of him lay a series of larger rocks, the ideal place to sit and watch the flowing water. Approaching them, he reached out and brushed a hand across the rocks top, before easing himself down onto it's cool surface.

Hope you don't mind a Jackson! o:

Jackson understood the feeling of suffocation that could accompany being in the dark and closed in spaces of the caverns for too long of a time. Sure, as he grew older he learned to be more comfortable within their depths, becoming adept at navigating through the dark corridors. It had even become essential to him once he had been placed into his specialized rank tier. It took effort to maintain some of the fires in the furthest regions of the caves, but at least he could say he was bringing light to the caves. Made them a lot less dreary, in his opinion.

So when his tasks brought him out of the caverns, like they did today, he savored it. The Acidic boy set out from the caves earlier in the day with an ax in one hand and a length of rope looped across one shoulder and across his chest. He was in need of fresh wood to keep their stocks in the caverns nice and filled up. He intended to bundle up his findings with the rope to make it easier to lug them all back to the caves when he was done. It was a lot smarter than trying to carry them all in his arms as he had been doing all along.

The hybrid boy sought out one of the forested regions at the foot of the mountains and wound up in the familiar valley to the south. Despite having arrived in the wooded area some time ago, he’d yet to get started on the task he assigned himself for the day. He knew he should get to work, but it was just so nice out today. The Acidic came upon the river that ran central to this region and simply walked along the rocky path beside it for a while. He didn’t know how long he’d been thoughtlessly wandering when he spotted one of his packmates up head, just chilling out on one of the boulders. Hadn’t he been around at that pack meeting the day before? Hell, there had been a ton of people there, so it wasn’t out of the question. Jackson kept on his path towards the other, calling out as he neared him. “Hey, man! What’s up?”
