Yeah... I don't know how to delete teh linked account. I know how to unlink it, I think, but I don't know how to actually delete that account, because I know I'm probably not gonna use it for a while... I figure, when I'm bored out of my mind and one character isn't enough, then I'll make another account. But for now... Yeah.

Only an administrator can delete accounts, though we usually don't because we find it unnecessary. You don't have to play the character right away or anything. Feel free to let the account sit there until you're ready, etc. :3

 in that case, how do I change the display name/character name thing...?

The account name? If you want an account's name to be changed, you can submit a request to Maintenance. If the character has never been active, the account name can be changed to anything. If the character has been played at some point, it can only be changed to something still related to the character (adding or changing a surname, for example).
