Profile or three writing examples:

Appearance
Eye color: Phoenix's eyes are gold, the irises tinged by tiny strands of scarlet in the gold coloration that thicken along the outer edges to make them look almost like they are on fire. The rims of her eyelids are black, and almost look like eye-liner.

Coat: Deep black. She has streaks of fire-colored dye in a pattern behind her ears and at the tip of her tail, and while the dye doesn't wash out, the color has grown out at the roots, making it look faded. In bipedal form, her mane is short and generally spiky, shorter in back and framing her face in two black tusk-like spikes that she stiffens into shape by (when she can) rubbing a bit of tree sap and water into the strands of hair. While short is easy to deal with, Phoenix wants to grow it out and keep it in a braid. Currently she wears her bangs in a choppy side-swept veil across her eyes.

Build: She's relatively small, with the agile form of a runner or hunter. Her tail is about an inch or two longer than it normally should be, and though it's not that big of a difference it improves her balance greatly. Her coordination is very good, as are her reflexes, but she has trouble stopping when she's running fast, especially in her bipedal form. She's very good at staying quiet, but isn't very good when it comes to using strength; energy, however, can sometimes make up for her lack of bulk muscle, and she can generally get things done when she needs to.

Weapons: Phoenix carries around a short sword-like blade she found in what she assumes to be the ruins of a museum. The blade of the object is made of glass with a long core of what she's guessing is obsidian or onyx, or some other type of black stone. The hilt and handle are of the same material as the core, with tarnished silver wiring around the handle. Along with the strange blade, she has two small knives kept in a pair of leather wrist gauntlets, fitted enough that they don't easily fall off when she shifts to her Lupus form, though the knives are of no use to her in any form but the Optime form. In her old pack, she learned how to shape heated metal with the aid of a fire, though the resulting objects weren't particularly pretty and she's forgotten most of it. She wants to try it again, however, as she thinks it could come in handy.

Clothing: Nothing but her wrist gauntlets, for the most part, and a leather cuff about three and a half inches long that laces up at the base of her tail. Also a belt that crosses over her chest to carry the sword upside down across her lower back, if that counts as clothing... She has only to reach behind her where the handle is placed next to her tail and unclip the sheath securing it in with her thumb claw.

Modifications: Phoenix has several piercings in both ears. On one ear, near the tip, a little silver bar runs through a piercing on one side and continues through the other, horizontally spanning the width of the top of her ear. Along with that, a spiral with two loops winds through the outer edge at the base of the same ear. On the other, two studs glitter next to what was once a burn mark, tattooed over with a gold- and red-patterned feather that reaches from the outer edge of her ear and down her cheek slightly. On her thigh she had deliberately shaved the fur and branded herself for a short period of time, using the scar to tattoo herself with the word RECKLESS in somewhat messy but rather impressive Celtic lettering, and using thorny vines and barbed wire to fill in the rest of the scar where the fur wouldn't grow back.

Other: She has two red-dyed feathers woven into her mane C:

Strengths: Very agile, fast, quick-thinking. Weaknesses: Hot-headed, can't stop very well once already going fast, an impressive temper, not very social and her normal disposition is generally kind of rude even though she doesn't mean to be.

Personality

Phoenix definitely has some temper problems. She really hates it when people don't tell her straight up what's going on, and she'd rather people be brutally honest (like herself) than try to make everything seem not as messed up as it is. She's very sarcastic, when she speaks at all, and tends to make jokes out of almost everything. She's not very social, however, and would prefer not to speak to most others, even those that she knows well. She masks herself quite a lot, but if she trusts someone, they'll be able to see at least some of what she looks like behind said mask, but that doesn't happen often because she believes deception trumps loyalty almost every time and therefore avoids trusting whenever she can.

Bio

Because of her socially awkwardness, she was ignored in her old pack. Instead of being grateful, as she usually would have been, Phoenix was annoyed and, quite frankly, pretty pissed off. She saw the fact that she had been ignored incredibly disrespectful; if she wasn't liked, she would rather be told to her face than not told at all. Because of this, thoughts of revenge started taking over her mind, and the fights started when she was almost nine months. Someone would deliberately turn up their nose toward her, disgusted, and she would confront them. Things always got nasty at maybe the second word that left Phoenix's muzzle, and more often than not would escalate into physical blows. The pack was insignificant and disorganized, barely more than a few families jumbled together due to insecurity. Her father had left her mother when Phoenix was born, and her mother, though she raised her, was clearly disappointed by her offspring, making it quite easy for the young wolf to leave the pack when she was "kicked out." She might as well have exiled herself, but the higher authorities of the pack claimed the credit, even though she was already headed toward the territory borders when the official process of erasing her presence in the group took place. Since then, she has wandered, hoping to find a different pack to become a part of, knowing that if it didn't work again (which it likely wouldn't) she could always become a loner again, hopefully alone for the rest of her life.

Gonna go ahead and accept you into the game, though do note that Inferni only accepts canines that are at least 33% coyote. You will need to adjust your character's species or choose a different pack to join. ^^

Welcome to 'Souls!

Congratulations! You've been accepted into the craziest bunch of roleplayers on the vast Internet! We encourage you to keep checking out our information; you can find a wealth of it on the RP Guide. Don't feel pressured to read it all at once -- the guide is a huge resource and is meant to be used as a reference.

If You've Joined the Game As a...
  • ... Loner, do begin considering which of the packs you'd like to join. Survival as a Loner is less realistic -- wolves and other canines are generally social creatures, preferring to live in a pack structure!
  • ... IC pack joiner, you can now begin posting -- you may start your IC pack joining thread whenever you're ready. Make sure you check the pack information to see if the leadership requires anything extra from you!
  • ... OOC pack joiner, the leader still has to respond here before you can start roleplaying -- don't worry, though; if you're rejected from the pack you'll be titled as a Loner, and you're free to pursue other packs or the same one later.
Post-Joining Process
Mandatory:
  • Make an In Character post within five days. Post a thread request to get started, or consider starting or replying to an open thread.
  • Please let us know in the Absentee Thread if you plan to be absent for more than four days.
  • Keep reading! While there's only a minimum of three topics you have to read to join the game, we provide a wealth of information for a reason -- we expect players to read and reference this material often while they roleplay at 'Souls.
Preferred:
  • If you're leaving us, please try to let us know in the Player Updates forum. There is no penalty for leaving; you're free to re-join at any time later.
Still Need a Bit of Help?

Post any questions you may have in the Questions and Help forum. Check the FAQ first, though! The Mentors can assist you with writing, roleplaying, and understanding 'Souls concepts. Failing all else, contact a staff member.

If you need help getting adjusted to your pack, you should talk to your pack leader! They can help you to understand the pack's rank system and how to get a better rank, as well as direct you to plots, potential thread partners, and active members of the pack who may be interested in engaging you.
