A slight breeze blew through Dominicks already messed up hair. "So this is what America is like," he thought as he played very lightly with his dark blue scarf. It was made for him by his one and only love, Carissa Trovato. At the thought of her, he winced a bit, mourning for her yet again. He forced himself back to the present, shaking her from his mind. "I cant think of her right now." I need to find The lost daughter of the Trovato clan. Dominick reminded himself as he walked into the unfamiliar woods. With his stature, he had to duck to avoid hitting his head on the lower hanging branches and to avoid getting his one possession, the scarf that meant everything to him, snagged or torn.

Finally stopping to rest for a bit, Dominick leaned up against a tree, waiting for his brother, Trinket, to get a bit closer. The other dog was following behind at a distance, keeping on the right path via scent. He would continue once the other was given a few minutes to catch up a bit. For now, though it was a good time to rest.

A short moment later, Dominick was getting ready to walk again. A breeze suddenly brought a scent to him but not that of Trinket. Something else. With quick reflexes (surprisingly fluid for a guy of his size), he reached for his gauntlets just on the side of his belt, held there by a clip, and slipped them on, ready for anything. He remembered that he needed to use the element of surprise (again, not so easy with his size), so he 'hid' behind a tree for a second. After a moment, he realized the scent wasn't moving and decided it was time to advance on it.

Dominick moved towards the scent and noticed two more scents. He noticed, vaguely, something familiar about the first scent but he chalked it up to just a trick of the wind. Pushing it out of his mind, he crept up on it and when it came into view, he relized why there were three scents; right in front of him was a rather beautiful horse with an somewhat familiar coydog (a lucky guess based on the scent) with a ball of fur that looked like a raccoon in his lap. His starved stomach started to rumble painfully. He'd missed his last few hunting attempts since arriving and the hunger was starting to gnaw at him. That looks pretty tasty right now... I could over-power that white coyote and steal the raccoon for myself. He thought to himself and got ready to lunge.

Just before his muscles moved to pounce, he noticed the face of the white coy in front of him and the shock of realization of who it was forced a gasp from the 'hidden' man. No wonder that scent was familiar, he thought as he walked out of the bushes, scared it was just a trick of his mind.

"M-Matteo Trovato, è che voi?" he croaked in a shaken voice, showing both his happiness for finding the boy... and sceptical doubt.

Welcome to 'Souls!

Congratulations! You've been accepted into the craziest bunch of roleplayers on the vast Internet! We encourage you to keep checking out our information; you can find a wealth of it on the RP Guide. Don't feel pressured to read it all at once -- the guide is a huge resource and is meant to be used as a reference.

If You've Joined the Game As a...
  • ... Loner, do begin considering which of the packs you'd like to join. Survival as a Loner is less realistic -- wolves and other canines are generally social creatures, preferring to live in a pack structure!
  • ... IC pack joiner, you can now begin posting -- you may start your IC pack joining thread whenever you're ready. Make sure you check the pack information to see if the leadership requires anything extra from you!
  • ... OOC pack joiner, the leader still has to respond here before you can start roleplaying -- don't worry, though; if you're rejected from the pack you'll be titled as a Loner, and you're free to pursue other packs or the same one later.
Post-Joining Process
Mandatory:
  • Make an In Character post within five days. Post a thread request to get started, or consider starting or replying to an open thread.
  • Please let us know in the Absentee Thread if you plan to be absent for more than four days.
  • Keep reading! While there's only a minimum of three topics you have to read to join the game, we provide a wealth of information for a reason -- we expect players to read and reference this material often while they roleplay at 'Souls.
Preferred:
  • If you're leaving us, please try to let us know in the Player Updates forum. There is no penalty for leaving; you're free to re-join at any time later.
Still Need a Bit of Help?

Post any questions you may have in the Questions and Help forum. Check the FAQ first, though! The Mentors can assist you with writing, roleplaying, and understanding 'Souls concepts. Failing all else, contact a staff member.

If you need help getting adjusted to your pack, you should talk to your pack leader! They can help you to understand the pack's rank system and how to get a better rank, as well as direct you to plots, potential thread partners, and active members of the pack who may be interested in engaging you.
