AW, preferably if your character has met Ezra before. I miss my boy, I feel like I haven’t written a half-decent post with him in forever >____> If no one replies I’ll just make it read only. Big Grin
5+

She was finally, finally gone.

He could feel it in the way the house creaked, in the way he felt dead inside. Ezra had woken up recently and found all of Ever’s things gone, finally. She must have snuck into the house in the middle of the night and left. He hadn’t checked if Saphraine had been taken too, but he wouldn’t be surprised if he had. The secui couldn’t remember the last time Ever had slept next to him; she was starting to feel like a dream he couldn’t quite remember. Her beautiful, beautiful face in his mind’s eye was getting blurry. He couldn’t quite remember the mischievous grin she had when they played together.

Eli still didn’t know. He was growing up ever quicker, and the last time he had mentioned his mother was when he had met Liam. Ezra felt horrible lying to his own flesh and blood but he couldn’t tell him his mother was truly gone. Her scent had faded from the house long ago, though he still managed to get whiffs of her when he rummaged through his personal belongings. His scarf smelled like her. Ezra pulled it out of the closet and flung it across the room as hard as he could before the man finally let go of his guarded exterior and broke down. The most beautiful woman in the world was gone, and Ezra couldn’t do anything about it.

The immense loss of his love was starting to show on his exterior, too. His shedding coat was looking thinner than usual; he had been giving whatever food he had caught to his son. He barely ate, barely slept, and barely thought about anything. His heart had left his body the moment Arydia died. Eli was as joyous as ever, though, so his son was the only thing that kept him going these days. If Eli hadn’t survived, Ezra would have left this land long ago.

Eli was off on his own playing somewhere in the territory. Ezra finally trusted the pup to go off and venture on his own, now that he knew where the bungalow was. This was probably the only free time Ezra would have to himself for a while unless he would let Eli go out on his own more often. The secui curled up on his bed, tears slowly falling down his face. He didn’t know how to get over this. How does one ‘get over’ the loss of their other half? The pain in his chest stung worse than usual now that he was finally showing how he felt. His chest heaved with soreness and the man lay on his empty bed, staring at the doorway. His usually wound up mind was devoid of any thoughts other than loss.

He was trying his best not to grieve, but he couldn’t help it. Ezra, after what felt like forever, got off his bed and slinked outside. His fluffy tail wrapped around his body as he sat down in the sand, letting out the most mournful howl. Ever was gone and nothing else mattered anymore; he missed his moon more than he could ever articulate. He was truly alone now.

OOC hope you don't mind if I jump in

Terra bolted out of the hotel at the sound of a howl. It sounded like the world had fallen apart. Convinced a tragedy that no one could fix had occurred she rushed towards the source. Had a puppy died? Was there another war? The wolf could be dying, or it could be a fight to the death. Either way didn't matter to her. Her pack needed her, and Terra answered the call. Her feet padded over the sound, leaving almost no mark in her desperate flight. When the wolf came into view Terra slowed down, looking for the danger.

Gently she walked up. Terra didn't see anything immediately threatening, but he was in horrible shape. Terra was worried that the hybrid was dying from the way he looked. He was much too thin, even for someone struggling to find food. It looked more like a sickness, though she smelled none on him. Only the faint hint of death clung to him, for no apparent reason. What's wrong? Whining softly Terra nuzzled at the big guy, not caring if she knew him or not. She would help him.

Writing posts > Doing work. Also, excuse Ezra being in ass.

Ezra should have realized that his call would attract attention. He hadn’t wanted to interact with anyone, but without much time passing a vaguely familiar smell approached him. Ezra had kept his eyes to the sea, not really caring to meet the other creature’s gaze. But the creature nuzzled him, and he sharply turned his head towards the wolf, eyes narrowing. Having a female nuzzle him right after the love of his life left him wasn’t exactly something he wanted at the moment.

It was Terra, a wolf he had greeted at the borders when she was accepted as a member of the pack. Sighing, Ezra finally looked at her with an absolutely blank expression. He felt nothing. “Nothing, Terra,” he said quietly, looking back at the water. “Nothing you could fix, anyway,” The man vaguely wondered where his son was and if he should go look for him. The pup had been gone about an hour, and he couldn't figure out if Eli would end up getting lost or would find his way back home.

Listening gently Terra nodded. She knew about wounds that couldn't be helped. Broken bones, the death of a pup, a crippling injury. Terra was still young, so she didn't understand emotional pain. Raised in a pack where the emphasis was on survival deaths weren't mourned as they were here. Deaths were acknowledged, a tragic part of life. Hanging onto it was considered pointless though. Even the death of a pup, the worst kind there could be, only brought a couple days of mourning. Having pain caused by someone simply leaving was something completely foreign, a pain Terra didn't even know existed.

The blank look Ezra gave Terra shook her to the core though. It was something she'd only ever seen in those approaching death and absolute killers. She didn't believe the wolf was a killer, so death would be close. The pain will pass. It was all Terra could offer. Pain always passed. Crippled limbs might remain difficult to use and hurt occasionally, but the initial pain always faded. Standing Terra looked around. Ezra had said there was nothing she could do about the pain, but there was a way she could help. Terra wasn't a sharp hunter, but she should be able to grab something for the one who welcomed her.

For the moment Terra slipped away, stepping quickly back up the slope. There was a small cache nearby that she'd made. It only held a squirrel, but it would do if she couldn't get something bigger. Silently Terra waited, watching as an injured pig crossed the area. It would do. With a bit of luck Terra could manage to grab it. She pushed off in a rush. Luck was with her this time, and the pig was too stupid to run. A single blow killed it, allowing Terra to return with a fresh kill. Gently she dropped it at the major's feet. Eat.
