Dalgina laid in the heap with her brother and sisters. It was nice and warm in there, and very soft. The others were sleeping, but the small pup's mind had been entranced by a very pretty sight. Light filtered from beyond the board that her mommy and daddy often passed through. She had been taken out a couple of times, but not nearly enough to satisfy her curiosity. Looking at the light Dalgina decided that it would be okay to go and play with it, just this once. After all, there wasn't anything particularly dangerous out there.

Climbing out from the nest Dalgina paused as her siblings moved around, snuggling into the warm space she'd left behind. Satisfied that no one had been disturbed the black puppy continued forward. She reached the board and stretched up, as high as she could, trying to reach the light that was flickering on just the other side. Dalgina just wasn't tall enough though, and she ended up falling down, landing on her back. Not one to give up Dalgina squirmed around, flipping back over. That hadn't worked. Looking around the room Dalgina tried to find something she could use to climb over the board. A couple chewed stuffies laid in a corner. Dalgina had often played with them with her siblings, and had rather enjoyed them. Now they would be tools in her escape.

Firmly she grabbed the stuffy by the ear and dragged it over to lie beside the board. Dalgina ran over and grabbed the next stuffy, pushing it on top of the first. Now that she could reach the top of the board Dalgina climbed onto the stuffies, only to feel them sink into her weight. That was surprising. Instead of having the extra height that would boost her over, Dalgina had only gained a couple inches. Still, that was better than before. Pushing wildly Dalgina managed to hook herself on the top of the board. For a moment she hung there precariously before tipping over, smacking her nose on the other side. The pup let out a whine of pain before the light caught her attention once more. Pleased to have finally reached her goal Dalgina trotted over.

Sitting in the sunlight Dalgina looked up. It felt so nice, having it fall over her. Tilting her head she could see dust floating through the air, ever so prettily. She reached out her nose to touch it, but it always got too difficult to see when she moved closer. Giggling quietly Dalgina sat and watched.

herp derp here be a jace for you

She had only left them alone for a few minutes, a quick trip to the kitchen to find herself some food and a drink. Nothing too long really. Temo, the poor guy was sleeping on the sofa with a hand draped over his eyes to clock out the sun coming in through the windows. She smiled and ruffled his hair as she sauntered past, he mumbled something and licked her paw as it moved away before settling down back into his dreams. THe multicolored female ate her snack speedily, knowing from experience that someone was bound to come to some trouble once she had left them alone, it seemed they all had the personality quirk of wanting to run her in circles. Apart from little Honrin of course he was the oddball of the litter, the quiet one that never yelped or cried like his sisters.

Speaking of which a small yelp pulled her ears forwards. Her interest grew as did her concern, and the woman was fast to return herself to her room. Upon entering however she found the room occupied with the tiny black pup that sat in the sunlight and was attempting to bump dust motes with her nose. Smiling softly to herself Jace lowered herself to the ground and sat behind the pup with her grey scale legs sticking out at either side of her.

"Dalginnaaa.." She said in a soft singsong voice "She is mama's baby."

Dalgina spun around as her name was called. Momma! She flung herself forwards, racing for her mommy. She threw herself at her, desperately trying to jump up and lick her face. For a few moments she stood there, wriggling happily, before turning around and trotting back to the spot of sunshine she'd discovered. Look! It's pretty! Dalgina was rather proud of her discovery, and even prouder that she'd managed to reach it. Dalgina had spotted lots of pretty things beyond the room that her mommy kept her in, but this was the first time she'd ever managed to reach one. It was her proudest moment.

Sticking out her tongue Dalgina decided that she'd have better success catching the pretty dust with her tongue. After all, her tongue was wet and her nose was not. Maybe that would be enough of a difference for success. Again she strained forward, but Dalgina still couldn't see if she'd caught anything. She didn't feel anything different on her tongue. She whined with frustration, unable to figure out what she was doing wrong. Giving up she walked back to her mommy, snuggling against the gray fur. The dust won't let me catch it.

Sorry this took so long. I'm assuming that you have Dalgina as the same size/age she would be in the actualy forum in which case you speech wouldn't be as good as that. Guide This might help you get a better grasp of how she would speak at certain ages.

A lovely smile crossed the face of the hybrid with the blackened muzzle as her third oldest child flung herself towards her. Jace laughed as Dalgina attempted to lick her face and lowered herself down so she could indeed do that, sending her own loving licks towards the black girl child as she wriggled and squirmed about in the manner than children did. She smiled letting her pride show through as her child returned herself to the patch of sunlight she had found herself.

"Yes it is. Not as pretty as you though dear." She pulled herself up to her knees and then rested back on them content to watch the child play. In others she would have considered the behavior moronic and unneeded but for some reason she could not think the same of her child, everything she did was pretty much perfect in Jace's eyes. A delighted laugh as Dalgina attempted to catch the dust that floated around, this house was old and as such it had a lot of dust. She gave her daughter a reassuring pat on the head, combing fingers through her midnight fur,

"I could think so. It is much too small to catch. And probably doesn't taste very nice." Here she pulled a face and stuck her tongue out. She didn't expect her to understand everything she said, she was still just a baby really but Jace's face might give away her meaning.

Dalgina giggled as her Mahn patted her fur. She enjoyed the gentle touch, and loved spending time with her Mahn. It was nice without her other siblings around to steal attention, allowing Dalgina to have Mahn all to herself for a little while. Her fur began to be groomed, calming Dalgina. Her eyes half lidded she listened to her mahn's voice, enjoying the soothing nature.

No, not taste nice. Has no taste! Dalgina lazily stretched out a paw, drawing it through the dust that had settled a short distance away. Pleased that it had made a mark Dalgina proceed to make a kind of squiggle, though it wasn't very good. Mahn, will you sing? Dalgina loved listening to her mahn sing, the soft voice rising and falling as the words painted beautiful pictures in her mind.

Again she laughed as Dalgina giggled, happy that her child was happy. For a mother it was pretty much the best thing you could receive, for your child to be happy whilst within your own company was a joy and a gift. The scars on her face stretched and distorted as she smiled widely, showing off a flash of teeth this time as well as her child proclaimed that she was wrong and that dust had no taste.. well she was right there as dust didn't taste of much really. She continued her combing of the black princess' soft puppy fur.

Her daughter was quite the artists always drawing things into the dirt and dust with her paws and nose, it made cleaning her a hell of a job after an entire day of this and so Dalgina had been delegated to a routine of cleaning intended to keep her mostly clean at all times so that muck didn't built up. Mahn. The word sent both feelings of contentedness through her and those of sorrow, her own Mahn was lost, taken by the cruel word and fates. Jace believed she would have to wait for her own death to see her beloved mother again, the turned her blackened muzzle down to Dagina,

"What would you like me to sing for you my princess?" Her grey scaled hands were kept busy all through out her speaking, combing through the dusty fur of her little one tenderly.

Feeling sleepy after her excursion the gentle grooming lead to Dalgina letting out a tiny yawn. She snuggled in closer to the warmth, complete trust that the world was safe. She'd never had anything worse than a bump or a scratch, easily soothed away by a
gjiska
's touch. In her mind her
gjiskala
were invincible, solving everything she came across.

Sing about Dalgina and Honrin. It was an old song from the arctic, telling about the sun and moon gods and the power that they held in the seasons. Dalgina didn't understand all the words, but it was very beautiful, and
Mahn
always told the story to them afterwards. Even if she didn't understand everything Dalgina was learning very quickly, filling her vocabulary with arctic words.

Of course she would wish for her mother to sing that for her, it was her favorite song of all time so far for it contained herself and her brother's namesakes. Her adorable yawn brought out a barely noticeable tail wag from Jace, she might not even be awake to hear the end of the story. The woman began to sing to her daughter in a soft lilting voice, filled with the accents and tones of the arctic language, rising and falling with its own unique beat. The song she sang was entirely in her own language, Dalgina could understand some of it but not all, it was the same with English, her second language. The song told of gods and of heros and of the sun and the moon, winter and of summer, working together in harmony to keep the world living.

The song fell to an end and the woman set about telling the story that went with the song. Ideally the story should be recited whilst the song was sung gently in the background but Jace was alone and could not play both parts simultaneously. She could well remember this story beign recited next to an open fire whilst the wind whistled fiercely and the cold was all around, wrapped up in her polar bear fur coat as she watched with widened wondered eyes as the elders danced and sang their memory's worth of songs and stories, this one was one of her favorites and one of the reason's behind her naming her son and daughter after the two gods,

"In the years long time ago, there was only ice and snow. There was only wind and cold. Never heat or sun only the moon and winter. The coldest of times were looked after by the All Goddess, Artoi. She was the master of the realm, the one to rule all overs save for one. The Great Mother was and still is the only one above Artoi. Artoi oversaw the snow that fell and the ice that formed, she was proud of her beauty, glad of the creations she made and the peace she kept. The wolves that grew and lived there were also under her control, when her winter was too harsh she gave them coats of ivory white with a thickness unrivaled by any other to keep them warm, she gave them an incredible will to survive and to always make themselves better, always testing themselves. And by this they grew strong and they grew mighty. With the strength of their jaws and the bite of their claws they brought down great deer with antlers twice the size of any wolf.

But soon the pups began to freeze and the old got sick in their souls and fresh faced young hunters fell more than was acceptable to the kick of a hoof and gore of an antler. The winter that they so loved was making them weak and slowly tearing the life from them. So they gathered together, all of them, every last one. Every child and adult gathered together at the edge of the great ice cave where it was rumored that Artoi lived. And together they cried out in their pain and sorrow giving birth to the first ever ice howl, the howl that all snow wolves know from the moment they take their first breath. They cried and cried out this great new song until finally the she god answered their call and walked among her people. 'What is wrong' she asked 'why do you cry so sadly' In their haste to tell Artoi their plight they all spoke at once with such a clamor that she could not understand what any of them were saying.

This upset the goddess and she had no idea what to do. Never before had her people come to her in this way. So she called out to her own goddess, the Great Mother who looks after us all. There was a great rumbling noise and the snow wolves fell silent as the very earth shook. Then a voice came from the mountains, from the snow and ice, from the water and from the sky, the Great Mother spoke and everything, be it animal, plant or rock, listened. 'What you must do Artoi is create balance, harmony. Without earth there cannot be sky, without sound there cannot be silence. Without winter there cannot be summer' The snow wolves were confused for they had never heard of this summer before, and the sun and moon did not exist only a vast blackness.

The Great Mother rumbled again and said 'One wolf cannot control both winter and summer, so from you two pups shall come, one of black and one of white, these shall be the rulers of summer and winter and you shall rule them both making sure that their balance does not slip' Artoi was confused by this as well for she had no mate which to give her pups to birth into the world. There was a flash of lightning and a roll of thunder and there where there had been no wolf before now stood a magnificent black male with gleaming brown eyes and sharp ivory fangs. His name was Talgor and he was to be the mate of Artoi. The Great Mother returned to her wakeful sleep and the snow wolves went back to their homes.

Artoi and Talgor became mates and after almost no time at all two pups were born to the pair. But these pups were not normal children, as soon as they were born they began to grow and grow until they were fully adults in almost ten seconds. A black female with brown eyes, she was called Dalgina and a white male with amber eyes, he was named Honrin. Dalgina looked like her father while Honrin took after his mother. As soon as they were fully grown the two began to plot together and when they were done they raised their head to the sky and howled a new howl, the summoning howl. The wolves again gathered for they did not know this new howl, the puppies that were left copied this new howl as puppies do and were surprised to find that they could too make this howl.

Artoi once again came down with her mate, Talgor from their den and the Great Mother awakened from her slumber to listen in. What the two, brother and sister came up with was amazing. Honrin would become the sun and shine down upon the world and bring the summer when it was time and Dalgina would become the moon and call with her the winter of snow and ice. With that the two of them leapt up into the sky to become the sun and the moon, transforming their bodies as they wished, since they were gods they could do so. With the creating of winter and summer the wolves grew strong again now that they had the time of summer to rest and recover from the long harsh winter. The brother and sister were sad however for they would only meet and two times in the year when winter switched to summer and then when summer switched to winter but they were willing to sacrifice this to help their mother's poeple and their people as well.

Artoi took up her new role as master of the balance making sure that neither Honrin nor Dalgina lacked in their duties and made the days too short or the nights too long, the seasons not come at the right time and the Great Mother was happy that her subjects had manged to figure out how to help their people prosper."

As she told the story Jace seemed to come alive with the tale she told.

Nuzzling in Dalgina listened to the song, mumbling some of the lines. Parts of it were muffed, lost in the transition between english and arctic. She loved her mahn's voice, sweet and clear as anything she'd ever heard. Her voice wasn't as deep and rich as her mahn's, but Dalgina promised herself to someday be able to sing with a voice that would ring inside her mahn's heart. It wasn't a very big promise, but it meant a lot to the little pup who loved beauty.

Her favorite part came afterwards, the story unfolding in her mind. She could see exactly what the world was like back then, thick and white. It was always night, the time when Dalgina would always be hussled back up to bed. She thought that a bit unfair, considering that she was supposed to be the goddess of the moon. There was no reason why she couldn't stay out and enjoy it's beauty, glistening over the silent snow. Instead her mind flew over the story, moving as the goddess, playing with her brother Honrin. By the end of it Dalgina had drifted off into a deep, peaceful sleep, images of the two arctic gods dancing in her head.

In the darkness voices awoke the male child of Jace and Temo. Besides him his other two sisters stirred fitfully from his movements. He shushed them gently and slowly moved away from them. His paws made no sound against the floor, he was silent in his movements as he was in his character and personality. He could hear his mother talking in a soft tone to the one missing sibling. Then her loved singing voice floated towards him and he smiled, settling down out of view behind the piece of wood, this was their time to spend together, he wouldn't take their mother's attention away from her.

He listened to her song, entranced by the musical tone of her voice and the lyrics that passed her lips. He mouthed along to the song silently, a ghost in the night. Then the story that came after it, in his mind he could see it all as she described it, the long endless winter and the thick coated white wolves that relied on each other to survive. He could see the shapes of the two formed gods as they grew from their birth almost immediately and became full sized adults. He had a soft spot for stories and fantastical tales. Although the one that Jace was telling now, he believed in completely and truly. The culture of his mother was already a deep rooted thing that was close to his heart.

Jace carefully picked up her sleeping daughter within her arms. The girl barely even stirred, her adventures for the day had tired her out thoroughly. She stepped over the board that was supposed to be keeping them in and the sound of claws scrabbling met her ears. Honrin stumbled back out of the way of her foot and the female halted her progress to make sure she didn't stand upon her young son. He didn't speak at all, simply wagged his tail and Jace returned the soft beat of tan. She pulled her other leg over the board and Honrin walked at her side back towards the others, Pandora opening her amber eye lazily before rolling onto her back as Jace settled Dalgina back down amongst them.

Honrin made his way to besides Pandora and the girl turned into him with a contented sigh, drifting back off into her sleep. Jace herself shifted forms to her lupus and curled her body around them all as best she could with their ever increasing size, a soft murr coming from her may as her tail swayed back and forth lightly. The female settled into her slumber quietly, sure in the knowledge that her children were as safe as could be inside this room.
