He'd come to the Festival somewhat late, having only heard of it in passing and needing to track it down on his own, but when he finally found the place he felt his chest nearly seize with his joy. It truly was a festival, with the large, somewhat ornate tents he'd seen some places before back in Europe, and the general revelry in the air. He stored Breixo in the corral with most of the other horses, leaving most of his bags along with the stallion, and wandered into the marketplace, carrying only what he had to trade. There was little space to set up, though, so he made his way instead to the large tent where most people seemed to be coming and going from, peering in curiously.

There were many people here, Luperci and not, and he felt his heart swelling with something he couldn't quite name as he saw the merchants. They weren't gypsy, at least not obviously so, but it still did him good to see that people here did some of the things he was used to. Making his way into the tent, he quietly dodged everyone, and found an unoccupied chair. He didn't know what it was for, as there didn't seem to be a whole lot of them here, but he took it anyway and moved off into the shadows of the tent, setting the chair and his bag down. He also had with him his lute, as he'd been hoping there might be some sort of musical competition, but as he'd come across nothing of the sort--thus far--he simply set one foot up on the chair, tuned his instrument, and began playing softly.

Few would notice the quiet music in the room, as he played merely for himself for now, but as the evening went on he'd most likely get some sort of alcohol into his system--he had a flask in his back pocket, actually--and then, well; joy such as what he felt simply couldn't be contained.

This was just the sort of encouragement he'd needed to convince him to settle down in this area.

She's in heat now

Terra woke up that morning feeling good. Really good. Curled up in her mattress Terra languidly stretched before stepping out. Humming softly to herself she looked around. Her room was rather barren, but she could adapt. First thing was to shift to optime. Her bones rotated smoothly, and she shook out her long hair. Walking down the stairs Terra opened the door to where Strel worked. She snatched a bright piece of yellow fabric and wrapped it around her neck as a kind of silken scarf. Pleased with herself she stood in the room for a moment, grooming herself. Her long hair was untangled, and she made certain that she was clean and looking her best. She didn't know why yet, but something had changed, something good. And there was something she needed as well, something she couldn't get unless she looked her best.

Her feet danced lightly down the stairs before she exited, heading out across the territory. Subconsciously she found herself searching, looking for something. Not sure what it was, Terra heaved a sigh of disappointment as she saw no one around. Terra's mood immediately brightened though as she remembered the festival, and how many canines had been there. Surely, if she was going to find what she was looking for, there was the best place to start. It had plenty of things Terra had never seen before, and one of them was bound to be what she needed. She felt the need to rush, but didn't want to run. Remembering seeing others riding the horses, Terra decided that was what she'd do. Luckily the mount she'd chosen recognized her wildness, and easily complied to her commands. She clung on tightly as the horse galloped, bringing her to the festival.

Not bothering to tie the horse up Terra strolled in. Some of the males turned and watched her. Pleased by the attention Terra winked back, fully confident. Before, there had been confusion and chaos, with too much information to process. Today, she was a coyote with a goal, and nothing would get in the way. Her nose seemed to know what to look for, and soon enough she came across a dark tent. Curious to what had drawn her here Terra pulled back the flap and looked inside. It was the gypsy. A grin broke out on her face. Hello stranger. Long time no see. Her body swayed slightly to music only she could hear as she took a seat across from him.

Drakien wasn't alone in his corner of the hosting tent for very long, as soon a familiar--and yet different--scent soon reached his nostrils. He lifted his head, trying to pinpoint what it was, exactly, but his thoughts had gone somewhat fuzzy, and he had to turn his focus back to the music before he could think too much on it. When the scent got stronger, and the young coyote from all those nights ago stepped into view, he offered her a lazy smile, strumming a few more notes before he had to pause and sit down.

"It has been," He agreed, and set his lute aside, pulling the shining silver flask out of his back pocket and taking a sip. The feeling of being struck by lightning hit him hard, and he had to shake his head for a moment before he peered curiously at her. He wasn't sure if offering her Moonshine was something he should do, so he simply leaned forward so that his elbows rested on his knees and the flask dangled from his fingers, there for her to take if she wanted it.

"You have changed over that time, no?" He paused, taking in her neatly groomed, if somewhat wind-tossed hair and the beautiful yellow scarf tied around her neck. He himself was wearing only one of the new shirts he'd scavenged from Halifax, a deep burgundy one, and his burlap pants, his colorful bandana resting over his head and tying his hair back and his ears down. "You look very pretty." Except she was somewhat more than pretty; she had that air of confidence about her that spoke of some new knowledge, and he settled back in his chair, tilting his head curiously as he tried to figure it out.

He didn't know, or particularly care, why she smelled and looked so beautiful right then; he'd come across women in heat in the caravan before, but he'd never experienced the effects like this, as he himself was only just entering his prime back then. Now, though; now, the scent was heavenly, and he felt perhaps that he should attempt to do something for her. What, he wasn't quite sure.

Terra grinned at the wolf's reaction. He looked puzzled, struck by something. Whatever had changed, Terra was definitely enjoying this. If it had been in her she'd purr with contentment. The flask that he'd drunk from dangled from his fingers, there for her to seize if she so wished. She wasn't thirsty though. It was something else she wanted, something different she needed. If only she knew what it was, the world would make more sense. Shaking her head briefly she smiled as he talked about change. Yes, I've changed. I've grown again, and learned a more...enchanting secret.

She was unsure if she was talking about the change that held her in it's grasp, or the puzzles and code Terra had gathered from their brief encounter. Either way she felt light as air, like everything was possible, like she could ask for whatever she wanted and receive it. Too bad she didn't know what it was she wanted. Terra practically glowed as the gypsy called her pretty. Tossing her head she leaned back. Merely pretty, my friend? I was under the impression I was more than that. She winked playfully at him, showing her teasing nature once more.

She agreed she had changed, learned some enchanting secret, though what she spoke of he didn't quite know. Perhaps whatever it was had given her this confidence, and he smiled warmly again and set the flask aside when it became apparent she wouldn't take it, his own mouth watering ever so slightly with what might have been nerves. He'd never had someone look at him like that, and he was looking right back at her, and there was some sort of chemistry there. He could feel it.

Lifting his lute again to have something to do with his hands, he grinned wolfish-ly at her as teased him, and stretched a leg out to nudge her knee playfully with his toes. "Fishing now, are we, o frumoasă?" He teased back, and then plucked a few strings and hummed deeply in the back of his throat.

"What would you have me say, then?" He continued, and glanced up with amber eyes shining in the firelight, a slightly devious expression on his face. "Perhaps that you shine brighter than the stars on this night? Glow more beautifully than the moon before she wanes?" He paused, giving himself a moment to come up with more and to give her a chance to react. It was fun, coming up with ways to express how beautiful he found her without out-right saying it. After a moment he continued, "Your voice is softer than the wing and brighter than the fire, and your eyes make the grass look brown." Combined with the light strumming of his fingers against the lute, he could have been serenading her, though the words didn't rhyme and weren't supposed to. If she wanted him to, though, well; he could only give it his best shot.

Terra grinned as he nudged her, sending tingles through her body. That was part of what she wanted, that electrifying touch. She didn't understand why, but she wanted more of that. Her eyes flashed, bright as the stars as she gazed at him. No, just thinking you could do much better. After all, you're coated night yourself. In the dimness of the tent his silver fur gleamed, catching what little light filtered in. It was beautiful to her eyes, making her want to reach out and touch him. Reserving herself Terra kept back. Something had most definitely changed, and the easy way she'd touched him before was gone.

The gypsy spoke, his words flowing like poetry. Her eyes closed, partly swaying as the lute played in the background. She ducked her head, embarrassed to be called so many things, yet drank it in, let it feed the feeling swallowing her whole. His words about making the grass green had her chuckle slightly, though Terra knew he spoke in earnest. Standing up she stepped over to the lute. Her hands ran across it, bringing a gentle strum as her hands went down, resting for a moment on his hand before pulling away. Your music, it's beautiful. Terra turned, staring into his eyes. It wasn't just his music that drew her here, though she didn't have the words to express it, just her softly wagging tail and happy looks.

Drakien chuckled, feeling a little tingle in his feet from where he'd touched her, himself. It was like a shock had passed through them, something that surprised and invigorated him. At being compared to the night, he let out another laugh, bouncing his leg to the music of his lute. He didn't particularly think of himself as dark, as his silver and red fur belied more the desert sun, or the high summers of Russia; but his eyes sparkled and he felt something warm coiling in his stomach at their interaction.

She seemed embarrassed and pleased at the same time, and he might have continued, had she not risen, her hands coming to rest on the instrument beneath his fingers. He paused, the last lingering notes echoing between them before her hands interrupted their vibrations. They brushed briefly over his own, and he bent his head, watching her from the corner of his eye and saying nothing for the moment. His expression was nearly unreadable, perhaps because he himself was uncertain what he was expressing, before he smiled gently and began plucking a few more notes. "Yes, music has always been my...passion." He decided, glad that he'd somewhat mastered the language now that they'd finally met again. He quieted for a moment before meeting her gaze with a burning look of his own, and added carefully, "That night, we made beautiful music together."

For the moment the air was silent, the playing of the lute stopped. Terra didn't find herself caring though, a rush running through her body. This was so new, so fresh, so alive. Her body burned giddily, flooding her with emotions that she didn't understand. Again the gypsy began to pluck at the lute, the notes gently drifting through the air. She listened as he played, only to pout as he declared it his passion. Terra didn't like that at all. Normally she was full of admiration for canines so dedicated, enjoying what they made and playing games. This sparked a fury in her though, and Terra wanted to rip the lute away, bring his full attention to her.

His eyes lifted to meet hers though, burning with a passion that almost matched her own. Her tail wagged, pleased that his attention had returned to her again. She craved that attention, needed it, and something more. The more part was still a mystery, but for now she relaxed and enjoyed his company. Terra remembered their night together vividly, the wild dancing and the soft music. She remembered the tale she shared, and how they sang together. Terra remembered his loneliness as well, and the comfort of his playing as she drifted to sleep, only to part in the morning without a word spoken.

We certainly did. Looking back Terra wondered if something different should have happened. The burning told her it was true, but she didn't know what it should have been. It had bonded them together though, as their rough mismatched voices flowed into something more. I wish that night had lasted longer. Her ears were fully alert, tail wagging lazily. Her eyes begged for him to give her what she wanted, even as she didn't know what it was, just that it was the next part of the long night.

Whereas before she'd seemed to admire his music, now it looked as though she were...jealous, and he couldn't help but pause again, holding his hand over the strings to stop their notes abruptly. After a moment, something seemed to click in his brain, some part of him understood what was going on, and he smiled at her, setting the instrument aside and rising. He remembered that night well, and how he'd stayed in that area in the hopes that she lived nearby--but she hadn't returned. She was here now, though, and he intended to make the most of this night.

He couldn't help but smile teasingly at her wish, and moved closer almost thoughtlessly to wrap an arm around her shoulders. "You cannot blame me for that! You are the one who fell asleep." He reminded her with a little chuckle, and then perked his ears to hear if there was anything interesting going on around the fair. He couldn't hear anything, but then, this one tent was rather crowded and noisy, so he slid his arm away from her and then offered it to her instead, in a way more gentlemanly than he had before. "But let us make the most of tonight," He suggested, looking about slyly, "And go find something to occupy ourselves." Perhaps there would be the chance to sing again, he mused, or dancing; he rather enjoyed dancing.

But, as it was his first evening in the fair, he had no idea what there was to do, so he would count on her to lead the way--she'd come prepared, after all, or at least looking beautiful enough to attract attention, so surely she must have found it before-hand.

A shiver of excitement ran through her body at his touch. Yes, this was what she wanted. His touch, and his attention, his voice rumbling sweetly to her. Terra smiled up at him. I couldn't resist. You made such a perfect spot to rest on. Terra laughed lightly, though her mind paused on her words for a moment, feeling that there was more meaning to it than just what she said. She moved closer to him, and looked around just like he did, searching for something they could do together. Outside she could hear someone playing the guitar, and the laughter of canines gone too far.

This was their moment though, and Terra wouldn't let it be ruined. There's dancing here, though not as good as your music. It's slower, softer. The heat and passion of the music she'd danced to still rang in Terra's veins as they stepped outside of the tent. The crowds pressed around them, and the primal fear it had invoked at first returned for a moment, her ears flattening. The coywolf quickly regained her senses though, and lead them through to a clearing. There two members of her pack stood, guiding people through a dance that people did together. Farther out, just past that, a fire burned, a more wild dancing happening there. She turned, her bright eyes shining, waiting for the gypsy's choice.

His smile became somewhat flirtatious, and he glanced down at her from the corner of his eye, raising his brow with his eyes glittering wickedly. "Far be it for me to deny you, my lady." He chuckled, and pulled her closer as he followed her out of the tent. This flirtatious limbo they were captured in was somewhat dazzling, if he were truthful, and he felt a smile pulling at his maw. It faded some at her reaction to the crowds at the festival, but he merely shifted closer to her, his arm quite captured in hers but his other moving across his body to attempt to soothe her in some way. There was no need to be frightened at festivals, though he could imagine she might be a bit overwhelmed. Still, he didn't want to see her scared.

He didn't know why, but he didn't.

She lead him to an open field, where couples were dancing a slow step he recognized. Beyond that, there was wilder dancing, the kind he was used to--the kind that got a bottle in your hand and ended with you waking in the morning wondering what you'd missed and why your fur was singed. He enjoyed that sort of revelry, but it didn't seem right for this moment here with the coyote on his arm, and he carefully guided them toward the couple's dance, shifting his grip on her and studying one of the other couples before turning back to her. "I am not opposed to softer music, at times." He joked, and took a moment to roll up his sleeves before holding his arms out to her, his smile gentle. "Dance with me, prinţesă?"

Terra whined with pleasure as his hands passed over her body. That felt good, very good indeed. Terra felt aware of every part of him as they stood together, his body touching hers. Terra let him guide her over to the slower dancing, couples swaying together in time. The pack members were occasionally giving instructions to help people dance properly, explaining how it worked. Behind them a violin and pipe played, a soft tune filled with tenderness. She smiled up at him. Always will.

Terra was uncertain of the steps, letting him guide her as they swayed around. She tried to listen to the instructions before giving up, just letting the music and his touch guide her. They were so close, a simple step keeping them apart. The dance was teasing, with steps towards each other matched by the partner backing away. They swayed under the stars, her eyes alight with wonder. Across the floor they swayed, a strange pair amongst those in beautiful clothes of fabric, Terra wearing nothing more but a scrap, the gypsy's outfit only a simple shirt and pants.

She came with him willingly, and he smiled, his ears picking up the tune of the violin and the pipe but his mind, somehow, hearing another thing entirely. His feet followed the beat of a different drum, and when she came into his arms he guided her along with him, whirling her around with him with a devilish grin on his face. He did his best to keep in time with the other dancers and with the music he should have been hearing, but he'd been completely taken over by the music in his heart, and he was soon humming along to a different tune, his mind far-off and lost in wonderland.

They were out of place among these dancers, he in little more than a tattered pair of pants and a silk-woven shirt, and she with nothing but the lovely scarf tied around her throat. It didn't particularly matter, though; Drakien was used to being the odd man out, even among the gypsies--especially among the gypsies. The Romani with morals; but, he thought as the dance continued, if it meant being on the outskirts with such a lovely creature as this one, he didn't think he particularly minded all that much.

he'll sure be disappointed to discover her lack of morals!

The dance was pleasant, and soon enough the wolf began humming a different tune, one that spoke to Terra quite differently. While the violin was filled with tenderness, his was full of longing, a different world than the one they moved inside. She spun out, floating through the air before he pulled her back, and they were together again, the way they belonged. Done with dancing just out of reach Terra moved closer, allowing her arms to snake around his neck. They danced like that, Terra as close as she could imagine, and still wanting more.

Her hands ran gently through his fur, enjoying his touch and warmth. They had moved away from the group, closer to the woods and silence. Her eyes burned, lighting with mischief. She leaned in close, nuzzling his chin before pulling away, breaking them apart. She ran a few steps into the woods before looking over her shoulder, daring him to follow her as far as they would run. She stepped forward again, the shadow becoming a second skin, only her green eyes showing in the darkness.

The dance soon mirrored the world in his head, as she moved up close and wrapped her arms around his neck. He bent his head to allow her better access, and held her close, dancing slowly for a moment before the tune picked up his feet again, and they were spinning, held close together. He tried to lift her, wanted to sing as he did, because this was more like it, this was what he wanted; and it was what she wanted, too, as she pulled him farther from the group and ran her hands through his thick fur, his eyes burning more with every teasing touch. He returned the favor, running his hands gently through the fur at her back and teasing through her mane.

He felt a growl building up in his throat as she nuzzled his chin and then darted away, teasing him still further as she disappeared into the trees. He dashed in after her, sliding away into the shadows and following the eery glow of her eyes. His own flashed like golden fire as he followed her into the woods, slowly gaining on her dancing figure, and he felt a chuckle building up in his throat as he chased her. It was like hunting, playing Wolf and Rabbit, Cat and Mouse; but he had a feeling that there would be something far more satisfying at the end of this chase than dinner.

feel free to pp touching

Still dancing Terra moved on the edge of the music. The forest muted the sound somewhat, but she could still hear it playing, still hear it calling her. Behind her ran the gypsy, matching her flashing moves. It was a hunt, and Terra was the more than willing prey, an odd thought for her. Terra, who showed no weakness, who fought so hard to remain unbeaten, was asking to be taken down by her friend. She danced and wove, choosing spots where the moonlight shone through, giving her glimpses of her silver follower. His eyes were such a delicious color, letting her burn on the inside.

Once she danced back, moving behind him for a brief touch before pulling away, just out of reach. Her steps slowed, almost as if she was nearing their destination, whatever that was. Terra paused before stepping out. Before her was a frozen stream, pines and birches mixing together around the small clearing. It was little more than a gap, with a burrow of rabbits across on the other side. The snow was untouched beyond there, glistening in the light. Terra sighed happily, and moved to take her next step forward, snow beginning to softly fall to the ground, covering their tracks.

They were still dancing, despite being far from the music. It was a primal dance, one that called more to the blood singing in his veins than to his heart or his head; it made the growl build up in his throat, and the fire burn brighter in his eyes as he searched for her in the trees. Drakien wasn't very good at this dance; he would have liked to catch her before they made it far, but she'd slipped away from him, and now he couldn't find her, catching only glimpses of her russet fur before she disappeared again.

It was in one of these momentary losses of his prey that she sneaked up behind him, her fingers brushing his back and causing his fur to stand on end as he whirled around to face her. She'd darted away again before he'd even fully registered her touch, though, and he could only rumble deep in his chest and follow the flicking tail before him.

The chase ended on the bank of a frozen stream, and Drakien paused just as she had at the edge of the woods, taking in the scene before he stepped out into the moonlight. The silver beams ghosted over her fur beautifully, and he moved slowly up behind her, carefully wrapping his arms around her waist and hunching his shoulders slightly so that his head rested atop her own. He laid his ears back, hearing the familiar, soft clink, clink of his earrings clashing together, and let out a soft sigh, unsure where to go from here. He didn't want to force her into anything; she would have to lead.

Terra shivered with excitement as she heard the wolf step into the clearing after her. His arms wrapped around her, warming her body. Her body tingled, a low fire in her body. His head rested atop hers, and Terra let them stay that way for a moment, enjoying the feel of his closeness, of them standing on the edge together. He had followed, as Terra had hoped he would. He deserved something for that. Twisting her head Terra nuzzled the gypsy, licking his chin.

That felt nice. She turned the rest of the way around, her fingers splayed into his fur. Her movements were hesitant, as she didn't know quite what to do, just that she wanted him to be happy, and that each touch brought her closer to her mysterious goal. Terra nuzzled him again, tongue flicking out as she brushed against him. Tail wagging lightly Terra moved so that their shadows looked like one, their bodies pressed close together.

She twisted in his arms, nuzzling up against his chin, and he ran his hands lightly down her back, bending to nuzzle the side of her neck as delighted shivers ran through him. Her fingers splayed through his fur, and he returned the favor, letting his hands come to rest on her hips as he pressed even closer to her. They moved together, and he steadied his feet carefully and bent his head to lap at the insides of her ears. She seemed hesitant, and he got the feeling she hadn't done this before, so he went slowly, moving one hand to pet the back of her head gently.

As she pressed even closer to him, he began backing up, slowly, pulling her with him, until he felt a tree against his spine. Then he relaxed against it, bending his head more to nuzzle her again, making a low growl in his throat. The lines were beginning to grow somewhat hazy, and he lifted his head carefully, his gaze rising to the moon before dropping back to meet her own. After a moment of hesitation, he spoke. "I won't take advantage of you. You have to tell me what you want." Not just for tonight, but for everything; he didn't want to take advantage of her, but he wouldn't be dragged in over his head, either. He had to make sure they were both happy with what happened next.

OOC new table!

The gypsy nuzzled her neck, and Terra let out a small whine of pleasure. That felt so nice. He held her close, hands gripping her tightly. It tickled to feel him licking inside her ears, and in other circumstances Terra would have laughed. It was so good, so sweet, yet Terra still wanted more. Her head was stroked, her ears flattening slightly as he touched them before returning to standing upright, begging for more. Each touch sent a small shock through her body, a big smile on her face. Still not sure what to do Terra nipped at his fur gently before being pulled further back.

They stood under a tree, the shadows concealing them from sight. Looking up Terra could see the moon reflected in his eyes, hanging full in the sky. He nuzzled her again before speaking, tearing apart some of the spell that held them there. Not wanting the moment to stop Terra licked his nose teasingly. I want you. I want to know all of you, who you are. I want you happy. It was simple words for her, but they still burned in her mind, brighter than anything. She wanted this stranger, this wolf, more than anything else she'd ever wanted before. Terra reached up, tugging at the bandana on his head.

Let the night take you away
