Faster than she could think the tables were flipped. Dalgina was charging Kiara, about to win, and then giant jaws grasped around her body. She struggled for a moment as she felt herself turn. The whole world shifted, and Dalgina was staring up at the dirt ceiling. Kiara stood over her, triumphant. Her belly was softly nipped at, bringing a small giggle from the puppy. She was getting tired from racing around outside, and still hadn't completely recovered from the long trek out. Combining that with dragging the stick around, and you had a puppy ready to drop.

Not that Dalgina would admit that. She was always ready to go. Rolling over she wagged her tail as she bowed down before Kiara. A large yawn ruined the effect as Dalgina straightened back up, pushing into her friend's side. Play. Her sleepy eyes looked up at the white wolf, expecting her to leap up and begin the game all over again. Her tail waved hopefully, big brown eyes staring soulfully into the blue ones. She was ready to keep going. Really, she was.

Puppies had two main characteristics that described tham as a whole. They played hard and crashed quickly. Now that Dalgina had played for a while it was time for her too sleep. Kiara watched with loving affection as the small puppy yawned. Even if Dalgina wasn't her daughter, Jace's puppies were still precious to her and she treated them like she would her own. A soft smile crossed Kiara's lips as Dalgina stubbornly insisted that she wanted to play. It was clear from her droopy eye lids and yawns that she was tired, yet her large brown eyes stared up at Kiara's own sapphire orbs hoping to continue the game. It was time for the adult to take over.

The Ikusei crawled further into the den and wrapped herself gently around the edges. While she left enough space at the entrance for Dalgina to leave, Kiara also used her body to shield the small puppy from the cold. Dalgina didn't have two layers of fur like the arctic wolf, and Kiara was worried that she might get cold. "It's time to sleep Dalgina. When you wake up we can play again, but for now you and I both need our rest." Kiara gently licked Dalgina before she put her own head down. Looking deep into her memories, the older wolf started to hum the soft lullaby her parents used to sing when she was a puppy. The melody was soft and gentle, and although Kiara was not as good as Jace, she could at least sing a little. It wasn't long before the snow wolf fell asleep to her own tune.

Kiara came the rest of the way into the den, and Dalgina's tail wagged. They were going to continue the game! That didn't happen though. Kiara settled around the edges, leaving the puppy enclosed in the warmth. She whined as she was informed it was time to sleep. Pouting Dalgina let out another yawn. Her head was licked, and Dalgina moved closer to the big wolf. Settling into her fur Dalgina pushed in sleepily. No. Her words were mumbled, and as Kiara began to sing the tiny puppy lost the battle, and sank into sleep.
