Zephyr is a native of Scotland. He lived in a small village with his family, a group of herbalist wolves. His father wanted him to join in the family business, and Zephyr was interested in it for a while...but quit after the death of his younger sister, Sonja. He had a best friend in Scotland, Devlin, who he spent nearly every moment with. After a while, he and Devlin became lovers.
Zephyr's father drank a lot and was involved with another wolf besides Zephyr's mother Alladaen. He contracted the werewolf virus. In his larger Luperci form, his father was much stronger than he was, and when Zephyr refused to practice medicine his father went crazy. Zephyr managed to escape the village with Devlin and board a ship set for South America. He was dropped off on the eastern side of the continent.
He has a strong distrust of werewolves. He did not know that his father had been drinking, had never heard of alchohol before, so he thinks that when a wolf turns into a werewolf they go crazy and mad.
On the ship ride to the Americas, Devlin cheated on Zephyr with a member of the crew, a werewolf. Zephyr found out because he caught Devlin shifting into the Luperci form. Devlin became very upset, and a few days before they hit shore he killed himself by hanging.
Ever since then Zephyr has been wandering, not devoting himself to any particular piece of land.
