Dated the 13th.

Slowly but surely winter was receding and the first shoots of spring grass rose up through patches in the snow. The sun was shining and the day was warm compared to the normal winter weather. Somewhere in the forest a bird chirped, its call reciprocated by another. The song birds were returning and the land had begun to wake. Kiara emerged from her den, tired and slow. She stretched out her back and grunted, the extra weight of the puppies made it ache. The mud stained her pristine white paws brown, but she didn't really care. After a quick sniff and a short shake the arctic wolf set off.

Kiara's first stop of the day was the river. It's bank had frozen over during the winter and formed solid sheets along the ground. The very middle of the stream rippled and flowed freely, the moving water too warm to ever freeze. The once thick sheets of ice were thinning breaking in the warmer weather, which made walking on them precarious. As Kaira approached the bank her footsteps became more slower, more careful. Cautiously she approached the ice and tested it with her forepaw. The frozen water cracked slightly under her weight, and Kiara backed away. The snow wolf repeated the test several times before she found a sturdy piece that was thick enough to hold her weight. Carefully Kiara lowered herself and drank for the stream, the icey cold water sent chills down her body. Once her thirst was quenched she left the banks of the river and headed towards the remnants of the human highway.

It took longer than expected for the pregnant female to reach the highway. Already the snow had dissipated from the familiar path. Kiara stepped onto the black earth and allowed it to take her deeper into Ichika territory. Kiara had been running up and down the highway for a month, and earlier in her pregnancy she had also done drills. Between the two daily exercises her body had become the picture of health. Although she could no longer run or do the drills, Kiara still found pleasure in traveling along the expansive road. Kiara moved at a steady, almost lazy trot. It wasn't long before she had fallen into an easy rhythm and had left Wentworth Valley behind her.

OOC: Asad and Fatin can be wherever you decide Smile

IC: Asad still had yet to confess his feelings to Fatin and she had yet to tell him that she reciprocated them, although the only one’s whose feelings weren’t already known were hers. But despite the relative silence, at least on feelings, there was a definite companionship between the two lovers. Asad was normally silent anyways but she had been really silent the last couple of weeks. He knew the source of her silence.

It was because of the meeting where everyone had chosen to be rather selfish and not accept change when all that X’yrin wanted was for his or her home not to die. But they decided that she had no right to do so and hurtful words were spoken. She had supported their leader and Asad had supported her. But she had to wonder if it was worth all the strife that had come from it, even if it was a short amount.

Her friend, or whatever he was to her, had gone out and about a lot more than she had and had found a place that he enjoyed going to. He insisted on her coming but didn’t really explain what they would do. They went to a highway and Fatin knew from the look in Asad’a eyes that he wanted to run. She wasn’t weak but didn’t like to run. So she shook her head and watched as he jogged off, enjoying the sight that Asad gave her.

What for are they in?

The black pavement beneath her feet made traveling through Ichika easy. Although many sections were broken entirely, it was easier on her body then the mountain. As Kiara moved slowly along the highway she happily dreamed of the days to come. Kiara didn't often think of the future, however with the birth of her puppies just weeks away she couldn't help but wonder about the changes that would happen in her life. The arctic wolf loved puppies and was the packs designated puppy sitter. She had been diligently watching after Jace's litter for several months and when Sarian was still around Kiara had helped raised her as well. Living with Sarian had been tiring, but Kiara had enjoyed every minute of it. Perhaps her own children would be like that as well. Kiara's tail wagged at the prospect. In the young mother's mind her puppies couldn't come soon enough.

When the highway turned North and started to head for New Glasgow, the white female wondered if she should turn around. Although the area had some of the best stretches of road, Kaira was also fairly far away from her den. She wanted to continue walking, but being too far away for the woods made her nervous. There wasn't any reason for it, just instincts. Although she knew that the puppies were still a few weeks away, she still felt the need to be close to her den. Kiara looked back, but decided to continue on for a little while longer. She hated being cooped up in her hole in the ground and wished that she could just run.

Soon the figures of two canines appeared in the distance. The larger figure started down the road towards Kiara while his companion remained in one place. The sight was rather odd to Kiara and she paused briefly to cock her head to the side. "Namaste," she called as she trotted up to the male. Her usual smile and wagging tail were in full force. Kiara loved meeting new canines, and moved towards them as quickly as her bulging body would move.

The mother-to-be- recognized both of them from the pack meeting, although she didn't know who they were. They had been one of the few to vocally stand up for X'yrin's leadership. At the time, Kiara didn't know who to follow. Her instinct told her to follow Jace, a canine who in Kiara's mind would make a great alpha. However, X'yrin had been given the position and Kiara really like X'yrin. To be frank, Kiara still didn't know what to think of the situation so she let the be. There was no point in deciding because in the end, it didn't really matter to her. The luperci packs were wierd anyways.

Fatin Nejem

OOC :: They’re Optime.
WC :: +000

Fatin had to admit that she really enjoyed watching Asad’s body. Especially the way his muscles rippled as he walked, and if she was really honest with herself, his butt. Of course there were other ways that she enjoyed his body but she refused to let her mind go there at the moment. There would plenty of time to do that at some point in time.

She watched as one of they’re pack mates approached Asad and greeted him. He gave her a friendly smile and she was pretty sure that he said hello to her but Fatin couldn’t hear from where she was. So she headed towards them, jogging slightly to get there. Of course Asad heard her and turned to see her and she could tell that he was admiring her, which brought a blush to her face.

But she stood next to him and grinned at the obviously pregnant female. Namaste. My name is Fatin and this is Asad. What might your name be? She wasn’t jealous nor did she try to show that Asad was her man. Instead Asad placed his arm around her waist and she leaned against him, comfortable near him.

The arctic female's greeting was met with a friendly smile and a polite hello. As usual, the optime formed luperci towered over Kiara and she was forced to crane her neck and look up. The soft-spoken male only gave a short greeting, but Kiara wasn’t really bothered by it. Soon, another pack member joined the two wolves and again, Kiara smiled and repeated her greeting.

The shy demeanor of the female dog confused Kiara. She didn’t notice that the wolf had been admiring his female companion. The white female cocked her head to the side in confusion as the reddish dog jogged up to them. The pair was strange, but the appeared close. There was a little envy in her eyes as she watched the two stand comfortably next to each other. The male Kiara had come to love and accept had simply disappeared and left the single mother to care for their puppies. It was a frustrating and annoying turn of events, however Kiara was still elated at the prospect of having puppies.

”Ah, nice to meet you. I’m Kiara, the Ikusei, I mean the puppy sitter.” Asad and Fatin, they were unusual names but seemed to match the strangers quite nicely. Kiara guessed that they were mates by their easygoing demeanor around one another. Must be nice, she thought with a hint of jelousy.

OOC: sorry about the wait

IC: Asad didn’t know her feelings toward him yet but he probably had some inkling of what they were. He did seem a bit embarrassed at the fact that he towered over the white furred female who was in lupus form. Normally, it would be weird but their leader liked being in the more natural form so they didn’t think less of others who weren’t in Optime. It was simply a personal preference in their minds.

Fatin became less awkward as Asad stared less at her and looked more at the unshifted female. Of course, his gaze wasn’t admiring towards her but polite. So the red furred female wasn’t at all jealous of the attention that Asad gave Kiara and grinned in delight at hearing about the white furred female. ”It’s a pleasure to meet you, Kiara. I hope to be the enchanter of the pack and Asad will be a guard, like he was back home.” She didn’t mention where home was but left it up for questions.

It wasn’t that she disliked her home or wasn’t proud of where she came from, she simply didn’t often say outright where she was from. Fatin also didn’t really want it to be known that back home she was a princess of sorts, with her father being a sheikh in Turkey. She didn’t want to be known as that since that wasn’t what she was.

Asad and Fatin were so close to one another, and they way they carried themselves reminded Kiara of Shiloh and Aleo. They had the same intimate atmosphere, a feeling of total trust and knowledge of the other. It was something all members in a pack should experience together, yet the luperci seemed to limit such trust to mates only. It was a curious practice, but that was just another way the two-legged were strange.

Kiara listened as Fatin talked about her and Asad’s hope for future ranks. The guard was not a new rank for Kiara. She knew exactly what that meant, it was pretty much the beta rank in her birth pack. If Asad had been a guard before, then it was even better. However, Fatin’s desire to be then enchanter peaked the pregnant female’s interest. There were no encanter’s in Ichika no Ho-en, so Kiara didn’t know what an enchanter was. Kiara was by no means shy, and her curiosity was strong. Without hesitating she asked, ”What’s an enchanter?”

It didn’t seem to matter that she had been in Ichika for six months, or that she had lived with a shifter for several months. There were always things that surprised her about the luperci and she it seemed as if just when she thought she had learned everything, something new came up. Despite the daunting amount of infromation that she had yet to learn, Kiara managed to take her situation in great stride. She loved living in Ichika, and did her best to not let the differences between herself and the rest of the pack bother her.
