no idea what is going on here. brain vomit. anyone can join. xD / +5!

Heel training with Vito was going great, and after about a full month, the large stallion was following commands without hesitation. Dixie was more than pleased with this, and had been riding him for over three hours a day, getting him used to having weight on his back for long periods of time. Of course, Jazper was huge and would put more pressure on his spine, so she’d brought additional weight half of the time. Using small bales of hay, she slowly added extra pounds to his carry load. It wouldn’t be enough to equal the Sole’s weight, but it’d get Vito more used to it.

Today was fun, she’d set up a series of jumps within the ring and was riding Vito bareback, holding on with her thighs as he cleared the things without any trouble at all. He was truly a blast to ride and bond with, and Dixie hoped that Jazper would have an easy enough time when he decided to try bonding more with his powerful steed. If not…then the little white woman would just have to walk him through it step by step, trying to help them create a friendship that would most likely be unbreakable.

Leaning down, she clicked softly and stroked Vito’s neck a few times, sighing when she felt the sweaty froth building there. The stallion pranced in place, tossing his head and whinnying softly, wanting to take another run through the jumps. Shaking her head, Dixie slid from his back and rubbed her hands over his hot neck. Go run by yerself, silly boy, I’m wore out. Turning away from him, she stretched and yawned, trotting over to the fence and climbing over it with ease. Vito snorted and began to run around the ring again, bucking and kicking all around happily.

Another yawn broke through her lips as she strode towards where the ‘barn’ and ‘corral’ areas would be in the future, when they were rebuilt. Sitting down on an old piece of wood, she looked around and contemplated the reality of maybe getting more livestock. Horses were great and all…but they weren’t good for food or trading, at least not all the time. Sure, horses like Vito and Gypsy would be absolutely great for trading for large sums of goods in return. Not that Dixie would ever consider trading either of them, which is why having sheep, goats and cow would benefit the pack.

It was time to get some more animals brought into the area. Pack mates needed to learn more about the horses, and everyone needed to know how to deal with them and other livestock in case something bad happened to herself, Anann or Wayne. Leaning back, she narrowed her eyes and thought about all of the terrain her and Wayne had traveled since being in the Nova Scotia area. The rocky mountainous places would be best for finding sheep and goats, and she already knew where to find piglets to raise when the time came. That just left chickens and maybe a cow or two…Oh, and a plan on how and when to go find these creatures. She figured it would be easier if there was someone else with her when she went, and she WAS going, soon.

There were plenty of things out there to keep a pup occupied. Patrolling the borders, exploring the courthouse, running through the woods, eating, wrestling, the list just went on. Adelle had managed to exhaust that list in a short amount of time though, and was now wondering what to do next. Trotting around she soon found the scent of a creature that she hadn't thoroughly investigated yet. Rabbits hardly ever held still for as long as she wished, but this one was important. This was a horse, the one that carried them into battle and played together, and ran, and pulled things, and did plenty of things with them.

Excited Adelle broke into a trot. Soon a fenced area rose up, the smell of the horse strong in the air. Tail wagging crazily she charged towards where a lone horse was, suddenly distracted by the presence of someone that she knew. Changing direction the pup was now barreling towards Dixie. Dixie! The pup's presence was announced with a loud bark, working on not running her over. Stopping she danced in place before her. What doing?

adelle is so cute / +3!

The warm sun had begun to warm the woman, causing her eyes to droop, a yawn pushing from her chest. Drowsiness was threatening to take over and throw her into a light sleep when she heard the soft pitter patter foot falls of a puppy…a rather large puppy at that. Grinning, the woman stretched out on the chunk of wood, light colored eyes opened wide and watching for Adelle. Hopefully the little rascal wouldn’t go running into Vito’s pen, as she was sure the large stallion would not appreciate the intruder. Hopefully he wouldn’t try to trample her…maybe chase and give her a good scare though.

Her lips pulled into a wider grin when the two toned pup came bounding over, looking excited and simply happy to be alive. The little one was always so active, constantly trying to get into this or that, wanting to learn about everything in sight. It made Dixie think about possibly having pups in the future…and she shuddered, obviously not ready to even truly consider such a thing. Getting pregnant would result in gaining weight, special treatment, probably an inability to shift or ride horses…or even work or do anything! That was just not an option at all, at least not until the pack was more stable and the livestock situation was fixed. Dixie refused to become incapacitated in any way until she knew her family was well taken care of.

Hey there, hun…how are you? Her hand slid out and reached over to stroke at the pup’s head gently, scratching behind her ears and down her neck, ruffling the thick fur there. I jus’ went for a ride and now I’m a bit tired…what’re you doin’ all the way out here, hmm? Her head tilted to the side as she watched the little one, truly wondering what she’d be doing wandering around where the horses were without anyone nearby to help if she really needed it.

Dixie was there, lying out and perfectly content with the warmth of the sun beating down. Adelle stopped just in time, tail wagging brightly. She loved the pack members, always so friendly and open and welcoming. Except for the one. He was scared of her for some reason. Adelle really didn't get it. Her thick fur was stroked, Adelle happily moving to sit down nearby so Dixie could keep petting her. Good! Um...find horses!

Asked what she was doing out here, Adelle considered the question. There wasn't really a purpose to her being here besides growing bored and deciding to follow a scent trail. Track. Dixie here, not horse. Adelle looked over to where the horse was, puzzling over how to better explain it. She'd been following a horse's scent, but had found Dixie at the end instead. There was a horse, but Dixie was definitely the source of the pup's attention.

silly horsie / +!

Dixie sighed and stretched, raising her arms high above her head. Adelle was so damn energetic, just being around the pup could sometimes have the normally hyper woman feeling absolutely exhausted. Yawning widely as she rolled off of the bench like wood, her body hit the ground near the smaller female. Smiling, the white girl reached out and tapped the pup's nose gently. The horse is behin' that fence over there...an' he is kind of mean to most people, but you can still come see him with me.

Reaching down with both arms, she scooped Adelle up and held the big pup to her chest as she walked towards the pin. Vito slid to a stop and looked over at them, his ears pricked forward with curiosity. Leaning her hip against one of the fence posts, she hefted Adelle a bit higher so Vito was in clear sight. The stallion snorted softly and trotted closer, eyeing the puppy cautiously.

Hey there, Vito. This gal here is named Adelle. Ain't she a cute little thing? His head bobbed slightly, as if in answer to her question, and he stretched his neck out. Once close enough, his nostrils flared and he pulled in her scent, matching her looks and smell with a name. After that he tossed his head and spun around, trotting off to the other side of the pin.

Dixie rolled off the wood, Adelle rapidly backing up so she wouldn't get hit as well. Her tail wagged brightly as the white dog bounced to her feet. Her nose was tapped, and Adelle promptly sneezed. Told where the horse was Adelle glanced over, trying to see past the thick wood of the fence. Arms wrapped around her stomach, and she felt herself hoisted into the air. Out of habit Adelle instantly relaxed, going still so she could be carried. She was curious about this mean horse.

The revealed horse didn't look mean at all. He looked very, very beautiful. He was powerful, and immediately Adelle was launched into a fantasy, the stallion carrying her as they charged through battle, the horse trampling all that opposed them. The eager puppy squirmed, leaning into the fence to get the best look possible. The horse stretched out, sniffing at her. Adelle reached out her tongue, managing to just lick his nose before he wheeled away. Wow. He a warrior too?
