I'm at a payphone trying to call home

Pain. Deep and agonizing. Levent wasn't here this time to comfort her. She was alone.. And hurting. It had all really started when she saw one of the tomcats from CdA wandering outside. The memories just flooded back- All of them. Her throat ached from making various whimpering sounds, and after scratching at the American birch she was now cuddled against, at least two of her claws that she had examined so far were broken. She turned her hand palm side up, looking over her nails to see if she had broken any more. The pointer finger of her left hand was the only one that really drew her attention.. Crimson was spilling from it. She licked at the broken nail, washing away some of the blood with her saliva to attempt and check out the wound. The whole area was very sensitive, but the actual 'wound' wasn't that bad. Sure, it hurt and such.. And there was a LOT of blood. But it would heal.

Bambi was nestled up against the base of a large tree. The roots were thick and strong, stretching out across the ground. She breathed in deeply, inhaling and exhaling on a count of four. It was hard to tell what time it was-- She had been wandering for what seemed like, and very well could have been, hours. She wasn't in CdA anymore, that was for sure. The scent of her pack lands had been lost gradually, which aided her in ending up so far away. The past few days had been filled with tears and sore feet.

The multicolored dog cradled her feather scarf, gripping it like a safety blanket. Her eyes were throbbing, and she wouldn't have been surprised if they were red or irritated. She had been rubbing her face as she wept. Her azure eyes scanned the area around her as she tried to get an idea of where she was. The scents that swarmed around her indicated that she was near a pack's borders, but not within. Probably not even close enough to be chased off if she was being disruptive. She was in a forested area, but not to deep within them. She could see what looked like a meadow or some thing through some trees not to far away. She sucked in her breath, feeling her body begin to tremble again as she started up with her weeping. It had been nice to have time to breath, but it wasn't long before she was completely broken down again.
