She had risen before the sun began to peak through the window of her new room in Haven Manor. The cinnamon girl had not wanted to leave her new bed, but the disciplined schedule burned into her brain from her youth would not let her sleep past sunrise. The occasional instance of waking up late did occur, but usually only if she had been abnormally exhausted the day before. That had not been the case today, for today Cassia was eager to begin exploring her new homeland. She'd been here no more than a day or two and already felt a deep bond with this land. The mahogany maned wolfess had yet to meet many of her pack mates, save for Oak and Anu, but she was sure that would all come in due time.

By the time she had made it out the front door, the sun was still only just beginning to color the sky with its radiance. Wearing only her blouse, skirt, and her sword belted around her waist, Cassia had headed southwest, around Rabbit lake, Tallermein's Cottage, and the newly repaired Koender windmill. Her destination was the orchard Oak had told her about. She had not seen it on her journey into the lands, but Oak had told her at one point that they had been close. At this time of year the cinnamon girl figured the apple trees would be close to blossoming, so maybe her nose could help guide her the rest of the way. Sea green gaze wandered through the trees as she made her way towards the orchard, ever alert to the scent of deer, elk, or any other common prey she was familiar with. Though she was not hunting today, the huntress could not simply turn off her training, for one day soon she would likely need to find food. The game would be on and she would need the advantage. That was for another day, though, and surely enough as the Calidus girl continued towards the place where she had met the pack Praetor a couple days before she detected the faint scent of what else but apples. The scent was barely noticeable on the wind, but still it gave her a new direction and she strode off towards her goal with an excited kick in her step. Though calm and collected on most occasions, exploration had always been one of Cassia's favorite pastimes, since she was a pup. It still gave her joy even as a young woman.

A few minutes passed before the scattered trees opened to a new kind of forest, with most of the trees still growing in the neat rows the humans had planted them in long ago. Inhaling deeply, absorbing the scent of the orchard, the mocha ticked girl resumed walking, but at a slower pace, up and down the rows of trees. She'd likely spend most of the day here; exploring every inch of the orchard until she was satisfied she could learn no more of its secrets today. That would be awhile from now, though. Today's adventure had just begun.
Anu was a creature of great habit. It was common for her to stay within the land's boundaries for weeks, and for the wolfess to wake, do, and then sleep to the same rhythm for all that time. In the morn she found herself seeking the blooms and the saplings. They, like fresh pups, needed the most attention from the hortalculturist.

Silver tipped fingers plucked a small blossom, letting the flowers fall to the ground as she let the bud slip from her fingers. It was important for the trees, just as pruning was for the growing creatures. It allowed for fruit growth, giving space for the apples and keeping the dropped smaller apples to a minimum. The gray wolf hummed lightly as she worked, her thoughts washed by the simple work and allowed to be just as simple. The weight of changes threatened to make the Dreaming elder anxious and unsettled, but she so easily lost herself in her work.

There was a scent in the air, wafting towards her through the fragrance of the blossoms. It was surprising and yet familiar, the newest member of the Dreaming pack. Anu stood on the other side of the tree, perhaps unnoticed by the female as she walked down the agacent row of trees. Good morning Dreamer. she greeted as she peered through the bushy branches, a soft smile on her face.

The orchard smelled wonderful, sweet with the scent of new blossoms, as the cinnamon wolfess strolled down the path between the trees. Her keen nose did not detect the scent of another for it was too busy inhaling the intoxicating scent of the trees. When a feminine voice greeted her, it was only natural that the Calidus girl jump, startled by the sudden appearance of another individual who had likely been there long before she arrived. Right hand instinctively reached for her sword, stopping only when her sea green gaze found the source of the voice. Releasing her grip on the hilt of her blade, the young femme smiled, embarrassed by her lack of awareness. "A good morning to you as well, Praetor...I mean, Anu," she stumbled, forgetting that titles were not often referenced by the members of Crimson Dreams, at least not in casual conversation. It was a different custom from her old home, but a welcome one. She had disliked having to remember all the various dignitaries by their titles. Names were so much simpler in her opinion.

For a moment Cassia fidgeted with her sleeve, a bit ashamed that she had almost drawn her sword on one of her new leaders. However, her upbringing and training overrode her nervousness and she forced her hands to clasp in front of her, making sure that her gaze was focused on Anu. It was likely that the woman would not care about her minor misstep and would just continue with the conversation as if it had not happened at all. A gentle morning breeze caught her long, mahogany mane, which she had chosen to leave down for the day, displaying its impressive length, reaching to just above the base of her tail. Had she been on a hunting expedition or practicing her fighting forms she would have tied it up, but simple exploration did not warrant such preparation.
