The evening was coming after a day of preparation, promising a generous reprieve after all the efforts laid into this end. The scent of blood and meat was heavy in the air coupled with the marking scent of the Family as a whole gathered to show their thanks for this blessing of the ancestors; this land they came to stand upon. This land they would call their home.

Under the waning light, the female stood quite proudly upon the side of the mountain overlooking the valley drenched in gold. She could recall no finer scene than this that brought on such calm and ease. When once she had looked upon the lands in uncertainty, the unfamiliar terrain appeasing to her troubled side, such feelings were gone now as she looked out across the reaches of the territory fondly noting each landmark with its given name. And soon their names would be shared among the Family and it was her hope that they too would experience that familiarity that brought comfort and assurance that these marks were a part of their home. She could never grow tired of calling this place what it was; the beginning of a future to be shared by whom she cared deeply for.

Yet for the gathering well prepared for and momentous as this, the Issor was garbed rather modestly for the occasion. The sign of her rank was displayed only by the height of her tail and the confident lift of her auburn crown. Her proud trophies had been left behind, save for one that began her new tradition from her time in Ichika no Ho-en. The fox hide fashioned to her shoulder was well groomed for the occasion despite the rough state she kept herself in. Her mane remained flowing and wild with heavy bangs obscuring her eyes and only sections of golden pelt were bothered to be tamed. The garb of comfort without needing to stand on ceremony… besides it was only her Family that would see her this way. And would they wrong her for looking as she always did?

Patiently she walked the length of their communal ground, absenting brushing aside loosened rocks that fell underpaw. The aroma of meat was simply too alluring to ignore for long, but she resisted the growing urge to feast without the rest of the Family present. But as her eyes lingered on the piles of delectable flesh skinned and prepared by her skillful claws, she grew more and more anxious, comically so as she pranced around the meat with tail swaying high. Where were the rest of the Family, she questioned, though the mystery could have been solved by a beaconing howl. Surely they could smell this incredible feast…

He could smell the meet from a quarter mile away. The coppery scent hung heavily and beckoned to him as strongly as any call would have. The dark male was marking their still fresh territory. They had been here for a time so their marks did stain the land already. But there was still an amount of pride behind wandering about the land as an owner and alpha. Needless to say, he would quickly give up on this slightly pointless venture for a chance to bond with any of his pack members. No doubt there was a lot of meat to be had with such a tantalizing odder on the air.

So strong was the scent of food that he couldn’t even smell his loved companion as he approached her chosen celebration area. Only when he pushed out of the foliage and into view did he see her golden pelt warmed gently in the falling sun. A grand smile spread over his lips as he looked from the fresh meat laid out to the prancing woman. His thick secui paws carried him over to her in a few quicksteps and he nuzzled her warmly. Good evening. Such a big feast set out and you didn’t even ask for my assistance?

The smell of food had wafted tantalizingly in to the beasts' nose and, unknowingly, his well muscled legs moved of their own accord, sauntering up the cold path toward his goal. It smelt fresh and his stomach growled loudly, as though urging him forward to get a decent meal.

But, as usual, the world around was met with his wary gaze, blazing fiery eyes dimmed in to slits like beacons hidden beneath coarse, dark grey fur, enhancing the mystery that hung around him ten-fold. Tentative steps never wavered as flesh and sinew worked together in an harmonious tune, creating the most quiet killer within a three mile radius.

Abruptly, he stopped, freezing as though he were suddenly made of stone. He stared round, nose high in the air and sniffing for the smell of flesh. It was growing stronger with every pace he took up this slope. And to add to this delicious smell was the scenery- it was just amazing.

Rancor never like to pay attention to detail much, but he doubted anyone could whilst they were up here. A sloping valley, such as he had never seen before was spread out before him in a rolling landscape. It was impressive and somewhat soothing to watch at the same time. His pinpoint eyesight could just see, if he squinted, the ruins of buildings in the distance. It was as if nature was taking its land back.

Still, he proceeded on until another scent beside fresh meat hit his nose - other wolves. Cautiously, he stopped, long ears twitching for the sounds of an attack. Both intelligence and power arose from his Secui form, giving him a bashed up mixture of instincts to run and the curiosity to carry on.

The curiosity won, apparently.

Slowly, as if every step would mean his fall to death, he peered out through the greenery, eyes narrowed in to slits once again. The sight that met him was not one he had been expecting though. Instead of many, there were only two wolves, one that seemed to be prancing around and the other seemed to have just got there himself.

Without really realizing it, he stepped forward again, purposely making his tail whip against a bush behind him. He wanted to see if he was to be chased away or welcomed.

The meat was appetizing and begging for the she-wolf to rend the flesh apart and take from the warm, bleeding belly the rich insides worth the tongue of an Alpha. The finer meats; the heart, the tender liver, the engorged kidneys with a taste so sublime it made her wanting maw salivate by thought alone.

Oh where were the rest of them? She whined in distress with tortured expression fixed on the meat. Of all whom she expected to come to the scent of the kill, she was surprised that the young duo hadn’t emerged just yet. No doubt they were tormenting each other as young ones did, but the scent should have pulled them from that and into the warm flesh of fresh killed prey. Perhaps they were too deep in play.

But she did not stand alone for too much longer. With the appearance of her beloved friend came the hope that the kills would soon be enjoyed. Dressed in the formidable garb of his halfling form, he came to her and was received by an equally warm greeting, accented with a loving kiss to his jaw as she whined in content. Of course she wanted to rally this feast with her own strength, as not only a show of her capabilities, but also to enforce her role as the caretaker, the Alpha, the Shepard that had every intention of seeing to the happiness and prosperity of the Family. And there was not a doubt in her mind that her loving companion would have a feat for himself in due time to state his claim to rank as well. But now, this was her moment. And with one other of the Family present, she was more inclined to tear open the carcass.

Slipping away from the obsidian male to stand in front of the belly of a young bull, she beaconed her partner over with a playful sweep of her tail so they could share this fine catch together. Her eager teeth had only just pinched into the soft, warm flesh before a stir within the brush called her attention from the gushing wound. Her head snapped up to attention with gleaming eyes peering through the obscuring veil of red to spy a lone form standing at a curious distance. The wild was all she could scent from their distance, compelling her defined limbs to inch forward to better search his form for his own unique fragrance. The unkempt trail of red followed her steps as she proceeded forward with head lowered but tail held high and faintly wagging.

“Good evening to you, stranger…” the female greeted softly, her octave as warm and welcoming as the gentle smile playing on her muzzle. In the midst of addressing him, her gaze wandered over what she could make of his form. A pronounced physique taken to a form her eyes were rather fond of seeing. A silent testament to both strength and potential that warranted the admiration of any that beheld it. It was a strong, well worn form that elicited much more than a passive sway of her tail. “Are you well?”

[Sorry for such a short reply in that space of time! I'll try to keep up!]

A smile, neither garish nor sinister, graced his canine lips as the femme sauntered up to him, tail wagging as she greeted him. A warm smile was bestowed upon her own muzzle, giving her a look of welcoming kindness, which he gladly returned.

His hulking physique stepped out slowly from the foliage, nodding at the femme before saying "Yes, I am well. Thank you for asking," his deep, polite voice rang out, though it was calm and quiet, if not a little croaky from lack of use, "May I ask you your name? My own is Rancor. Rancor Dedonne."

His head perked up unknowingly, just glancing over at the delicious meat laid out, before turning his gaze back to the she-wolf.v "A lovely feast you have there, by the way."

Suddenly, he seemed to have exhausted his power of speech. Somewhere in the back of his mind, his stoic nature was finally beginning to kick in, causing his muzzle to clamp shut, white teeth forming a cage that held his tongue firmly. From here on in he would be saying as little as possible. She knew his name. That was enough information for now. In fact, he probably wouldn't have given his name yet if it wasn't for the fact that this she-wolf had such a welcoming look about her. It felt almost like a home. Almost.

Quietly, he waited, ears perched forward on his head, waiting for the femme's reply.

Home again, then off in a flash. Terra's paws had carried the coyote far, farther than she'd been before. Her tail flashed behind her, carried off with the excitement of the land around her. There was so much to see there, cutting through rocky terrain and dancing over the mountain she'd discovered. Her nose dropped to the ground, following the various scents. Picking up the scent of wolves in the area, not to mention food, Terra's tail shot up.

Her lithe body flew over the ground, reaching the large feast that was laid out. Terra noted the presence of one that she had fought with, her tail wagging proudly at his presence, and the female that she'd met the fearful ghost with. The other wolf was a complete stranger for her. Hello. Mind if I steal a bite? Not waiting for acceptance Terra grabbed a hunk of deer and backed up, tail swishing as she dug through.

The meat was attractive thought he wasn’t all that hungry. His companion’s warm greeting prodded his stomach into activity if only to have a meal with her. Something they could share and enjoy together, maybe with members of the pack if they smelt it too. These expectations, oddly enough, were disregarded for the company of a stranger. A stranger on their land who looked like he had his share of strength and ferocity.

Blue eyes and an obsidian muzzle lifted in time with his female companion to note the announcement made by the Rancor. Jaden was still determining whether this wolf was looking for trouble, making mental notes of where and how he might go about attacking and chasing him off when X’yrin greeted him with pep in her step. Thoughts that maybe she knew him from somewhere or that she had met Rancor on her travels accounted for this kindness. Then she addressed him as stranger and the Sangilak Alpha was completely mystified by her actions.

He watched her and tried to discern an answer. What the eager swish of her tail and warmth of her voice suggested irritated him more then he thought it should have. It caused his ear left ear to flick as it did when he found himself suddenly annoyed. He approached the conversing pair without yet acknowledging the other male and sat patiently on his haunches. Rancor seemed honest enough and if his intentions were to share in their feast, Jaden could not deny him. After all, he hadn’t pulled this extravagant amount of meat together himself.

While listening silently to his companion’s lovely voice and the low tones of the other, another face came forth from the foliage. This one was more familiar. Even though she was a coyote Jaden had some respect for the small canine woman. She had fought by his side during the raid on Salsola. This respect was enough that he was only slightly annoyed when she dove into the meal without waiting for a response from either of them. He looked to X’yrin who he thought might not be so lenient on the coyote. I know her, he said calmly, knowing the final word on whether Terra’s slightly brash actions would be acceptable rested on her perfectly golden shoulders, She is a friend who helped me during the time I spent wandering. He hadn’t told his friend about those dealings with Salsola and knew she would frown upon the knowledge, being as they were a developing pack with no allies. And it is pleasant to meet you, Rancor. I’m Jaden Ohanzee. He greeted kindly .

The woman was curiously by nature, shamelessly so that showed through her visual assessment of the unknown male before she took it upon herself to walk around him. Trusting the eyes of her companion would be trained when her would not, she circled the scarred male with ease in step, still accompanied by the light sway of her tail. Jaden's growing irritation for her behavior went unnoticed for the duration of her inspection, but as one could feel the touch of the wind but not see it, she could feel his eyes on her though her needn't affirm their direction.

Swiftly, the she-wolf ended her silent inquisition with a satisfactory whine before returning to stand in front of Rancor. The whole of her mountainous form acted as a barrier between him and the feast, but by just enough to enforce he need only ask before a full belly was his to have. Fondly she smiled, tail high and curling with intrigue. If a feast lured wolves of this caliber from hiding, she would do well to orchestra an event like this more often.

"I am X'yrin," she began softly and again parted her lips to share her title, both the weathered flesh was clamped shut as her attention was stolen by a vaguely familiar vagrant having her way with their meat. Immediately she looked to her obsidian Alpha with lips already peeled back to expose her treacherous fangs. With hackles raised and limbs on the recoil, she about sprang for the smaller female had her partner not had a say about her. Her ears darted forward as bewilderment knitted her brows. He knew someone this rude? Her tongue begged to inquire, but she did better to remain silent and simply let her companion watch over her as she fed. She would be fine as long as the sweeter meats remained untouched...

"My apologies..." disregarding the female, X'yrin returned her full attention to Rancor. In show of good favor, she walked closer to the male and fondly kissed his brow. Surely, like the coyote, he had been lured by the scent of the meat to feast, not chat and by his respectful display, he had garnered more not enough favor to do so. Turning around and brushing her shoulder into her companion's in the process she led them all back to their soils still waiting. One could only hope that more would show; if not to announce themselves again as Family of Sangilak, then to at least find a portion of meat for themselves before the ancestors led the travelers back onto their Endless Path.

It was to his great relief that X’yrin so readily accepted the word from his obsidian lips and asked not a question. He could see the desire for knowledge in her though as the sometimes more subtle knit in her brow was not an uncommon expression. He would have to answer for the coyote at a later time. More likely than not, he would chose then to confess all of the packs he had wronged to his beloved fellow leader then as well. It wasn’t something he looked forward to and that Terra was responsible for bringing about this time prematurely was something he silently blamed her for. But he still did trust the female as such is required to be given an ally in battle.

An affectionate nuzzle to his friend’s neck was given in silent thanks for not erupting furiously at his unforeseen guest. Jaden then found the tender leg of a skinned carcass, what he thought might be elk, and tor at it until it came free. The lovely flavor the fresh kill had was his first taste of the meat and it was divine. The Issum made a mental note to complement his friend on her choice of meats while he carried his morsel over and lay himself down gently in front of Terra. He took the time to pull off a few nice chunks for himself before regarding her, A bold move, comrade. Perhaps more care should be taken when inviting yourself into another canine’s meal?

One at least was angered by Terra's actions. The coyote was fully prepared to flee with the meal she had grabbed, not expecting a welcomed presence. As hungry as she was, as bold as she was, Terra rarely found herself welcomed at such events. Luckily her slippery presence often went unheeded. Surprise did spark in her eyes as Jaden spoke up. He had seemed so set against her last time they had met, as she was mainly coyote in nature and action. It looked like her actions leading the group had done her well. She settled down, happily working through the meat with the acceptance given.

The wolf stepped over to where she laid, joining her with his own choice of meat. Terra dipped her head respectfully before continuing to wolf it down hungrily. The trickster pulled back, giggling a little at his words. Not just canines. I've invited myself to share meals with cats, bears, well, pretty much anything that had food. Usually the best strategy is to take the meat and run. Terra knew her etiquette wasn't the best, but it kept her alive and away from starving, so that was the route she took. Biting down some more pieces Terra looked around the tiny gathering. An awful lot of meat for such a small group. Are pups coming?

X'yrin, huh? What an odd name...

The wolf had just been about to ask if he could join the feast, but his attention was soon divided by another she wolf, not pausing to properly ask permission before diving in to the slices of deliciously juicy meat. With much control he prevented a disgusted snarl at the femme's lack of manners.

He wasn't the only one, though; X'yrin too had turned and half-bounded towards her. But, it seemed, her companion knew this stranger and greeted her warmly. Fiery orbs watched with heightened interest as X'yrin stopped and turned her full attention back on to himself, apologizing in the process. What happened next gave the hulking wolf a little jolt; the she wolf planted a kiss on his forehead with inky black lips, causing his eyes to widen and his face to grow hot.

He had never exactly been good around females...

He forced himself to return to normal and brushed of the good-natured kiss, before saying with a slight quiver in his voice: "Apology not needed, my friend... " Unknowingly, he glanced again over to the other she wolf, giving a little of his annoyance at her through his eyes before returning his gaze to X'yrin. "May I join you in your feast? The smell is overwhelming..." he meant the last bit in a good way, finishing his sentence with a tiny hint at a smile. He could be a gentleman when he wanted to be.

She was not pleased with how the young coyo-female presented herself to the gathering, but she let the behavior slide this once when her companion took the reins to control the situation. While his attention was placed on the smaller female, her amber eyes were kept on the dark hide of their guest, attempting to lure him to where the true gathering took place. “Of course you may join us,” she smiled, pausing for a moment to extend her paw toward the piles of steaming flesh.

Trusting for him to make a meal for himself, she proceeded back to the lain carcass she had previously favored and resumed her careful excavation of its finer meats. While her appetite demanded that she tear the buck apart, she was delicate in her ministrations to keep the hide intact for future use. Practiced claws finely peeled the thick flesh away until the sharpened ends graced unobstructed muscle and moist tendon. Then with a less careful plunge, she dove into its belly, growling contently as she was graced with the warm, sweet liquid. Blindly she searched within its innards for the rough texture organ she desired and earned. Tender to the tongue, filled with the nutrients to sustain life; the most sought after prize for a successful huntress. With a sound snap of flesh she reared back with the moist organ clenched tightly between her teeth. She carried the dripping liver to the side of her fellow leader and placed it next to him. It was a silent acknowledgement of his place within the pack as its pillar of strength and stability. It was a gesture to ensure he prospered as well as a sign of upmost respect. But of course it was not without a playful gesture that she praised him, and took his ear in a light tug before returning to excavate more of the essential organs.

She had not forgotten the question of the young female, but chose not to answer when there was no certainty to offer. There were pups, yes… but would they join the feast? She did not know.

Oh? Jaden wasn’t a fan of coyotes. He generally viewed them as morally unjust and dishonorable. Terra had been no exception, especially after he had learned the first name she had given him was a falsehood. But he had been forced to serve in their assault under the woman’s direction. To the best of his knowledge, all who had fought to free slaves that day still breathed. That initialed that she had served her position well. This alone was worth a fair amount of respect, even if her admitting to thievery and cowardice was diminishing it. His ear flicked with annoyance once again but he held a pleasant guise toward the smaller woman, I’m not sure if the pups will be joining us. They were not in my charge today…

The obsidian male had just cast his gaze to find the woman who he knew held an answer as to where the pups were. She almost always had them accounted for. His thick tail batted happily to see Xyrin was already approaching him. He recognized the liver in her teeth, his favorite delicacy, and stood to receive it. The meaning in her actions didn’t escape him and he showed his gratitude with an affectionate lick to clean her bloodied muzzle and a nip at her tail as she tugged his ear and took her leave.

He returned to his comfortable laying position with new found patients for the coyote. After nipping at his prize tenderly, he returned his gaze to her. These lands are to be claimed by my pack. We will not take kindly to thievery, but you are welcome to visit and we will gladly give you a meal so long as you ask for it.

Terra watched the female step over with a liver, licking her lips before returning to her own meal. So there were pups, but why wouldn't they join in? This meal was for their sake, was it not? Terra couldn't think of another reason for loners to gather such a large meal together. This was a rather strange gathering. Her ears shot up at his next words, almost choking on the meat she'd been eating. Pack? He was in a pack? Claiming territory?

Terra might be reckless, but she had her own code that she followed. Not trespassing was something she'd recently acquired, something Terra had somehow managed to miss in her genes, but avoiding bringing trouble to another's pack, especially one holding friends, was something she did understand. Immediately she stood up, backing away from the meal. There had to be something she could do! Desperately Terra considered what she knew about the area. There's a town close by you can get supplies from if you need it. Just an hour from here. I should go. Turning Terra worked on leaving, feeling terrible for crashing in on a pack feast.

Secui form! LE JOINING!

"Damn! I wasn't invited to such an event? I'm hurt, bunny....Kidding." A rich laughter was to be heard as Ali strolled in, bihued eyes sparkling as he trotted in. Alistair's tail wagged gently, neither high or low as his head was kept in the middle as well. Alistair gave a toothy smile, the scent of metallic scarlet liquid seeping into his nostrils. The mere scent of prey caused his mouth to water as he approached the small group that was forming. Alistair was naturally speaking to X'yrin, eyes slightly narrowed as he sat nearby. "Hey again." His greeting was friendly as he glanced around with excitement, gently butting her shoulder with his head. However, as he bumped her shoulder, he noticed the terribly sad difference of their sizes. Sigh...It was unfortunate, really. His wolf blood may be dominant, but the coyote in him just didn't give up.

"Well, hi. I'm Alistair Gibson." Alistair gave a polite nods to the two males, the sparkle still bright in his witty eyes. However, the other girl (Besides X'yrin) was about to leave. "Hey, why ya leaving? The party is just getting started!" His bark was loud as his tail slapped against the ground, as his tail perked. Alistair glanced at all the meat, that was surely a hell to catch, and how many people. "Quite a lot of food...Did ya catch all this, bunny?" Alistair gave a bark/whistle, or at least, tried to whistle. He found a book once, that explained how to whistle but...He couldn't do it. Pretty disappointing.

"I'm allowed, right, X'y?" Alistair gave his best secui pouty face as he glanced at the apple of his eye; food. Delicious, bloody, meaty...AWOAHFLNG. So yummy...Alistair could practically taste it. Hopefully he was given a good chunk. "Unless you want me to go away..." His ears dropped and his head fell as he acted as pathetic as he could, just for the sake of a good laugh. "Hey! If you want, I can tell a story or something later."

(going to be scarce)

It was odd, really. Being welcomed to a feast with complete strangers... but somehow it felt normal, as though it was instinct.

Automatically, he walked forwards and before he knew what he was doing he dove in to the meat, avoiding the corpse X'y'rin had feasted upon. Crimson blood flowed forth, staining Rancor's stormy gray fur like a slowly flooding sea. It was soft between white fangs concealed by black leathery lips. He barelh even heard the newcomer making his appearance. Eventually, he forced his head to look up, scanning Alistair with fiery eyes. Of course they were narrowed in suspicion, but he couldn't deny him food. He himself had been invited. He couldn't shoo another away.
He noted how small the new secui was compared with the others and himself. Perhaps he wasn't all wolf...?

Heshrugged the thought off mentally as his ears twitched, catching the sound of greeting from the newcomer. In reply, he nodded curtly, before going back to devour the red flesh in front of him. Like he would throw away an oppurtunity like this! Making a mental note to ask why the feast was even here, he carried on eating.

But a guilty feeling washed over him as he shot another suspicious glance at Alistair; he still had no idea why he was suspicious of every person he came across. Guess it was just part of being a wolf...

I am here :3 sorry if it's short

The male was going to do it, after finally finishing his journey. He had returned from the cabin he had once called, to a new place that he was most welcome to become part of. Besides, he smelt food, and he was rather hungry. With his staff and his spear and his sack, he wondered into the area he had been in couple of days ago.

With his linen stitched cloak and Eastern staff, emitting it's echoing rings, he came to the area where the scent of meat was strongest, not only that, but he saw some wolves there, even Xy. He had approached them all "I return." he said as he bowed his head in the common Eastern manner of his, returning upright as he glanced over to the food.

"Might I trouble you for some food?" he asked politely. It had been some time since he last ate, even though he didn't complain due to the food conservations that he had practice during his long journey.

Thana and Anna had met up with Jaden a few days before and had been staying with him since he had asked them to join his new pack. She was happy her love had accomplished so much and was very proud of him. She slept in on accident though when him and X’yrin were going to have the feast. Fearing she would be late, Thana quickly put Anna in her pretty light blue dress and untangled her hair with her fingers. The two of them then hurried down to where the feast was and Thana nodded to Jaden and X’yrin before moving to stand beside her love with a smile on her face. I’m sorry we are late Jaden.

Anna was already growing fond on the dark man and gave him a big, toothy smile when she saw him. The pup looked at all the food in front of her before looking back to Jaden. Can I have some please? Having been a slave before she was given to Thana, Anna was always very polite and respectful.

Thana looked around at the others who were already at the feast and realized there were quite a few males there. She would have to keep her distance since she was still in heat. Hopefully, her scent wouldn’t be too much of a distraction.

ooc: Everyone is here! Big Grin Now let's really bond and party!

While determined bites made quick work of the meat, the savoring tongue did not miss even a droplet of the precious blood. So sweet to taste she growled contently with every morsel and about sang with ecstasy when her tongue graced exterior of the heart. The coveted muscle was her prize for a hunt well done and though it lacked the crucial nutrients of the liver or kidneys, it was a symbolic prize that reminded her fondly of when last she pulled one free. A shame he could not be with her now to savor in the success of a rebirth. Truly, she missed the loving shadow of her mate, the bond they shared and ambitions they strove to fulfill together. But it was not enough to keep him by her side, and the truth would remain that she would never know what took him away from her. Perhaps their love was not enough to endure what had plagued him while he was left alone…

Wrenching the muscle free, she laid down in the crimson pool beside the carcass with auburn locks collecting in the like-colored muck as well. She paid no mind to her state as she delved into the caverns of the tender flesh, for how could one care about their physical appearance when surely a mess would be had during a frenzied feeding. Between sound bites she looked to the already gathered party, smiling fondly as each had their fill, even the young coyote female before she leapt with the sudden news that this gathering was meant for their Family. X’yrin said nothing to contest this, but growled her indifference to the matter. The female had already started eating, there was no sense for her to be off so suddenly. There was easily enough to feed them all… surely some meat could be spared.

Calmly her gaze turned to Rancor as he fed and to him she whined contently. As she lowered her head for another bite, the vocalizations of an excited fellow pulled both ears and head forward in glee. Her tail swung maddeningly behind her as if to propel her to her feet again to greet their colorful companion. “Oh please eat!” she exclaimed with bloodied maw splitting into an excited grin. Gingerly she grabbed the male by his muzzle to direct him toward the meat she had excavated. “Eat! We are glad to have you, my friend. Please eat!”

And he would not be the last to make an entrance. Though their time was initially brief, the autumn she-wolf had developed a fondness for the pale wanderer. He had spoke of travelling though offered his aid in replenishing the caches for a time. She knew the path of the wanderer well, and understood that it was an untamed thing that led one when the urge was profound. She believed this pull to be from the ancestors coupled with one’s own desire for more. She did not blame the wanderer when he left the lands, and in her heart hoped their paths would cross. But to see him return again calling an end to his journey, it was a cause to rejoice and thank the ancestors for their meeting. “I knew there was a purpose for the ancestors meaning for our paths to cross,” she announced as she bound toward the returning wanderer. She reared up on her hind legs to drape her paws atop his shoulders in a makeshift embrace. “It is so good you have returned. It is a reason to celebrate…” then carefully she slipped down to stand upon her own paws again but in such elated spirits one would think she was aloft still with joy.

“All of us gathered is a reason to celebrate. Be it for a meal or each other’s company, our coming together is a reason to be glad. And I hope you all share in this with me…” beaming still, she turned her gaze to her partner and left the male no warning before pummeling playfully into his uninjured side. “Especially you!” she sang happily, aiming to take one of the male’s ears in the process, and very nearly knocking into Thana as she appeared. At the appearance of both the female and her young, X’yrin ceased her onslaught and instead fell to the ground by the meat once more. “Thana!” she greeted while panting lightly. “Please eat with us. We are in the midst of celebration!”

Words – 300+

It was wonderful to see so many faces come to celebrate the begging of something as grand as their pack, even if many of them were strangers to the obsidian alpha. He kept his eyes trained on Terra respectfully while waiting for an answer. What he saw from the little coyote seemed to be shame. Whether rightfully worn or not, it was odd she chose now to find wrong in the actions she had committed. He had accepted her and that should have been enough to quell this, should it not? Regardless, she turned to leave.

Jaden’s maw had fallen open to assure that she was welcome here when he was cut off by a rather obnoxious new member to the feast. He glanced over with annoyance at the voice but couldn’t find words or actions to fit what he saw. Never had the male witnessed such blatant abuse of color on another’s body. He was guilty of dying his fur black where it was otherwise lighter and red before that, but never would he put such bright colors about his figure. It was simply unattractive. This male was part coyote too. Though his size boasted otherwise, his features betrayed his strength and sported weak blood. Unlike Terra, this hybrid had no actions to distract from his disability.

Soon after returning Alistair’s greeting nod with a neutral one of his own, Jaden turned his attention back to Terra. The circus of a canine seemed to know X’yrin, so he would let her deal with it. Please, stay and celebrate with us Terra. There is more than enough for everyone. He then took finished the gifted liver in a few large bites.

Most everyone's attention was then drawn to the golden gatherer of this feast as she spoke joyously. Seeing her so happy had him grinning widely as he stood to acknowledge the group as well. Only a small playful glint in her amber eyes gave warning before the woman rushed into him. He bounced back onto his hind legs with a happy bark and batted at her shoulder playfully with his forepaws.

Thana joined them and the celebration was then perfectly attended. Finding his paws again, Jaden bounced over to the woman and her adorable daughter with luscious black tail lashing excitedly. Don’t worry, He assured her with warm tones. his body brushed against the woman’s optime legs affectionately before nuzzling the young girl now just about at his quadruped height with a smile. Go ahead little one, take all you wish.

Jaden does. Jaden speaks. Jaden thinks.
