The last few weeks of training had really started to pay off; even this soon after starting Neela could feel the difference in her muscles, she was stronger and moved with more grace than she had in a long time. The former of those two attributes was proving useful for her current task, getting the Meria set up for a trip out into the Bay of Fundy for some fishing. It had been a while since Neela had been out to bring some fish back and while nodoby had called her up on it yet, she felt the need to go out and catch something while she had some free time.

Neela’s little dock not far off from the fort was a god spot for her boat. A partially intact house provided a space to store supplies, a half decent pier had been repaired to workable shape and most useful was the large structure by the side of the water. Neela had no clue what the odd, metal human thing was but with some ropes and planks she had set up a pulley system for getting things onto the Meria. Some boards were nailed together to form a platform and then ropes tied onto each corner of the platform, leading into the actual pulley; an old thing Neela had taken with her when she left her first home.

Neela was nearly ready to set off; her nets, poles, bait and other such equipment were stored safely onboard along with a haunch of meat for snacking on once she had everything set up. The last thing she had to load on was some empty barrels to store the catch in. Several were on board already and the three on the platform at the moment would be the last. Tail wagging at the thought of getting going out to sea soon Neela set her legs against the ground, grabbed the rope and started pulling, straining to lift the barrels into the air.
