Keldava was practically bouncing as she made her way through the forest, nostrils flaring every now and then as she checked that she was still following Mahnaya’s scent correctly. In Keldava’s right hand she held a bow, the fruit of her first successful trade! Admittedly she had some awareness that trading for an indistinct favour was probably far from the norm but still, she had traded for the bow and now it was hers. Something she had earned, or would earn as the case was, not something that had been given to her as a gift.

The arrows that had been given to her along with the bow dug into her thigh uncomfortably where she had strapped them alongside the single knife she wore at her thigh – her second knife had been moved to a set of straps on the outside of one of the leather bracers Mahnaya had given her. Keldava would need to get herself a quiver from somewhere, and learn how to make arrows, but those were things that she could work on later.

For now, the pup was excited and looking for her mother, wanting to show off her prize. The bow wasn’t anything particularly special as far as bows went but it was solidly built, good quality and the fact that Keldava had gotten it herself made it all the sweeter. Once again Keldava’s nostrils flared and this time her ears perked up at well, the strength of the scent telling her that Mahnaya was close now! Eager to show her mother the bow Keldava began to pick up speed, accelerating to a jog, and feeling a brief moment of satisfaction as she managed to maintain it without stumbling or slipping (her practise finally seemed to be paying off a bit), she homed in on the scent, tail wagging furiously behind her.

hurr durr

The woman was engaging in the activity she partook of most these days, resting. She was not very far from her home at all and a single pained bark would bring both Temo and Honrin, who were inside conspiring over something, running to see what was wrong and it would take mere seconds for them to reach her. She had found a patch of dappled sunlight in the forest where an old tree had fallen as it's time had come. It was there that she dozed, warmed by the sunshine and cooled by the gentle breeze that struck up in intervals.

The sound of somebody moving towards her however stirred her from her light slumber and she yawned widely, unconcerned about the footsteps, she knew who it was by the scent that fluttered on the brief wind and had known it for a little while. Her daughter was coming to her. She wondered briefly what it was that Keldava wanted before raising her head and barking in her direction. The deep booming noise rolled away from her and she laid back satisfied that Keldava had heard her.
