KOHAKU AMAROK

000

Dated the 3rd

Green frightened eyes looked around as Kohaku stood nervously close to the edge of the pack's boarders. Several yards ahead of the young pup were the markers for the Cour des Miracles boarders, the focus for Kohaku most recent training. Amy had taught him how to speak, how to get information from others and had dropped him off to test his skills and abilities. It was his mission to spend a week in the pack, learn all he could, and leave without anyone even realizing who he was. For the next week, he was on his own.

Kohaku stood, frightened and alone. His body shook as he thought over the consequences of failure. The could kill him if they found out his mission. On top of that, everything seemed strange and new to the pup. It was his first time on his own, and he didn't even have the comfort of smelling like himself. Amy had scrubbed him clean and disguised his scent so that no one could recognize him, not even himself. He smelled like the forest that Amy had left him in, like water and mud.

Sucking in a big gulp of air, Kohaku tentatively moved forward. His steps were shaky, his ears and tail low. The closer he got to the boarder, the more nervous the tiny male became. At last, he was standing directly over the mark. With an amazing amount of effort and will power, Kohaku took a single, frightened step over the line. He shut his eyes and ducked down to the ground, expecting someone to chase him off, hurt him, or scream at him. The only sound that drifted through the air were the mournful cries of the cicada's.

No one was stopping him, no one was even trying. Kohaku's ears lifted and he stood, feeling empowered and triumphant. Slowly, the pup's grey and white tail rose, shaking when he realized that he was one step further to completing his mission. No one could stop him. Kohaku drew up to his full hight, and dramatically proceeded across the boarder. A wave of confidence rushed over him as he walked several feet unhindered into the pack. Looking back, Kohaku couldn't help but feel proud of himself... until he ran face first into a tree.

Yelping, Kohaku scrambled back. His head throbbed and his pride was injured again. So much for a quiet infiltration.

So glad I saw this before I went ahead and posted haha! :: 6+

Heiro shifted once more and now that he was back on his four feet for a little bit, he couldn’t help but admit that it felt nice. His body ached in a good way with all the new muscles he had discovered in his Optime form and the usage of body parts he had ignored before. Now he was extremely aware of his paws though his strong fingers were gone, that had to be the strangest thing as he watched with astonished eyes as the digits became the Pangea of his paw pads. He had noticed with surprise that shifting back didn’t itch or hurt as it had the first time. It was most likely due to the panic he had felt when he thought he was alone out in the grasslands, but in the safety of his pack lands, he had been able to relax his mind and body with his family nearby. The shift back had taken about 10 minutes, still a bit slow, but his parents assured him that it’d get easier with practice. With the energy spent, he’d have to rest another full day before he could walk on his two legs again.

A sense of purpose had gripped him in the morning when he realized now that he could shift, it was time for him to look forward to the adult routines of life in the pack. When he was much younger he used to trail behind Niro and was told about patrolling borders. Apparently this was incredibly important for the Court, they needed to keep their borders secure and report any odd occurrences to the higher ups. Heiro liked to think this was something he could do, and though he was still months away from becoming an adult, he felt it was almost his duty to begin this training as he had shifted well before his time. It wouldn’t hurt to have another body by the borders and besides, he was no longer afraid of the outside territories from all the exploring he’d done. He was sure his step grandfather would appreciate his efforts. So before morning meal had even been served, Heiro slipped out of the hotel and quickly made his way to the borderlands.

Four stocky legs, his baby weight was much more apparent in lupine form, brought him to the borders by noontime. No matter, he knew he had a good gate in Optime and would’ve gotten there faster, but even trying to force a shift made his head ache. Like mommy and daddy said, he’d have to wait. His tongue was lolling to the side in exhaustion and happiness when he assumed a military like stance and began to walk the invisible line of piss, adding his own scent when the urge came along. The Prince was walking along, tail up, shoulders raised, and head held high when his black slicked ears picked up an unfamiliar sound above the drone of the cicadas. A trespasser! He said with excitement under his breath, just as his tired paws mustered more energy to run forward. Mounting a small hill, his sky blue eyes scanned the bottom of the slope where a pup about the same age as him stood looking a bit dazed.

His thoughts of protecting the border immediately evaporated as he rushed over to the other immediately dropping into a play bow and barking excitedly at the stranger who smelled of none just like Ro. All he had was Tasha and Ro, who the heck was this new playmate! Hey! M’name’s Heiro, what’s yours? Wanna play? Where’d you come from? You don’ smell like anyone...we could play tag, I like tag! A series of questions and statements poured from his alabaster mouth. The jubilation of finding another young wolf had immediately robbed him of any defenses he possessed.

KOHAKU AMAROK

Kohaku's head throbbed and he sat for over a minute just waiting till the sensation passed. Bumping into trees was not fun, although the young pup seemed to do it all the time. Kohaku stood slowly, his head still pouring slightly. He had a job to do. He needed to infiltrate the pack and get as much information as possible from them. All he had to do was find a sympathetic adult who would view him as a helpless and lost puppy. It should be easy... so long as they didn't decide to kill him instead.

The sound of rushing footsteps and the scent of a stranger startled Kohaku and he jumped, turning around as quickly as he could to face the stranger. Lucky enough, the canine that found him was not an angry adult, but a puppy about the same age as him. The other dipped into a play bow, his black tail wagging quickly as he barked the way Amy did. Kohaku mirrored the other boy, adding in his own half barks and playful growls.

Instead of playing though, the other just sent a barrage of questions towards Kohaku. The sheer number of questions made the colorful pup's head spin and he decided to lie down so that he could process them all. Um...I'm Kohaku and, um... He had to ask question, he needed to get information. Although playing would be great, he had to focus on his mission. "I'm ah... I'm lost. And ah, so... yeah, what pack is this? This is a pack... right?" His words were awkward, and the pauses long as he tried to think of something clever to say.

Heiro’s body vibrated with excitement as his whipping tail knocked him off balance a few times. The new puppy wanted to play too and barked back at him, only goading on the young Catori’s antics. Yet after his questions were asked in a energetic burst of breath, his new playmate lay down in the dust. A sympathetic whine emanated from the black and white child before he plopped himself down on his belly, front paws and nose a few inches away from the stranger’s face. His tail still wagged back and forth, randomly beating the earthen ground now and then, but he kept his ice blue eyes on the puppy’s face, eager to soak up any information he could get on him and wanting him to be his best friend as soon as possible.

The multicolored wolf pup introduced himself and explained his situation offering his own question to the black and white hybrid when he suddenly spoke up. Koh-hawk-coo! Heiro practically screamed back, even happier that his new friend had no ‘th’ or L sounds in his name. This was something he could pronounce, and he was very proud of it. He wriggled on the ground until he was on his back looking at the wolf pup upside down. A fresh batch of giggles escaped his mouth before he rolled back to his stomach, the seriousness of Kohaku’s situation finally registering in his brain.

Aww you’re lost? His eyes darted back to the wilderness on the other side of the invisible boundary lines before turning his gaze back to Ko. This is Kor des Mircles! Close enough, but he exclaimed his pack’s name with pride, rising to his four paws once more. Do you have a mommy and daddy? Heiro asked in a calmer tone. Der’s lots of families here da could take you in if not, Hei suggested, secretly hoping his new friend was a loner so he’d have a forever playmate.

KOHAKU AMAROK

Dated the 3rd

This was a lot harder than Kohaku thought it would be. Really, he would have been happy just playing around and making friends with the black and white pup. The other's energy was infectious and made Kohaku's bicolored tail thump on the ground. They two sat awkwardly close, but it mattered little to the pup. He placed his own head own the ground and stared at the Heiro's bright blue eyes. His eyes seemed familiar, but Kohaku couldn't quite place where he had seen that color before. A memory tugged at the back of his mind, but never surfaced. He decided to ignore the feeling in favor of his mission.

Luckily for him, Heiro was quick to believe Kohaku's deception. Despite his stuttering and inability to find good words, he was somehow able to open up a line of information. "Yeah," he said a little too happily. "I'm lost. Really, lost." Kohaku listened to the packs name, it was different from what Amy had said. He didn't like to second guess Amy, but Heiro was from the pack so he must know better. "Kor des Mircles," he repeated. "Um, who's the Alpha? I ah... I might have heard of the pack."

The conversation turned to family, a sore subject for the puppy. Amy was his family, but not really. She wasn't his real mommy. His real mommy had abandoned him, given him away, and he hated her for it. Placing his head on his paws Kohaku looked sadly away, his tail still in the dirt and his ears low. "I have a family. They just... aren't here. Tell me about your family."
