A Knights Promise

Shadow was on the move. He was looking to find Amy to put to rest things that didn't need to be present for when that time came. He was not a slave and she needed to see that and some time had passed and if she was as far along as he thought then she would need the held. He however could not find her and was instead following old scents and trails and paths that she had taken when he had traveled at her side when he owed her a favor. He lifted his head and smelled and picked up the Cercatori d'Arte boarder and he smiled a little. He knew he had no enemies in any of the packs and it was nice knowing that he could travel and the only thing he needed to worry about was a bear, cougar, mountain lion of rogue wolf/coyote. He stopped as he looked around and he knew that odds were that Amy did not pass this way lately so he turned to head back and follow the trail to another pack territory and perhaps he would have better luck then.

"You may not care about anyone or anything but you and yours but you will know that others care about you, you are not alone like you think."

Dalgina never went far from the pack. Not anymore. The renewed fear of attack had brought back nightmares from her childhood. Taru and Ovi had done their best to sooth her, but the wolf had been put on edge. Tehu's incessant requests to go hunting had finally worn her down though, and the kestrel was now soaring freely in the sky outside of the pack. Absently she traced her tattoo, wishing that she could feel the courage that she had thought the tattoo would give her.

Spotting a rabbit Dalgina whistled, directing Tehu's attention. The kestrel turned, eying the prey. He hovered for a moment, and dived down. The rabbit tried to run, but Tehu was an excellent hunter, and killed it swiftly. Tehu chirped his triumph as Dalgina came to collect, tail swaying. Spotting a black wolf she waved, not recognizing him as she continued along. This trip had been a good idea. She was much more relaxed than she had been before. No worries.

Shadow saw a dark woman pass by and he saw the kill and he smiled lightly but then he stopped as he slowly came to realize who it was that just waved at him. He smiled big and rather than use her name he knew she would remember him better if he called her what he had when she was but a pup. He stood tall and his tail moved quickly behind him as he looked to her, she had quickly grown on him last they met. He bowed low and wondered how long it would take for the girl to remember the knight that helped her save a whole kingdom of flowers. Back then all seemed perfect and all was but he couldn't dwell on it now. He was working on getting over his pains and making things right and this was a moment to be happy.

"Hello again princess"

The giant wolf had stopped his movement, Dalgina's ears flicking back. Her steps were quicker now, wanting to get the kill and head away from the stranger. She was being brave stepping out of the pack after what had happened. Pain had followed Dagina from a young age, though she didn't always know it. The trust she had held had been shattered, and now Dalgina didn't know what to do, trying to live a life that had fallen apart.

Picking up the rabbit she held it close to her chest, Tehu fluttering to land on her shoulder. Princess? She didn't know him. Hi. Tehu spread his wings, shouting an insult involving a duck and how he would combine them. Dalgina moved carefully, her steps making barely a sound as she tried to edge around him and start heading for the pack again. She didn't know this wolf, and was afraid that he would hurt her.

Shadow looked to her and he noticed the insults and he watched the girl move around him as if he were some kinda enemy now, obviously something had happened to change her way, she was not that imaginative , free spirited pup anymore. Like him she had been wounded by something life threw at her and he would need to get to make her remember if she was going to say more to him then Hi and Bye."Dalgina, it's me Shadow....you remember, long ago, you were a pup and princess....you were made the flower goddess of a whole kingdom of flowers, me and you played all day and then we parted and you went back home. I was your night...sir.." He sighed lightly"Sir Tulip head...."

Shadow watched the girl closely hoping that his tail would make her remember, she was so small then and odds are she would not remember him but he hoped she would, it would be sad to lose the memories of someone that was so free and innocent.

The dead rabbit was clutched closer as her name was spoken by the stranger, wide brown eyes staring. Not know this wolf! Tehu's words were sharp, trying to keep Dalgina safe. She was still rather fragile after what had happened. Tehu hadn't been with Dalgina when they had met before, so he didn't know this dark male, just that Dalgina was afraid. Her eyes widened with recognition at the last part, remembering how excited she'd been when she'd first seen flowers burst forth.

Sir Flowerhead. Her voice was soft, smiling shyly over at him. She hadn't remembered right away, but now Dalgina remembered the gentle wolf that had consented to play with the young pup. She had been so tiny and curious, with too many questions. She felt very old in comparison to them. So many things had happened since them. Many of them things that had scarred her mind, and left her afraid.

He smiled and nodded and even bowed deep like he had done so long ago and then slowly he stood."Yes, that was it, Flowerhead....much cooler than Tuliphead" He chuckled lightly as he watched her expression change from fear and uncertainty to a beautiful smile that he remembered she had as a pup. He didn't move forward knowing that something had caused her features to fear him like she did so he would ask first before moving."Might Sir Flowerhead have a hug...I promise you will feel better and maybe your little friend wont shoot so many bad things towards me? Only if you want to my princess...I will not force anything from you."

The male lit up, smiling at her small glimmer of recognition. It wasn't much of a memory, a very small part of the fragment that she'd kept from when she was a child. Kiara was the dominant figure in those far off memories. She missed the white wolf. Maybe she should go up and see her soon. It would be nice to see her, find out how the puppies were doing. She should do that soon. As soon as she got the courage to leave the pack and feel safe about it.

Giggling Dalgina shook her head. Both names were pretty bad in her mind. How young had she been to come up with something as silly as that? Her eyes widened at his words. He'd understood what Tehu had said? Not many did. That's why he got away with saying so many of those things. Shaking her head she started walking towards the pack once more, Tehu shouting Fawkes' dirty words now, the ones she'd been told to never repeat. Looked like she'd have to ask Taru how to make Tehu stop saying that stuff.

Shadow watched her turn away and he did not follow, these were not his lands and these were another packs territory, He did not feel like being yelled at or worse and Dalgina did not invite him so he would stand there and wait for her to tell him to follow or she could just leave, He had seen a smile from her and the pain before it, hopefully seeing him would be enough to help with whatever her pain, that was if she intended on leaving him there.

Dalgina returned quietly to the pack, trying to push out the strange meeting from her mind. She didn't quite remember him, the memory of the game fuzzy. The trusting nature she'd held back then was completely shattered now. It had been fun, when she was a child. That was a long time ago though. Now she was an adult, and had to face reality. Where family wasn't forever, and a single instant could change everything. Tehu chirped in her ear, trying to talk to her, as she slowly returned to Taru's home, ready to snuggle into her arms and let all her fears be washed away.
