"Kipp, get away from there. You'll get trampled." Ink scolded as he finished buckling Jericho's saddle onto her back. The tiny cat came crawling backwards out of one of the stalls, the horse in it belonging to Saul. The kitten mewled an apology and scurried her way over to Ink's side, where he paused long enough to scoop her up onto his shoulder. She settled down there, sprawling across the back of his neck and resting there as if she'd been there the entire time. "You should be more careful around horses, Kipp. They're much bigger than you and their hooves hurt."
The trio made their way outside after Ink finished with Jerri's tack. It was time to ride, again. He shimmied his way onto the mare's back and Kipp got comfortable on the back-most section of the saddle, between the saddlebags. "You holdin' on, kitten?" She'd ridden with him a few times already, but today they'd be doing some actual work. Jericho was pregnant, so riding the mare would only be a small part of this. He rode along until they reached the end of the pasture, where the old fence had been toppled over by something the night before. "Alright, down we get."
The cat stayed put on Jerri's back as Ink slid off. He clicked for Jerri to stay close and she followed him over to the broken fence, curiously sniffing at the part of it that still hung on to the rest. "Sheesh. Talk about your morning chores, eh?" The mare snorted in agreement, lifting her head away and lowering it back down to the grass to graze. Ink got to work, hauling out a hammer and long nails. He set the wooden planks back into their original spots, those that were still whole, and went about the task of putting it all back together again. It would take him a while, but with any luck, the fence would look as good as new.
