yo, so it's going to be a week or so in the future like, October 1st

In Character

Though Mayflower was always wandering around one place or another, she didn't know anyone, anyone at all. Probably because she was too shy to bother to get to know anyone besides her brother. The horrifying journey from her and Helios' home and the death of her parents was traumatic, and she didn't really speak to anyone because of this, being too afraid to go out into the world. She hadn't always been this shy, perhaps a bit quieter than the others, but she had retreated into her shell of fear when the disease struck.

But today she wasn't thinking about that, no, she was just trying to find somewhere to think or something, think about which of the wonderful tribes she and her brother were going to join. She hadn't seen him in awhile.. might as well try to figure out where he happened to be at the time someday, not now though, she was looking for solitude. Remaining in her canine form, the dog trotted about, blue merle splotched fur glistening slightly as her amber eyes, surrounded by blots of carmel, searched the area for any other creatures lying in the distant shadows, lurking unseen and waiting to pounce. Though, she was just thinking out of fear, most likely.

Frustration nipped at Adrian's heels like an undisciplined pup. He couldn't stand not being able to help the pack. Adrian had helped during the storm, rescuing those caught in the storm, and afterward, helping to clean up the wreckage and debris. However, now that everyone had started rebuilding, Adrian was useless. Building and construction had always been Hotaru's forte. And even she, with her blindness, was still helping to rebuild. Adrian wanted to scream, just so he had something to do. His musical prowess didn't give him an advantage at the moment. So he figured that the only way he could help right now was to get out from under everyone's feet. So he had left the pack and headed south west. He knew that no matter how much he paced around his house and sang, he would never be able to drown out the sound of the construction. So he had went somewhere he couldn't hear it.

And as always he brought his recorder, which Hotaru had carved for him, Shaw's flute, which Adrian he kept by his side since learning who it had belonged too, and his guitar. His recorder and Shaw's flute were by his waist and his guitar was hanging in front of his chest from the strap around his neck. He held it so it didn't bump into him and hurt him or itself. With that Adrian was prepared to sit and thinking somewhere about what he could do to help out the pack and how he could do it. He thought about going for supplies. Maybe he could ask Skye for the caravan. The water would have to recede back into the ocean before he could make the trip but the pack was bound to be light on supplies after all of this. He toyed with the idea in his mind as he walked.

Adrian caught the scent of someone else as he stopped and inhaled deeply. Yes, there was a female around here somewhere. Adrian could smell her. He started walking again, heading in the direction of the scent. When he got close enough that he could see the canine on four legs he smiled and waved, calling out a polite, "Hello there, as he walked. Adrian was a friendly wolf, who loved others. He had a good people personality, with the fact that he often made others smile and laugh.

Being smaller than others was a preference of Mayflower's, as her personality matched with her small demeanor. Even in her more human-like apperance she was only just an inch above five feet. The austrailian shepherd jumped at the sound of a voice, which was much louder than her own measely squeaks. The childish female, not wanting to seem as though she was the odd one out, shifted into her optime form, which was the one the other creature held at present time.

"Hello, she squeaked in response, shoulders hunched over slightly. Her stature gave a thin explination of her personality, as she always tried to appear small. The only time she might not do so is if she were proudly walking around with her brother Helios, but she had not seen him for many, many days. Where he was, she did not know, but worrying of that wasn't for the present, as she doubted that they were in dire need of eachother to survive.

Daring to step forwards, Mayflower lowered her head, lower paws stepping gingerly on the leaf and twig strewn ground so that she might not startle herself and step on a twig as she so often did, but the canine was very nible. Mayflower, breaking the silence, sneezed, hopping backwards at the noise that held such a high octave. She looked at her muzzle, and the only way to do so was to go cross-eyed, which made her look much more pathetic than she did so. Timidly, she raised a hand to brush away a beetle that'd crudely landed on her dirty pink and black nose, blinking and looking back at the stranger, still hunched over so that she seemed even smaller than her stature of five foot one.

The wait while she change to her two legged form was a welcome one. It gave Adrian a while to think about what this female could be doing out here. She didn't smell of a pack so Adrian assumed she was a loner out here all by herself. When she was done changing Adrian took in the smaller wolf with a warm smile. She was over two feet shorter than him, which meant that Adrian towered over her unintentionally. It didn't help that she tried to make herself look smaller. Adrian didn't understand why she didn't hold her head up and meet his eyes with her own. Then it struck him that she must be timid and shy. The big wolf heard her squeak out a greeting in return to his own and smiled again, trying to make her feel more comfortable in front of the big wolf.

When she sneezed Adrian was surprised by the high sound. He gave a soft chuckle. But when the bug landed on her nose and she went crossed eyed, Adrian thought he was going to die. He couldn't help the deep laughter that rose from his diaphragm at how funny it looked. It wasn't a mean laugh though. Adrian would never laugh at someone unless he didn't like them. And he didn't know this female enough to dislike her. No, he laughed out of amusement, hoping that she understood that. It was a few seconds before he caught his breathe enough to smile and take a deep breathe. Then he looked at her with a grin, "Forgive me, that was just very amusing. I'm Adrian. Adrian Kido. And who are you?"The wolf asked, cocking his head to the side with a smile. Adrian was always up for meeting new people and this would give him something to keep his mind off of how useless he would be at home.

After Adrian had finished laughing at the odd events that'd befallen her, a salty tear dribbled down her cheek. "It's okay," she responded in the same, squeaky vocals she'd used before. "And I'm Mayflower Kowl," she continued, attempting to straighten up a tad bit so that she was at her full, yet still awfully short height. Her flopped ears rose up for a second, before dropping back down to the sides of her face. She sniffled quietly, eyes squinted up a bit.

"It's nice to m-meet you," stuttered the she-wolf, attempting to raise her voice to a higher volume, and perhaps a lower pitch - though that was a highly unreasonable request. Silently, she shuffled her paws on the ground, standing with her legs locked together, hands rising to cover the bridge of her muzzle so that it was protected from other attacks by some other crude beetle.

He grinned and nodded, "It is nice to meet you as well Mayflower. You have a pretty name." Adrian said. "A pretty name for a pretty female. He said without shyness. Adrian didn't have any problem with telling a female she was pretty to her face. He often flirted with females, even though it rarely lead anywhere. "And a pretty female such as yourself shouldn't try to make herself appear small and weak. You should stand up tall and proud." Adrian grinned at her, as he went and sat down on a tree stump. He took his guitar from around his neck and set it on his lap, lazily plucking at the strings to make sure it was tuned right. Luckily it was and Adrian grinned down at it before looking up at her with a smile. "You are really pretty." He said, trying to reassure her that he meant what he said.

that's a lot of 'pretty's lol

In Character

The tips of the female's floppy ears grew rather hot as he blabbed on about how pretty she obviously was, if she even was pretty, but Mayflower mainly refraimed from calling herself so. The blue merle canine blinked, nothing but a silence rising from around her still form. Her amber eyes watched as Adrian got out his guitar and plucked at a few strings, removing her slender-fingered hands from the top of her muzzle and clasping them in front of her stomach, watching silently before finally parting her jaws to speak.

"That's a beautiful guitar you have there," she whispered bashfully, the corners of her lips tugging upwards in a sheepish smile. Taking in what he had said earlier, Mayflower sat up just a bit, straightening her back somewhat. Perhaps she shouldn't take "advice" from the male, but he seemed reasonable enough, but Mayflower wasn't sure she should be assuming things too quickly.

Adrian beamed as she commented on his guitar. "Thank you. I love all of my instruments." He said, admiring the guitar himself. Then he strummed a few chords and hummed a faint tune along with it. He look at her with a sparkle in his eyes and smiled, "Want me to play you something?" He asked. He noted that she sat up straighter and grinned, "That is better." He said with a sheepish smile.

He strummed his guitar again and sang out a note, then he went back to humming as he closed his eyes and swayed to the music. Adrian loved his music because it was how he expressed himself. He had never been good with emotions so he had used his music to show them. And he had learned how to show them better through music. Right now he was in a good mood, which was why he was humming a happy tune and giving Mayflower a happy smile.

Floppy merle blue ears perked up with interest as Adrian started strumming on his guitar. Amber eyes surrounded by carmel splotches interestly watched as his fingers picked at the strings stretched across the instrument, greatly impressed when he sung out a wonderous sounding note along with strumming.

"Beautiful, Mayflower breathed, gripping her bony knees with slender hands, sucking in a breath so that she might be able to enjoy the music without the rattling of her breathing in and out disrupting it. Quietly, she exhaled, finding that holding her breath was difficult. A smile curled across her elegantly shaped maw, muzzle turned downwards slightly as she continued to watch the much larger canine, un-blinking eyes watching with extreme interest.

Adrian was enjoying Mayflower's attention. Adrian loved it when his music affected others. And right now she was caught up in its spell. Adrian started strumming the chords to a happy song he knew. At first he just hummed the tune to the song but when it hit the chorus he started to sing. He closed his eyes and let the music pour out of his soul. Adrian had a smile on his face as he sang, enjoying the feeling of knowing that he was bringing something magical to life.

As Adrian hit the chorus a second time he opend his eyes and meant hers. He grinned at her, a toothy grin, as he played. He could see that she was captivated and he loved that. He let his singing fade back into humming as he again let the guitar lead the music. He loved the changing between his voice and his guitar. One could lead while the other back up and then they would swtich. Adrian just loved music in general, and at times like this, it was more than obvious.

Rubbery lips curled back in a grin, eyes closing breifly in a short blink to rest the canine's eyes, as she'd tired of keepin them open. Mayflower quietly brought her hands up, applauding almost silently as he continued playing, smiling a toothless smile as she normally did.

Lips parted in awe as he met her gaze, hands clasping together after a few moments. Mayflower set them quietly in her lap, listening intently again to the wonderful music that Adrian played. Mayflower could only play the flute, though not very good even if she'd been doing so since childhood. She always treasured the little wooden thing her brother had carved for her.

Adrian's smile progressively grew as he watched Mayflower's growing joy. It was obvious she was enjoying the music, and that made Adrian enjoy it even more. He continued singing for a few more minutes until the song came to an end. As he let the final note ring out, he let it hang, before taking in a breath and smiling. "What do you think?" He asked, grinning.

Adrian had his own wooden recorder, carved by his sister. He loved the instrument, though he saved it only for playing on rare occasions. And then he had Shawchert's metal flute. He loved that flute as well, though he played it much more than the recorder. Adrian loved his music in general. He strummed the guitar one last time and then he set it to the side, grinning as he looked at Mayflower. "So little flower, did you like it?" He asked, giving her a nick name that he felt suit her. He liked it. And he was just a big flirt.

"That was beautiful!" she exclaimed, far louder than she normally would have spoken. The merle blue canine lifted her hands and applauded rather enthusiastically, a grin spread wide across her elegantly shaped muzzle, darkly colored damp nose twitching slightly. "Bravo, bravo!" she continued, still smiling joyously as she spoke. "You play instruments much better than I, my brother Helios carved me a flute when we were young but I can't play it that well.." she stated, narrow shoulders rolling in a shrug as she lowered her slender hands to her lamp, a broad smile returning to her acute face as she heard a new "nickname" Adrian had came up with. Must be one of the biggest flirts in his pack, she noted, chuckling lightly.
