There was no reason for her to have wandered from the packlands except the fact that she did. The multihued girl was quick on her feet as she approached the old lands where her brother resided. She could sense the changes in the scent of the pack as well as some of the members. Firefly wasn't exactly sure what had happened but she was mildly interested in finding out.

Soft padding paws moved across the edge of their territories, not the same ones she remembered last, but she could still detect the scent of her silbing. Smiling slightly to herself she sighed and walked the edge of the packlands, trying to see if anyone was even along the propery. She could see the mansion from where she stood but even on tiptoes she couldn't catch any movement along the lands.

Grumbling to herself she sat at the edge of the lake and began to skip stones across the surface, waiting in the growing twilight as the soft sound of the skipping rocks met her ears. She was beginning to grow annoyed with the world, herself included. Haku hadn't showed his face, almost making her believe that she had been right but yet she was still a coward that couldn't come face to face with the subleader to find out the truth. Clitching her fingers around the smooth flat rock she held she closed her eyes against the anger that was building once more in her soul. Why oh why did that man have the ability to make her do the unexpected, this wasn't the Firefly she knew.

hi!

It was high, blue eyes scanned the ground below, it almost blurred between the limbs she had scaled to reach her current height. The wind blew through her fur, when on the ground there was little to no breeze. But up among the changing and dying leaves the gusts were thicker and drew her mane off and away from her neck. Eyes returned from the distant ground, back her current altitude. The large branch was sturdy and a wide comfortable seat. It cradled her body, returning any sense of security she may have lost while scanning the world below.

Such an oak would always be a friend to the small female, its limbs and foliage a haven and sacred place for relaxation and meditation. There were to many reasons to count why she felt such fondness for the barked brethren. Even on the darkest day she found comfort in they constant strength. Where the faith and reliance on the motionless creatures developed was unknown, but her earliest memories were of her father teaching her all their different species.

The peace was short lived, though in her daydreaming state of mind she could have missed all of the happenings below. Beside the vast lake she could hear a disturbance in its surface, almost as if some beast was casting a fishing line, repeatedly. Eyes closed, Anu waited for it to pass. When it didn’t her curiosity increased until she was leaning down, watching the shore. What she found was something she didn’t expect.

Ears perked, and the fur along her back rose. The figure was different, unlike any of her packmates. Without taking time to think she descended from her perch, hopping to the ground with a thud. She needed only to take a few steps to clear the distance between them. Anu took in her scent, unrecognizable, it made her even wearier. Though there was no true threat Anu was cautious, but maybe she sought to join their pack.

“Hi.”

Her voice was clear, but held a silent question. What are you doing here? He stance was strait, even though her height was shorter then the stranger. She stood among the rest of the trees that lined the shore, silent and concrete solders always backing her.

Firefly had hoped that it was her brother that would have found her first, she missed him, though she probably wouldn't admit it right now. The soft voice that met her with the questioning aire was not Kansas' and what little hope she might have had for visiting her sibling seemed to be crushed. It was ok, nothing really seemed to be going herway anymore. Ignoring the woman for a moment she skimmed the last two stones atop the lake, watching the swift skips across the still surface before gravity took over the magical sight and with one last plop the lake stole the stone to it's watery depths.

Turning her emerald orbs back to the lady she could tell that she was one of the members of this new pack, this new pack that her brother resided with now. She wanted to know what had happened to the old pack, where her adopted sister and brother were.. but she wasn't for certain if she really wanted to ask anyone other than those she knew... and even Naniko was at odd with asking.. she knew she was family.. but the two children of the Matriarch were lost on eachother. So queer, to be strangers in your own family.

She nodded to the lady and greeted her in turn. "Hello.." She knew she was still outside their borders so technically she wasn't in any sortof trouble, but lingering on borders was still a questionable approach to finding someone. She knew she should have just called for Kansas, but she really didn't want the whole world to know she was looking for him, wasn't she suppose to be the strong and dangerous one, always looking for trouble and walking on the dark side of life. Flicking her bangs back from her face she continued. "So... what happened to the last pack that lived here.." She was rather curious as to how a totally new pack appeared but with members she still knew, though there were some missing as well. That much she could tell.

sorry for slowness.

Anu took the moments of silence to take in the female. Slow but short breaths drew in her scent, different then any she could remember. It was foreign and from that she assumed it was far. Her curiosity bubbled within her head, and the questions bloomed and grew as she stood.

Blue eyes danced over the multi colored pelt, a coat that was similar to her own. As the moments passed the small fey was unsure if the newcomer had heard her, but it only took another second of patients for the other to turn and address her. Jade eyes peered back into pools of cobalt, and the fey thought of her mate instantly.

Her mind was brought back to the present when the other spoke. Taking in her stance Anu found that this one did not seem to question her presence teetering on the Crimson boarder. Anu hoped that she herself looked as confident. A smile wrapped itself around her face, though she could not hide the tentativeness that sat behind her eyes.

“They formed a new one, Twilight Vale and Shadowed Sun are now Crimson Dreams.” In any case she would make it known that the two were now one, stronger and larger. Anu watched as she leaned against the nearest tree, enjoying the support it gave her. “Are you looking to join?” She still hoped that this might be a new member in the making.

Firefly turned her orbs to the woman before her as she seemed to try and find the right answer for Firefly's question. She smiled slightly as the woman informed her that the pack had merged with another to become bigger and stronger.. when Firefly herself knew that Shadowed Sun had barely had enough packmembers to survive on their own when she'd taunted and teased about their borders. She nodded at the girls words and chuckled at the thought of the two forming a stronger more powerful pack with the tiny handful that Shadowed Sun had to offer. It really was a pathedic thought. "I know of Shadowed Sun.. they didn't seem like much more than some scattered loners last I heard." She flicked her eyes to the other and shrugged. It really wasn't her care that this new pack thought they had to prove they were big and bad to some single character.

Firefly watched the ripples that washed against the shore a moment before turning her eyes back to the woman, the question she'd asked was a serious one but Firefly had no means for serious business today. She just laughed and shook her head sadly. "No no, This place may be to my twin's likings.. but it ain't home to me..." She didn't exactly mean the words to be insulting but she figured in the end it would turn out thatway.

so sorry, i suck

Anu always wondered about indifferent visitors. She let her eyes wander, and watched this one closely taking in all the postures and the actions that she preformed. The shrug, and her nonchalant tone she let escape her mouth; the relaxed figure she held all spoke to Anu. She found it curious that one beast would walk long the ground of other, and think little of it. She of course wasn’t the territorial type, and asked simple easy to answer questions, but those that found little need to explain themselves made her want to scratch her head. To feel such pure indifference to another, like the male she met from Inferni was certainly puzzling.

Their all family here, if you had any acquaintances you were concerned about.” To Anu it meant they were safe and happy, no longer drifting through life, as it looked like this shewolf was. If Anu should have been insulted, she felt sorry for the fey instead. It was obvious that there was sadness in her life, such that she carried with her always, and could not help but place on others. “Were you meeting them, I don’t want to intrude.” Her voice was polite, diplomatic if anything else.

Firefly raised her eyes to the stranger for a moment as she herself began to wonder. The bronze and gold girl knew that the pack here was family, she just didn't care to know her family as well as others often did, just Kansas. Her emerald eyes once more met those of the other woman as she simply stated. "I know, but I don't need to find out about them all.. just one." She flicked her eyes back towards the packlands as she sighed. It was obvious that Kansas wasn't on border patrol today and she wasn't going to get lucky like last time. Nudging a few pebbles along their way over the edge of the bank to a watery grave she watched the murky waters gobble the stone up.

As Anu asked her if she was meeting a packmember Firefly just shook her head and admitted. "No.. I just thought Kansas would find me.. " Kansas had always had time for Firefly in the past and she him.. but in this whole new world with new packs and different friendships and paths they walked it seemed like the past was going to stay the past and she'd be lucky to get a quick glimpse of him from time to time in passing. She was more than a little disappointed but her words were all that really let it show this time.

They sized each other up, the female way. Taking in coat and eye color, viewing how they held themselves, and how sure their voice was, unlike males who looked for size, tone and level of strength. The questions formed and grew behind her eyes, leaning against a sturdy tree she fought to understand from the little words they shared how this one ticked.

Kansas, of course the ivory male of Savina’s heart was this ones twin. The thought reminded her they had yet to exchange names. She pushed it aside, with the more pressing thought of her brother. No, he wouldn’t be traveling this way, not at the current hour. He was most likely with the shadowed fey Savi, exchanging kind and whispered words.

“Twins sometimes have a special bond, do you share such a connection?” Maybe she would give a little more of herself, allowing Anu a greater peak and maybe answers to at least one of her many questions.

Firefly had long been absent from her siblings life, the pack she resided in wasn't all that far but her world seemed to spin on a whole other axis than the world he lived in. She was wreckless and wild while he was a gentle and wonderous soul. The girl tilted her head to the side and eyed the woman who she knew by now was examining everything about her, attempting to figure out how she ticked. The tawny and bronze youth wished her luck silently, no one as of yet had come close to figuring her out, even her brothers had just resorted to believing that she was who she was and did what she pleased.

She examined the waters of the lake silently as the question came down upon her ears. She paused in her scan of the banks as she thought hard about that. She could remember growing up that she'd felt ghost like pains and emotions, generally when she slept or was daydreaming, she'd believed that it had all been just that, the lucrid world of dreams but perhaps it wasn't. She flicked her ears back and shrugged. "We understood eachother, perhaps better than most. He's my lighter side.." she didn't finish the words just yet..though she knew that Kansas probably knew them by heart. "and I'm his darkness." They were a strange pair but never had there been two more alike in their differences.

So she held the darker part of their relationship, or at least she believed that she did. Anu wasn’t sure that there needed to be such a color phase between two siblings. She looked at the female, and noticed something that she had be unaware of before. The air that she held was shoulder shrugging and tear jerking. She was unhappy, and her self-evaluations were obviously not esteem boosting.

Breathing heavily she walked to the edge of the water, leaving the trees and entering the sunlight. Her toes touched the water, and she let herself take the same moments of pondering this female had taken.

“Where do you come from?” It was an easy question to ask, as well as answer. If she didn't want to belong to Kansas' pack, then she must belong somewhere.

Firefly had recently been broken in mind and spirit, it was a slow process to fix and she'd only just begun walking down that path. Sooner or later she would return to the fun loving dark and tantalizing soul she loved to be. Haku had yet to reappear from the woodwork and she was unsure where her world was going. She watched the woman as she moved down to the water and her toes seemed to just barely grace the surface as she watched her quietly wondering just why the woman hadn't shooed her on her way just yet. She'd expressed her dislike for their pack, (though it was truly a lie, Firefly didn't hate the pack, she was just not interested in knowing her family within the pack).

Firefly's ears flicked back as she hummed softly, a wordless tone from overseas. Though the soft lull was cut short by the lass' question. Pausing in her ditty for a moment Firefly answered, "Now? Dahlia de Mai.." She said softly, her mind wondering back to the clan she once resided in and the world she had loved, so wild and free without a care in the world. There had been rules and restrictions, but not like there was here.. and sometimes she wished that she was back in the Emerald Isles.

”Never heard of it.” She turned to face the green eyes female. They were like Nani’s eyes, light, but only by a hint. She had light cheeks framed by the tawny grey and browns of a true timber. There was an almost ragged edge to her coat, but it was only the remnants of such tattered fur. It was as if there was a time that Dahlia de Mai hadn’t been the most fortunate of packs. She was beautiful all the same, and Anu had a hard time understanding how she could be disconnected.

Anu wasn’t the type for asking wolves to leave, if they weren’t disrupting anything of course. She couldn’t keep their introductions a secret anymore, and the curiosity that she held was far too overwhelming. “I’m Anu.” The words just came out, hoping to provoke a name from this shewolf. But of course that was information that she may not be whiling to share. As if her voice had a mind of it own she softly added, “If you want, you can tell me yours.” In case she didn’t know of realize that it was only polite to respond with her own calling.

She looked into green eyes, hoping, just hoping to provoke something from the stranger.

"Perhaps you need to get out more?" Firefly said as the woman responded to the name of the pack she resided in. It was almost a surprise to the Sadira child to hear the woman say such, as much time as it had been since the fires and as much as the packs at one time had been so intermingled she could hardly believe this wolf from this newly reformed pack had never heard of Dahlia de Mai. She knew it could be a possiblity that the girl wasn't from across the mountain, but didn't packmembers ever get out anymore? She banished the thoughts from her mind as her eyes trailed off the other woman and towards the distant mountains.

The woman announced her name, something Firefly had yet to do, and within second it was obvious that the lady had noticed to. Grinning at the woman, slightly amused by her gusto with trying to get the name from the Dahlia de Mai member. "Firefly Sadira." she said, wondering if there was more to this quiet packmate that just seemed to like to linger along the edge of the borders she belonged to.

When she was met with those staring eyes Firefly was hardly phased, but she figured she might as well find a reason for standing about since the woman was probably growing bored with babysitting the brat that didn't belong."You from other there too?" she asked, she knew that not everyone had made the journey over the mountain, but so many did, it was worth a shot.

Anu was taken aback, slightly. Of course she didn’t get out to much, with her responsibilities within Crimson Dreams. Anu would rather spend her time with her mate and children, then with strangers. Even at the moment her mind drifted back to her family, and how she might rather be with them then this female.

From the waters edge she moved back to a tree to lean. Shoulder against the course bark she let her weight rest against it in a relaxed state, like a sigh running through her body. They were still speaking in short sentences, reinforced by her next question. Over there? Anu took a moment and thought about what she meant. A small nod showed she understood, and that she was indeed from over there.

"I once belonged to Jaded Shadows. Two different times, actually.” It was nice to know that her name, something more then just her, Firefly might be someone that Anu wouldn't forget, even if she was leaving a sort of bad taste in her mouth. “I was there before the fire. I was a sort of a wanderer. Where you born there?” Anu felt more confident the more she spoke.

While Firefly spent time within the packlands aplenty she also had a need to explore and to know the lands. In her mind when one knew the lands there was nothing that could be hidden from them nor few things to surprise. She was rude in her words to the other woman but she really didn't care, that was just her nature, to be blunt and point out what was in clear sight, even if no one wanted or needed it shown to them.

Her eyes flicked back to the woman as she moved to lean against a tree again, Firefly herself sat down on the bank of the lake, her feet mere inches from the edge of the lapping waters as Anu began to explain where she'd come from. Firefly dug her toes into the pebbles as she was questioned in turn. Raising her emerald eyes she answered truthfully for once. "I was born in Storm, though I ran away when I was really small and stalked my half brother as he set out of the territory." A dark grin spread across her maw as she admitted. "I guess I wanted a little bit of adventure.. I sure got it." she said, the irish accent she'd aquired in her time abroad more than apparent as she chuckled.

She plucked a stalk of grass from beside her as she threw another question to the looming member above her. "Why did you roam?" The grass found it's way to her maw as she rolled it across her tongue. "What made you stop anyways.." She had family as her reason for leaving Eire, but she didn't really want to get into that just yet and it was Anu's turn in this round of twenty questions.

It was foolish to think that her true side wouldn’t appear at some point, the part of her that made it impossible to sit still. The need to move along would rise, but she would beat it down again, she would never leave Nani and her family. But that didn’t mean she wouldn’t at least want to travel.

This is what she needed from Firefly, genuine conversation. She gave a smile, taking in the other’s past and noticing the change in her voice. Anu wasn’t familiar with the different places across the sea, but what she did know came from her friend Savina, who was from Italy. The voice Firefly wore was different from Savi’s, and she guessed that she wasn’t Italian.

Anu remembered the Storm pack, but couldn’t recall any other wolves from its ranks. Those years were hazy at best, and most were forgotten and banished from her mind. The heartache that they caused was enough to keep the memories hidden. “I guess I left because it didn’t seem like home anymore.” It was the best explanation she could give, even though it was a poor one.

“I was tired of having nothing when I first joined Phoenix Valley, then I found my family here in Crimson Dreams.” The four faces of her children entered her mind, followed by the white face and green eyes of Naniko. “The heart can make you do crazy things.” Smiling she wandered if Firefly had someone in her pack that kept her grounded.

“What made you come back?” Reasons for leaving may differ, but reasons for returning could as well. Anu understood that she must have traveled far distances, and if one would go so far they must have had a good reason to come all the way back.

Her ears perked slightly as the other woman spoke of Phoenix Valley, she raised a brow and interjected. "You joined Phoenix Valley?" She resisted the urge to roll her eyes as she laughed a moment. Go figure the woman would have been attracted to her mother's pack. She really hadn't met anyone from Phoenix Valley except family, and they all seemed about the same.. so caring and devoted to their family, to their pack that she was almost disgusted. She wouldn't admit that she was the same deep down, but she covered it nicely with her icy bitch exterior, complete with wall around her heart and little care for the weepy drama of another's life.

When the woman moved on to how she'd arrived in Crimson Tears Firefly's nose wrinkled at that old saying. She knew the heart could make you do foolish and rather stupid things, crazy fit right in there too but the love she crashed and ground against was nothing like anything Anu would probably ever experiance. She chuckled to herself as she thought of Haku and the passion and fire that raged side by side in their relationship. She sighed and shook her head as she pushed past the thought.

She rolled to the side as she chewed on the grass quietly, she'd been asked another question and she frowned as she answered, not really wanted to but knowing there was no reason not to. "I made a promise.. before I knew Eire would steal my heart and become my home." She was homesick everytime she was reminded of the lands but the dark and dangerous man was enough to hold her here for now even though the fire between their touch was enough to consume the two.. and repeatedly they'd burn their world down around one another in rage.. it was enough.. so like Eire herself.

It was obvious that she had some sort of opinion about Phoenix Valley; her blue eyes never really missed much. Firefly let her feelings paint a picture on her face, much like Anu herself. It she wasn’t careful she didn’t need to speak at all, her body would tell the whole story. She understood that the leaders of the valley were close to many of the neighboring packs, her own mate was Iskata’s daughter, and could guess this female was familiar with her as well.

A promise? Her ears perked at the answer. Keeping a promise took character and diligence, something Anu wasn’t sure she possessed until this moment. Her mind reeled, thinking of all the different things that she could have committed to. One stood out as the most reasonable. She was too young for children, but not for love. Even with her hard exterior Firefly had a heart, Anu was sure of it.

“I did, before I knew where my heart should truly reside.” Smiling still, Anu pried deeper, unsure how much she could ask or how much Firefly would tell. “Where is this Eire? ”

When they talked of bad apples and family trees some would have looked at Firefly and called it, others wouldn't have but it really ddin't mater to the girl how her family or even strangers saw her. She saw herself in the exact manner she wanted to so the rest of the world was nothing in those eyes. She found it odd how some could connect her so quickly to the family and others would go through their lives and never know unless it was pointed out to them. She was more at ease with the second line, seeing how she didn't want to be connected or reminded of her family ties. She spat the grass out beside her as her eyes flickered to the other woman as she went on with that misty eyes look of one in love. Firefly was grateful that her relationship was a little more complicated than sickly sweet words and contented sighs but she knew to each their own.

She still wrinkled her nose at the mention once more of love leading one's life, real love, not love for a land like she'd referred to. The girl quietly picked another stem of wild wheat as she played at the grass between her fingers. "Eire.. my emerald isle.." She paused a moment, realizing she'd yet to call the land by it's last given name. "Ireland.. is across the sea." she said firmly. Her mind was a buzz with strange ways and the sounds of the children of the clan laughing as the shaman told them the stories of how the wolves had taken back the lands that had once been stolen from then when humans still roamed the worlds. She smiled for a second as she turned back to Anu. "Things.. were different there.." she said softly.

dam it! i knew i would do this... sorry, getting used to this account linking thing..

She would forever be a romantic, sweet words and a soft touch would always make her knees weak. Didn’t everyone want to feel that way? So sure and committed that no other being could come close to completing you, as that one soul did. How could anyone not search for that?

Anu took in what she said, noticing her change in tone. The smile she wore gave Anu deep insight. She might have been different there, happy. Or at least happier then she was here. Anu could see her, in her element in the home that held her heart. It seemed as if Firefly had found the one that completed her, it was just a place instead of a person.

“Sounds like it was the better place for you.” her smile was weaker then before, no more then a thin grin.
