Big Grin Shorter posts would be AMAZING. But this one may be long. >_> -fails- And lol...have I used this thread title before? I don't remember XD

All of them were out running around this wet afternoon, despite the rain. It had been drizzling off and on all morning, and Naniko had tried to convince them to stay, but all four had left a few hours before. She figured that they would probably stay in Crimson Dreams because of the weather...but did pups think that way? Sometimes when they left it was hard on her, and she wanted to go with them, but today she was trying hard not to worry as much. She had a small fire going near the mouth of the cave and she sat next to it, grinding up some dried herbs in a bowl. She had a large store of herbs in the shed near the mansion, and she had taken some of them into the cave to work with. Naniko had a very large stack of books in the cave, too, and kept them on top of the books so that the pups wouldn't get into them. There was no telling what some mixtures of herbs would do to little puppies.

She brushed her hands off and stood up, stretching. Now that she wasn't sitting down she felt a burst of energy--like she should go out and get something big done. Naniko had been to the human city a lot over the past few months...so not there. But...hmmm. Yes, this seemed to be the right time. She ran toward the mansion and up the front steps when she reached it, wiping her feet off hurriedly before entering the living room. Where had she kept that? It had been the only thing in the pouch that Ehno had found that had looked interesting, a diamond that had already been placed into a round piece of metal. Naniko had thought that it was pretty peculiar, so she'd kept it.

The female found what she was looking for, then set to looking for a chain. It wasn't Christmas yet, but did one need an excuse to give someone else a present? She'd been thinking about this for a while, but had always had at least one pup with her. Maybe today was her day. Naniko pulled a chain out of a box that sat on one of the shelves, slid the ring onto it, then went to the door again. Now...where had that mate of hers gotten off to? She thought she could hear something off in the distance...but she wasn't sure.

"Hello?"

short??

The pups being off on their own was liberating and caging all at once. She felt pride when they walked away, knowing that she had a part in their making, but then there was the worry that constricted her heart. Where were they going? What if someone hurt them? The questions ran through her mind constantly, and she fought to quiet them.

The cave was empty when she returned to it and the scents where lost and old. Anu could only stay in one place for a few moments before turning and heading to the mansion. The large house was always filled with friends and it was too hard be alone. Dirty paws clapped together, hoping that they cold soil would fall from her paws. The pumpkin path was almost clear, even though their was still so much that needed to decay in winter’s grip.

She took the steps two at a time, ears hearing a small call in a voice her was very familiar with. Blue eyes saw the white fey standing in the doorway. The gloom of the drizzly day parted, and in her view all she saw was the brilliant coat and eyes of her mate. “Hey babe.” A smile crossed her face as she spoke.

No matter what was going on, whatever they were doing, seeing Anu always made her happy. When the female came into view her tail began to wag slowly back and forth, and her heart thudded in her chest. For some reason, today, she felt a little nervous. It had been a while since they'd been without the pups...and having Anu all to herself...it made her both nervous and excited. They hadn't been together in what felt like ages.

She didn't know when the right moment would be to give it to her--probably in private. They were already here inside the mansion, though, so why not stay for a little while? "I was looking for you" She said simply, grinning in return. "I thought about maybe...starting a fire in the fireplace and having a night in here for a change." The sofa was nice and soft, and the beds, too. "I have some food already cooking in the kitchen, that I started earlier today--I was wondering if you might be up for some supper." She didn't know how to phrase what she wanted to say, but supper was a good place to start.

Never did the sight of a single being make her heart pound as wild as the mere image of Naniko. White pelt, tall figure, the piercing green eyes and the way her neck arched downward and connected to her soft shoulders all made her knees weak on any given day. The buzzing feeling in her stomach only heightened her senses. The fact that it was the first time being alone in what felt like ages was not unknown, and she could tell that the fact affect Nani as well.

She liked the idea of staying in the living room, away from the cave and the responsibilities that she was reminded of while being there. Anything to get her mind off her worries. “Sounds perfect.” Anu took the last step of the porch and met her in the doorway, just enjoying being close to the alabaster wolf. “What’s for supper?” She smiled and placed a hand on Nani’s lower back, feeling the curve of her spine and the soft fur that covered it. Turning to walk into the mansion she distracted her mind from all the thoughts that burst into her mind the moment they touched to the smell that generated from the kitchen.

This is so fun XD <333

Whenever she was feeling anxious or overwhelmed Anu had always been there for her to make things right. Naniko hadn't been sure if she would ever be able to have something like this with someone, an actual relationship, for a while...but Anu had shown her the light. They fit together perfectly, together, each one complimenting the others' attributes. There were times when each female felt unsure, but the other was always right there to give support.

The hand on her lower back sent tingles through her being and she reacted positively, leaning in a little bit. Even this closeness was amazing, this small touch. "Turkey. It's surprising, really--I just kind of stumbled upon it when I was out with Salem. I had him scare it toward me, and when it was disabled enough he helped with keeping it down on the ground." She was really proud of all of the pups, especially little Salem.

Naniko reluctantly pulled away from Anu to look into the kitchen to the stove, where there the turkey cooked over a small fire. "It's about done." She put the necklace on top of the old refrigerator quickly to keep it out of sight until she was ready to give to to Anu, then went back toward the living room. "I'm not sure what we can do until it's done cooking, though.."

I knoooowww

She as used to the nerves, they were something that she felt daily. It didn’t take long for her to turn then into a positive feeling, and something that she fed off of. It was usual to sense them from Naniko, but there was something off about her. She could only assume that it was the time they had spent sleeping with a full bed that made them on edge.

It was hard to listen, but she couldn’t ignore her words. Turkey sounded good, Nani was a wonderful cook and Anu refused to even try, just knowing that nothing would come out right. The thought about Salem made her heart flutter, at least their hunting lesson had instilled something. Even if it was sort of a bust.

The loss of their connection was painful, and in an instant she felt the cold that lingered in the house. She only felt better when Nani returned, giving her the good news. The food was almost done, and they had time to burn. A step was all that took to close the gap between them. A hand snaked over the light colored arm to her paw. Closing her fingers to intertwine with Nani’s, Anu gave a small tug. Sounds good. her voice was hushed, even though there was no need to whisper. They were alone as Anu pulled her into the living room, ready to make that fire Nani had spoken of.

My roommates keep turning the thermostat up :/ -STAB-

The kitchen was nice and warm from the heat of that fire, but the living room felt a little cold when she stepped back through the threshold. That changed when Anu reached for her hand; her whole entire body flooded with heat as the other tugged her forward. Where were they going? She was satisfied to let Anu lead her wherever she wanted to go; right now she didn't care.

"We just can't...let the food burn" She said absently. As long as the kitchen didn't burn down...

I should turn the heat on.. my hands are frozen!

Hand clasped in Naniko’s, Anu pulled her as she walked backwards into the living room. It was dark and cold, but her mates bright pelt could not be lost in the shadows. She laughed at her words, not exactly agreeing with her completely. There were many nights where Anu needed to lead and coax, and it seemed to be another one of those times. She was happy to guide them to stand in front of the couch that sat in the common area.

Oh you know I like mine well done. Her smile became menacing as she spoke.

Her soft paw moved to Nani’s arm, gripping it softly and pushed. The couch looked soft and comfortable, plush compared to the dirt and comforts that they had in their cave. It would a treat to lay upon them at anytime, but it wasn’t exactly what she wanted to lay on.

She had been one way for all of her life, and to change so suddenly did cause her confusion at times. She and Conri had been together for a long time, compared to the time that she had spent alone or the time that she was spending with Anu. Some things were hard to un-learn. Naniko liked everything about males, as far as she knew--their smell, the way they acted, their power...So now she was beginning to learn more about females. There were some things that she knew that she definitely liked, and some things that she was still in the dark about. What she mostly knew...was that Anu was who she wanted to be with. And that things were good with her.

Neither of them were interested in fighting with the other, and they rarely disagreed about anything. Normally one would explain why they felt a certain way to the other, and then the other would say their views on it. Most times they reached a comfortable compromise and didn't talk about it again.

She laughed and shook her head at Anu as they made their way to the couch. They would be able to smell it when the turkey was done, so she wasn't too worried about it. And her mate was right--it tasted better when it was just a little burt anyway. "What exactly...did you have in mind?" She sat down gracefully on the worn cushions, looking up at her, still smiling.

short..

Anu had the advantage, and she knew it. Her entire life she had only been one way, and with Nani she didn’t deviate from that path. Of course she had known the kindness of a male, but not the commitment and intimacy she had felt with females. Her love for Nani made her want to give her everything she felt with her past mate, but there were just some things she couldn’t fabricate. Instead she would show her that they could love each other, even if the pallid fey wasn’t entirely sure of all the details.

I think.. You should relax. Blue eyes looked down at her as she sat on the couch, matching Naniko’s smile and letting her hand trace the edges of her mane. It was hard to express how she badly she wanted her, but with anything she wasn’t to sure with she would take just a step at a time.

Here, let me help. Her words matched her actions, as she brought both hands to her shoulders, kneading all the tension out of the muscles.

Her hair was long and she undid it from its usual braid, letting it flow down her back. Naniko didn't usually let her hair out at all, ever...but today was a stress-relief day. A nice dinner at home. She could do it today. Loose from its bindings it seemed even longer, down past the bottom of her back. She normally kept it in the braid because it was easier to work that way. And harder for pups to grab.

When Anu's hands started on her shoulders she groaned--it felt so, so good. She hadn't realized how tensed up she was until she completely relaxed. She pulled her hair over one shoulder so that it wasn't in the way, giving in to the delicious touches and presses. "Anu...that feels so wonderful. I can't even...describe it.." She groaned again. "Your hands are really strong"

Small hands moved over her white fur, sand colored against the purest of shades. Her white wasn’t just empty of color, but filled with all the brilliance of every hue that even in the dim light of the room Anu could make out the purples that gave it its depth and the soft pinks that highlighted her curves. If she even wanted to take on the task, it would be near impossible for her to find the negative in Naniko, there was to much to love about her for the fey to extract anything but positives.

Her tresses flowed down her back, a wave of fur that surprised the grey and tawny female. Her own crown was topped with a medium length mane, which was more mismanaged then anything else. But Naniko’s held a Rapunzel feeling, and begged Anu to play with and comb it. It had always been braided and contained, but now freed from its binding it lay against her back as peacefully and softly as a cape made of silk. She gave in to the temptation of running her fingers in it before its wearer collected it and moved it to the side.

Her exposed back reminded Anu of her task, and her hands ran along both shoulder blades with added pressure. Listening to the noises that awoke from the females chest Anu grinned to herself. Naniko’s words were almost lost in the thoughts that buzzed through her head, and the rest of her. It was a rare moment for anyone to remark the existence of her strength, and she could not help but think Nani was teasing.

Good. Her voice showed the effort she gave as she laid her lands against the tight muscles. There was a lot of hidden tension dwelling with in the Commanders body, and it would be a fight to release it all.

Anu worked her hands hard, until she felt the tightness begin to fade. Just lie down. She brought the words close to her fur lined ears, her voice holding none of the effort it had before. Once the kinks were worked away Anu could smooth them all away.

Let me show you how soft they can be. she thought aloud, looking again to the alabaster neck line and back.

She had gained some weight from the pregnancy, but in the wolf world that was a good thing. It meant that she would live through the winter and that she was eating well. The pack had provided her with so much good food during the times that she couldn't hunt, Anu especially. She did secretly think that the tawny wolf was the stronger of the two of them; Naniko had been going through a lot when Anu had picked her up out of it, but she hadn't had to do that for her in return yet. She hoped that she wouldn't have to, that nothing bad would ever happen to her beloved mate. But at the same time, she did feel like she owed Anu at least a little bit. She would repay her by showing the captain how much she really meant to her.

Naniko complied and went down to her stomach, giving into the feelings and letting Anu take complete control. It was always great with Anu, no matter what they were doing. She felt like they were really compatible--not just emotionally, but in many other ways. After a while she heard something small, almost too quiet for her to pick up, but she could just barely make it out. How soft they could be, huh? "You should definitely show me that." She pulled herself back up from her previous position, facing the other and reaching a hand out to trace her fingers along Anu's jawline. Her hand then went to the back of her neck and into her mane, rubbing and pulling on the hair a little. She leaned forward, pressing her muzzle against the side of the older wolf's neck, licking just below her jawbone.

Fate, a word that had been used to describe their relationship. It felt like that, like everything was just by chance. Nothing was planned, from their meeting by the lake, to the night spent in her den, to the birth of the pups she called her own. Anu hadn’t been able to plan any of it, and she had nothing planned for the future. She could only open her eyes in the morning and show up for what ever was going to happen.

In the past there had been wolves that said harsh things, told her that she was wrong for loving they way she did. The long scar that traced down her leg was proof of the public’s wrath. For her it had been a male disgusted of her choice, but Anu was sure there would be others that disapproved. Thankfully Naniko hadn’t had to face the disapproved feelings and the ignorance that resided beyond their door, and Anu hoped to protect her from it all.

She leaned back as Naniko sat before her, their legs crossed over and intertwining. Smiling at her words Anu suddenly let her muscle relax, falling into a more submissive mindset. Eyes closed momentarily as she felt the kiss across her jaw line. The action sent a chill down her spine, from tip to tail. The buzz flowed into her legs, but disappeared as quickly as it appeared and let her with an every growing, warming feeling. Blue orbs opened to look upon the white furred face, her smile was ever present but turned slightly mischievous.

Fingers traced her face, across her cheek and into the long strands of her artic hued hair. Ever so slowly, they moved downward and against the back she had just massaged, all its kinks drawn out and all the muscle relaxed. In a soft but quick movement she had closed the gap that had been keeping them apart. Her nose pushed up against her ear, teasing the thin skin with her teeth. Now there was nothing cold, dark or empty about the large room.

She wasn't sure what would have happened if everything that had brought her here hadn't occurred. Naniko was so glad that she had Anu with her; deep down, she did have a great fear of being abandoned, of being alone. That was probably one of the reasons that she had wanted pups to begin with, subconciously. Her children would never leave her, right? That wasn't to say that she didn't fully trust Anu. But she had trusted Conri, too. She wanted to trust Anu completely.

Anu was right in thinking that Naniko hadn't come across discrimination. Her own father, Roman, had kept a male mate before leaving him for her mother Kaelyn. And when the two of them had left the lands she had been left behind with that ex-mate, Physe, and he had treated her like the cherished daughter that she was supposed to have been to him.

Their bodies came together like a wave meeting the shoreline and a soft tingle spread through her, radiating from the areas that touched. This felt totally and completely natural to her and she responded in kind, licking along Anu's neck as the female took her ear. After a little while of that she simply relaxed, breathing in Anu's calming scent.

Anu trusted Nani with her life, the lives of the puppies they loved and with the life of the pack. She trusted that she would be faithful, and that she would be there when she needed her. But, Nani had been broken and torn apart when Anu had appeared. It left Anu insecure in one aspect of trust. She couldn’t trust Naniko wouldn’t figure out Anu wasn’t anything compared to the love of a male. She would try, ignore the insecurity and be everything Naniko wanted.

The chills continued, followed by the soothing warmth that sent her body pulsing. She dint want to push her away, but her hand moved to her shoulder and pushed. Sending Nani backward toward the couch Anu followed, keeping their bodies close. Eyes stayed locked and she gave a thin smile, hiding the excitement she felt. Leaning over Naniko, Anu paused. Looking at the jade eyes that for a brief moment she hadn’t trusted.

Soft hand moved down the white female’s side, feeling her hidden ribs and settling at her hip. Her nose touched the side of her face, touching her cheek with her tongue. With one paw keeping herself above her mate, the other crept over her leg. Ever soft her claws trailed the skin beneath her fur, searching for a hidden warmth.

My brother is playing rockband and it is annoyingggg.

Just as she was really beginning to get into it, she smelled it. Something was burning. She pulled back, craning her head to look into the kitchen. She couldn't see flames, but it didn't smell right--she couldn't believe that she hadn't noticed it before this! Probably because she had been so distracted. Naniko pulled even farther back from Anu, putting her hand over the other were's. "The kitchen. I told you..." She let go of Anu's hand, standing up and rushing into the kitchen area.

The food was smoking, and she reached over to quickly pull it off the heat. "Ow, ow ow.." She put it over on the counter, licking at her burnt fingers. "Should have grabbed something to pick it up with. But I thought it would really start on fire" She mumbled.

There was still something left of the night, though, even if they had been interrupted. "Anu--come in here" She called, reaching to the top of the fridge for the necklace.

It was like being ripped apart, the disconnection from the white wolfess. Even Naniko’s gentle hand on hers, the female hated that they needed to be separated. She knew that the food would have been left to itself, and wasn’t surprised to smell it burning. If she had her own way, she would have let the entire mansion burn around them.

Laying on the couch, alone, she looked up at the ceiling. Her blood felt like it was at a heavy boil, and she needed a few deep breaths to calm it. Nani's voice called out, making her jump off the couch and hurry to the kitchen. The food was burnt, but maybe they could pick of the black parts and save it. Approaching her, Anu looked to the fingers that she had hurt.

Taking Nani’s paw in hers she looked at the warm and tender fingertips. She noticed the item, but kept her eyes away as she kissed injured digits on her paw. A smile crossed her face, Whats that? They were quiet but eager words, her eyes didn’t peek at it but waited for Naniko to show her.

"A diamond. It's a really sparkly, rare jewel that was very important to humans. They gave them to their mates on special occasions--as gifts. This one was difficult to make a necklace out of, but I think I managed well enough." She held it out to show it to her. In the light it sparkled as it swung gently back and forth, its facets catching the rays and reflecting them back toward the pair.

"It's a present for you. An early mid-winter gift. I hope you like it--Ehno and I found it up on the roof of the mansion, in the gutter. It was a lucky find." Just like Anu had been a lucky find. Naniko felt truly blessed to have even met Anu; and for them to be together was the most wonderful thing.

its 12pm & my dad is snoring… Sad

Anu had never been one for possessions, but then no one had ever truly given her anything before. The first true gift that they shared, Anu felt the instant guilt of having nothing to give in return. Her eyes light at the sight of the stone, shining in even the dim light of the kitchen. She held it in her hand, it was light and felt fragile, it was certainly something special. Ears took in every word her mate spoke, but she still couldn’t find the words she wanted for a response.

Really? she still couldn’t believe that Nani wanted to give it to her. It would looked more beautiful against the clean white coat her possessed, but she wanted her to have it. Never had any one wanted her to have something so extraordinary. Her face was moving from her shock to excitement to a happy sadness. Why did she feel the need to cry when really, beyond imaginable, happy? Nani, thank you.
