She had returned to the dockside the evening after having spent an almost fairytale like night with Haku, and yet as mixed up as her feeling were for the male she didn't have any idea of what to do about them. Instead she sat on that same old pier staring at the same setting sun as the waves washed against the shore. The lulling sound seemed to drive out the thoughts from her mind as she just lay there with a blanket wrapped around her frame, a soft smile upon her maw as she watched the world turned to a crimson haze as the sun stole away beyond the edge of the earth.

The icy waters below her were strange, freezing and refreezing, creaking and crackling as the movement of the waves broke them apart and soon enough they attempted to reform. The stupid patchworked ice reminded her of Haku's and her ill-fated romance and the power that they couldn't control. She wished that it was something simple, to just walk away and yet she hadn't yet found a way to.. and somehow no matter the fighting and damage they do to one another the edges heal into jagged scars and it starts all over again. She bowed her head and closed her eyes, listening to the lull of the water and the whistling of the wind.. wishing it would all just wash away all those things from her pretty little head, if only for a moment in time.

Mew Sadira

Word count: 349

The weather was getting increasingly colder, parallel with her fur growing thicker and more lush to protect her against the biting cold that would eventually peak during the winter at some point. They weren't that far into the season yet, though, and all around the signs of it were popping forward. The only sad thing about winter was how the ocean became trapped in itself, walls all around. Mew's favorite spot all year was the harbor, and during the year she traveled far away from here, she always followed the sea. There was something special about it, but during winter it did not comfort Mew as it did when it was free. It moaned and croaked as if it longed for freedom below the icy walls that had caught it and refused to let it go. Still, though, Mew went, like a faithful child dutifully visiting her grandmother because she felt that it was the right thing to do. It gave her consolidation when she needed, so why shouldn't she offer hers when needed? Of course, the ocean had no soul of itself, but it was just one of those things. Perhaps a small tradition she had made for herself.

This evening, as she approached the harbor, a figure sat there huddled in a blanket from the cold, occupying her space. Not hers, it was everyone in the pack's, but when one went to a place enough time one'd feel a certain belonging to that place. From both sides. She knew it was Firefly who sat there, the scent was all over the place and the ivory femme had a sensitive nose, and thus Mew intended to turn away and go somewhere else. She did not want to quarrel, but she knew that it would be hard for her to keep her negative opinions inside. The femme stopped dead in her tracks for a second, and began to turn around, hoping her cousin had not spotted or smelled her presence. This was a good day, and she did not want to ruin it by becoming angry at Firefly's lightheadedness.

The wash of the waves as they cracked the ice and reformed was a strange yet beautiful sight to see. Somehow she felt that she could relate to the destruction and reformation of the seemingly solid yet frail frigid thing. Her eyes were half closed as she could hear the moan of the sea as it rode over and under the ice. She knew once the bay was solid that the echoing groans of the sea wanting her harbor would be the only sound in the silence howling out night and day. The woman's mind was drawn away from the haunting thoughts as another entered the scene.

Firefly opened her orbs as the scent of Mew seemed to flood her senses. She narrowed her eyes as she realized who it was, she'd never actually met the sister of Haku face to face but from every brush by and pause in time they'd been forced to stand in the same moment she could see the emotions of the other woman clear as day. She'd never done anything at all to harm the woman but it was more than apparent that she wasn't liked by the other Sadira. She turned her head slightly to watch the form of the other, when she turned to leave Firefly closed her eyes once more and just gave up acting like she didn't care. "Mew?" She called softly, her eyes fluttering back open as she watched the form other the other, wondering just why she'd come this far to just leave... not stopping to think that maybe the location had been what she sought, not the figure sitting there.

Just as her body started to become an arc as she was turning away, her cousin's voice was heard above the ocean noise. Mew reversed her movement and cursed under her breath, inaudible, at social rules. Why did she even follow them? What was the point? Mew Sadira did not like her cousin, why should she pretend to do so? And surely Firefly was not dim enough to not have noticed the loathsome looks she had received from those emerald eyes, so what her aim with this was, Mew did not know. But, bound by politeness and pride as she was, she made her way over to the figure of her cousin. Having to act this way towards such an immoral person heavily bothered Mew, despite also knowing that Firefly most likely did not know why Mew hated her so. There were many reasons, the top on the list being Lubomir. If that frivolous little girl hadn't been ..well frivolous, perhaps Mew would not have been visiting her children's grave alone every night. Or sleep alone. But it didn't matter for Firefly, Mew supposed, not as long as she got her weekly portion of Haku's ass. Not knowing what to say, being in quite an awkward position, Mew stopped once she was in front of the other femme, and spoke calmly but free of emotion. She had the know-how to hide emotion when she wanted to, and hopefully the conversation would be relatively painless. Hello, Firefly.

Firefly was quiet as her bejeweled eyes took in the sight of the ivory woman making her way to join her. She had no idea what had drawn Mew to dislike her, perhaps the fact that she had been sleeping with her brother, perhaps because of the tainting of blood the two so preferred over others.. or perhaps it was something for once she herself had been the victim of instead of the agressor... she'd always been drawn to the darker side of the mirror, it wasn't her fault Mew had never beared witness to the depths of the beast. Whatever Mew's belief it didn't matter, the gold and bronze hued beauty was use to the jealous that seemed to follow where she stepped.

When the snowy lass paused before her Firefly nodded her head slightly as she was addressed. She had bypassed the wintery woman in rank at some point, how or why she didn't know and she'd never been drawn to the fact til now, the thought made her wonder if perhaps that had been the final straw that had done it. Her hooded orbs studied the other quietly for a moment before she returned the greeting one more. "Hello Mew... I trust you're well?" she asked softly. The scent of Haku still lingered upon her flesh, filling the space about her as the musky scent of the Mew, so interlaced and yet so strange from the one that had bed her the night before.

The scent of her brother was clinging to the femme, but not as if she had just come from seeing him, more like it was simply lingering from a few days back. Perhaps she should learn to clean herself, this cousin of hers. Oh well, each to their own. The red-and-cream femme with the eyes so like her own presented Mew with a polite question, and Mew sighed mentally. Why, WHY did everyone play this game? She was tired of those same old questions every time she bumped into people. But it came automatically, she supposed, and perhaps it was better to play this game than to be open and honest. Mew did not want to create drama within the pack, but the temptation was great. Knowing of Haku's soon-to-be litter also spoke of great drama to come, but that didn't mean Mew would contribute. There was nothing stopping her from not liking her cousin, though.

Yes, I am, thank you She was short, but not short in tone of voice and the like. A small smile of politeness hung on her face. She acted completely naturally, and no one could read her (perhaps except Haku) and discover that what she really wanted to to was to just smash something large and heavy into the femme's face instead. Oh well. Anger management. Since they were playing this silly game of politeness, it was time for a follow-up. And yourself?

Firefly wasn't sure how or why she'd accepted Haku's request for them to belong to one another. They both knew in some aspects that everything about their relationship was morally wrong but of course neither cared either. She'd known time and time again when he'd roamed off and when he'd returned that his trekkings hadn't just been to think, perhaps the male had never realized that a fellow tended to glow, their eyes sparkle with smugness after the fact. She wouldn't be the one to tell him, but she wouldn't be the one to confront him either. It hurt her that he expected her to be perfect, to be loyal only to him, even when their game was just that.. but now with the turn in time, the real thing being wrapped around the two and now they were one.. or atleast they had vowed to be. She doubted his 'heartfelt' vow but mesmerized by the night and the words he spoken she'd swayed and let him take her by the hand, knowing he'd already broken her heart.

Seeing Mew before her presented her with a problem, they were all family and yet Firefly had no clue how the packmates who were blood and kin would take the pairing. She nodded quietly to the words Mew granted her before it seemed the game had begun, thistime with a different player than normal, not Haku this time, but Mew. The rules were of course different and the object as well, but the circle was still the same. Firefly raised her emerald orbs to meet Mew's steadily as she answered. I'm fine." She was quiet a moment while the winds from the bay whistled around them before granting the woman the honest truth that she'd probably learn soon enough, if Haku hadn't already indulged her. If he hadn't, well she had even more reason to hate the cousin before her. "Haku asked me to be his mate.." if only she knew the secrets Mew did.

Crappy reply, woot! Merry christmas Smile

Bored, until now. The conversation was nothing but politeness and dreary everyday and superficial "freindship" bonding. Which Mew was not interested in, and especially not from Firefly. But then suddenly, her cousin had spiced it up, not even knowing it. The Tilia fell out of her neutral position, and unwillingly let her eyes widen slightly. Haku asking her to be his mate? Mew knew very well they had been at least sleeping together, but her brother was not really the mate kind. Mating, yes. Mate? nope. Quickly, she wondered whether this was just a trick from his side to keep her with him, but she knew that Firefly was not a dumb girl. Unfortunately. It was so much harder not to like people who had brains to defend themselves with. Firefly would probably not have fallen for such a trick. Quickly regaining her control, she hoped Firefly had not noticed, but she doubted it. She had reacted too quickly, too passively to have been able to control it. A sudden amusement crept up inside of her, but this time it did not show - she had regained her control. Deuce was having his litter, and Firefly was to be his mate. Oh the drama, and the pain. Perhaps Firefly deserved to have something against her for a change. It was not Mew's place to spill the beans, however. Oh, really? That's nice. Lies, little amusing lies. Her mood had changed for the better now. A small smile was painted on her face, as if to say that she enjoyed the thought of having Firefly a member of the family in a second way, but in reality she just enjoyed the slyness of her brother. It was awesome.

Very little got past Firefly and the sudden change of her cousin's emotions and attention made the young woman narrow her eyes slightly, the words that Mew reigned down for her didn't help her train of thought as she flicked her ears back and rose to her paws. Moving a step closer to the alabaster woman she replied dryly. "I'd never know you to compliment anything to do between your brother and I..." She wondered just what it was that had interested the woman before her so but there was no way she'd learn unless Mew told her. She was treading dangerous ground by stating the obvious truth but she wanted to know the one thing it seemed that Mew knew that Firefly didn't, and she would find out.

She could guess a million things, she knew a million things that everyone assumed that she didn't. There was no surprise to the girl that Haku was probably sleeping around, not probably, was, or atleast had been. She'd know even before she'd accepted the mateship what the male was all about. She also knew that he still would always come back to her because there was nothing the others could offer but a night of meaningless sex. Flicking the tip of her tail softly against her hindleg she waited for a response, knowing that this wasn't just a little game by that look that had passed over Mew's face.

Firefly had seen it then. An excitement rose in Mew's mind, in both a good and a bad way. She did not like to argue, but she did have an urge to make this woman feel bad. And to make her feel as tricked and betrayed as she had made Mew feel. Just one look at her told her that the whole thing with Lubomir could not be blamed entirely at him. Any idiot could realize that once they saw how the young girl tripped around Haku, waving herself in his view. But Mew would not betray her brother, still. Despite how much she wanted to, she was still loyal. And though Haku was really an odd one, he did seem to care for this woman in an odd way. Seriously, Haku Soul asking her to be his mate would be a sign of either him losing his mind completely or growing boring and normal. It was most likely the first thing, but it was definitely odd and she should know better than to mess with it. The conflict was so fantastic it very nearly made her giggle.

The polite smile that was spread on her lips now eagerly twisted at the invite to a game. Well hey, if Firefly wanted to play that way, Mew would not stop her. Oh please. Just because I don't like you doesn't mean I'd rob my brother of his happiness. She might as well say it as it was. And in it all Mew could not help but laugh inside. Here was Firefly, so keen on knowing the secrets she held, when she was just about as morally twisted as Haku herself! It was wonderful, really.

Narrowing her eyes at the ivory woman who seemed to think that she held something against Firefly. She knew now atleast by the way the woman behaved that Haku had done something or let slip something that wasn't just part of the ordinary everyday things he did. Something he trusted his sibling to keep and yet here she was face to face with the bronze woman and she gloated so openly. Firefly wanted to mar that pretty little face, she damned the pack laws and Cercelee's knowledge of what had happened between Ember and her. Life was a bitch.

Flicking her bangs out of her face Firefly ignored the comment on Mew's dislike of her but at the mark on Haku's happiness she just laughed. "How could you rob him of his own happiness.. If he doesn't have it, he'll get it somehow." The rule had never applied to Firefly herself because she'd made the first move and the game was a constant between them. She doubted that the male had ever been afraid of losing Firefly and she knew they were cursed to go around and round loving and hating with a passion and a fury so close together one couldn't tell the fine line that fell between the love and hate.

"So what did he get this time?" she asked hotly. What new little pretty was it who had caught Haku's eye. She had to remind herself that whatever might have happened between him and any other female had been before their mateship. Honestly, it couldn't be any worse than the things he'd once caught her at.. could it. She narrowed her eyes as she thought of what could be worse for the couple with the ying-yang relationship.

Mew Sadira

Fighting a giggle, Mew could not help herself. The wording, so incredibly fitting. Oh the amount of smart answers she could come up with right now, but the secret was still not hers to share. What did he get this time? oh, just a little litter. A few hairy lumps of offspring. Not a big deal, I'm sure you wouldn't mind, Firefly. Not at all. Attempting to calm herself, Mew stilled the slow movement of her tail and let the smirk disappear from her mouth. Despite how much she didn't like Firefly, there was still loyalty. Oh, had it just been anyone else than her brother and she would have burst already, so eager to see pain on the face of her cousin. She was sinking low now, but she liked it there sometimes, so it didn't really matter, did it. Thank you Firefly, I am perfectly aware of my brother's capability to serve himself. Runs in the family, don't it? Green eyes stared pointedly at the warmer colored cousin. Firefly was just like that herself, so she would know. Hardly anyone in the Sadira bloodline was not, but still. You will have to ask him yourself, what he's getting. Standing fast, she could nearly touch the hate and anger between them both, but Mew was not frightened despite knowing what Firefly had been up to before. The white one could be quite vicious herself, despite her lithe frame...

The slight giggle that seemed to emerage was enough to convince Firefly that somehow she'd been right. She'd known Haku had taken lovers outside their relationship before hand and she had even thought that he would even when they shared their mateship, but this little twist that Mew seemed to be holding above her head seemed to be more than that. Baring her fangs in disgust that the other woman she growled softly. "Obvious it's a little more than a little romp with another or else you wouldn't be getting so much out of this.." Firefly was a proud and haughty woman. She knew the things her mate did, just like Mew knew once that Firefly had been the same, the only different was when Haku had caught her out Firefly had settled her immature little games with the boys, Haku on the otherhand had still prowled and plundered to his hearts content.. always coming home to the bed she kept warm but still.. she wasn't stupid.

"What is it about me that gets you so, who I sleep with now, or one of the ones from the past.." She grinned wickedly as she smirked. "It seems I'd shattered half the girls in this pack's dreams at one point or another.. did I happen to shatter yours as well?" If Mew wanted to play and beat around the bush with the information that she was holding above Firefly's head then Firefly would just push back and see how long it took before the other woman snapped. There were plenty of things that seemed to ruffle the ivory woman's fur and Firefly was pretty good at getting under her skin without even working at it.

A ripple through Firefly's body spoke of the disgust she felt for Mew, and Mew truly found delight in it. For a long time now she had felt that disgust towards her cousin, and it was a relief to know that it was mutual. It was much less complicated when they could just find agreement on the fact that they felt no form of affection towards each other, and couldn't care less if the other died. Perhaps it was Mew who was twisted to feel that way, but was another matter. All of her rules, all of her principles fell away when it came to this one, and she was free to lie and scheme as much as she wanted. It was low, and she liked it down there. Funny that petty behavior could amuse her so - she'd have to repeat the success one day, should she ever dig up suitable material. The smirk on the Ilex's face widened at the warmly colored femme's words but the mouth did not open to speak. Mew knew beforehand that Firefly was no stupid woman - even though her behavior sometimes spoke otherwise - and Firefly had thus realized that she held something quite larger than just the information that Haku slept around. Holding her mouth shut, she knew it would probably annoy Firefly better than more taunting. The smile lingered.

It did not falter when Firefly asked a good question. Mew had not always hated her, but ever since she saw her behavior live she'd not thought highly of the woman. Partly how she sometimes seemed to be offering herself to the males, partly because Mew knew she slept around. It was a stain on the Sadira family tree. Didn't the woman have any principles? It was disgraceful. And then she had found out that her childish games had also lured in Lubomir... However, Mew had not been mates with him - Ember had, and thus whatever it had been between Mew and Lubomir had also been wrong. He had not told her, however. He had left her instead, without a word. It had been he who had shattered her dream, and Firefly didn't really have that much to do with it. But the disgust had risen once Mew found out the different pieces of the puzzle. The Acer had done that to her own sister, while messing around with Mew's brother. It was too much, and there was not an ounce of respect left in Mew for this one, pack member and family member or not. The smile crawled up one side of her mouth, and Mew turned her head slightly to the side, looking at those green eyes that looked much like her own. Don't you worry about me, Firefly. It takes more than a loose little girl to shatter my dreams. Made of ice, and there was no piercing through.

Firefly growled softly at the lower ranked woman at her words but she didn't go any further than that. She knew that she could find other ways to fuck with the woman if she pleased. Perhaps taking the male the first time hadn't been enough but she could always stay on the woman's tail and keep any dream from coming true for the green eyed brat. She flicked her tail back and forth as she smirked, "If I can't shatter your dreams then I'll just make them all into nightmares." She could do it, it might take a lot of sneaking about and doing things that might get her into trouble with Cercelee if she was caught, but she wasn't set on getting caught anytime soon in any of her games.

There was one thing that no one seemed to know about the facts of Lubomir and her own little playdate and she didn't really care either way if the world knew or not. Lubomir had been the one to execute the affair that day and though she'd enjoyed the aftermath of it all she'd had little freewill to decide if she wanted to or not. The bastard had had a darker side to him than she'd imagined but while he'd taken what pleased him so she'd learned a secret to the brute that she could dangle over the monster anytime she wanted. So she didn't have anything on Mew yet but sooner or later she would, or if she didn't then atleast she torment the bitch til the end of time. There really was little love between the Sadira line anymore, atleast the two had proved that much.

The whole while that she'd been standing there with Mew her mind had been working on just what type of secret the woman could be holding over her. If she was smart she'd know that murder and rape had no care on the woman, that she knew of the whores he kept on the side and his little games he so loved like she did. She narrowed her eyes at the woman as her mind began to tick away doubletime, there was little else that her mate could have accomplished behind her back that would seriously piss her off. She sat there quietly for a moment until it all began to click into place. While he may take others on the side she knew that he would come back to her everytime he was done with his small victories.. but spending time as another's prisoner of war reminder her of one of the side effects from those sort of victories. She narrowed her eyes as she hissed softly. "I think I have a good enough idea of just what he's been up to.." She growled as she turned her emerald orbs back to Mew, "Perhaps if you'd just lied in the first place.. you wouldn't have got my attention trained so on your dear brother's sins."

The femme in front of her, not that distant on her family tree mentally miles apart, was not happy, and gave Mew a little growl to show it. And she was smart. All in all Mew liked her more and more in a way; she was a worthy challenge for her own anger. And it felt immensely good to take it out on someone. Mew had tossed away every thought about how her brother might come out of this and was relishing this trip of selfishness. She hadn't meant to - normally she wouldn't have the conscience to - but she had gotten carried away. Too passionate about this, too eager to make her cousin feel bad. And she knew that she would. It was too much of a teat for her to handle being given without eating it too. Firefly was thinking, obviously, taking too long for another sharp smart reply. Mew doubted she'd guess, but she'd quickly find out as soon as the girl was done thinking. The words that finally came out of her did not give Mew any clues as to whether she had guessed or not, however, but Mew could always keep going a little longer. He's been up to the same old, it's just the outcome that's new. As Firefly threw another sentence at her, Mew chuckled. What was the bitch talking about? Mew had lied. She didn't care what Haku did in regards of sexlife, nor did she believe that Firefly was his only way of happiness. She had lied when she had said it was nice, and it was Firefly who had pushed this into a conversation that she probably would have undone, afterwards. Right now Mew didn't care, and even though Firefly was angry at her, it didn't seem to affect her that much either. Perhaps she wanted to be a second-hand lover, or perhaps she was just one of those who let men trample all over them. That would indeed explain why she'd ended up with Haku. You're the one who so highly shout that you know all about his sins, hon, not me. It was time for Mew to leave, perhaps, before this got any uglier. Mew got up, preparing for a fantastic exit, her mood lifted higher than it had been lately. Looking back, green orbs on green orbs, Mew smiled. Good luck with your mate, stepmum. Walking away she expected a reaction. If there was none, then this day was perfect, but whatever it would be, Mew could face it. Mew could face everything.
