The crunching of snow broke threw the silence of the recently awoken sun. The morning air was cool on the wolf's red coat. She had finally healed completely from the broken ankle Leland had cursed upon her just before the new year. As she walked her companions followed. Mornings were so relaxing, quiet and still within the tribe lands. She missed having her friends and family with her but for now this new group would have to suffice. Hoof prints followed her into a valley. The snow had covered the grass and frost bit at the trees limbs. With luck winter would soon be over. Aidan's chocolate mustang figure wandered into the opening in search of some long dead plants to feed on while the wolfess took a relaxed seat against a near by tree. Her mind wandered to her father. He was always so calm and in control compared to her. The fiery girl seemed to have issues when it came to keeping her opinions to herself. Lifting her small head to the painted sky she called to her father and with that Jaya's cry echoed hers into the silence.

We can date this to after Leland tells Dawali what happened with the ankle, yes? I'm having that thread too right now Smile

The look on Dawali's face as he put down the hammer he was holding, was mixed. His ears flickered when the sound reached them, and the more his thoughts spun on it (although it took only moments), the more he was certain; he was not decieved - Asha wanted a word with him. The tones had not been demanding or anything like that, more of a casual "hello, are you around? come see me" - kind of call. Or at least that was how he interpreted it. He quickly knew she wasn't far off, and went back inside the hut that was his den to put away the tools. He had been repairing the roof - some heavy snow during the winter sometime had torn peaces of the woven material off with its weight, and he had merely been tying on newly made replacements. After came the job of securing it better with some wooden plugs, hence the hammer, although he hadn't gotten that far - and would not continue until later. Hurrying outside again, Dawali looked to the skies as snowflakes swirled down towards him and he sped in the direction he thought his daughter was in - and surely enough, soon he could smell that horse of hers, Aidan as she had named him. Not all had their own horse, but the two had a special bond and everyone seemed to just accept that she was the sole owner of that creature.

Not long after setting off he found her, sitting still waiting for him against a tree, looking beautiful as always. She had her good looks from her mother, surely - as Dawali was nothing more than plain. It would have been odd, anyways, should she have gotten her beauty from her father and not her mother. She was so grown now, an adult who would be able - and who would want - to stand on her own two legs. Or four, but probably two in her case. Dawali would not get in the way of that for the worth of his life, and thus he had left her to herself, though he had wished to see her as much as he had when she was a child. Just assurance that she was doing allright was good enough for him, but naturally he was interested in every detail of her life. Suddenly remembering what he had spoken about with Leland the other day, Dawali shot a glance down at his daughter's ankles, expecting to see one of them swollen or beat, but they were neither. He decided, however, to perhaps wait with this as it would be tactless, and instead approached her in a very friendly and polite manner. Asha, ayule(child)! How are you? His arms were pointing out from his body, giving the opportunity for a hug if she should wish to grant him that pleasure.

OOC: yes I suck by a month...

The past couple of weeks had been boring and long for the female. She had recently completely healed from the ankle wound, thanks to the “big head” as Jaya had referred to him so kindly earlier that morning. The relationship between Asha and the husky mix confused her, it had all come on so fast. One time they had met and talked lightly, the next the had chased each other and ended up with a broken ankle, and finally the damn dog had confessed love! The young redwolf was just not that type of female to simply give into a pursuit of a male. However, she had rarely spent a day after that night without sighing, singing sadly, or thinking of the big hybrid she had rejected.

Jaya however seemed very pleased with the event. He had been acting more like a chick then he ever had in his year with the fey. He was all but singing in joy for not having to spend a lifetime paired up with a kitten and hearing Asha's secret thoughts. The tiny wolfess wondered if Jaya would ever be happy with her being in love and happy without his constant company. With yet another sigh she watched the happy hawk fling himself without a care through the air.

Her ears flickered with a twist of her head int eh direction of the oh so familiar sound and scent, her father. Quickly she stood with a broad smile. He approached her with open arms and she practically leaped into his arms. The Amara family had always played an important part, but now Asha and her father were all that was left. Her sister stayed with the others in the old lands and her mother had passed from illness when he was a child. The Amara girl was very much the opposite of her proud, formal father, whom never reveled his Spirit Guide's form to anyone. She was full of fire, more reckless, lived life the way she wanted and usually got straight to the point. “Dad, Leland's in love with me!” She choked, upset with herself for hurting the young male.

I don't think it is the owner of the spirit guides that chooses whether the guide shows itself or not. They're ancient creatures, and act on their own Smile

The girl flung herself to his embrace, and Dawali was happy to wrap his arms around the smaller figure of his daughter. He was tall for a red wolf, getting to the height of the average grey wolf, and so the proportions between them were still balanced even though she was now grown. He would forever be hers and Aiyanna's protector, whether they wanted him to or not, but at this time it seemed as if he was wanted. As he held her in this hug, which in reality took only moments, Dawali sent a quick thought to Mischka, whose nature was so unlike his own, but heavily represented in the young girl that was his oldest daughter. She - too - had been impulsive and free-spirited, easy to get a conversation with and easy to be around. For Asha's sake, he was glad she had more features from her mother than her father - being too much like himself would have easily doomed her to a solitary life. Not necessarily lonely, but such was life.

Careless words exited her mouth, and Dawali quickly put two and two together. His hands had been resting on the shoulders of his daughter, and now they released her, to rest on his hips instead. A moment of thought was given the problem she presented him with, and quickly revealed a few answers as well. Flirting had obviously been the cause of the accident that Leland had told him about, although it seemed it was some time ago, since her ankle was now fine, obviously. And now it seemed, Leland was in love with his daughter. Perhaps that was why he had joined their tribe, and not Dawali's friendship. And perhaps that was why the male had striven so hard to achieve a guide so fast, and to be able to shift. Honestly he did not know what to say, nor was he afraid to reveal this. What do you mean, child? He's in love with you? He wasn't worried, but confused, mostly because of the quarrel within himself; he had no idea what his own feelings were on the subject.
