It's Black Label, So Keep Walking

JAZ !!

It was dim, only the small flames from candles that sat in the wall sconces light up the room. The miniature blazes painted shadows against the dark painted walls, dancing in the stale air that filled the room. The scent of smoke hung in the air, heavy pure tobacco that laced each fiber of the round armchairs. The plush cushions were inviting, as were the round leather topped stools that lined the polished oak topped bar. A round table sat in one corner, high back chairs circling it as if holding a silent conference while the rest of the furniture lounged lazily with no order atop the dark floor.

A solid heavy door had met her, having traveled down one of the less frequented hallways. With bucket and rag in paw the female had opened the door to find a place thick with dust. Having opened the small windows that let in little light she was disappointed to find that the stench of smoke lingered. But the longer she worked to scrub, polish and dust the fixtures, the more accustomed she became. It was almost a fitting scent, and she moved behind the bar finding many other things that fit the atmosphere.

Kneeling to the soft carpet, Anu eyed the many bottles that stood hidden under the bar. With the dingy rage the female wiped away dust that had clung to the label. Eyeing the picture of the drawn elk on the green tinted bottle, she hesitantly moved to the next. Blue orbs watched as she lined each so that the label showed clearly. Fingers lingered at the caps, and she fought to the urge to break the seal. Its pathetic to drink alone…

OOC:Enter the silly drunken boy Big Grin

Ic:

Stumbling towards the mansion the large warrior felt like he would love nothing more then to gambol around in the wet, dead grass. Slowly he pulled himself up the porch steps trying to keep each step in focus as he climbed. Opening the door to the mansion he tripped over the small bump of wood at the base of the door with a giggle. He was so clumsy sometimes. His drunken mind was filled with wounder as he headed upstairs and looked around all the doors. With a silly smile he lowered himself to the floor and hooted as he began to run around the top floor. “KAPOW!” He yelled mimicking a gun as he bolted around the corner to the back of the mansion. Slowing to a stop the male opened door after door before coming to the final room of the hall. “And the prize behind door number...” Reading the number on the door he continued his game, “105 iissss...” Swinging the door open Jazper stared into the room as Anu's scent floated towards him, “Anu's smell?! What a stupid prize!” He pouted as he entered the room.

The room reminded him of some of the bars back in Halifax. It had chairs and a bar but best of all there was alcohol! His pout turned to a large grin as he half skipped towards the back of the bar only to find the hidden Anu. “Oh...are we suppose to be playing hide and seek?” He asked in a serious tone before his eyes wandered to the many bottles the female seemed to be captivated by. He began to kneel beside his leader but found himself falling down to a sitting position with a laugh. “You know these are for drinking not playing.” He scolded her with his pointer finger. Grabbing one of the bottles he popped the cap off and handed it to the female continuing to take another for himself.

XD total powerplay… let me know if it’s a problem

The bottle she raised to eye level held an amber liquid. The dark dusted label held the picture of a small gold man, posed in motion and holding a thin cane. The words the crossed its middle were unknown to the illiterate female, and for some reason she wished she could know the name of the man walking across the bottles front. Her rag removed the dust that had been building over its surface and Anu peered at the curious character. Breathing deeply in a sigh, she found a sneeze preying on her nose.

Eyes shut tight, she almost didn’t notice the beast that joined her in the smoking room. Almost. The sound of him filtered through the door, and her ears perked as she heard her name. Turning she found the Captain grinning as her, the liquor on his breath could have intoxicated her and two others while his stature only confirming her belief he was terribly drunk. She looked at him for a long moment, wondering what he was doing here and what she was to do with him. Recovering from her surprise, Anu gave him a nod. I had no idea. She mocked him, knowing that he was in no state to retaliate. She smiled at him, thinking of how much pain the big beast would be in when morning came.

Looking at the bottle that he had opened for her, Anu wondered if she should help him. She could take him to his room, tuck him into bed and give her best wishes for his hangover. Blue eyed stared at the bottle. Come on Jaz, Anu took the arm of the large warrior, and pulled him as best she could to his paws. If they were going to do this, it would be as proper as she could make it. It was a room for gentleman, and she wouldn’t let him be some lush lying on the floor.

take a seat, and tell me what’s on your mind. She was sure that the high back bar stool would hold his liquored form. All the while the black labeled bottle sat on the bar, waiting for her to return to it.

Laughing as he drank he smiled at Anu's words. “Well now you know silly!” He giggled, still pointing a figure at her. As she smiled at him he leaned towards her, nose touching nose. He stared at her with a curious look before he burst out laughing, “You, my dear lady, were being sarcastic!” He cried in triumph of this new achievement. Taking a swing from his bottle he raised a fist in the air, a symbol of his victory. Gulping down the liquid his throat burned, making it rough and harsh. He kept his muzzle up in the air until every last drop was gone and then he slammed the bottle down with a hiccup. At Anu's touch he flinched and glared at her. Why did she want him to get up? The ground was so comfortable. Still he allowed her to help him up but not before grabbing another bottle.

Stumbling he grabbed the stool before he could topple over onto the ground again. Leaning against the bar he sat onto the chair with a sigh. He looked at Anu, thinking about what was on his mind as he popped off the lid to his new bottle. What was on his mind? He shook his head becoming quiet and calm instantly as life hit a hole into his fun and games. “Garnet had a miscarriage to a girl who was pure white. She named her Lily Rhiannon. Now everywhere I go there's white wolves that she could have looked like as an adult and now Garnets run off to find her own mother saying she's never coming back and I don't know why!” He slammed the drink down once more, shattering the glass all over the bar. A growl grew in his throat as he thought of the the black coyote that had left him. “Mom fucking right. Shouldn't have asked her to be my mate in the first place.” He cursed himself for that moment now.

She leaned against the bar, taking in the drunk form that sat (barely) in the chair. She couldn’t help but shake her head at the sight, feeling bad that he was so completely drunk already. At the same moment Anu wished she were in the same state, though with the supply they had just found it would be impossible to get there. Looking across the shined pine Anu gave him a smile as her fingered worked the cap of the bottle she had been saving. Jazper seemed fine, not needing one of the double shot glasses that she placed in front of herself. Pouring a glass full for herself she took it down just as he began to speak.

The smooth scotch filled her throat as ears listened. And Anu almost choked on the liquor as she heard what he said. Blue eyes raged as she listened to his story, finally knowing why the female had left and how much pain had been spread so thick on the big male. Still shocked, the broken bottle barely made her move. She understood why he was so torn, and why he was so drunk. It only made sense and the kind of sense that Anu fully appreciated and understood. Her rag brushed that she could manage to clean to the side of the bar and she eyed his hands.

Looking for any shards in his paw, Anu pulled another glass over knowing that he needed it now. Filling it with what was held in her hand she pushed it towards him. It might not do anything more then make him believe he was making progress on his drunkenness. Anu figured there really wasn’t anywhere else for him to go, he had hit bottom. Taking another down and feeling the burn ease with the second shot she let it hit the bar with a clink.

That’s fucked up Jaz. The words escaped as she cringed from the drink. The small golden man still walked idly across the label. There was no reason she couldn’t come to you. No reason to run. She hoped to ease him, but the fear of waking his anger was very real. Lily, it’s a beautiful name. The warmth of the scotch fit her stomach and Anu looked across, wondering if she had looked so low in her life. She was certain she had.

His angry rages in every part of his body. Amber eyes staring at Anu almost accusingly for making him think of that moment he had found the letter. The stinging his heart came back and he growled under his breath. The large brute was not one to mess with emotionally or physically. Of course he was loyal, sensitive and generally lived life the best he knew how. However, Jazper had a hidden side of violence and anger since he was a young boy. He still remembered wanting to yell and scream at the leader that had met him after his parents death, and wanting to yell at Deuce after Dierdre's death. Now here he was yelling about his daughters death to Anu. His temper was a dangerous thing in his over sized body. He could easily snap the wolfess in front of him. Shaking his head he looked at his hand. He was a monster, no wonder no one wanted him.

He watched the liquor fall into the glass, staring as it flowed and hit the liquid in the cup. Taking a deep breath he relaxed into his chair calmly. Coal ears fell against his head. “I know but I still love her anyways..” he grumbled as he rested his elbow on the bar to lean his head against. Harsh words didn't make her ghost go away, neither did reassurance that 'every thing will be okay'. The familiar name made his ears perk and a small smirk appear. “Ya, Lily really is a beautiful name.” He sighed. It was perfect for his passed angel, his only blood. Taking the new glass gently in his hand he let the sip alcohol burn his tongue as it slide roughly down his throat. His dull gold eyes stared into Anu's own orbs, almost looking like he was reading her soul, “So, what are your ghosts?” He asked calmly. Everyone had ghosts.

Anger in the gold hued eyes watched her. It was impossible to find anything else in their gaze. Anu found no comfort in the idea of the large male being so enraged. It was a powerful feeling that filled the air that surrounded them, making it electric. Her fur threatened to stand on end with the tension. Even with the booze and his drunkenness Jazper was still so vivid and aware of the pain he felt. It was as if the liquor only fueled the fire. Not helping as Anu felt it should.

Anu blinked, her eyes shutting for a moment. In the briefest of times she thought of one face. Her picture filled her mind and Anu forced them open. Her ghosts? His question made her look back to his face and see the small smile that lingered on his lips. It was contagious and Anu found herself smile though she felt far from happy. It was sarcastic smile, bitter and full of cynicism.

He own head was being filled with the anger and frustration she felt. It had been piling for so long. It had been growing, growing and destroying everything that she had. She let it, and was full aware of how she had just stood to the side while everything crumbled. She hated herself, hated the loss she felt. Hated the sadness and the loneliness. The scotch flowed sweetly down her throat and she realized that she was pouring it liberally into her mouth. Waking from the daze of memories Anu let it fall to the bar top. The shot glass she had placed beside her was empty and unused.

Blue eyes looked to Jazper, and there was no hiding that she wanted to crawl in the bottle and never return. yes fell to the bar as she spoke, I fell in love. I fell in love while I was with Nani. And then it seemed like there was nothing else. She left, Geneva left and I fell apart. Nani knew it wasn’t working, even though I never told her that my heart was unfaithful. And still, I told her that she could come home, but she doesn’t. She says she loves me, but… She doesn’t. The words came so quickly, so easily the secrets of her heart’s affair had been bottled so tightly that they flew out like caged birds.

Claws held the bottle tight, and she fought the tears that were never far behind thoughts of both wolfesses. But anger rose in her body, and blue eyes started to blaze. I let it all just happen… Her voice trailed, and she finally looked back to the male who sat in front of her, sure that he had lost interest.

The drunkenness filled his head. Sickness twisting his stomach and the effect started to push his stomach's contents up and down. His life rushed around him spinning as he rested his head in his hands. Everyone had their own ghosts. Naniko's folks had abandoned her, his parents died protecting him, family came and went in his life. It was perfectly normal for him to feel like he didn't have a soul in the world that he considered family. His heart bleed for someone to accept his as theirs, to be his and be faithful. He craved to protect and teach his own pups. Though his dreams where filled with these thoughts they never seemed to come true. Shaking his head he fought back tears from his watery eyes.

Anu's words floated in his head as she let her own ghosts fly free into his own. Her haunting blue eyes pierced threw him like he was not alive, or she wasn't. He knew the feeling all to well, it was a lifestyle well withing his ken. The want to hide in a corner away form t he world, scream into the sky and curse those around you for having a better life. Those other wolves with their happy smiles, happy families, happy mates, happy fucking lives. God he hated them sometimes.

Her story was typical, love gained, betrayal, love lost. A story like every other life form who ever experienced a romantic drama. It would seem that everyone must have one of these in their lives in order for it to be complete. He felt sorry for the wolfess before him so lost within her world of lovers. However, she had it coming because she was the one to betray Naniko. Now at least he knew the full story of what happened and why they were never seen together anymore. Nodding his head the coal male sighed, “We're mortal, we sometimes mess things up for ourselves. If we're lucky the mess will only affect ourselves but most of the time we end up leaving our filthy prints on everyone around us.”

There, the words had been spoken. Her anger was subsiding, with each breath that she took. Her core ached, the scotch threatened to send her to the floor, But Anu kept a paw on the bar to keep her standing. She felt defeated, the emotions, the circumstances and the memories had taken over and each beat her in turn. She didn’t want to the pain, she didn’t want to know how it felt to be unhappy. She wanted to forget, she wanted to feel again. No longer the numb walking ghost.

He had no sympathy, not that Anu could read. She wouldn’t deserve it, but she wanted it. She needed someone to tell her that it was ok, that she really hadn’t done it all completely wrong, that she could make it right. She didn’t deserve any of it. She hardly deserved the release that the bottle she held provided. Blue eyes avoided his, looking to the dark liquid and taking it to her lips once again. Her voice was laced with the pain of the scotch, raspy through the first few words, Everyone. Everyone feels it. Haven, her poor boy was devastated, trying to find his own love while his mother’s commitment had dissolved.

You’ll be happy again. Anu proclaimed, knowing that there would be a day when he would find what he wanted. He would have that again, though Anu was sure she would never. She was too old; she might as well start digging her own grave. Instead of starting right then and there Anu leaned against the bar and spoke with honesty that only came with a drunken tone, You deserve it Jaz...
