Dreadful insomnia plagued Howl for the fourth night in a row. She shuffled through the forest like one of the living dead. When skeletal fingers grabbed at her through the black screen of night she flinched, only to find they were just harmless twigs catching in her fur. Relief lasted less than a second as her brain quickly focused back on the meandering, mindless droll of it's captor's movements.
Moonlight slicked back the shadows to reveal slivers of the forest coated in silvery ice and snow. The hushed crunch, crunch of Howl's footsteps tricked her jittery nerves into thinking she was at the brunt end of a slow pursuit. They can't follow me much longer. Just keep going... She groaned and trudged on. But no amount of walking could shake her stalker for obvious reasons that, sadly, weren't so obvious to the delusional girl.
Howl really wanted to escape or at least catch a few winks. These things were unreachable because of the frightening, omnipotent presence that had been watching (and now following! ...or so she thought) Howl for days. Perhaps it was nothing but why then did she feel so strongly about it?
Sometimes her fragmented daydreams were filled with thousands of tiny eyes hiding in every nook and cranny that nature had to offer. The eyes were strange looking and all the same- white pupils ringed in gold so bright it emitted rays of light onto it's target, namely, Howl. But this recurring daydream of the lost wolfgirl roving through a maze of prying eyes was just a silly outcome of sleeplessness with no real meaning.

Right?

He made the promise to watch out for her, to teach her the ropes of the lands. The male hadn't kept up on his end of the deal, He felt horrid. What if she would never make it up a rank or any thing if he didn't teach her about the lands. It would be all his fault. the moon was out, shimmering upon the white dusted pack lands. He sat up from laying there tossing back and fourth images of Shadow stormed his head, then there was his two pups...they where just mere masses of bones and skin, no gender, no color, just pink masses. Lucifer sighed standing up, as he took out of the den looking for the female named Howl.

His stood up upon his two back legs, sniffing the air, he was able to find her sent following it, till he found her. No matter how he looked at her, he couldn't help but to look at her eyes, her stunning golden eyes. "Howl?"

She came to a standstill when a voice tapped her on the ear, "Howl". She retaliated with a sharp, hissy tone, "How do you know my name?" and looked around frantically expecting to come face to face with her stalker ...But it was just Lucifer. The exasperated female nearly collapsed with relief but instead sighed deeply, "I'm so sorry Lucifer." She dipped her head apologetically and pattered up to him like a submissive pup, "Having a rough time settling in." Afraid to give him details she merely stood there, tight-lipped, waiting to see what words he had to offer.

The black male wasn't one to make any quick move, as he feel back down onto his two legs, he watched her, look for the face in the shadows, he was sure that it wasn't easy with his back coat. He knew if it wasn't for his icy colored eyes, he would have been a blend of a shadow. The male watched her, her body said every thing. She had been running on days with out sleep and her mind wasn't having that needed time to rest, it was over worked. With a sigh he gave a nod as he walked down to greet her, with a dip of his maw he looked at her.

With a nod he sat down, again looking her over with a sigh."Well I offered to look after you. If you where able to sleep do you think it would help you any? Ya know let your body rest?"The male would do what ever it took to make sure the member where happy with in the pack.
